That is somehow related to server settings.

 

I noticed it too at the FA silEnT server.

 

EDIT:

Could it be that g_coverts flag 8 is set. Disguised coverts take only half damage. And because the disguised coverts do not give hitsounds, if the friendly fire is not enabled. It gave the illusion he was not getting hurt. When he actually was getting hurt, but really little.

There is always some hitsound as long as friendly fire is enabled. If the friendly fire is not enabled, the hitsounds will not play if the enemy is disguised. Just like there isn't hitsounds from teammates.

 

EDIT:

If the question was unrelated to this topic, then g_hitsounds 1 will enable hitsounds. There is large explanations of the cvars related to hitsounds at the Wiki and at the document within the download.

To add to this.

on our server we have

 

"g_friendlyFireOpts" is:"9" default:"8"

 

set by 8 + 1 = 9

1 Landmines ALWAYS damage teammates regardless of g_friendlyfire setting

8 Players do not trigger trip mines on their own team

 

but the friendly fire is off for the mines, they kill all players
and the trip mines kill enemies only.

As a covert in a uniform I was still able to run over mines
and through all trip mines without taking any damage.

The trip mines I understand but not the normal mines.

 

Does anyone else get this ?
