File Name: Server Facade Linux
File Submitter: hellreturn
File Submitted: 21 Jun 2012
File Category: Software

Server Facade is a advanced server virtualization/redirect tool for Enemy Territory.

Clients don't notice any differences between a virtual - real server.

Features:

- Override serverside protocol version (master server receives overrided protocol number).

- Possibility to allow only specific masked IP ranges to get a valid connection over rcon.

- Ban/block specific IP's/IP ranges.

- Additional 2.60b built in redirector.

- Multiply virtual servers referencing to one real. (practical example: 2.55 + 2.60b masterlisted host).

- Version signature in "serverinfo".

- Virtual interfaces supported.

- Master Server Address editable in config.

A step in the right direction
I have seen this "server facade" on the equalone website before. I downloaded it last year actually, but did not know what to do with it.

I am aware of what it can be used to do, but am not sure how to set it up. The directions from Redsector are rather vague.

Can you give a brief description of what to do with the files? Where do they go? Does it run automatically, like enhanced mod does, or does it require extra commands in a command line or config?

Thanks

Their are 2 files:

1. XML for configuration.
2. Executable file.

Edit the XML file according to your needs i.e add your server IP / Port and your redirect port from 2.6b.

Start the executable once you start ET.

A step in the right direction
I keep getting this error when I start it in putty:

root:~# /filepath/serverfacade

/** Enemy Territory Server Facade 1.0.3 **\

Configuration cannot be loaded, if "etsfacade.xml" still exists, check syntax.
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

I have tried the unmodified etsfacade.xml and I have tried changing everything so it matches my IP but I always get the same error. Can you look at it?

This is my modified version (minus the IPs) that does not work:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<settings>

<connection>

<port>27960</port> <!-- real etded.x86 port -->

<listen>27900</listen> <!-- virtual server facade port -->

<serveraddress>[my server IP]</serveraddress> <!-- public ip address -->

<clientsredirect>[fake IP]:27900</clientsredirect>
<!-- built in ET2.60b redirector - possible values: ip:port([my server IP]:27960) -> redirect on, empty field redirect off -->
<masterserveraddress>master0.etmaster.net</masterserveraddress> <!-- masterserver address -->

<filterrcon>true</filterrcon> <!-- allow only certain ip for a valid rcon connection -->

<overrideprotocolserver>82</overrideprotocolserver> <!-- override protocol number from real server to a simulated protocol number 82 = 2.55, 84 = 2.60b -->

</connection>

<ipevents>

<event address="123.123.123.123" action="banned"/> <!-- possible actions - blocked/banned, ip mask like 123.123.*.*/123.123.123.* -->

</ipevents>

<rcon>
<event address="[my home IP]" action="allowed"/> <!-- possible actions - allowed, ip mask like 123.123.*.*/123.123.123.* -->
</rcon>

</settings>

<serveraddress>[my server IP]</serveraddress> <!-- public ip address -->

<clientsredirect>[fake IP]:27900</clientsredirect>

IP must be the same in these 2 fields.
