What I would pay attention to is the provider's network quality and how quickly support responds, since those tend to matter more than raw specs once things are running. I would also check whether they offer snapshots and easy backups, as that has saved me trouble before. Which use case are you planning for, a single site or several services? Network quality is the other thing I'd weigh heavily, since a cheap plan with shaky routing gets frustrating fast. If you're only hosting one site, even a modest instance will likely be plenty, but if you plan to add several services later, start with more RAM than you think you need.
