Indeed, there are 2 files available to download, but the better one is the second one which includes the server patch:
http://mygamingtalk....180-silent-mod/

I apologize for the inconvenience, will fix that shortly.

It's strange:

output of silent_version on your server gives:
^7sil^5E^7n^5T^7 client ^1: ^70.5.0 linux-i386 Jun 22 2012
^7sil^5E^7n^5T^7 server ^1: ^70.5.0 linux-i386 Nov 22 2011

while it should be something like:
^7sil^5E^7n^5T^7 client ^1: ^70.5.0 linux-i386 Nov 19 2011
^7sil^5E^7n^5T^7 server ^1: ^70.5.0 linux-i386 Nov 22 2011

Notice the dates.

The date in the client is based on the modbuild string which can give false results depending on how you connect. To be sure, you need to already have the client pk3 and do a direct connect to the server.

EDIT:
Nevertheless, it is clear that the server binary is not changed to 0.5.2.

I did exactly that, I have 0.5.2 pk3 which gets downloaded from that server and I connect through "et +connect IP" directly.
Tried couple of times, the same results. Even deleted the .so files from the ~/etwolf/silent directory to be sure they are the right ones. They were extracted from the pk3 upon connecting.
But the client pk3 file is exactly the same as the one downloaded from our site. Looks I am still missing something.

Then the value in the /silent_version is correct. The problem is that the server binary is not replaced with the 0.5.2 binary.

Indeed very strange. I will upload the second version of the 0.5.2 pk3 and upload it. Hopefully that will fix it.

The problem is that the server binary is not replaced with the 0.5.2 binary.

That's the most probable scenario. Since we've already confirmed that it's not client thing, please check your server library if it is the right one.

Getting Better
Some files may be write protected by your host so try and get your host to check that the files are uploaded correctly.
Also when you upload the files make sure the server is not running.
I know this is obvious but sometimes the obvious can be overlooked.

So I uploaded a newly and fresh download of 0.5.3 and it still says 0.5.0
The server was down when I uploaded the file and then I started it again. I deleted the old file in my SIlent folder and re-downloaded it.

I have done this before and it always worked.
