  1. A thought.

     

    Change the name of the pk3 file. Add something like ~~~1bmfsays.pk3.

     

    This is because the pk3 files can get loaded in a certain order. So your pk3 is loaded then over written by the defaults inside the silent pk3 file.

    That squiggly character in front of the filename fixed it!  Thanks!!!! /connect badmotherfuckers.net and see for yourself! =)

  2. I thought ET couldn't allocate more than 192 hunkmegs anyway?

     

    Also for simplicity I suggest putting things like tyranny, omnibot, mapcycle cfg in the server config. And where's the port? Does it automatically set to default if you don't define a port? I've never run only 1 ET server on a server so wouldn't know..

     

    I think most people use serverctl or something else but here's mine:

    As for the soundpack.. did you place that pk3 in the mod's directory in the server?

    I am able to play all sounds via /rcon yet I cannot get the custom vsay menu to show up despite all the scripts being existent...

     

    That's the last problem I'm dealing with atm is some kind of scripting error in a .menu file... fairly certain it's within this file: http://waffenss-inc.com/etfiles/silent/BMFvsays.pk3

  3. Will check what's wrong over the weekend.. or tonight cos it's not 5 mins work. At least not for me cos it been ages i made sound pack even for my clan. So I will get u going over the weekend. (No Promises cos real life comes first)

     

    PS: Dedicated server for Perl is over kill. SSD KVM VPS works instead of that :) Just a suggestion.

    I use my dedi for many purposes bro, hosting and ET are just the 2 major uses =)

  4. I grabbed the soundpack from DRI yes, but once it's working I am definitely going to be adding my own sound clips lol

     

    This is a scripting error and I need to check where it's failing.  First and foremost merge your 2 pk3's to one. With 2 different ones it's hard to debug what's wrong. 

     

    You are using DRi sound pack.. or that's what i noticed from your files...I will need to fire up my test server to see what's wrong with your pk3.. 

    I had them merged into one initially...i split them into 2 because I thought it might be easier.... :/

    I think it would be beneficial to note that I can play all the sounds from /rcon playsound sound/hello2.wav (etc etc)

     

    Something in the script is wrong within that .menu file I think?

  6. Look for connect messages in our server logs.  You can get both the old PBGUID and silent GUID from there.

    Yes, this is a great community!  Nice that our beloved ET still has life after all these years, due to the dedication of you and the rest of the silEnT staff.

    I wouldn't be able to setup this server properly without the help from you awesome community members.  If all of this goes well I am definitely donating to this community.

  7. I would love to do that but I don't know where the server log file is (sorry that must seem really stupid)  I can't find it either! =(

     

    Also WOLF ET WILL NEVER DIE!  I will do my part to make sure of it.  I'm creating an 'adult' server by myself.  I mostly sit around coding perl all day but I have a nice dedi I figure I could use for keeping wolf-et alive. =) 

     

    Once I get these custom vsays going I might make a single website to address the more pressing issues and host a wolf et installation mirror as well

  9. If you previously had an ETPub server, you can add the old admins to the silEnT database usig this method. You need to copy the admin blocks from the ETPub shrubbot.cfg to a file named admins.cfg and place that file to the database folder. When you issue the !readadmins command, the admin blocks are read from the admins.cfg file and added to the silEnT database.

    Yes, the problem is I need to see what an example admins.cfg file actually looks like...I can't seem to find an example one anywhere via google!  =(

  10. You need to put the admin blocks into a separate file named admins.cfg. Then you need to use the !readadmins command. The !readconfig command does not recognize admin blocks. The reason for that is that if it would, it would overwrite all the changes made with the online admin commands.

    What do I put into admins.cfg, and where would I put that file exactly?  Is there examples somewhere?

  12. It doesn't work through UI, haven't tested it though via rcon.  I'm still a bit of a novice at this!  How would I do it through rcon?  Maybe you can /connect badmotherfuckers.net and help me out?  I didn't see any error message though!  Thanks for the quick response too!

     

    Just checked /rcon and I don't see any option to test whether or not I have appropriately used proper filestructures within my custom pk3 files.  Tried testing /vsay FTFuckYou blah but nothing happened at all! =(
