Unfortunately, though, it appears that the JC3-MP mod has been officially cancelled. The good news is that its main developer was asked to work at Avalanche Studios; an offer he could not obviously refuse. And that’s exactly why we are trying to bring all modders and artists into the spotlight. Because some of them deserve to be hired by the developers. As Trix wrote in his farewell message: “Good and bad news often come in pairs, and this case is no exception; several months ago, I was approached with an offer I couldn’t refuse: to join Avalanche Studios Sweden as a developer so that I could work on projects present and future. As part of Avalanche, I’ll be able to bring many of the things you know and love from JC2-MP into future Avalanche experiences, while reaching heights that a mere mod couldn’t facilitate. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, neither I or the rest of the team can actively pursue development on JC3-MP; our lives are just too busy to allow for it right now.” This basically means that the nanos JC3:MP mod will be the only multiplayer mod for Just Cause 3.   8. Doom 3 fans, here is something special for you today. Modder ‘VGames’ has released a new version of his Perfected mod for Doom 3. Perfected Doom 3 attempts to completely overhaul the entire game with new monsters, rebalanced weapons, rebalanced monster stats, better graphics, new gameplay features. This new version of Perfected Doom 3 comes with various gameplay improvements, balance tweaks for a number of weapons, dynamic lighting effects to various enemies, HD skins for all characters, monsters, weapons, and items, High Poly models for all characters, monsters, items, and some of the weapon view models, as well as a new gibbing system that causes some of the smaller enemies to get blown to bits by the rocket launcher and handgrenade or have their flesh vaporized by the Plasmagun, BFG, and Soulcube. Do note that this mod only works with the original Doom 3 retail version, and is not compatible with the Steam BFG version. Those interested can download Perfected Doom 3 V7 from here. And here is a part of the huge changelog for Perfected Doom 3 V7: * NEW IN VERSION 7 * = WEAPONS/ITEMS = -General- All weapons make blood splatter on the screen when attacking monsters at close range. Completely removed the Flashlight from the game. All weapons have a melee attack for close quarters combat. Added more push to several of the player weapons. Adrenaline Powerups and Berserk Powerups will both give you the Berserk Powerup abilities but you decide when to use them and you can only hold one at a time in your inventory. All maps loaded from the New Game Menu except for the Mars City 1 map will not start a new game and will load the player inventory correctly. Went through every single height map setting for every single skin and texture and set them back to their original settings and then doubled them. Edited the Mars City Underground “Flashlight Tip” to reflect the fact that it has been completely removed from the game. Added all singleplayer and multiplayer maps from the awesome mod In Hell and reset several of its textures to use better ones. High Poly models have been added for all characters, monsters, items, and some of the weapon view models. Self-shadowing has been removed on all character, monster, weapon, item, and map object models. Increased player jump height a bit. Increased player run speed a bit. Ammo casings and general debris stay on the floor for 5 minutes before disappearing. Adjusted the camera in third person to be more like Gears of War. The Grab Command has been disabled. Added a chance that a Pumpshotgun will be replaced by a Double Barrel Shotgun in any given map. Armor Protection Ratio increased. New gibbing system added to the game that will cause cause some of the smaller enemies to get blown to bits by the rocket launcher and handgrenade or have their flesh vaporized by the Plasmagun, BFG, and Soulcube. = BUGS FIXED = Fixed the Mars City Underground scripted events that didn’t work correctly. Fixed a crash in 3rd map – Return to Mars City. The Sabaoth’s death scene game crashing bug that occured when a Soulknight was present has been fixed. A reminder of that fact turned up today in a video posted to Reddit that is purportedly a "canceled/unfinished" trailer for the game. It obviously isn't an official release, and it might actually be old material: The game is referred to as "Doom 4" in the video label, and "Fight Like Hell" is the title of the live-action teaser Bethesda released a couple of months ago. But it does look legit, and more importantly, it looks good. The multiplayer beta didn't really knock my socks off, but this has the appearance of something I'd actually like to play. The new video is about four minutes long and shows a rather spooky run through a cornfield. That makes sense since the video is called “cornfield chase.” There have been a number of survival horror games released in the last few years, probably because the current generation of consoles and PCs are able to bring graphics that are quite a bit more impressive and realistic. This video shows the game through the viewfinder of a video camera, has played a big part in the first game. Earlier this year, the developers released a couple of new screenshots while also talking about the fact that they are able to take a bit more time with Outlast 2. Some of the specific changes coming to Halo 5's campaign include increasing difficulty for single-player and reducing difficulty for co-op. In both cases, the difficulty changes are described as "slight." Additionally, Warden attacks should now be "a little" easier to dodge, in particular on lower difficulties. Below is a rundown of changes coming to Halo 5's campaign. Note that enemy-specific changes also apply to Warzone's AI characters. In other news about Halo 5, the beta for the recently released Warzone Firefight beta has been extended by a day. Escape from Tarkov features five skill categories, and each skill upgrade is repetition-based: the more a character performs a certain action – the better he becomes at it. In short, a player’s actions directly influence their character by upgrading the most essential and frequently used skills. The skill system in Escape from Tarkov is designed to be a bit different from everything what you may have seen so far in the majority of RPG projects, and moreover, it is designed so that it does not interfere with the core gameplay. In the skills interface, each skill icon features a small colored letter – and all of them have their own meaning. The digits at the bottom of a skill icon reflect skill level and progress. Skill upgrades are repetition-based, and, by performing any action, you are gradually upgrading the respective skill or skills, thus making consecutive performance better, quicker and more accurate. As a result, your character will only improve in the skills that you use during gameplay. Additionally, on every experience level gained, you will be granted an opportunity to level up one skill at your own discretion. If the player does not make use of a certain skill, it will eventually lose levels. Skills can’t, however, be “forgotten” absolutely; unused skills are rolled back/forgotten to a predetermined minimum level, and, the player can level them back up to where they were by simply making use of them. The skills system is also designed so that a skill weakened by dis-use can return to the “forgotten” level more quickly than if you were first learning it. After reaching a particularly high skill level, an “elite” skill level is unlocked, which features various bonus perks – which are, of course, very helpful. Below is an example of several skills and their impact on gameplay: Health:· This skill levels up in particular order – first Strength, then Endurance and finally – Vitality. Skill bonuses for the character include a reduced chance of fracture, higher out-of-combat recovery speed and reduced energy consumption and dehydration speed.   24. Quantum Break was announced for PC in February with surprisingly high recommended PC specs. Those recommended specs have since been revised, and now we know exactly how we'll be able to tinker around with the time-manipulating shooter's graphical settings. Developer Remedy Entertainment revealed the PC version's settings on its website today. Quantum Break has the basics like texture resolution, SSAO, and effects quality, as well as shadow resolution, volumetric lighting, and anti-aliasing. However, it's worth nothing that the only options for anti-aliasing seem to be "on" and "off." Other settings allow you to lock the game at 30 FPS, turn off the HUD, and play it at 4K resolution. You can check out all of the settings in the images below. You'll be able to manage all of these settings when Quantum Break hits the Windows Store for Windows 10 on April 5.   25. The Kickstarter campaign for World War 2 first-person shooter Battalion 1944 ended this week, bringing in £317,218 ($451,000) from more than 10,000 backers. The game raised its target £100,000 ($142,000) in just a few days, and the final funding figure is 317 percent of goal. "The reason these stretch goals were placed at such a high price is because characters cost a lot to make. We aren't cutting corners on this game AT ALL," executive producer Joe Brammer said. "If we want to join the ranks alongside Activision and DICE we need to build quality like they do, this costs money. For us to design entire character sets, all the customizations that go with it, custom faces, weapons, voice overs, implementing them into the game, maps, environments, and in some cases game modes, that all costs money." Brammer went on to say that some "very big publishers" have reached out to Bulkhead in recent weeks to presumably discuss a publishing deal that might allow for the British and Russian armies to make it into the game. Brammer explained that these companies (he didn't divulge their names) are player-focused and would not force Bulkhead to give up its creative control. "Although we aren't at liberty to say who, we can say they're loved by their communities and they understand how important it is to a team and a community like ours to retain 100 percent creative control over a game like Battalion 1944," he said. "They have no intentions and nor do we have ANY intentions of just giving up the design and creativity behind the Battalion franchise. The game will always 100 percent remain ours, built together with the community." Some Bulkhead team members will travel to San Francisco for the Game Developers Conference this month to meet with some potential partners. "In short, be patient and have faith! Because at the end of the day, do you think we don't want to add them?!" Brammer said about the British and Russian armies. One of the other stretch goals (£1.2 million) was for a single-player campaign, but this was not met and Bulkhead didn't say anything about its mysterious publishing deal covering this. Although Kickstarter funding for Battalion 1944 has ended, Bulkhead will open a PayPal "slacker backer" page in the weeks ahead. It will be open for one week only and supporters will be able to get some of the Kickstarter rewards. After this, Bulkhead will open an official Battalion 1944 store, where people will be able to purchase the game for a "higher but still discounted preorder price." Supporters can also pay for access to the game's upcoming alpha and beta tests, though, again, this will be at a higher price than Kickstarter and PayPal. The multiplayer shooter aims to capture the "core of classic multiplayer shooters" while using the "most advanced industry technology."
