Well, not to be condescending but I think that atleast 99% of the people who play FPS games online, want to play against other people. And the way it is now, its virtualy impossible to introduce new cassual players, theirs just to many bot servers and crapola with finding a decent servers to play against a human being. I started playing ET again a few weeks ago after not playing for a few years and ive had many on/off periods playing ET, but over the years its gotten harder and harder to join some random server from the ingame list without ending up on a bot server. I tried atlest 10 random servers after my last install of ET but no luck finding a serer without bots.(all i got was having to download maps/sounds and skins that I didnt want and that sometimes forced a different layout on my in game menus) And one thing that I would like to point out is that people are lazy and to expect new players to download ET. And then have to go to splatterladder to find a server without bots and the mod you like, then go back into ET and open consol, type /connect (IP) Just to find out that allmost all of the people playing the game on bot free servers are way better than you, and then you find out that allmost all the players have something called a .cfg that tweaks and makes their gameplay easier... and you have no idea how it works at first, and then you figure out that windows has mouse acceleration so you have to dissable it. Its just to much...and we need more noobs! This might sound strange, but noobs are good for FPS games, it makes it fun for the new players and it boost confidence and enjoyment of the game for new players and intermediate players. And I dont even dare think about the number of new players that have stoped playing ET for good after they found out that they where only playing against bots and all the servers they try connecting to have bots... Considering the things ive mentioned above im not even trying to get my friends or random people to play ET because it would be to much of an hassel for both them and me. If I had not liked ET as much as i do I would have given up, and I would say that without splatterladder's server list I wouldent be playing at all. Hope you dont take this as a personal attack BECK it just the way I see it, and I think its sad, because ET could have been that game you could tell anyone to download and be ready to play in in no time with a decent internet connection seeing as virtualy any old crap computer can run ET.
