ETsneak
http://mygamingtalk.com/wiki/index.php/Silent_Mod_Server_Cvar#g_friendlyFireOpts I have this set to 12 and I've tried 8 as well assuming that maybe 4 means that it enables self damage from the engy who planted it. No matter if I use 12 or not, the engy who planted the mine can set it off and friendly fire is disabled. Is there a way to fix this? (It's not the host's fault) My entire FF cvars straight from the config: set g_friendlyFire "0" set g_friendlyFireOpts "12" set g_reflectFriendlyFire "0" set g_reflectFFWeapons "31" set g_teamDamageRestriction "55" set g_minHits "15" Edited February 11, 2015 by ETsneak
Management TheSilencerPL Posted February 11, 2015 Management Share Posted February 11, 2015 Could you write what you want to achieve, not what you tried and failed? Do you want to disable landmine triggering by engie? It's not clear what you want.
ETsneak
Could you write what you want to achieve, not what you tried and failed? Do you want to disable landmine triggering by engie? It's not clear what you want. It's clear in the title that I want to remove the self-damage from mines for the player who planted them. I also stated that the engineer who plants the mine can trigger it and damage himself and I asked how to fix that. Based on these two things I figure it's clear I want to prevent engineers from being able to trip their own landmines.
Management gaoesa Posted February 11, 2015 Management Share Posted February 11, 2015 No matter if I use 12 or not, the engy who planted the mine can set it off and friendly fire is disabled. Is there a way to fix this?So you want to enable friendly fire on mines? More seriously, I don't think there is a way to disable self damage from weapons. This doesn't concern only mines but also grenades and other explosives. Based on these two things I figure it's clear I want to prevent engineers from being able to trip their own landmines. There is no such option to disable the engineer from triggering their own landmine. They need to be able to trigger it for defusing. Tripmines are different as those can be defused without triggering. Dragonji

Sorry, forgot about the title The rest is as gaoesa has stated.
ETsneak
So you want to enable friendly fire on mines? More seriously, I don't think there is a way to disable self damage from weapons. This doesn't concern only mines but also grenades and other explosives. There is no such option to disable the engineer from triggering their own landmine. They need to be able to trigger it for defusing. Tripmines are different as those can be defused without triggering. I want to DISABLE friendly fire on mines. It's currently ENABLED with "g_friendlyFire" set to "0". There are no "g_friendlyFireOpts" that can disable self mine damage. It is possible because other mods have achieved this. I understand they need to trigger it to defuse their own, and I prefer it this way personally. I prefer all FF on. But for the needs of the server, we need all FF off. So is this something you can add into "g_friendlyFireOpts" ?
Dragonji
The fact other mods have this feature doesn't change a thing. In silEnT mod it is impossible to disable self damage on mines at the moment and IIRC gaoesa explained why it is not going to be implemented in another thread. ETsneak
The fact other mods have it changes everything, because the claim is that it isn't possible, not that they don't want to have it in silentmod. I searched for this before posting but found nothing relating my issue with mines. If they don't want to add that into silent it's okay, but they should link me to the explanation or provide it again instead of trying to "joke around" with me then tell me it isn't possible when it clearly is. It's one thing to not want to add it into the mod and another to claim it's not possible. basically what I'm looking for is one of these answers please: We will consider adding this to silentmod. We will add this to silentmod. We don't want to add this to silentmod. This may even fit better in feature requests actually..
