  1. Best Earbuds and In-Ear Headphones Buying Guide: Welcome to TechRadar's round-up of the best earbuds and earphones you can buy in 2019. We'd all love to stay home and listen to music using our pristine umpteen-watt floor-standing speakers all day long, but unfortunately we do have to leave the house at some point during the day. But that doesn't mean we have to leave exceptional sound quality at our doorstep - a great pair of in-ear headphones (or earbuds) can contend with some high-end systems and cost a lot less. Not only are the best pairs of in-ear headphones ultra-comfortable to wear for extended periods of time, but newer models can be completely wire-free and support Hi-Res audio codecs like LDAC and aptX HD. That being said, our list of the best headphones are routinely tested to ensure they're still the best in the business. We're looking for pristine sound quality, convenient features and bullet-proof build quality at a price you can afford. While you won't find any discount-bin earbuds on our list, you can rest easy knowing that the 'buds you see below are durable, long-lasting and sound (for the most part) out-of-this-world. As we review more models this list will change, which means you can expect that you're getting the best headphones on the market at any point and any time you buy them. Can't decide which type of headphones to buy? Check out our guide video below: The best earbuds and in-ear headphones of 2019:After spending a few weeks with both the 1MORE Triple Driver in-ear headphones and the 1MORE Quad Driver in-ear headphones we were blown away at just how much value each one gave in their prospective price ranges. For $100 (£100, about AU$168), it’s hard to think of a better sounding and built headphone than the 1MORE Triple Driver. That said, if you want just that little extra refinement and luxury materials, the 1MORE Quad Drivers are still a bargain at twice the price. There’s very little we can fault the Triple Drivers for. Their rubber cable is annoying and its remote control feels cheap but these are just nitpicks. But, for their price, it’s impossible to do better than 1MORE's Triple Driver in-ear headphones. Read the full review: 1More Triple Driver In-Ear Headphone http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/4DHbqU4d7cYA6aEzaCoQA6.jpg While truly wireless earbuds are undoubtedly the future of portable audio, they still present compromises in battery life and wireless reliability. Plus, they’re easy to lose if you’re not careful. Neckbuds, or earbuds that are worn around the neck, are a great alternative to true wireless earbuds as they offer longer battery life for continuous listening and stronger wireless performance. That being said, if you're interested in picking up a pair, it's hard to do better than the RHA MA390 Wireless, which easily stands as one of the best neckbuds on the market. After spending several weeks with them, we came away impressed with the package RHA has come up with: The headphones are built extremely well, have a fun sound signature, can take a beating and still remain relatively affordable. It’s main rival, the OnePlus Bullets Wireless (featured below), are also excellent, however the RHA MA390 offer more dynamic sound and better build quality. Read the full review: RHA MA390 Wireless http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/4UxjsiJGeNU8UYT9gEp6G7.jpg RHA T20i Good sound is subjective, yes, but there are things that we can all agree on that make a headphone sound good: Bass should be tight and impactful, highs detailed but not harsh, and mids that are smooth like honey. Most headphone manufacturers shoot for these specs, but what if you want a little more bass or want to increase the energy of the highs? For most headphones, your only option is to mess with equalization. But RHA has a different idea. The RHA T20i is an excellent sounding pair of in-ear headphones with a neat party trick: customizable filters. These filters thread into the headphone housings and let you choose from Bass, Treble, and Reference. Each filter makes an audible impact and are easy to swap out on the go. As a package, the build quality, sound, and customizable filters make the RHA T20i a must-have for audiophiles on the go. In fact, they sound so good, they made us want to give up our wireless headphones. Read the full review: RHA T20i http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/mK592np95TDZtoz3AV58XN.jpg Optoma NuForce BE Sport4 The NuForce BE Sport4 wireless earbuds are that rare find: earbuds that are good for basically all situations. While they're specifically designed for use in the gym and on the track, the BE Sport4 do an awesome job isolating audio in a crowded city environment and are even good enough for home listening. The BE Sport4 earbuds have claimed 10-hour battery life, which we found to be pretty close to the mark in our time with them, and from empty you can get two hours of use from just a 15-minute charge – ideal for those needing a quick top-up while they put on their trainers and pack a gym kit. Consider this a warning shot fellow audio manufacturers: build and audio quality do not need to be sacrificed in order to keep earbuds affordable. For $70 (£70, about AU$124), the OnePlus Bullets Wireless offer an incredible value in the neck-bud headphone category. Sure, true wireless headphones are en vogue now, but tethered wireless headphones offer better battery life and signal strength for much less money. Read the full review: OnePlus Bullets Wireless http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/KLyREfbmxzY6obe2BQBfMk.jpg Optoma NuForce BE Sport3 NuForce knocked it out of the park with the BE Sport3 headphones. They're an incredible value for a pair of wireless headphones that sound good, last all day, have a bulletproof build and incredible noise isolation. While they're not the most dynamic or resolving headphones, NuForce shows us that the future of wireless headphones is a bright one. After spending over a month with them, we came away impressed with the well-rounded package that Jabra managed to create: The earbuds offer a subtle, mature look and a reliable wireless connection, which isn’t always the case with truly wireless earbuds. Plus, they sound great compared to the competition. While the Jabra Elite 65t are easily one of the highest scoring true wireless headphones we've reviewed, there are a few others on the market worth considering: If you want a pair of exercise earbuds, there’s the Jabra Elite Sport which has a higher water resistance and handy sports-oriented features. For audiophiles who don’t mind stretching the budget, the active noise cancelling Sony WF-1000X are an excellent choice. Bassheads will want to try the SOL Republic Amps Air. If you only have the budget for one of these, though, go for the Elite 65t. But once you're in, you'll stay for the killer sound quality that comes from the Momentum In-Ear earphones. These are the among the best deals in the headphones market as it stands today. The company has a version available for each flavor of mobile OS –Android and iOS – so everyone can get in on the goodness. Read the full review: Sennheiser Momentum In-Ear http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/vvyqCHgdGeFhZPadXUikH7.jpg 1More Quad Driver In-Ear Headphones They're expensive, but the 1MORE Quad Driver in-ear headphones are worth every penny. 1MORE hit it out of the park with this flagship pair of in-ear headphones with its balanced sound build quality, smartphone compatibility and price. These in-ear headphones will make mobile audiophiles very happy. The only reservation that we have is that the Quad Drivers face tough competition from 1MORE’s own cheaper Triple Driver sibling which costs half the price (which sit pretty at the number one spot on our list). In terms of value, the 1MORE Triple Driver headphones are the winner but for those who want just a bit better build and more detailed sound, the 1MORE Quad Driver headphones are worth the extra money. Namely, that includes a great-sounding – and ultra-comfortable – pair of headphones. So, why are they so far down the list? While the NuForce BE Sport3 strikes the perfect balance between performance and price tag, the HEM6 skews a bit towards the expensive side without offering enough of a difference in performance to warrant the sticker price. That's not to say these are a bad pair of headphones – they're quite the opposite – it's just that we feel there are better values out there in the headphone world. 2. They may be reliable, but headphone wires definitely have their faults. They get tangled in your pocket, catch on your zipper, and slap your neck while you're working out. That might be why you're looking for the best true wireless earbuds around, and we're here to help. The days of wireless earbuds offering sound quality and design that's inferior to their wired counterparts are how firmly behind us, and you can now get a seriously impressive audio experience on the go without any wires. The latest true wireless earbuds not only sound just as good as their wired equivalents, but they've become just as reliable thanks to major improvements in Bluetooth 5.0 and other wireless technologies. True wireless headphones may be a bit more expensive, sure, but that additional upfront cost pays for the convenience of living cable-free. If you're ready to take the jump, read on for our picks. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/XK8ncNLKhKzL8UbEqWHHzK.jpg Apple AirPods have popularised the true-wireless format. They work seamlessly with an iPhone, sound good in terms of their form factor, and have excellent connectivity and battery life. But, move away from an iPhone and all these benefits are lost. Other headphones allow you to control your music more quickly, and more easily. Siri is no match for a dedicated in-line remote (and isn't the best of voice helpers), and it feels counter-productive having to constantly take your phone out of your pocket to control music. There’s no getting away from the fact that these are an expensive pair of headphones, and for that kind of money we think that you can find better products elsewhere – especially if you're looking to pair with anything other than an iPhone. Read on for our favorite alternatives... http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/4Ud9BoFsFJbJugmq6vcHZH.jpg Although the TrueConnect is RHAs first true wireless headphone, the company showed they did their research and development by making it one of the best true wireless headphones on the market today. The combination of sound quality, battery life, and wireless reliability means these are a pair of headphones you can rely on everyday. The Jabra Elite 65t set the standard for what true wireless headphones should be and, regardless of what RHA has done here with the TrueConnect, they’re still great headphones. Compared to the RHA TrueConnect, the Jabra has more features with its useful ambient noise mode to help with situational awareness and an app that lets you tailor sound. The RHA doesn’t have either of those features but we didn’t miss them, thanks to better sound quality and wireless reliability. The RHA also feels more like a premium product than the all-plastic Jabra. All said, if you’re shopping for a pair of true wireless headphones, the $170 (£150, about AU$265) RHA TrueConnect should be at the very top of your list. After spending over a month with them, we came away impressed with the well-rounded package that Jabra managed to create: The earbuds offer a subtle, mature look and a reliable wireless connection, which isn’t always the case with truly wireless earbuds. Plus, they sound great compared to the competition. If you only have the budget for one of these, go for the Elite 65t. There’s a heart rate sensor on the right earpiece, letting it monitor your exertion level as you exercise. A Jabra companion app lets you track your exercise, and you can kick off a workout by pressing a button on one earpiece, and the heart rate tracker is more reliable than most wrist-worn models... as long as you fit the Elite Sport buds properly. The Jabra Elite Sport don't perch in your ears, they fill them rather like a custom molded earphone. As a result, sound isolation is excellent and the fit is very secure. To sweeten the deal, Jabra recently updated the Elite Sport to boost stamina to a better-than-average four-and-a-half hours per charge – more than enough to get you through your weekly workouts – before hanging up the towel. Read the full review: Jabra Elite Sport http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/VNcBBDfayXVFouNN7JSwE7.jpg Optoma NuForce BE Free5 The NuForce BE Free5 wireless earbuds show just how accessible truly wireless headphones are today. For around $100 (about £75, AU$134) they feature a more polished design than the more expensive BE Free8, and even sound better to boot. However, we found the left earbud would drop out briefly more than we’d like, and we hope NuForce can address this issue. The connection dropouts combined with the frustrating controls keep it from claiming the top spot on our list, but the BE Free5 offer undeniable value in the truly wireless headphone market. Read the full review: Optoma NuForce BE Free5 http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/MvChMB4x7qWSffCkY9kXrD.jpg Sony WF-SP700N Sony’s first pair of true wireless headphones, the Sony WF-1000X, were divisive. Some thought they didn’t offer enough bass. Others said they had too much. Some said they cut out or unpaired periodically. Others simply never had that problem. Criticisms came hard and fast from all corners of the internet and the only reasonable conclusion one could make after sifting through all of the noise was that Sony’s headphones just couldn’t please everyone. Now, Sony’s second-generation true-wireless headphones – the Sony WF-SP700N – are here to try it again. These true wireless headphones are better tuned for the low-end and they’re stable in almost every situation. They still offer very modest active noise-cancellation tech and a sweat-resistant PX4 rating, and the new charging case is aesthetically pleasing if not radically different in functionality from before. Read the full review: Sony WF-SP700N http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/XfkMbW2WeV5qZbCq8aHwwb.jpg Optoma NuForce BE Free8 Nothing about the Optoma NuForce BE Free8 stands out but that’s actually a good thing. Its understated design flies under the radar, sound quality is good and battery life is excellent. A single charge will yield four hours of music playback, but the changing case can charge the earbuds three times, giving a total of 16 hours of playback before the headphones and case need charging. Sound quality is slightly warm and soft, but works well for a variety of music. Audiophiles won’t be pleased but for most people, the NuForce BE Free8 will do the job. Its excellent noise isolation also make these great for commuters. For the money, the Optoma NuForce BE Free8 are an excellent value in the truly wireless headphone segment. These headphones do the basics so well they’re easy to recommend for those who want to try truly wireless earbuds. Read the full review: Optoma NuForce BE Free8 http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/N5cZGfwkuLFbhSpCYpmMNi.jpg Sony WF-1000X True Wireless Earbuds Considering it's still rare to get noise-cancellation in wired earbuds at all, the fact that Sony has managed to pack it into a pair that are not only wireless, but true wireless is very impressive indeed. The Sony WF-1000X manage to offer a level of noise-cancellation that's very good for a pair of earbuds – it won't offer the same isolation as a pair of over-ear cans, but if you're after a sleek form factor then the compromise is worth it. Beyond the noise-cancellation the earbuds continue to impress. Battery life is an acceptable three hours (acceptable for true wireless that is), with a further six provided by the charging case, and sound quality is rich and full. Our only real reservation with the headphones is an occasional spotty connection between the two earbuds themselves (which rarely lasts for as much as a full second), and a lack of volume controls on the earbuds themselves (instead your options are limited to playing, pausing, and skipping your music). Still, if you're after noise-cancellation and decent sound quality with your earbuds, then the WF-1000X are the way to go. At $299 (£259, AU$449, AED 1,199) you can throw in a bit more cash and splurge for one of our favorite noise-cancelling headphones, the Bose QuietComfort 35 $349 (£259, AU$499, AED 1,449), which give you better battery life and a richer sound. But if you’re looking for a something to take to the gym and have the cash to burn, then the Beoplay E8 might be just what you’re looking for. While you won't find noise-cancellation here, you will find a longer-lasting battery life of around four hours alongside Bluetooth 4.2. The E8 come with a stylish carrying case, and you can tweak the sound to your liking using the accompanying Beoplay app on Android and iOS. Even without tinkering around with ToneTouch, the E8 sounds crisp and clear. Bass feedback will depend on how snug you’re wearing the E8s, but was acceptable for earphones of this size. If you’re able to look past the price point, then then Beoplay E8 is a great investment. It’s super compact, offers great audio, and looks great – what more could you ask for? 3. Prepare to add one more app to your social media life - 1TAM - One Thing About Me – is a UAE homegrown vlogging app which aims to encourage users to produce and share authentic content. Launched by Emirati Anwar Nusseibeh and UAE-based serial enterpreneur Khaled Ismail, 1TAM is the first Middle East home grown fully-fledged social media app that aims to connect users through genuine and real conversations. The app contains similar features seen on Instagram and Snapchat, with users creating up to 60-second videos to interact with other users from around the globe. 1TAM features an ‘Answer Back’ button, which allows users to have direct video dialogue either in the public or private sphere. “We wanted people to have real dialogue on 1TAM. With the Answer Back feature we are able to create authentic conversations for our 1TAMER’s and connect our community in a unique way”, said Anwar Nusseibeh, Co-Founder at 1TAM. 1TAM also introduces a point system encouraging community building and engagement that will ultimately allow users to redeem points against goods, services and discounts. The app is available on iOS and will be coming soon to Android. The founders are now seeking forward-looking investors for a second round of funding. 4. It's rare that we see a concept car make it to full production with minimal changes, but with the Lexus LC 500 - on the exterior at least - things are different. It's an almost carbon copy of the futuristic LF-LC Concept, and that means it looks absolutely fantastic. With prices starting at $92,200 (£75,595) the future certainly doesn't come cheap, but walking up to the LC 500 and sliding into the driving seat does soften the blow. That said, considering the price tag, the Lexus LC 500 is lacking in one area - in-car tech. While on the outside it still looks like a futuristic concept car, the infotainment feels like a bit of a blast from the past. However, with a naturally aspirated V8 under your right foot you won't need a heap of tech to keep you entertained. A glimpse of the futureAs is already probably clear, the Lexus LC 500 looks stunning. It's cutting edge design, powerful, low stance and sizeble 21-inch wheels ensures it's a head turner as it rolls down the street. The door handles are flush with body, and pop open like tiny wings when you unlock the car, allowing you to open up the large door. There's a cheekily hidden small spoiler too, which automatically deploys at speeds above 50mph, providing additional stability - although you'll find a button in the cockpit to open it at lower speeds if you wish. Under the hood we had a 5 liter, naturally aspirated V8, which means not turbo or supercharger and thus no lag in acceleration when you put your foot down, plus it makes a great sound. It's connected to a 10-speed automatic transmission which allows you to glide along with very little effort, however a manual gear select can be adopted using the paddle shifts located just behind the steering wheel. Lexus also offers the LC 500 as a hybrid, with a 3.5 liter V6 combined with an electric motor for more efficient and environmentally-friendly driving. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/Vb8FSjWey5rKqBnSEyk5pf.jpg The body of the LC 500 is a mix of carbon fiber and lightweight aluminium, keeping the weight of the vehicle down, with a core frame made from ultra-high tensile strength steel. While this sporty coupe may look like a two seater, it actually comes with two rear seats as well, although legroom is at a premium, so rear passengers are best kept to young children (ISOFIX points are included). The front seats are comfortable, and the cabin is spacious and as well as being heated, the front seats are also air cooled - which is a great feature during hot summers. It's one of the features I miss the most when going back to my car. There's a surprising amount of storage space in the trunk too, ensuring you can take the LC 500 on holiday with more than just an overnight bag to your name. Lexus LC 500 exterior design gallery Take a look at the techThe Lexus LC 500 isn't exactly lacking in tech, but the way its implemented now feels dated - especially when you consider its futuristic exterior. We're now accustomed to seeing touchscreens in our vehicles - and the fact there isn't one here is a little alien. The sizable 10.25-inch main display also feels like it's set back too far which, in part, is a subtle hint that you shouldn't be reaching your finger towards it, but I'll admit more than once I went to tap the screen before remembering it wouldn't work. Instead, there's a laptop-like touchpad located in front of the gear shift, which allows you to navigate around the interface, and you press the pad in to make a selection. At times I found it rather fiddly, and the arrow occasionally jumped around a little, making it difficult to get to a particular menu in an efficient manner. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/pHNiwehCGLSnbBiQykAkdf.jpg There are physical controls for climate and volume though, so they at least can be easily managed while driving, but the touchpad does not lend itself well to 'eyes on the road' control. However, once you get to where you need on the interface, the features are great. The satellite navigation imagery does look a little out of date when held against the like of Google Maps and Apple Maps on our smartphones, but it’s accurate and the traffic updates are on point. Navigation instructions are also relayed to the (optional) color HUD (heads up display) which is projected onto the windscreen in the eye-line of the driver - giving you key information without having to take your eyes off the road. The HUD also provides your current speed, direction of travel and lane detection notification. It's a useful addition and one I used frequently on every drive. You'll also find an 8-inch TFT display in lieu of an instrument cluster, which can display a range of information other than your speed and fuel level including trip details, mpg (miles per gallon) and more. Lexus LC 500 interior gallery The LC 500 comes packed with a range of sensors which can detect the current speed limit and offer adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, automatic high beam lights when driving on unlit roads at night and sway warning. There's a rear camera which is engaged when reversing, making parking the wide-hipped LC 500 easier, as well as parking sensors all around the vehicle ensuring you don't hit any obstacles which may be hidden from your view. The Lexus LC 500 I was driving also had the optional extra of the 13-speaker Mark Levinson stereo installed and it sounds fantastic. Those who need access to power will find a couple of USB ports hidden beneath the center armrest, which are handy for topping up your phone on long drives. There's not a lack of tech then, but the LC 500 lacks the futuristic control we'd expect from a car with such bold exterior styling. However, you do get superb, head-turning looks, a fantastic sounding and performing engine, comfortable ride and tech that works (once you've grappled with the controls), making the Lexus LC 500 a seriously cool coupe. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/riKxiHdACCuzjSxHg69pub.jpg John McCann is getting behind the wheel to give you an alternative look at the wealth of cars – and the tech inside them – available today. In replacing Peter Capaldi, Whittaker became the first female Doctor and she's been accompanied in the Tardis by new characters Graham, Yasmin and Ryan, played by Bradley Walsh, Mandip Gill and Tosin Cole, respectively. More fresh impetus came with the arrival of Broadchurch creator Chris Chibnall, who takes over from Steven Moffat as showrunner. And judging from the reviews, it has been a rip roaring success story. Watching in the UK is easy enough thanks to BBC iPlayer, but for those outside the country you need not miss out on Doctor Who as you can still tune in using a VPN service. How to get one of those, and which is best for you, can be found out below. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/B9XNGCRYNHKJzN5zVfTMje.jpg How to watch Doctor Who online for free in the UK:To watch Doctor Who in the UK, you need simply to have paid your TV licence and have a connection to a BBC One broadcast, via aerial, satellite or over cable. 6. Let's play darts! The PDC World Darts Championship 2019 final is here with Dutch two-time winner Michael van Gerwen going head-to-head with England's Michael Smith on the Ally Pally stage. It should be an intriguing battle of arrows, and you can live stream darts from World Championship final using this handy guide. In something of a new era for the game of darts, 2018 has been the first World Championship since Phil 'the Power' Taylor retired, and the last for Dutch legend Raymond van Barneveld. Rob Cross was the champion after his victory over Taylor in last year's final, but he crashed out at the quarter final stage. That leaves the number one seeded van Gerwen as strong favourite once again to take home the world title for a third time. 7. This last year has been a bizarre one in the world of PC components. AMD, Intel and Nvidia have all launched major product lines that ruled their prospective portions of the market – at least for a little while. AMD launched its Ryzen and Threadripper 2nd Generation lineups, which brought about fantastic performance at a bargain price, while Nvidia launched Turing and the best graphics cards we’ve ever seen. And, Intel? Well, Intel released four different microarchitectures to varying degrees of success. But, what will 2019 look like? As all of these manufacturers mobilize to launch more efficient silicon than ever before, will we finally start seeing 7-nanometer (nm) processors in the mainstream? Or, will AMD launch a line of graphics cards that gives the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti a run for their money? What will the mid- and low-end Nvidia Turing cards look like? http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/Hw264Ek6FcDb9zs4ZoyqYB.jpg AMD in 2019For years, AMD has been playing the underdog both in graphics cards and the best processors. However, now that AMD is selling twice as many processors as Intel, it’s heading into the new year as a dominant force in the market – even if it still needs to catch up to Nvidia. Ryzen 3rd Generation. The AMD Ryzen 3000 series processors are a sure thing in 2019, and while leaks have pointed to them being 16-core monstrosities with core speeds up to 4.7GHz, we think that’s a little bit pie-in-the-sky. Still, AMD is shrinking its manufacturing process to 7nm in 2019, according to leaked road maps from Informatica Cero, so we’ll likely see better efficiency and performance across the board – hopefully while keeping its stellar price-to-performance balance. Threadripper 3rd Generation. As is the norm over the last couple years, we’ll likely see a new line of Threadripper HEDT processors show up in Summer 2019. The leaked roadmap we mentioned earlier points to a “Castle Peak” architecture following AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2nd Generation, likely based on the same Zen 2 process as Ryzen 3rd Generation. Similar to its mainstream Ryzen platform, we expect AMD’s next HEDT line to bring improved efficiency and performance. AMD Vega 7nm. AMD has a press conference at CES 2019, and we’re pretty sure that it’s going to announce 7nm Vega graphics cards for creatives and professionals. We’ve already seen AMD tease 7nm graphics cards for CES, and the AMD Vega II logo has been revealed in a trademark application. It’s a pretty safe bet that AMD Vega II will be revealed very soon. AMD Navi. But, what about consumer graphics cards? Ever since Nvidia launched Turing with, frankly, insane prices, we’ve been hoping AMD Navi would come out and give Team Green some much-needed competition. We’ve seen a leak that suggests that AMD will release an RX 3080, which would compete with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 for half the price. If this is true, 2019 is going to be an exciting year for graphics cards http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/nvm24Jrn2rJGZV6L8jsTDR.jpg Intel in 2019We know significantly less about what Intel is going to do in 2019. It’s known that the silicon giant is going to do something, but the specifics are a bit arcane at the moment. Between Cannon Lake, Sunny Cove and some HEDT chips, we’re sure following Intel is going to be a rollercoaster this year – like it is every year. Sunny Cove? Cannon Lake? Coffee Lake Refresh just came out a couple months ago, bringing extremely high core counts and clock speeds together for the first time – the Intel Core i9-9900K blows everything out of the water. It’s still a stopgap, though. We’ve been waiting for 10nm Cannon Lake processors for years now, so hopefully we’ll see some more efficient silicon in 2019 – even if it’s called Sunny Cove instead. More laptop processors. Even though Intel’s 9th generation of processors kicked off in October 2018 with Coffee Lake Refresh, we’re still seeing a ton of laptops with the 8th-generation Kaby Lake Refresh processors that launched all the way back in 2018. We expect Intel to refresh mainstream laptops next year, though we’d be happy if we saw more laptops with Whisky Lake chips. Intel graphics cards. Intel has been hinting at launching its own line of graphics cards for a while now, and we have to say: we’re intrigued. While Intel has come out and said that it’s on track to release graphics cards in 2020, not 2019, Intel will likely show off some of its new graphics architecture. Will they be consumer cards? Or – what we think is more likely – GPUs aimed at taking on Nvidia Volta and AMD Vega in the professional space? We’ll just have to wait and see. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/XZRCbgGocsCX5UhkzdytbG.jpg Nvidia in 2019Nvidia had a pretty action-packed 2018, so we’re not expecting anything groundbreaking from the graphics giant. It already launched Turing for consumers and Volta for data scientists and professionals, so we’ll likely see those lineups expand throughout the year. More Turing desktop graphics. We’ve started to see some leaks and speculation crop up about the Nvidia RTX 2060 start to surface. The Nvidia Turing lineup, as it exists today, is extremely expensive, so we’re hoping that whatever the RTX 2060 is capable of, it’ll be more affordable for mainstream consumers. Not everyone wants to drop a thousand bills on a graphics card. RTX Mobility. Sure, the best gaming PCs have had access to Nvidia Turing for a few months now, but what about gaming laptops? Well, word on the street is that Nvidia will announce RTX Mobility graphics for laptops at CES 2019. We’ll likely see the RTX 2070 Max-Q as the premiere mobile GPU, but we could see the RTX 2080 make its way to a laptop near you as well. 8. Whether you like it or not, you can’t deny that the touchscreen has completely changed the laptop scene. From more touch-friendly operating systems like Windows 10 and Chrome OS to the explosion of drawing apps, there are more reasons than ever to have a touchscreen on the best laptops than ever before, and the best 2-in-1 laptops surging popularity does nothing but confirm this. It might seem like every laptop that’s come out in the last couple years has a touchscreen – and while that’s pretty much true, they’re not all created equal. While most will detect when you simply scroll up or down a web page with your finger, the best touchscreen laptops will be tuned for precise digital pen usage and will even have some specialized features. Keeping this in mind, we went ahead and found all the best touchscreen laptops for everyone – from digital artists to note takers. Whether you need to be a part of the touchscreen revolution, you’re looking to upgrade to the next best thing, or you’re just looking for some tech-savvy gifts just in time for the holidays – you’ve come to the right place. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/w4hNwsnfr9BwpjbYCFkxFK.jpg Over the last few years, Microsoft has been hard at work creating some of the best touchscreen laptops on the market. Devices like the Surface Pro 6, the Surface Book 2, all of these are brilliant devices. However, the new Surface Laptop 2 takes the traditional laptop form factor and merges it flawlessly with touchscreen technology in the most compelling way we’ve seen in a while. Not only is is a beautiful display, packed in a gorgeous chassis, but it has the hardware to back it up. Some may lament the absence of Thunderbolt 3, but when it does so many things right, it’s hard not to love the Surface Laptop 2. What’s better, every single thing you write down on the Samsung Chromebook Pro is saved to Google Keep, which then digitizes your handwriting into a text document for easy searching afterwards. And, when you take into consideration its access to the Google Play Store for all the best Android apps, it isn’t hard to see why this is one of the best touchscreen laptops. 9. HP has been working hard on rebuilding its reputation over the last few years – primarily through the best HP laptops it has ever produced. These mobile beauties were thought to be dead just a couple years ago, but thanks to the magic of Windows 10 and the best Ultrabooks, HP’s best laptops have morphed into devices that focus on design flair rather than cheapness. This resurgence of the best HP laptops has brought the popular ‘privacy filter,’ called Sure View to prominence. Plus, these new HP laptops are bedecked with a beautiful gold trim that we’re used to seeing in HP’s high-end Spectre 2-in-1s and Ultrabooks. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/3rtcRrzAF7iEZK37MtHS4D.jpg In our mind, the best HP laptops balance design flair with raw power, and the HP Spectre x360 is a perfect example. It’s an economical Chromebook that never feels cheap, which is a distinction that Chromebooks wear like a badge of honor. This Chromebook in particular boasts a sleek aesthetic and passable performance, especially when you spec it out. It’s easy to see why, for people on a budget, the HP Chromebook 14 G% is one of the best HP laptops. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/7tLtKbeTKEXoMGuPdFohtT.jpg The best gaming laptops have a shaky reputation for their lack of upgradeability, making them more disposable than a gaming desktop by nature. Luckily, HP has subverted this issue by adding plenty of essential features that most gaming laptops lack. For instance, you can overclock the Omen X, which just means free performance – which will keep it at the top of the stack longer than competitors. 10. In 2019, you need one the best laptops – you can’t avoid it. However, you only have one reason to go with the best 13-inch laptops – they’re the ideal size. 15-inch laptops are just too big, and anything less than 12-inches will leave you squinting. The top 13-inch laptops, then, are right in the sweet spot – they’re great for watching online videos and getting your work done. We still love the Dell XPS 13, but it’s not the only ‘right’ choice. We’d get it if you wanted the new MacBook Air, or even the HP Spectre x360. Yeah, the XPS 13 is beautiful, but you don’t have to worry about awkward camera placement on those other laptops. The best 13-inch laptops all excel in different ways. At the end of the day, the best 13-inch laptop ultimately boils down to what you want to do. Do you want a traditional laptop, without any unnecessary gimmicks? Or, would you rather have one of the best 2-in-1 laptops that can transform into one of the best Windows tablets? What about one of the best Macs, running macOS Mojave instead of Windows 10? So many laptops, so little time. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/vzjeFAkyeM82mUdJPz7upm.jpg Its changes are subtle, and yet the Dell XPS 13 is still the best 13-inch laptop you can buy. On the high end, it now offers a 4K display, for a sharper picture across the board. But even if you can’t afford higher tier configurations, the beautiful design, lengthy battery life and even the SD card slot are still there – plus you’ve got a quad-core processor no matter what poison you pick. Better yet, the 13.3-inch display of the XPS 13 has been squeezed into a smaller frame, which explains Dell’s marketing line: ‘the world’s smallest 13-inch laptop.’ Now stew on that, as you admire the Dell XPS 13’s gorgeous, albeit more expensive, Alpine White finish. No matter if you’re a professional or creative, the Microsoft Surface Book 2, with its more compact form factor, rocks an aesthetic that’s just as gorgeous as its predecessor. What’s more, the dynamic fulcrum hinge is even stronger now, which only complements its robust, quad-core processor. The Razer Blade Stealth – in its all new gunmetal finish – rocks not only a gorgeous and practical aesthetic with its 400-nit display brightness and full-size USB 3.0 ports, but it also has a few tricks up its sleeve to make it a performance beast. The 8th-generation Kaby Lake R U-series processor makes the Razer Blade Stealth a force to be reckoned with. It doesn’t have the best battery life in the business, but it’s worth the 16 minutes of battery life to have one of the best 13-inch laptops. Weighing in at just 2.78 pounds and measuring just over half an inch thick, it’s as thin as it is light. Plus, with up to a 4K display and 8th-generation Intel processors, it’s one of the best ways to experience high-quality video streaming as well as 720p gaming on a hybrid. We didn’t even mention the plentitude of ports. You’ll get two USB-C Thunderbolt 3 ports on top of a USB 3.1 Type-A – so you shouldn’t need a ton of adapters. 11. Now that both macOS Mojave and the new MacBook Air are here, the best Macs are better than ever. And, if you’re thinking about going out and picking up one of the best Macs, keep in mind that specs, performance and design mean way more in how they interact with the OS itself than any of them separately. That’s why it isn’t really useful to pit the best Macs against Windows 10 PCs. The best Macs are extremely diverse in 2019 – even in its early days. We don’t know what Apple’s future looks like, but we’re sure that there’s plenty of life in the Macintosh. The best Macs cover everything from high-resolution workhorses like the MacBook Pro to stationary behemoths like the iMac Pro, even to thin-and-light notebooks like the 12-inch MacBook. But, which Mac is right for you? Well, we decided to put together this list of the best Macs – iMacs, MacBooks and more – to help you answer that question. The only Macs that aren’t included here are the ones we’ve yet to review, or just didn’t make the cut. 13. The European Union will help cover the expenses of bug bounty programs for 14 open-source projects according to an announcement made by EU Member of Parliament Julia Reda. The projects that will receive funding for their bug bounty programs are 7-zip, Apache Kafka, Apache Tomcat, Digital Signature Services (DSS), Drupal, Filezilla, FLUX TL, the GNU C Library (glibc), KeePass, midPoint, Notepad++, PuTTY, the Symfony PHP framework, VLC Media Player and WSO2. The bug bounty programs are being sponsored as part of the third edition of the Free and Open Source Software Audit (FOSSA) project. FOSSA was first approved by EU authorities back in 2015 when security researchers discovered severe vulnerabilities in the OpenSSL library a year earlier. Third edition of FOSSAIn her announcement, Julia Reda highlighted the importance of free and open-source software, saying: "The issue made lots of people realise how important Free and Open Source Software is for the integrity and reliability of the Internet and other infrastructure. Like many other organisations, institutions like the European Parliament, the Council and the Commission build upon Free Software to run their websites and many other things." The first edition of FOSSA ran between 2015 and 2016 with a budget of €1m and a public survey was held which decided that Apache HTTP web server and the KeePass password manager would receive a sponsored security audit. FOSSA 2 had a budget of €2m but its bug bounty program was limited to €60,000 for the VLC Media Player app. Beginning in January, security researchers and companies can hunt for vulnerabilities in the 14 open source projects chosen for FOSSA 3 and report them to earn a monetary award. Some might end up looking like your dad’s office chair, with all-black ‘real leather’ designs – others fully embrace the gamer aesthetic with RGB lighting and loud, clashing colors, making you look like futuristic race car driver. We will help you find the best PC gaming chairs on the market, so you can spend more time sitting down and less time shopping around. Because – let’s be honest – we do our own fair share of sitting, and we’re very familiar with the best PC gaming chairs. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/XN9xtDyFnTYURiyQ6KbQaG.jpg It’s no exaggeration to call the Noblechairs Epic Real Leather the best gaming chair. From the cross-thatched embroidery to the real leather of its namesake, if you’re looking for a no-compromises gaming throne, this is it. Plus, it’s surprisingly quick and easy to set up. And, once the set-up is complete, the Epic Real Leather is a dream to sit on – and you can customize your position however you want. Just do us a favor, and read the instructions while you’re setting it up. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/WGgrnA7KnW5DrT4nGZnRMa.jpg If you want to play games all day in comfort, but you don’t want a chair that looks like you’re playing games all day, the Autonomous ErgoChair 2 is for you. UK and Australian readers: check out a fine alternative in the Respawn 115 http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/YrsYxcwSMg9ED2KQin2Zi9.jpg Leather and fabric have their advantages, namely to comfort and texture, but sometimes a mesh office chair is best – especially if you live in a warmer climate, where breathability is of utmost importance. The Respawn-300 combines the racing-seat design and lumbar support and mesh material from some high-end office chairs. It really does take comfort to another level and is one of the best PC gaming chairs you can buy today. This product is only available in the US at the time of this writing. UK and Australian readers: check out a fine alternative in the Noblechairs Epic Real Leather. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/wDTigh6K729XPwELKYUh6U.jpg Corsair is known for making popular and high-end PC components and gaming peripherals. It’s only fitting, then, that they dip their toes into the gaming chair game – and they may have made one of the best gaming chairs yet. Covered top to bottom in breathable PU leather with neck and lumbar pillows wrapped in microfiber, you’ll be able to game both in comfort and style. And with its rollerblade-style wheels, you’ll be able to move it around on any surface without having to worry about scratching up your floor. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/tt35EV28Dbom7XG5WSDu3k.jpg Noblechairs is well known for crafting some of the best gaming chairs out there – and the Noblechairs Icon makes it clear why. While it’s more affordable than the flagship Epic Real Leather, it’s still extremely comfortable and one of the best PC gaming chairs out there. This is thanks to its nice lumbar pillow, which you can easily remove if you don’t like it. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/Um3dv5Vyhs75nfAKSAaWhV.jpg The Edge GX1 is a gaming chair that actively avoids the popular racing style that is increasingly popular with modern gaming chairs. The company behind the Edge GX1 goes as far as to say that racing-style bucket chairs actually negatively affect gamer’s performance, with their designs limiting movement and comfort. It sort of makes sense, as those styles of chairs are based off designs for racing cars, where limiting movement for the driver is a priority. Instead, the Edge GX1 aims to give an ergonomic experience where comfort is key, while also offering a premium gaming chair. And when we say premium, we mean it, with the Edge GX1 costing £800, a huge amount for a gaming chair. It’s hand-crafted in the UK, and there’s some great touches, such as inflatable lumbar support. It’s a huge asking price, but we’ve been using it for a while now, and it is very comfortable. You need to adjust it a bit to suit your needs, but once you have it set up just how you like it, the ergonomic benefits of the chair really help justify the price. This ships worldwide from the UK, but be warned that shipping costs will add to the price if you’re in the US or Australia. You can only buy this chair direct from Edge http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/2QJ2fP5CBbHmicZB8tjvwe.jpg There’s a certain subset of the PC gaming community that needs to have the absolute best of everything, at whatever the cost. These people are going to be absolutely enamored with the Vertagear Triigger 350 SE. It features over 350 individual components with a mix metal, mesh, leather and high-end plastics to create the ultimate PC gaming chair. If you have the money to spare, and you can’t stand to have anything less than the best, you might want to give this chair a look. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/i3XzXkJxeyM3AARkbWdjJG.jpg Another day, another Noblechairs gaming seat – and the Noblechairs Epic is the best gaming chair for the classier gamer. It features a faux-leather covering inspired by car seats, combining both comfort and a high-end design to make it one of the best gaming chairs you can buy today. And, if you’re the type that shies away from the ‘gamer aesthetic,’ the Epic’s subtle black design is far more elegant than some of the more brightly-colored seats on this list. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/CKm4FSHdJJjyvbNwKEwqPG.jpg For the gamer looking for some extra room in their seat, the Vertagear Racing Series PL6000 is a must-have. Specially designed to provide both added width and height, this is the best gaming chair for anyone with a larger frame – no matter how tall you are, the adjustable headrest means you’ll never experience discomfort. However, this is a complicated chair to assemble, so use the buddy system to build this masterpiece. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/q3pmwvNfak9q5SUL2WUqNG.jpg The Nitro Concepts C80 is a gorgeous, comfortable gaming chair that could easily blend in in an office environment – it looks more expensive than it is. Nitro Concepts made one of the best gaming chairs by keeping the price down, while keeping compromises to a minimum – like using polyurethane instead of leather. And, no compromises were made in the build quality, either – this is an impressively sturdy gaming chair. Just make sure you get a friend to help you put it together – constructing this thing had us tearing our hair out. This product is only available in the UK at the time of this writing. We don’t need to tell you that the best mouse pads are important, but if you’re already playing the best PC games on the best gaming PC with one of the best gaming mice, why would you settle for anything less than the best gaming mouse pad? Because there are hundreds of gaming mouse pads in 2019, we decided to list all the best gaming mouse pads you can buy today. Whether you want to light up your desk like a Christmas tree, or if you just want a slick pad for maximum accuracy and response times in your favorite ESports title, we found the best gaming mouse pads for you. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/MJnjaN7MEM6DFsUAKPbA75.jpg The Corsair MM600 isn’t interested in distracting you with brightly colored lights like the MM800. Instead, it offers a great deal more versatility than its higher priced sibling. This double sided mouse pad stays secure in place with rubber stoppers on each corner so that your mouse moves – not your mouse pad. The MM600 is also made of aluminum, and features a low-friction surface that will boost your response times in-game. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/KP2iyLx3gjjeikGcde7kS9.jpg Existing solely as a budget mousepad, the SteelSeries QcK does exactly what you want out of a mousepad and nothing more. The QcK’s surface material has a high thread count for extremely precise mouse control and a smooth glide. At the same time, its rubber base helps prevent it from sliding around your desk while you’re gaming. It comes in a variety of shapes and sizes and there’s even a higher end version with RGB lighting – the SteelSeries QcK Prism. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/9MXZ2WCEFU2bVZprz9VcB7.jpg There are plenty of times when we’re looking at gaming mouse pads that we love in theory, but just aren’t the right size for our desk. Luckily, the Cooler Master MP510 looks to get ahead of this, by offering 4 different sizes, from a small pad that’ll fit in any area to a giant mouse pad that’ll take up your entire desk. It’s made of a durable Cordura fabric that won’t fray, stain or even absorb liquid. So you won’t have to panic when you inevitably spill your drink – except for all your other peripherals, we guess. This product is only available in the UK as of this writing. US and Australian readers: check out a fine alternative in the SteelSeries QcK.http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/hdHHmAJYZtCKFsSKasKQkD.jpg Sure, everyone loves RGB lighting, but what if you’re looking for an unobtrusive, seamless desk surface? Well, the ultra thin – less than half a millimeter in height – Razer Sphex v2 is the mouse pad for you. Despite its thin profile, the polycarbonate surface is durable and optimised for laser or optical gaming mouse control. We picked the regular size, but if you have a smaller desk, there’s a Small size variant as well. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/eEypxrshyq3iLWmhiwRCXF.jpg The top of the Hiro+ is covered in a vulcanized silicone surface with a 3D structure to help increase your gaming accuracy and speed. The base has a non-slip surface for steady mouse control, and the edges have been rounded for a smoother profile. Its surface is also coated to protect from water and grime, and makes for easy cleaning. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/5whTyyqasEoEjSAKo37aoX.png We bet you thought the best gaming mouse pads were just surfaces to move your mouse on top of didn’t you? Well, we don’t blame you – until the Corsair MM1000 Qi hit the market, that’s basically what they were. Not only is this thing one of the best gaming mouse pads, but it also features Qi charging. Launching alongside the Corsair Dark Core RGB SE, which itself features Qi compatibility. The MM1000 Qi isn’t just Corsair’s answer to the Logitech PowerPlay, it takes mouse pads to a new level by letting you charge your phone while playing. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/x6fueMxXB5ksSwZyxYCUUB.jpg If you’ve had your eye on a RGB mouse-pad to match all of your tricked out peripherals, and you didn’t want to settle for a rigid piece of plastic, you’re in luck. The Razer Goliathus takes Razer’s expert RGB implementation and throws into a soft gaming mouse pad that will let you score those headshots in comfort and style. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/rKVEmBggbqtxP4ENhx5DRb.jpg You simply can’t go out looking for the best mouse mat for gaming in 2019 without considering RGB. All the hottest gaming peripherals right now boast about how they can light your desk up like a Christmas tree, and the Corsair MM800 RGB Polaris is no different. On top of Corsair’s always-fantastic RGB implementation, the MM800 uses a low-friction finish that’ll allow for quick and precise tracking across its surface. And if the lighting wasn’t enough, the MM800 uses Corsair’s special CUE2 interface to sync its lighting with your other peripherals and even your PC through RGB share. It’s even available in two materials: cloth and a micro-texture surface. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/oRzQHknHaZTXHWjyzuQzXg.jpg The Asus ROG Scabbard is less mouse pad and more ‘everything pad’. It can hold your laptop or keyboard and mouse, and whatever other accessories you have lying around – it’s seriously huge. It has a non-slip ROG-red rubber base and low-friction Sheath woven surface for gaming control. Asus has even temperature tested the ROG scabbard down to -30°C – but why you’d game in sub-zero conditions is unimaginable, unless you really take overclocking that seriously. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/Fufe2PtLL86whPzqwQJ6ni.jpg Are other mouse pads just too soft for your gaming setup? Well, if so, you’re in luck – the MSI Thunderstorm gaming mouse pad is all metal. To be precise, this gaming mouse pad is made of an anodized, hairline-surfaced aluminum material with rubber stoppers. This textured surface is optimized for mouse control and speed, while its L shape allows it to be situated close to the keyboard. And, if that metal surface is just too real for you, you can flip it over for a micro-textured surface and the comfort of cloth. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/software-news/~4/bbsgX1xCje0
  16. If you’re setting out to build a PC better than one of the best PCs, the most important things you can do is pick up the best PSU you can muster. We know it doesn’t sound too exciting, but every component in your PC relies on the best power supplies for life. Even if it means you have less cash for one of the best graphics cards you don’t want to compromise. You shouldn’t need to compromise, though – there’s a ton of power supplies out there in 2019. Even if you’re on a budget, you can find a bargain on some of the best PSUs. Don’t worry, you can still splurge power supplies bedecked with RGB lighting (of course) and enough wattage capacity to power the best gaming PCs with two NVLinked RTX 2080 Tis. No matter what you need, we’ll help you find the best PC power supplies for your build. Having a PC power supply die is an awful experience and the many of the symptoms of a dying PSU can slip by unnoticed. , The worst silent killer could be as subtle as a power efficiency dip, leading to your PC to outright refuse to turn on one day. By the time you notice your PSU is beginning to fail, it may be too late. So, do yourself a favor and buy one of the best PC power supplies today, so it doesn’t fail tomorrow. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/s7bNrNiAX825w9br73UNW.jpg The Corsair RM750x scores the top spot on this list for one simple reason: it’s the most well-rounded power supply you can buy today. On top of a 10 year warranty and an 80 Gold Plus efficiency rating, the Corsair has a fully modular cable system. This means you only need to install the cables you need – you can say goodbye to the mess of cables and shoddy airflow that non-modular PSUs endure. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/bz9UJdyKQUWkSHaVbyxLX.jpg If you’re looking to save some cash on your PC build, you don’t have a ton of options for cheap power supplies that aren’t terrible. In situations like this, an economical option like the EVGA 500 B1 might be the best PC power supply for you. For less than the cost of a AAA game, you can expect 500 watts of power transmitted through several SATA cables and two PCIe cables – it covers the bare essentials, which is exactly what a budget power supply should do. The three-year warranty is just the cherry on top. This product is only available in the US and UK at the time of this writing. Australian readers: check out a fine alternative in the Corsair RM750x http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/vMxW2gZBR5Ybqr6qYV5HW.jpg Even the best PSUs seem to have extremely loud fans, and unlike case fans, it’s not exactly easy to replace them. Luckily, the Straight Power 10 line-up runs nice and quiet. Options range from 400w to 700w, and they’re SLI and Crossfire certified. They’re also modular, meaning you only need to use the cables that are necessary for your build. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/t9fdvraJBY9Vt4hNuCD3V.jpg The best PC power supplies unfortunately tend to be giant hunks of metal that don’t fit into smaller PC cases. However, the Silverstone SFX SST SX550 is a compact power supply that fits in plenty of cases. It’s half the size of most of the other PSUs on this list, allowing for more room for better airflow. This makes it an easy pick for anyone building a mini ITX or micro ATX build, and you can even slide it into a mid- or full-tower, if you feel like it. And, with small form-factor PCs being all the rage in 2018 – it’s easy to see why the Silverstone SFX is one of the best PC power supplies. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/CvdKuzYm4Trf3dgWXem8W.jpg If you’re a serious builder that plans on building an absolute behemoth of a rig, with multiple graphics cards, cooling systems on top of some healthy overclocking, the Corsair AX1500i is the best PC power supply for you. It has the highest possible 80 Plus Titanium efficiency rating, and is fully modular, so you only need to add the cables your build actually requires. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/ouKpDsfovQubbTxsYf2uiZ.jpg If you’re really trying to maximise the visual appeal of your build, a modular power supply is almost essential – you can avoid all of those messy looking wires cluttering up your case. The NZXT E650 takes things a step further. Not only is it a fully modular power supply, meaning you only need to connect the wires you actually need, but it’s also extremely attractive itself, begging to be shown off in your case. This is all topped off with an 80 Plus Gold efficiency rating and a 10-year warranty – not only will it look good, but it’ll deliver power efficiently and last forever while it does it. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/FcimtbjBV2VyvQfEv59Tqn.jpg In 2018, if your PC isn’t strapped to the nines with RGB lighting, you’re not trying hard enough. Enter the Thermaltake Smart RGB 700W – not only does it have beautiful, addressable RGB lighting, but it also features a reliable 80 Plus efficiency rating and enough power to support even the best gaming PCs. Yeah, it’s not modular, but at less than a hundred bucks, we’re willing to look the other way – especially with that sick lighting. 17. Even the best PCs will eventually experience some kind of slow down over time, especially as operating systems like Windows 10 and macOS Mojave become more and more demanding. If your computer is starting to drag its feet and show its age, you might want to go out and pick up the best RAM to give your PC a healthy speed boost. One of the first things you’ll notice when you out looking for the top-rated RAM is just how varied the memory market is. Anyone that new to the PC hardware scene will have a hard time finding the best RAM for them. So, whether you’re looking for a quick and easy upgrade that’ll let you open more Chrome tabs, or if you’re trying to run the best PC games better, you’re going to find the best RAM right here on this list. Let’s dive in. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/SWkrDZbyjj7EsW8mBLhpHT.jpg Best RAM: Corsair Vengeance LEDCorsair is responsible for some of the best RAM on the market. Its Vengeance series, especially, has something for everyone with its LED DDR4 offerings. On top of giving PC builders that extra touch of vibrant lighting, the Corsair Vengeance LED series’ built-in heat spreaders maximize cooling for higher overclocking and maximum performance. Corsair’s Vengeance LED DDR4 series features CL16 latency and 3,466 MHz speeds. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/Vqoha9GFY6krezcWbon7oa.jpg Best DDR4 RAM: G.Skill Trident Z RGBAt this point, everyone kind of knows about G. Skill and its Trident Z RGB series of RAM. This is some of the best RAM not just because it’s fast, but the top of every DIMM features a full-spectrum rainbow wave light bar that you can use to match your RGB lighting across your entire system. Trident Z RGB DDR4 RAM features CAS latencies between 14 and 19 which is awesome enough, but with speeds up to 4,266, it’s almost perfect. No matter your aesthetic, it’s hard to argue with the G. Skill TridentZ RGB as the best RGB RAM. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/Gjnwh5NDUiqkL6RM6EXt2R.jpg Best DDR3 RAM: Kingston HyperX PredatorKingston’s high-performance HyperX has some of the best DDR3 RAM on the market and the Predator models is particularly tuned for and extreme-performance that’s further expandable with XMP profiles. The Predator DDR3 series achieves CL9 to CL11 latencies and speeds between 1866MHz to 2666MHz. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/AzZwmE54LL8jEvJYiVJkrd.jpg Best Budget RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury This Kingston HyperX Fury is auto overclocked memory that won’t empty your wallet. This smart DDR3 or DDR4 RAM auto-detects system components to overclock to the highest speeds possible, optimizing performance for all of Intel’s latest chipsets. It comes with latencies between CL14 and CL16, and has speeds between 2,133 and 2,666MHz. While it’s inexpensive, it really can have a huge impact on the performance of your rig. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/w7o733kvkMQ8883SkD9otW.jpg Best High-end RAM: Corsair Dominator PlatinumIf you need to perform a lot of high-intensity tasks, the Corsair Dominator Platinum is the best RAM for you. The chrome heat spreaders not only allow for premium performance, but they also allow for maximum bling. The massive heatsinks might get in the way of more low-profile builds, but if you’re running your RAM at 4,000MHz, things can get pretty toasty. On the low end, Corsair also offers a low-latency C14 version of the Dominator Platinum at 2,400MHz. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/qPo53hpm9RyqTbFJeuLhxD.jpg Best double capacity memory: G.Skill Trident Z RGB DCSometimes, especially when you’re looking for the best gaming components, ‘go big or go home’ is the best advice. And, when you want more RAM than you’ll know what to do with, you’re going to want to go with the G.Skill Trident Z RGB DC memory. The DC stands for double capacity, as in, 32GB per stick. Now, this is definitely not the fastest memory in the world, right now it’s only available in up to 3,200 MHz, but if you need a lot of RAM without taking up too many DIMM slots (like if you have a big CPU cooler or a Mini-ITX board), you can’t go wrong with the G.Skill TridentZ RGB DC. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/nnG7XDX4xKkiRFwcnk9R2h.jpg Best gaming RAM: Adata Spectrix D80 If you’re going for an all-out no-holds-barred build, and you want the flashiest hardware so that your desktop can illuminate your office, you’re going to want the Adata Spectrix D80. Not only is it available in frequencies up to 5,000MHz, but it’s liquid-cooled, which means you shouldn’t ever have to worry about it overheating on you. The Adata Spectrix D80 is going to be the best RAM for gaming in an RGB-lit cavern. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/3sj4Ea9z79cFyDbSXQuJKE.jpg Best RGB RAM: HyperX Predator DDR4 RGBHyperX has always been a huge name in desktop memory, and it’s not hard to see why. The DIMMs they release always feature the latest technologies without pushing the price higher than it really needs to be – and the HyperX Predator DDR4 RGB is yet another example. Not only is this ram fast, but it looks good, too – with Infrared Sync tech that promises to actually synchronize the lighting between DIMMs. And, with its stylish black heat spreaders, this is the best RAM if you want your gaming PC to reach max aesthetic. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/dgyur9TLCPPw2X6PZPXqUe.jpg Best Low-Profile RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPXCorsair’s Vengeance LPX RAM is made for users who want the maximum performance with minimum footprint. This low-profile RAM is essential for PC builds with massive CPU coolers. Despite being so low-profile, they still feature an eight-layer heat spreader to cool while overclocking. While its thin design doesn’t allow for LEDs, but you can get it in three colors: black, red or blue. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/EuXkpL4SPCkARn6xyQYSWP.jpg Best Mac RAM: G.Skill Mac RAMJust like their dedication to laptop and desktop RAM, G.Skill has RAM upgrades for Macs, too. Adding more memory on the Apple Store is needlessly expensive, so going with a third-party kit can help you save a ton of money – assuming that your machine is one the last remaining MacBooks or iMacs that are still upgradable. These SO-DIMM have a CAS latency between 9 and 11 and have between 1,333MHz and 1,600MHz. The best bang for the buck seems to be the G.Skill DDR3-1333 for Mac. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/smQjxBsCaVLxrffZqA5P3i.jpg Best Laptop RAM: Crucial Ballistix SportCrucial is by far the best RAM for laptop systems. This manufacturer has designed its Crucial Ballistix Sport SODIMMs for efficient battery life while still delivering fast speeds for multi-tasking. It’s ideal for anyone wanting to speed up the best laptops, and this memory likely offers higher memory speed than anything coming stock in your laptop. Just make sure your laptop actually lets you upgrade the RAM – repairability is falling out of fashion these days. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/software-news/~4/E_dbZGPrAdU
  18. What’s cooler than being cool? That’s right, keeping your PC components ice cold. And, because we’ve tested them all ourselves, you can use our exclusive price comparison tool, so you can save some cash without compromising on quality. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/74fQvisy42PTUHHwRh42fL.jpg The Noctua NH-D15 is the best CPU cooler you can buy in 2019 simply because it performs just as well as – if not better than some liquid coolers, while costing a fraction of the price. Now, you might not be too familiar with Noctua’s name, as they’re relatively small in the CPU cooler world, but its business is centered around designing coolers, so you know that when you buy one of their products, you’re getting a product by people who really know their craft. Not only will you get fantastic cooling performance from the NH-D15, but it’s nearly silent too. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/aYjFb8NKEjnichDVGUdBeL.jpg Yeah, we know, it’s been around for years. But, the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo is still one of the best CPU coolers on the market – if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Even though it only features four heat pipes and an aluminum fin structure, this legendary CPU cooler has proven again and again to be just as efficient as any liquid cooling system These air coolers are designed to make heat dissipation a breeze – literally – whether you’re playing Destiny 2 at max settings or reading TechRadar with your web browser. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/KZPxWaNn26LyyNMNQ9Z2fL.jpg Noctua is an Austrian manufacturer that does one thing, and one thing only: make CPU coolers and fans. What this means is that while the Noctua NH-L9 is tiny, it is still capable of insane cooling with no compromises. This is a fantastic cooler for anyone with a smaller build, or even if you’re using a ton of large components, and you’re not comfortable with liquid cooling. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/mD9gUpAijCcPcuHwUMREyN.jpg Corsair has been on top of the all-in-one liquid cooling game for a while now, and the H100i Pro continues the trend. Not only is this thing strapped in the RGB lighting we’ve come to expect from Corsair, but it also features impressive cooling performance, thanks in part to its powerful and unique fans, which you can control through Corsair’s iCue software. This all results in a CPU cooler that not only performs well, but that is also completely customizable. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/m2AjZnvchhqYKXYKC9GyR.jpg If you’re looking for a powerful liquid cooler that’ll help contribute to your epic RGB setup, the Deepcool Gamerstorm Castle 240 RGB is the best CPU cooler for you. Beyond the ridiculous name, it’s a reliable AIO cooler that can push your overclocks higher and higher with addressable RGB that’s compatible with a wide range of controllers – so you can effortlessly sync your lighting. The CPU Block stands a little high, but when it looks this good, does it really matter? http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/Nc8pcNhNEwrgaXcuQQPzZG.jpg If you’re running one of the best processors, and you want to push it to the limit, the NZXT Kraken X72 is the best CPU cooler for overclocking. Not only does it pack a gigantic radiator, but its high fan speeds ensure that cooling performance is top-notch all the time. And, because it’s 2019, it features addressable RGB and an infinite mirror design that looks amazing in any case. Then, to top it all off, the NZXT Kraken X72 is backed by a 6 year warranty. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/5eEJbvJA6iBuXcivgL5J25.jpg There isn’t a single component that can’t be improved through RGB, and Cooler Master is well aware – jumping on the RGB bandwagon with the MasterLIquid ML 120R RGB. What’s more, it integrates some of the first addressable LEDs seen on a liquid cooler. This all-in-one liquid cooling solution isn’t just about aesthetics – it features an oxidation free pump and an efficient radiator. This means that not only will it last longer – but it’ll keep your CPU cooler, and all without giving up too much case real estate. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/iUhCteZo2HERqV2z9zo7Cg.jpg For less than 70 big ones in both US dollars and British sterling, the Arctic Liquid Freezer 120 is a deal you can’t pass up if you’re on the prowl for a liquid cooler that won’t break the bank. While it lacks the bells and whistles of pricier, more extravagant liquid coolers, like the NZXT Kraken, the Arctic Liquid cooler is enough to get you by, not to mention it’s still a massive step up from the classic fan and heatsink pairing. So, while you can’t expect RGB lighting or software – or even hardware-based fan control, the 120mm variant of the Arctic Liquid Freezer will keep your system refrigerated at a (mostly) quiet volume. That’s where something like the Corsair Hydro H5 SF comes into play. Even on the smallest PC cases, you should able to use this CPU cooler to keep your CPU chilled, even if you have some beastly overclocks going on. And, because it’s a closed loop, you don’t even need to worry about maintenance. Set it up, and let it do its thing – you won’t be disappointed. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/mSyf2U4yDdGw2XKLtjtD2Y.jpg Unless you’re already neck deep in the rabbit hole that is silent PC assembly, you’ve probably never heard of NoFan, a South Korean component company that specializes in helping enthusiasts reach that 0dBA silent sweet spot. In doing so, of course, you can count on severely limiting yourself in terms of power, with its CR-95C fanless solution being limited in compatibility to processors whose TDP fall below 95W. Still, the NoFan CR-95C is worth a shot for those sporting low-power rigs that prioritize tranquility over raw horsepower. This Product is only available in the US at the time of this writing. 19. Many people don’t consider the best PC cases when they’re setting out to build one of the best gaming PCs – and we think that’s a shame. The best PC cases don’t have the same cool factor as the best graphics cards, but all those shiny and expensive components need to go somewhere – why not put them in one of the best PC cases. You won’t just get a more aesthetic experience, but your computer will run faster and longer. The best PC cases may sound inconsequential next to something like the best processors or a beefy Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. However, keep in mind that heat is the mortal enemy of all PC components, so the best PC cases offer a major benefit to your build. They can also determine how much room you have to expand your PC later on down the line. So, if you want to keep your PC cool and up to date, you’re going to want to go with one of the best PC cases. The amount of PC cases on the market is simply jaw-dropping, but you don’t need to worry if you’re sticking to a budget. There are a ton of deals out there for the best PC cases. So, if you don’t know what case you’re going to use yet, read on to find the best PC cases you can buy right now. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/3Z7kKPUBMr3rJLSLz4SbaZ.jpg It’s been said that ‘if you’re going to do it, do it big’. And, while we’re not wholly sure if anyone ever actually said that, the Corsair Obsidian 1000D is certainly doing it big. Filled front to back with up to 18 fan mounts and room for four 480mm radiators, this is the best PC case for keeping your system cool no matter how many high-end components you have. What’s more, this is a dual-system case, meaning you can fit two complete computers. Just think about it – you can fit both your gaming rig and your streaming PC into this beastly case. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/TDzRQmu642wAJWj9HLJ2YP.jpg It is extremely rare to see any PC case that even vaguely resembles the Fractal Design Meshify-C. Given that the front of the case is entirely made of a mesh material sectioned off into an array of polygonal shapes, the Meshify-C has a unique style – without compromising on function. With two fans pre-installed, cooling is (forgive us) a breeze, even if the Meshify-C is held back by a number of obstacles. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/TnAfsXKcw3ecvrDX6wBNVP.jpg Nanoxia Deep Silence 4, as it’s name suggests, was crafted with the sole purpose of being quiet as a mouse. This silence-focused case is a well-balanced Micro ATX case that’s affordably priced and even accommodates some of the biggest, most powerful graphics cards with its spacious interior. The fact that you’ll rarely hear it go above 30 decibels is just icing on the very taciturn cake. This product is only available in the US and UK at the time of this writing. Australian readers: check out a fine alternative in the Phanteks Evolv Shift X. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/fqjHoR2CsqMzagVCApkxgQ.jpg Every single day mini-ITX gets more popular, and closer to toppling Micro ATX. And, it makes sense – why not spring for a small computer that can get just as much work done as a full tower? NZXT’s new H-series case line manages to integrate a ton of the same features as its Micro ATX and mid-tower equivalents, with mesmerizing, built-in and smart device-controlled RGB lighting and an adaptive noise sensor that sees improvement only by way of the Grid+ V3 fan controller. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/ayrBqZrphyuMDQuUWFxJSP.jpg When you first look at the Phanteks Evolv Shift X, it looks more like a sound bar than one of the best PC cases, but this helps it vanish into any living area or studio setup. It’s flexible to the point that it looks natural placed under a TV as it does on a desk, next to one of the best gaming monitors. It may only be compatible with a Mini-ITX motherboard, but the Phanteks Evolv Shift X offers tons of space for components and liquid cooling loops. If this case is a little large for your preference, you can get the smaller Phanteks Evolv Shift for easier management. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/FSTZWhEeNTsPcBvRMVarfP.jpg Fractal Design wins again with the Define R5, yet another mid-tower case with a gorgeous aesthetic. The metallic and blue LED-lit face of this case is simple, yet elegant, and is accompanied by noise dampening materials throughout its interior. In spite of the detachable ModuVent panels and drive trays not being toolessly accessible, it’s incredibly easy to build a system inside of the Fractal Design Define R5, plus it’s not as expense as you’d expect from a PC case with such a pretentious name, either. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/CiqEkRKeLhr8U7t5ECSL9e.jpg Cooler Master is kind of known for, well, cooling things – and the Cooler Master H500P Mesh is evidence of how it got there. This beautiful RGB-packed case has plenty of room for airflow, even accommodating up to 360mm radiators on the top and front for when you really want to take your cooling to the next level. Add on top of that the RGB lighting and tempered glass side panel and you have the potential to build something beautiful with this case. Go for it. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/iqzYXUJMKYVfWy7fziD5o6.jpg If you’re looking to save a few bucks, while still getting one of the best PC cases, look no further than the Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-04 Tempered Glass. Not only does it have plenty of space for airflow, it also has a deceptively large amount of space for future expansion, meaning that even at this low price point, you won’t have to worry about fitting a full-sized graphics card. And, when you’re done building, the tempered glass side panel will allow you to show off your handiwork. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/3FQGh24qi67cu2tCvKiJeP.jpg If you’re a hardcore Razer fan, this is the best PC case for you. While Razer’s PC manufacturing has been limited to its Blade laptops, it doesn’t manufacture its own desktop PCs – not yet, at least. However, Razer has partnered with Antec to add its signature green-infused flare to the Antec Cube, a small form-factor chassis that supports Mini-ITX motherboards and is, well, a cube. Complete with a deceptively high amount of space for future expansion, the Antec Cube is also compact enough to travel with. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/BrsETgHd3MaLpMpo3NTJKK.jpg Who says dual-system builds have to be in a hulking full-tower case? The Phanteks Evolv X takes dual-system compatibility and squeezes it into a mid-tower. Even with that second Mini-ITX motherboard installed, there’s plenty of room for E-ATX motherboards and power supplies, and ample cooling. It is pricey for a mid-tower case, but with all this functionality, it kind of has to be. It’s thanks to all of these high-end features that the Phanteks Evolv X is one of the best PC cases around today. While you’re at it, we've found the best gaming mouse you can buyNot into gaming? 20. The best laptops and all-in-one PCs all have HD webcams built in these days, but the best PCs are left behind. However, you can pick up one of the best webcams yourself for a similar – or even better – experience than their laptop brethren can offer. So, what should you look for in the best webcams? Well, like most things, it boils down to how you'll use it. Are you looking to do some Twitch streaming? Or, do you just want to chill and have some video calls with friends? From webcams with quirky and beautiful aesthetics to traditional cameras that are all about that sweet fidelity, we found the best webcams on the market right now – no matter what you’re trying to do with them. So, sit back, relax and get ready to find the best webcam for your setup. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/2szpHdbw8TPCEAVviHU4vm.jpg Logitech's newest webcam, the Logitech G922 Pro Stream features the same classy design as the C920 before it, but it’s especially interesting for gamers this time around. The C922 still boasts excellent 1080p video quality when it comes to hosting video calls, and its automatic low-light correction makes it a great cam for streaming with the lights off. It also supports background removal, making it ideal for budding YouTubers. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/NLTFqhoKvSUprJBFQBfnoV.jpg The Razer Kiyo isn’t just a weird-looking webcam, it’s one of the best webcams for streaming – something that’s all the rage these days. However, with the Razer Kiyo, Razer has stripped away a lot of the fancy bells and whistles that higher-end webcams offer and focused on what matters most to game streamers – good image quality and lighting with the special Light Ring. This ensures that you don’t need to spend a ton of time configuring your stream – just plug in the Razer Kiyo and get to work. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/0354a6bcda01aa8dc7d8f95ac0742d31.jpg If you need something cheap and cheerful for Skype, Messenger, Facebook or AOL, Microsoft's LifeCam range offers decent performance for a low price. You don't get 1080p video at this price point, but you do get automatic color correction, a noise-cancelling unidirectional microphone and a stand to fit laptops and desktops alike. It's a cheap way to solve the problem of a PC without a camera or even with a camera that isn't up to snuff. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/bmV4V9X6M2FnEHMdM6H46P.jpg If you’re trying to do some live streaming, or you’re trying to capture the magic of the real world, Mevo might be right up your alley. If you’re an aspiring journalist, you’re going to want to keep an eye on the Mevo or the Mevo Plus, as either of these webcams will let you capture footage live, no matter where you are in the world – as long as you can connect to a mobile network. This space-age webcam has more features than you can shake a stick at, and the high-tech 3D scanner and facial tracking tech promises to lead to some intriguing things in both AR functionality and even gaming. But, unlike traditional webcams, which rely on the PC to do the heavy lifting, this unit does the video encoding itself, which should in turn result in better video quality. The wide, 90-degree field of view means it’s well-suited to business videoconferencing and presentations, and of course it’s Skype-certified for PC and Mac. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/6f7c52a9bb770862e2b40da816b5f085.jpg Samsung smart TV’s aren’t compatible with most of the best webcams. 21. You’ve probably already heard plenty of people out there telling you that the best headphones are the only way to get fantastic sound when using a computer. But, what if you’re not comfortable wearing headphones day-in and day-out? For everyone else, the best computer speakers are a fantastic ideal. Still, like any PC hardware, finding the best computer speakers isn’t quite as easy as you’d think. Before you decide on the best computer speakers for you, there are a few questions you should ask yourself. What do they sound like? Is the surround or stereo separation up to snuff? Do you start to get a headache after a couple minutes? Do they have balanced sound? These are all important questions to ask. You need to also think about what you’ll be listening to. Do you just want to get into some of the best PC games like Battlefield V, where you need to hear what’s going on around you? Are you binging Marvel films, cause you saw that Avengers: Endgame trailer, and can’t control your hype? Or, maybe, you just want to sit back and listen to Janelle Monae’s Dirty Computer over and over, because it’s obviously album of the year. No matter what you use them for, you can find the best computer speakers right here, so you can enjoy every sound your computer makes. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/zjtHMcEuosviH2UVY6eSVP.jpg Sure, the Audioengine A2+ launched four years ago, but they’re still the best computer speakers on the market. These aesthetically pleasing speakers will work with your PC’s USB port for uncompressed audio and beautiful audio quality with its built-in DAC. The Audioengine A2+ doesn’t come with a bass, but that’s not a problem unless you need really deep bass. Luckily, there is an RCA output, so it’s a breeze to connect an external woofer. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/cMMLKZ9NGa2UekRfXfC4XR.jpg While they may be more expensive than you’d expect to pay for the brand’s speakers, the Logitech Z623 is still very affordable when you consider just how powerful they are. The Z623 may look like your average pair of speakers, but its subwoofer produces a thundering sound that can easily dialed up or down depending on your preference. And, it offers a great soundstage – with great highs and mids – making for a more immersive gaming and movie experience. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/9jnDLnGKRGySkxHBx8a3km.jpg Logitech is practically a household name in home entertainment and gaming, but never before has it combined the two so spectacularly. The first Logitech computer speakers designed for gaming, the Logitech G560 are the best computer speakers for gaming – no contest. Not only do they feature RGB lighting, but through Logitech’s software, the multi-colored illumination can adapt to any kind of content you consume – whether it’s your favorite game, or the latest music. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/rR39u5i96rX4GECrJaD92P.jpg One of the first things you might notice about the Razer Nommo Pro speakers is their immense price tag. We get it, it’s kind of hard to swallow. However, once you get past that and get a chance to use these in person, you’ll see that the sound is worth forking over 500 bucks. Not only do you get a robust down-firing subwoofer that’ll almost literally blow you away, but it also features Razer Chroma integration, so they’ll look just as good as they sound. For it's low, low price, this Bluetooth speaker is nothing amazing; not a lot of bass and there’s a bit of delay, but the audio quality good enough if your listening standards aren’t quite as demanding. However, what you’re getting in exchange are its wireless functionality, the USB charging port so you can charge the device, and the built-in mic so you can use it for conference calls. Well, they sound good for a premium pair of speakers, but there are drawbacks including thinner mid range, and high bass cut off at 70 Hz, which means while there’s good bass presence, you might be missing the really low stuff. The pros, however, include the acoustic foam pads to isolate the speakers from the surface it’s standing on, and the front auxiliary input. 22. For too long, we were stuck buying one of the best hard drives when we wanted to expand our computer’s storage. However, with their spinning disks and slow transfer speeds, they haven’t aged well. And, you don’t even need to rock one of the best PCs to take advantage of the best SSDs. The best Ultrabooks are practically designed to take advantage of the best SSDs, thanks to their unrivaled durability and speed. You can even slot one of the best SSDs into a PS4 Pro to seriously slash loading times. When you’re on the market for one of the best SSDs, you’ll probably notice that there are a lot of them out there. This is great for anyone on a budget, because there’s a wide spread in price points. However, because there are so many SSDs out there – literally hundreds of them – it can be hard to find the best SSD for your needs. Luckily, we took the time to curate a list of the best SSDs you can buy today. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/jitGCnhBpZoqiLikZmNUnL.jpg Samsung’s Evo line of SSDs just continues to get better, and the Samsung 970 Evo is no exception. Building on the already-impressive performance of the 960 Evo and even out-powering the higher-end 960 Pro, this drive will make short work of any file transfer. And, now that it’s available with up to 2TB of storage, you’ll never have to worry about running out of space either. Read the full review: Samsung 970 Evo http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/gWQymK2oRoKmW6mjRRiu98.jpg When you’re playing the best PC games, there’s nothing worse than having the action stop for a load screen (we’re looking at you, Half-Life 2). Luckily, with the WD Black NVMe SSD, you can basically say goodbye to long loading screens forever, as this drive absolutely blows the pants off of every other SSD in its price range. At just under $300 you won’t find a faster drive that will last as long as the WD Black NVMe SSD. We can say without a doubt that this is the best SSD for gaming. Trust us on this one. Read the full review: WD Black NVMe SSD http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/si6CBKGVNhJFwpHzLAsXsN.jpg For years, Samsung has been behind some of the best SSDs on the market, and even though other manufacturers like Western Digital and Adata are creeping up on its turf, the Samsung 970 Evo is still the best SSD you can buy if you’re after raw speed. And, while the read speeds haven’t improved over the previous generation’s 960 Pro, the write speeds see a significant bump – up to 2,700MB/s – which is how it retains its ‘fastest SSD’ crown. If you’re after the best SSD, with no compromises, you can’t go wrong with the Samsung 970 Pro. Read the full review: Samsung 970 Pro http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/Uq7HTTr4PbM7ia6LbaqCCb.jpg If you're looking for plenty of options, the Toshiba OCZ RD400 series of drives come in 4 sizes and three different form factors: M.2, M.2 2280, and add-in card (AIC). Not all sizes are in all form factors, so if you're looking for a fast 1TB drive, make sure you have room in your computer case. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/VWBYHoG2wtxrGi33yfUoaT.jpg If you’ve been waiting to jump on the M.2 train for an SSD that’s both fast and affordable, we have some good news for you. The Adata XPG SX8200 isn’t one of the best SSDs because it’s the fastest drive on the market, but because there isn’t a single drive out there that can match the raw price to performance ratio that the XPG SX8200 offers. Sure you can get any of the much faster, much more expensive SSDs on the market, but this is the drive we can recommend to anyone.to anyone. Read the full review: Adata XPG SX8200 http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/yXo5hdAcZytCPawmzFeDEM.jpg People might not be going crazy about SATA 3 anymore, but the Samsung 860 Pro proves that there’s still plenty of life in the aging interface after all. With storage up to 4TB and transfer speeds that approach the theoretical maximum of the SATA 3 interface and top-of the-line reliability and security – the Samsung 860 Pro is the best SSD for anyone still clinging to SATA 3. Read the full review: Samsung 860 Pro http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/CWwZptgvKSkodF3VmJTdBb.jpg The U.2 standard allows for bigger SSD capacities and uses your computer's PCIe x4 slot to send all that data back and forth. The Intel 750 series includes a cable so you can mount the drive in the bay on your case and still plug it into the PCIe slot on your motherboard. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/BZFeqrxB3hxavepHrd9jC5.jpg Samsung had a hard act to follow – the Samsung 850 Evo was beloved for its stunning performance and affordability. And, the Samsung 860 Evo absolutely succeeded. Though limited by the SATA3 interface, the Samsung 860 Evo delivers performance that iterates on its predecessor with improved read/write speeds and an array of form factors, while still maintaining its budget price. The 860 Evo is the best SSD for anyone looking for an entry-level SSD without having to break open their piggy banks. Read the full review: Samsung 860 Evo http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/v9h6hfXC3Mg9czVJZtmeBb.jpg If you need an SSD that will last through multiple computers, the HP S700 Pro is exactly what you want. Its life will far exceed its warranty, offering up to 2 million hours of use and up to 650 terabytes written. This is one of the best SSDs you can buy if you need something that’ll last, but the SATA interface may slow things down a bit in the read/write department, which technically helps it last even longer. This product is only available in the US and UK at the time of this writing. Australian readers: check out a fine alternative in the Samsung 860 Evo http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/ZZphKfQ35vGNQ6gFzNCHPL.jpg The best NVMe SSDs used to be way too expensive for most users. But, those days are coming to an end – the Intel 760p Series SSD changes everything. This SSD features awesome performance that’s only slightly behind the beloved Samsung 960 Evo, boasting speeds of 3,056 MB/s read and 1,606 MB/s write. But, what makes the 760p stand out is the fantastic price to performance ratio. Yeah, there are faster NVMe drives on the market, but you’ll be paying a premium that, frankly, isn’t worth it. This is one of the best SSDs out there, not just because it’s fast, but because the Intel 760p makes us excited about the future. Read the full review: Intel 760p Series SSD http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/76GF92P58b8Vvcto7dG5ji.jpg If you’re a creative or a professional, and you need an external NVMe SSD that’s going to save you time rather than waste it, you might want to give the Samsung X5 Portable SSD a look. Thanks to its use of Thunderbolt 3, rugged magnesium build and AES 256-bit encryption, it’s fast, secure and durable – everything you want in an external SSD. However, this isn’t a cheap accessory, this is one of the best SSDs and it’s priced as such. Everyday users may want to look elsewhere, this is all about sheer speed. Check out what printers made it into our top 10 best business printer rounduphttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/eWUaJXnZjzGEvTRjtsqF7N.jpg MakerBot Replicator+ The MakerBot Replicator+ is the successor to the popular MakerBot Replicator 3D printer, and the new version has brought improvements to nearly every part of the Replicator. This means the Replicator+ is faster and quieter than the previous version, while maintaining its excellent design and safety features. This desktop 3D printer is expensive, but it offers excellent print quality, and uses 1.75mm polylactic acid (PLA) filament. It's also user-friendly enough for home users and hobbyists to use - as long as your budget can stretch to the high asking price. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/6UvgxqrGYzGWM3ns7XrCyV.jpg XYZprinting da Vinci Mini If you're looking for a budget 3D printer, then there really is no better option than the XYZprinting da Vinci Mini. It remains one of the most affordable ways to get into 3D printing, and also the easiest, thanks to an easy-to-use interface. Just because it's a budget model, doesn't mean it doesn't produce good results, and the 3D printed objects it creates are very impressive considering the price - and size - of this 3D printer. Speaking of size, the XYZprinting da Vinci Mini is an impressively compact printer that makes it easy to store in an office or on a desk. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/SUvV4WP4NfVQpm6UCtdQPb.jpg Ultimaker 2+ The Ultimaker 2+ is a 3D printer that offers amazing print quality, making it one of the best 3D printers for professional use. It is incredibly reliable when it comes to producing 3D models, and the accuracy of the 3D replications is incredibly impressive. If you need a 3D printer that can reliably reproduce many 3D objects accurately, this is a fantastic choice. However, it is expensive, and the fact that it is aimed at professional environments means it's less beginner-friendly than some of the other 3D printers here. Home users are better off looking elsewhere. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/WXcLRznC45JBKAh7HLjSvg.jpg Formlabs Form 2 The Formlabs Form 2 is an excellent 3D printer for enthusiasts who don't mind paying extra to get the very best print quality. It's a beautifully-designed 3D printer, and can be connected to PCs via USB, Wi-Fi and Ethernet. It doesn't quite have the print reliability of the Ultimaker 2+, but the print quality more than makes up for a few errors. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/LJVPRHNEfJhsoHbyBWYgi.jpg M3D Micro 3D Printer The M3D Micro 3D Printer is an excellent 3D printer for beginners. Its low price means you're not investing lots of money if you're not entirely sure 3D printing is for you, while the compact, cube, design means it can be easily placed within the home or office. It looks good, and is impressively quiet when in use. The print quality isn't the best, however, and it is only able to make small models (not too surprising, considering the diminutive size). However, if you're looking for your first 3D printer, this is an excellent choice. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/ykscj5U4roKtbvKzhWhPm8.jpg FlashForge Creator Pro 2017 The FlashForge Creator Pro 2017 is the best 3D printer that sits between budget 3D printers and expensive professional models. It's a lot cheaper than pro models, though it maintains the build quality and reliability that you'd come to expect from a professional 3D printer. It's not quite as cheap as the budget and beginner models in this list, but it offers greater accuracy when printing 3D models. It is a tad noisy in use, however. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/35fThqZTEDx9ysGh9fnrnF.jpg LulzBot Mini If you're looking for a first 3D printer to learn the ropes with, then the LulzBot Mini is another excellent choice. It's got a decent price, and is easy to use, though the print speed is quite slow. The hardware is open source, which means it has a flexibility that propitiatory hardware lacks, as a committed community of makers can work together to create add-ons for the printer. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/8abc4e4f2330e9b92813d139259c4337.jpg CubePro Trio The bulk of home 3D printers are limited to one- or two-colour printing, but the CubePro Trio has the capability to print three different materials in one session. This can be especially useful if you want to create an enclosed mechanism: nylon can be used for the gears, ABS for the surround and PLA for the support structure that can then be dissolved with caustic soda. The CubePro is an ideal solution for modellers and engineers who need to create 3D prints with moving parts. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/d4322f39bdfde11c1a69e0295c0ec368.jpg BEEVERYCREATIVE – BEETHEFIRST+ In general terms 3D printers are designed as boxes with purpose, however BeeTheFirst has created a printer with both quality of print and actual design in mind – this is a machine that really wouldn't look out of place in a modern living room. BeeTheFirst has also thought about how and where people will be wanting to use their printers – at work, home or both – and has incorporated a thin design with a handle that enables the printer to be easily transported. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/5fac122d30f233db01e5152ee615e0b2.jpg Lulzbot Taz 6 Initially you might be hard pressed to see the differences between the Taz 5 and 6; both feature a solid open frame build, large print base and ease of use. However take a closer look at the refinements in design and improvements in usability and the upgrades quickly stand out. Features such as the auto leveling base has evolved from the one featured on the Luzbot Mini and works just as well on this larger scale, and the slight changes to frame layout and control panel are all welcome. The Taz 6 is a big machine with an impressive print area of 280mm x 280mm x 250mm, with a 0.5mm nozzle capable of a minimum layer height of 75 microns and takes 2.85mm filament. 24. The best portable projectors allow you to easily carry around the device in a bag, or even in your hands, letting you quickly and easily set it up while you're travelling. This makes them excellent devices for professionals who travel a lot, and ideal for presentations. Of course, they can also be used for entertainment as well, giving you an impressively large screen to watch movies or play games on. When buying the best portable projector for your needs, there are certain things you should look out for. First of all is connectivity. Most should have HDMI, which will let you plug in almost any device into it, though some will have a mini HDMI port, so you'll need a special cable. Others have USB, and some are wireless, which makes broadcasting from your smartphone or tablet easy. Some of the best portable projectors also have batteries, which makes them easy to place for optimum image quality. You should also check to see if a portable projector has built-in speakers. If it does, it means that's one less thing to carry around with you, but don't go expecting cinema-like sound quality from those small speakers. Also, make a note of maximum screen size and resolution. Many portable projectors can project large images, especially considering their small size. As well as listing the best portable projectors, we also have our very own price comparison tool that will help you find the best prices as well. Best home cinema projectorshttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/Fo6G7dRBvRdReUzX8ojP7.jpg The Philips PicoPix PPX4010 is impressively small, even by portable projector standards. It's so small, that you wonder what use case demands it be that small, aside from it being able to easily fit into a your briefcase, or even a jacket pocket. It features an easy setup and is able to project content only drawing power via USB. The Philips PicoPix PPX4010 has a 100 lumens brightness, which means it doesn't have to be used in pitch black conditions to see. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/ab98f559ef146f57d9aeedf5f69f8f53.jpg The ML750e by Optoma is a lot more powerful than the pocket-sized PicoPix from Phillips, but it's not quite as small. Still, it weighs just 380g with a small footprint that makes this easy to carry around. The differences in size between this and the PicoPix are negligible for the power you get in return: a 700 Lumens lamp that lets you present in rooms that aren't completely darkened. The Optoma ML750e is one of the best portable projectors in the world thanks to its impressive range of ports. It comes with one MHL-ready HDMI input, a USB 2.0 slot for thumbdrives, a universal I/O slot, and a microSD card slot. The ML550 handled our 90-inch test screen with impressive results, and peaked at a 60-inch-or-so size. However, you need to buy a dongle for Wi-Fi access. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/eFGMHrssYx3LffuMSMdvVd.jpg Usually when you choose a portable business projector you have to make a few sacrifices in order to have such a small device – but that's not the case with the Epson EB-S41. Its 3,300 lumen brightness is much brighter than many other portable projectors, and means you have more flexibility when setting up the EB-S31 in environments where there is still ambient light. The EB-S41 is small and light enough to carry around with you on business trips, but it also has a very large projection size – up to 300 inches – which makes this an incredibly versatile portable business projector. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/LqH6HpbznRa6MpTVoMfk7i.jpg The LG Minibeam PH550G is a brilliant portable projector that's ideal people who often work on the road thanks to its compact size. It's also wireless as well, allowing you to connect a smartphone or tablet to it, and showcase your presentations or media quickly and easily. This is great for impromptu meetings, and despite its small stature, it offers brilliant image and sound quality. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/gTMZSJbcRDnSw4L4QXkFfG.jpg The Asus ZenBeam E1 is a beautifully designed pocket projector that's small and light enough to carry around with you if you often make presentations on the road - or if you like to watch movies while travelling. Despite its small size, it can project images up to 120 inches in size, and it has a built-in 6,000mAh battery that can power the projector for up to 5 hours, which makes it rather flexible, as you don't have to worry about finding a plug socket to power the device. In a rather nice touch, the projector can also double as a power bank for other mobile devices. The Asus ZenBeam E1 isn't the most powerful portable projector, but its versatility, ease of setup and eye catching design gives it a place on our list of best business projectors. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/e0389f6bdb182be95d7e2ff6a8e7de05.jpg The ViewSonic PLED-W800 is an excellent performer and one of the best portable projectors money can buy, weighing in at 830g and measuring 175 x 138 x 51.5mm (W x D x H). With a lamp that can reach up to 800 lumens, you can still run a presentation in whatever room you can bring it to, provided you can shade the windows and lower the lighting. It comes with an SD Card slot, a USB slot, an MHL-ready HDMI input (for connecting DVD/Blu-ray players and also smartphones/tablets) and a VGA input for laptops. Want something more cinema-focussed? 25. A man from Columbus, Ohio has reported that his three-week-old iPhone XS Max caught fire in his pocket while inside a case – causing smoke, the burning of his skin, and a dead iPhone that Apple has since offered to replace. Apparently when the melted handset was taken into an Apple Store, they were at a loss to explain exactly what had gone on, iDrop News reports. The man involved says he's less than happy with Apple's response to the incident, quite aside from selling him an iPhone that seemed to catch fire without any kind of trigger. For now this is only an isolated incident – and one that hasn't been verified by Apple – so it's far too early to start putting your own iPhone XS Max in the fridge for safe keeping. You can see one of the photos of the burned phone below. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/vr58Y4zjGMwVztUBjzi27Z.jpg Credit: iDrop News / J. Hillard There is precedent for this of course: Samsung had to recall the Galaxy Note 7 in 2016 after it was found to have a defective battery problem that could cause it to ignite, while one iPhone X did catch on fire late last year. Even with all the safety precautions and testing routines that modern-day smartphones go through, it seems that occasional incidents like this can't be eliminated completely. If Apple responds officially to the news or there are any further updates in the case of the melting iPhone XS Max from Ohio, we'll post them here. With only one report in the wild though, we wouldn't expect this to develop into a major safety issue – so you're fine to keep on using your 2018 iPhone as normal. As for what Apple is working on for next year, we've got some ideas on that too. Best iPhone 2018: which Apple phone is the best?http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/software-news/~4/mGW441qh4Kw
