  1. Being a bug for a long time doesn't stop it from being a bug.
  2. This would output a working MOTD: set server_motd0 "^7test blabla" set server_motd1 "^7stuff" set server_motd2 "^7aguhsdgshb" set server_motd3 "" set server_motd4 "" set server_motd5 "" Skipping lines in MOTD makes entire MOTD go blank when connecting to server: set server_motd0 "^7test blabla" set server_motd1 "" set server_motd2 "" set server_motd3 "^7stuff" set server_motd4 "^7aguhsdgshb" set server_motd5 ""
  3. It outputs exactly what I have in the config. This fixed it thankyou
  4. Whenever I connect to my silent server the MOTD doesn't display at all. I'm using three of the available lines and no matter which lines I try it doesn't show up at all. No, I'm not using black text. IT looks like this in the config: set server_motd0 "" set server_motd1 "message 1" set server_motd2 "message 2" set server_motd3 "" set server_motd4 "message 3" set server_motd5 "" But with color codes applied, and slightly longer messages. Including spaces, color codes, and all other characters the motds have a max length of 32 in my config. I have two lua modules which I've tried disabling and still have the issue. Silent version is 0.8.2. Here's some output from the console: anny\1\g_heavyWeaponRestriction\100\g_gametype\6\g_antilag\1\g_voteFlags\0\g_alliedmaxlives\0\g_axismaxlives\0\g_minGameClients\0\g_needpass\1\g_maxlives\0\g_friendlyFire\0\sv_allowAnonymous\0\sv_floodProtect\0\sv_maxPing\0\sv_minPing\0\sv_maxRate\45000\sv_hostname\^fNsA Silent ^7NoBots 100k XPS\sv_privateClients\0\mapname\adlernest\protocol\84\timelimit\15\version\ET 3.00 - TB 0.7.1 - 2.60b compatible linux-i386\sv_maxclients\28 Start of round. 5. I expected this response The thing is sometimes I accidentally tap it because anyone who actually knows how to move fast sometimes hits the key a little earlier than they wanted to. Also when you have a keyboard like mine that bottoms out the keys it's easy to not realize I'm still holding the key down part way and then put more pressure on it by mistake causing the jump function to send again. Either way, the point is that sometimes I double jump on servers I don't want to double jump on. Even if it's only a cvar and not included in the menus I'd like it alot. I'm wondering if anyone else would appreciate this feature.
  6. Would be nice to see an option where each player can decide if he wants to deactivate doublejump for himself only, so if he were to double-tap the jump key there'd be no double jump.
  7. Sorry for the bump, but I have to say.. I never really tried it because the server ended up going down before I had the chance and I just now tried it out and it works flawlessly. Thanks for putting aside our beef and sharing something nice with me.
  8. yes, it has nothing to do with the path.. the problem was resolved before anyone replied to my original post.. the point is that with the "!" flag added to permissions the playsound greeting won't work on anyone that level.
  9. oh yea, I just had that issue when I named my pk3 wrong the other day, how did i not think of that
  10. I thought ET couldn't allocate more than 192 hunkmegs anyway? Also for simplicity I suggest putting things like tyranny, omnibot, mapcycle cfg in the server config. And where's the port? Does it automatically set to default if you don't define a port? I've never run only 1 ET server on a server so wouldn't know.. I think most people use serverctl or something else but here's mine: screen -dmS silent ./et300 +set dedicated 2 +set net_ip x.x.x.x +set net_port 27960 +set net_port_extra 27961 +set sv_maxclients 28 +set com_hunkmegs 192 +set fs_game silent +set fs_homepath /home/et/silent +exec silent.cfgAs for the soundpack.. did you place that pk3 in the mod's directory in the server?
  11. If you have any errors in the server console or log during the crash, posting those would be helpful as well. If there are no errors you could still post the output because it may be useful.
  12. Yes the greeting text always functions normally.
  13. Found out the "!" flag for the shrubbot admin level prevents the sound from working.
  14. I have an odd issue where whenever I connect to my server my sound won't play. I've tried setting it to a sound confirmed as working on another person but for some reason it just wont play. It says it was set successfully and I can even play it through the server's console but no sounds will play when attached to my silentID.
  15. wow thanks I'll try it out in a little, though.. I already sat and created a voicemenu script
  16. Yea, I'm referring to the way BECK has it. Yes the limit is still 63 for custom commands. The command block for shrubbot is how I already had it, but I don't have that lua and I guess he won't share it so this can be closed thanks all.
  17. I saw on IOW server they have "!play x" where x is the name of the wav file. I'm wondering if there's some lua for this or special way to write the command block into the shrubbot config? How can this be done? Seems like it would be easier than making a custom chat menu.
  18. turns out I wanted limited lives, not LMS
  19. I appreciate the answer but now I'm deciding on wanting to do the same thing but using LMS. I only want one round per map using LMS gametype but I want the mapvoting menu at the end. Could I just replace the 3 with a 5 like this? function et_InitGame(leveltime, randomseed, restart) if( tonumber(et.trap_Cvar_Get("g_gametype")) == 6 ) then et.trap_Cvar_Set("g_gametype", "5") et.trap_Cvar_Set("nextmap", "map_restart 0"); end end function et_IntermissionStarts(round) if (round == 1) then et.trap_Cvar_Set("g_gametype", "6") end end An do I need to change anything else in the script, for example the first line involves "leveltime" and I don't know if that would be needed in LMS.
  20. Before making this change, the connection of the client would hang on first run of the game and I've have to disconnect by pressing ESC then /reconnect. It's still doing that after this change. Now it swaps teams and does round 2, but the timelimit is full instead of the time that was set by the first team (I'm guessing because of the mapname.cfg file modifying the round timelimit?) It also doesn't save XP, and at the end of round 1 as you said. I'd be okay with /callvote method, if there's some easy way to make the silent server just like an etpro scrim server. The features that come with silent are useful for a pub, and etpro lacks those important features.
  21. I tried this and it says the time is set at the end of the round and when the intermission is over it just goes on to the next map in the mapvotecycle. set d1 "set g_gametype 6 ; map adlernest ; set nextmap vstr d2" set d2 "set g_gametype 6 ; map sw_oasis_b3 ; set nextmap vstr d3" set d3 "set g_gametype 6 ; map radar ; set nextmap vstr d4" set d4 "set g_gametype 6 ; map frostbite ; set nextmap vstr d5" set d5 "set g_gametype 6 ; map venice ; set nextmap vstr d6" set d6 "set g_gametype 6 ; map sp_delivery_te ; set nextmap vstr d1" vstr d1Do I need a stopwatch script here instead?
  22. Is it possible to setup a server to use mapvoting but once a map is voted for it will run in ABBA stopwatch mode and save EXP for the entire map but reset once a new map comes on?
  23. This sounds interesting, I'd like something like this too. They already have the faster firing rate so it may be a nice combination.
