Welcome to our pick of the best wireless printers money can buy in 2019. The devices you'll find on this page represent the pinnacle of wireless printing. The lack of wires means these are easy to install in any office or home, and the best wireless printers are also ideal if you need to print from smartphones or tablets. So, with the best wireless printers, you can forget about having to trail cables from your PC to your printer, as all you need is a power socket and a Wi-Fi network. Your printer doesn't even need to be in the same room as your PC, which gives you more options when you're thinking of where to install it. Plus, if you're on a laptop, it means you've got the freedom to move around with the mobile device, while still being able to print from it.your Wi-Fi network is struggling to reach your wireless printer (or other devices). These days, best wireless printers will also be able to print directly from mobile devices such as laptops, smartphones and tablets, which means they are far better suited to modern life, where many of us use these devices for working on. So, read on to find out our choice of the best wireless printers money can buy, and thanks to our very own price comparison tool, you'll also get the best prices. Check out what printers made it into our top 10 best printers rounduphttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/bGVo3JettbJNVDPLmSXhd8.jpg If you're looking for a great wireless printer which doesn't skimp on print quality for your photographs, then we don't think you will be disappointed by what the PIXMA TS9150, Canon's flagship printer, has to offer. As with the Canon PIXMA TS8050, which is also included in this list of the best wireless printers, the TS9150 supports the Canon PRINT app, so if you want to print from your smartphone or tablet, it's quick and easy to do so. It is more expensive than other wireless printers, however, but it's print quality - and ease of use - makes the high cost definitely worthwhile. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/gngv24Wmv7MWLqDKUWDi9H.jpg The Deskjet 3630 is a fantastic wireless printer (in fact, it also sits atop our best printers list as well). It's cheap, yet offers good print speeds and the ability to connect to mobile devices without breaking the bank. The fact that it's wireless means it can be easily placed in your home or office, and it supports AirPrint. Just be wary as its ink cartridges can be pricey when picked up from shops. It doesn't quite have the build quality of HP's more expensive Envy models, but if you're looking for an initially cheap model that catches the eye when sat on a shelf, the Deskjet 3630 is a great option. Read the full review: HP Deskjet 3630 http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/9iA36EbjjfqYLb3GPnFaQ9.jpg Consumables are usually expensive when it comes to printers. So it is quite surprising that one vendor, Epson, single-handedly decided to challenge that status quo by allowing users to refill their printer using ink bottles, and includes two years of ink with the package; no more expensive cartridges and instead, you have enough material to deliver 11,000 pages worth of black and color inks. The Epson EcoTank ET-2600 is one of Epson's economic printers, and it's wireless as well, so you don't need to worry about trailing wires to and from this device when you want to print. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/oZQL9bxC8L79B3DXcFNVGd.jpg Great for the traveling professional or someone who needs a small printer for occasional use, printing photos or using the scanner function. It's a bit pricey to buy - and to run - but the flexibility and quality of the printouts is excellent. It's wireless, and there's a special Canon PRINT app for making printing from smartphones and tablets quick and easy. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/3af398de9e1d303d90c62d530bb5516d.jpg If you're serious about printing, then this wireless laser printer is definitely worth considering, offering loads of features that makes it a versatile printer for home or the office. It comes with wired (Ethernet/USB) and wireless (Wi-Fi/NFC) connectivity, duplex printing, decent eco settings and support for a wide range of media, the Samsung is an excellent all-rounder, and proves you don't have to skimp on features if you want to go wireless. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/ES9mMeEzuPDQwew38zYq8H.jpg The Epson PM-400 is a great wireless printer that excels at photo print outs, and it has an attractive design which makes it small enough to tuck away neatly, and the 4-pound printer can be easily transported wherever you go. It's incredibly easy to set up and install, but it's not the fastest wireless printer we have in this list. It's also quite pricey. However, if you want one of the best wireless printers on the market for printing off your holiday photos, the Epson PictureMate PM-400 is a fantastic choice. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/2d4df1aff8ed691543ae390a8b87ff33.jpg The M2070W is another very versatile wireless printer, with NFC compatibility for smartphones, and other online features. It has a clever Eco system that supplements the usual toner saving mode with a feature to remove images from documents by replacing bitmaps with sketches. Factor in claimed speeds of 20ppm, a clever scan to mobile feature and an effective print resolution of up to 1200dpi and you've got a wireless multifunction printer that's well worth considering. It's worth noting that this is a monochrome printer only, however. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/8a5319c9816ec18c1566b2d60cd74d10.jpg The Brother HL-3140CW is showing its age, but it remains a popular wireless printer, and for good reason. For very little cash you're getting a superb wireless color laser print that offers very good print quality at decent speeds. Of course, for such a low price it does miss out on a few features - so there's no automatic duplexing or Ethernet port, for example, but the HL-3140CW delivers superb print quality, reasonable mono running costs and good wireless features for a very low price. If you're looking for the best all-in-one printer money can buy in 2019, then you've come to the right place. In this list, we have gathered together the very best all-in-one printers for a range of budgets. These brilliant devices can handle standard print capabilities as well as photocopying, scanning and even faxing as well. The best all-in-one printers on this list are great choices for small and medium sized businesses – and even home users. This is because you can save a decent amount of money – and space – because you don't have to buy three or four different devices for each individual task. Plus, don't think that any of these devices are simply jack of all trades, masters of none. Each printer on this best all-in-one printers guide does an excellent job of all the tasks it's built for, be it printing off documents, photo copying files or scanning images to edit on a PC. You'll still get excellent print, scan and fax quality, and our list of the best all-in-one printers will make sure you get the perfect device for your needs. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/AnXnCFDzBEcdNN5sCPZynE.jpg The Epson Ecotank ET-3600 is our top choice for the best all-in-one printer as it can handle printing, scanning and copying with ease, and it's also very reasonably priced. However, best of all it is cheap to run, thanks to its use of ink bottles, rather than cartridges, which last longer and are cheaper to buy. Epson claims the Ecotank ET-3600 can save you around 70% on printing costs, and combined with its 3-in-1 capabilities, this makes it a must-buy for many businesses. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/sChwuAhLzVj3uGKofnBNRX.jpg The Canon Pixma TS6050 is an excellent all-in-one printer for many businesses, thanks to its compact size, which means it can easily be placed in the majority of offices. It's also Wi-Fi enabled, which makes choosing a spot to place it even easier. It does a great job of printing, copying and scanning, and while the print quality isn't as high as the Epson Ecotank ET-3600, its low price and small size makes it a very tempting alternative. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/7G3LD6CBEZANz9FuJFDW5X.jpg The HP Envy 5540 All-in-One printer offers printing, scanning and photo printing, supports not just USB but Wi-Fi, Wireless Direct and AirPrint wireless printing, and it even offers automatic double-sided printing. Considering that the HP Envy 5540 All-in-One printer has a price tag that is quite a bit lower than many of its competitors makes this feature list even more impressive. However, as a budget all-in-one printer, it does mean that its print and scan quality, and speed, isn't quite as good as some of the more expensive all-in-one printers in this list. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/nu7KNAMCVWsMSbwLXy3G6U.jpg The WorkForce Pro WF-4630 is a solid all-in-one printer for small businesses and workgroups given its fast print speeds, solid print qualities and remote printing and scanning capabilities. Using the larger XL print cartridges, the WF-4630 delivers economical print costs that rival laser printers. Unlike some of the other all-in-one printers in this best of guide, the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-4630 also features fax capabilities, and can connect directly to the internet. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/h5chgftyxuDpDvcd8gPvXc.jpg If you think the HP Envy 5540 is cheap, then you'll be really impressed with the price of the HP Deskjet 2130 All-in-One printer. If you only need to occasionally print, scan and photocopy documents, then this is a great choice for saving money. However, as it is so cheap, it does mean you have to make some sacrifices, so there's no wireless printing or Ethernet. If you want to share this printer on the network, then you can plug it into a router. But, for an all-in-one with a rock-bottom price, this will be a hard printer to beat. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/software-news/~4/Fu7VsDWBpdU

Check out what printers made it into our top best printer rounduphttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/7E3prMfagFzTSwHbjNMx9V.jpg The Canon Pixma Pro-100S is, in our view, the best photo printer you can buy today. Print quality is stunning - which is perhaps the most important aspect of a photo printer, with an 8-ink dye system that produces gallery-quality prints. It can also handle print sizes of A3 and over, and it's pretty fast as well, able to print a 4 x 6-inch photo in just 34 seconds. If you take a lot of photos on your smartphone or tablet, then the wireless printing feature will be a great help as well. If you want the very best photo printer for a reasonable price, this is the one we recommend. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/3199c8fae1c8e0ee06a04f98c2ed5cdb.jpg Once you've got the PM-400 up and running, you'll have a ton of fun running off image after image. Although the print quality won't win any awards for print quality, you'll be proud to hang any of its prints on your wall or sit them on your desk. The PM-400 is a delight to look at – not that this should heavily factor into which printer you should buy. It's got a pretty bone white frame that tucks away neatly, and the 4-pound printer can be easily transported wherever you go. Read the full review: Epson PictureMate PM-400 http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/AXiBjq6EHdDoZXx3kyar6j.jpg If you need a professional photo printer that makes no compromises when it comes to print quality - and which can handle large print sizes for displays and galleries - then the Epson SureColor SC-P800 is definitely worth considering. Sure, it's expensive, but it offers a wide range of features, professional color calibration and even tools for fine artists. This is not a photo printer for beginners wanting to print out a few holiday snaps, but if you work with photos for your profession, this is the best photo printer for you. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/r3EALqqJnD3X7pmEERVqNf.jpg The HP Sprocket Photo Printer is a small, hand-sized, photo printer which isn't for printing out professional-quality photos, but is a quick, easy and fun way to instantly print out your digital snaps - essentially turning any digital camera into a Polaroid-esque instant printer. It doesn't use ink, so you don't have to worry about buying replacement cartridges - instead it uses heat to transform a pre-dyed sheet of paper into your photos. It runs on batteries and has a stylish design as well. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/oZQL9bxC8L79B3DXcFNVGd.jpg The Canon Pixma TS8050 is great for the travelling professional or someone who needs a small printer for occasional use, printing photos or using the scanner function. It's a bit pricey to buy - and to run - but the flexibility and quality of the printouts is excellent, making this a worthy choice when looking for the best photo printer for your needs. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/bGVo3JettbJNVDPLmSXhd8.jpg If you're looking for a great all-round printer which doesn't skimp on print quality for your photographs, then we don't think you will be disappointed by what the PIXMA TS9150, Canon's flagship printer, has to offer. While it's certainly more expensive than some of the cheap two in one printers you can pick up, it's not a bad price for something which produces high quality prints, especially if you only need to print at A4 or below. Best of all, the print quality here is stunning, and it also has an attractive design. While the looks of your printer may not seem that important, it does mean you don't feel the need to try and hide it away out of sight if you're using it at home. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/93c89e34e310314329edb70c0366f7a7.jpg We've come to expect simple setup and operation from Envy printers, and the HP Envy 5540 All-in-One is no exception. It's quiet, packs in a lot of features and delivers excellent print quality, especially on photo paper. We particularly like the ability to use smartphones as well as computers, and to connect wirelessly without a router. This makes it a versatile photo printer that's not too flashy, but does the job well. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/software-news/~4/iIaZY8IHuCo

It has decent print quality, a competitive price, and it can connect to mobile devices, which reflects the modern home, where more people are likely to use a smartphone or tablet than a laptop or desktop PC. The 2019 Super Bowl 2019 is just around the corner and the Los Angeles Rams are taking on the New Orleans Saints in the NFC Championship Game to see which team will earn a spot in this year's ultimate show down. Stick with this article to see how to live stream the Rams vs Saints from absolutely anywhere on Earth. The two teams met earlier this season when the Saints took a 45-35 victory which ruined the Ram’s previously undefeated season. But of course the stakes will be much higher in today’s game the franchises go head-to-head once again at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. The Saints are coming off of a 20-14 victory in the NFC Divisional Round against Super Bowl LII champs the Philadelphia Eagles, while the Rams defeated the Dallas Cowboys 30-22 in last weekend’s match. The Saints will go into today’s game without the help of Sheldon Rankins on defense and the loss of Cooper Kupp has been detrimental to the Rams. The Rams will be fighting for revenge against the Saints and this is especially true of Marcus Peters who had problems with the Saints’ Sean Payton last time the two teams meet. Whether you’re a Rams fan in Los Angeles, a Saints fan in New Orleans or a football fan anywhere else in the world, we’ll show you exactly how to live stream the NFC Championship on your favorite devices so that you don’t miss a minute of the action. Also check out how to live stream Super Bowl LIII so you're ready for this year's big gameHow to watch the Rams vs Saints game online from anywhere in the worldIf you're in the US or UK and want to know how to catch the NFC Championship final, then keep scrolling and we'll tell you your best live stream and viewing options. But if there are absolutely no ways to watch in your country, then we can suggest a clever alternative (and no, it doesn't involve finding some dodgy feed on Reddit). Using a VPN - or Virtual Private Network - you can change the IP address to one in a different country which does have a stream so that you can watch the NFC Championship from anywhere in the world. The process is very straightforward... http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/x4WvmjGdnEUCFeqhMUrnWo.jpg How to watch the Rams vs. the Saints in the USFootball fans in the US that have a television will be able to watch the Rams vs the Saints live on Fox beginning at 3.05pm ET / 12.05pm PT. Here's looking at you, Samsung Galaxy S10 models: we've got newly leaked pictures of all three handsets heading our way next month, complete with cases attached. We also have confirmation that the names will be the S10E, the S10, and the S10 Plus. The pictures come courtesy of well-known tipster Evan Blass, so we can be pretty sure these are the genuine article. Unfortunately the casing hides a lot of the design of the phone, but you can see the camera arrays on the back of the devices – the S10E has a dual-lens camera, while the premium handsets have a triple-lens snapper. On the front of the phones, the pinhole notch is in evidence up in the top right-hand corner of the display. It looks like the Galaxy S10 Plus is going to feature a dual-lens front-facing camera, as you can see from the wider cut out in the screen. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/mTUqALmgvd9KXfgYY9svUJ.jpg Samsung's S10 line (credit: Evan Blass) So, from left to right, here are the Galaxy S10E, the Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy S10 Plus from Samsung. Thanks to press invites sent out for the Unpacked launch event, we know we'll be seeing these phones in full on Wednesday February 20. The pictures would also seem to confirm these phones will have fingerprint sensors built into the display rather than around the back. The usual internal upgrades are on the cards as well, with new Exynos 9820 and Snapdragon 855 chips set to ensure the 2019 Galaxy phones comfortably beat the 2018 Galaxy phones in terms of benchmarks. With so much information on these phones appearing ahead of time, there's not much left for Samsung to surprise us with on February 20. We might also see the long-rumored foldable Galaxy phone appear at the same event – fingers crossed. This could be our first look at the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus in the wildhttp://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/software-news/~4/WFEOzIzuRxU

If you were saddened by Apple quietly killing off the iPhone SE last September, we've got some good news for you: the smallest, cheapest iPhone is back on sale in the clearance section of Apple's website, though for now this seems to be a US-only offer. MacRumors spotted the deal, giving you the chance to bag a brand new, unlocked iPhone SE for $249 (with 32GB of storage) or $299 (with 128GB of storage) – that's $100-$150 off the original pricing. As before, your choice of colors are silver, space gray, gold and rose gold. If you're tempted, head in the direction of the Apple website. We wouldn't expect stock to last for long, as this seems to be nothing more than Apple getting rid of some spare units. If you miss out and still want to get your hands on one of these phones, you'll have to explore other options (such as eBay). A good runThe iPhone SE was first launched back in March 2016, so it had a good two-and-a-half years on sale before being pulled. With its 4-inch screen and (for the time) speedy internal components, it was a popular option for those who didn't like the larger displays on the newer iPhones. It was also a lot cheaper than the flagship iPhones of course. That "Special Edition" label was a big hint that this compact iPhone wouldn't be a long-term proposition for Apple though. Despite some occasional rumors that an iPhone SE 2 would eventually see the light of day, that hasn't happened. For now Apple seems committed to putting out iPhones that are big and bezel-free. Never say never though: with a tough sales environment to contend with, Apple might one day revisit the idea of a smaller, cheaper handset that might appeal to the masses more than the top-end iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. If it seems like ages ago since ESPN announced that it had won the rights to broadcast UFC, that's because it is. It was way back in May 2018 when the organisations revealed a five-year deal worth around $1.5 billion for ESPN to show Ultimate Fighting Championship events. Taking place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York tonight, Fight Night is being main evented by what looks like a cracker. Flyweight champion Henry Cejudo and bantamweight champ TJ Dillashaw are duking it out for the former's championship belt. While former footballer Greg Hardy makes his debut further down the card against fellow heavyweight Allen Crowder. It's looking like ESPN's UFC tenure is getting off to a flyer, and all the action can be watched on its online ESPN+ subscription service, too. The broadcasting giant's online subscription platform only launched in 2018, but has already made waves by hosting big-ticket tennis, soccer and boxing events. It costs $4.99 per month - so not huge sums, and less than streaming services like Netflix (and a lot less than cable). That lets you watch online, but also via its mobile app and TV streamer apps on the likes of Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, PS4 and Xbox. But the best news is that you can grab a seven-day FREE trial. So if you haven't used ESPN+ before, you can sign up for that and get a taster of its UFC Fight Night events without paying a thing. If you've got your subscription (or free trial) sorted but then find the coverage is geo-blocked, you can try using a VPN to change your IP address to a US server and watch as if you were back at home. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/ebGZgkd4qVX7mUuvz3WNkH.jpg Main image courtesy of ufc.com http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/software-news/~4/qXwTL-N6OYE

Remember that in-car player device Spotify was reportedly developing last year? It sounds like it's back on the agenda, with a potential launch happening some time in 2019 – bringing Spotify to your motor with no mobile phone required. As per a Financial Times report, the tune-pumping add-on is going to offer voice control capabilities and cost you about $100 (that's roughly £75 or AU$140). It'll sync with your car stereo via Bluetooth, apparently, and offer quick access to your favorite playlists, though it doesn't appear to have a touchscreen or any display of its own. What isn't clear from the anonymous sources speaking to the Financial Times is whether it'll have any 4G/LTE connectivity powers on board, or whether you'll need to load it up with tunes before you leave the house. It might also tether from a phone connection. Keeping up with Amazon and GoogleIt's not difficult to see why Spotify would want to launch something like this, even though it's already relatively easy to get Spotify playing in a car through a phone – Alexa is in the car now, and Google Assistant is in the car now, so Spotify will want to keep up. According to a special offer that leaked out to some Spotify users, the device in the pipeline will indeed have a cellular data connection for streaming on the go, which possibly points to an extra subscription fee – get the speaker and on-the-go data for a flat monthly fee on top of (or instead of) your existing premium subscription. As yet there's no indication of exactly when in 2019 Spotify is going to unveil its in-car speaker, but considering how long these rumors have been swirling, we'd suggest it'll be sooner rather than later – giving you yet another option for music on the go. Unlike films, videogames can be hard to go back to. Whether that’s because of ageing controls, improvements in graphics, or simply nostalgia shading what actually wasn’t a good experience to begin with - it’s difficult. While game developers could certainly fix the problem by remaking every one of our childhood classics, for obvious reasons only a handful are ever selected. That said, when a publisher does commit to remaking an older release, it’s easy to mistake the title for being brand-new altogether, and that’s what this list is essentially all about: These are the remakes that went above and beyond what we expected, bettering the original’s release, making them the definitive version. But, before we start, let’s first clear up a common misconception... Remake: Building the game from scratch for modern standards. Everything is overhauled but kept in the same vein of the original release. Remaster: Uses the same original game code but graphics are updated à la HD. Can include minor quality of life improvements. Now that's out of the way, here’s our list of the best game remakes. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/mhdvNJcX8ndR2gT7qVXhn5.jpg For seven years there was an absence of everyone’s favorite marsupial. After all hope seemed to have died out, Shaun Layden took the stage at E3 2016 to reveal that the first three Crash Bandicoot games would be “fully remastered from the ground up”, and boy, did they deliver. The N. Sane Trilogy not only looks gorgeous in ‘Fur K’ but it actually feels better. Developer Vicarious Visions even improved upon a lot of the control issues that plagued the first Crash. To top it all off, sales were higher than anyone could have imagined, which culminated in Crash Team Racing being announced as the next remake in the franchise. Crash Bandicoot shows us how classic games should be resurrectedThe Secret of Monkey Island: Special Editionhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/rE5x5EWsMmVRaijsLDMy8c.jpg At a time where Lucasfilm could do no wrong, The Secret of Monkey Island’s gameplay, music, and humor stood above all else on the market. Nearly 20 years on, thanks in part to fabulous writing, the swashbuckling adventure has kept its charm. Utilizing what was basically the same team (Tim Schafer, Dave Grossman, and Ron Gilbert) for the remake, this special edition lives up to its name. Stronger audio propels every level, while the slicker graphics brighten up each aspect of this fascinating world. Finally, the cherry on the cake is the much-requested inclusion of voice acting. Why The Secret of Monkey Island was the PC's greatest adventureThe Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3Dhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/JLsAT3Mg4VQdsE68BeKLqJ.jpg As lauded as Majora’s Mask is, there was always a sense of inaccessibility for certain players. The time mechanic was too grueling, repeating side quests was tedious, and losing save progress could be a real bore. When released in 2015, Majora’s Mask 3DS solved all of these issues creating a more compelling experience for all. For one, the addition of the notebook to help manage all of Link’s side-quests was heavily welcomed. Then you have the inclusion of Owl Statues, that grant save spots without the hassle of returning to the first day, as well as the useful ability to warp to any specific hour. Now who’s smiling, Mr. Moon? Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel could already be in the worksRatchet & Clankhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/36128e450c9de802fd4bd2621d663fb1.jpg Part remake, part re-imagining, 2016’s Ratchet & Clank is too damn fun to leave off this list. Insomniac went back to basics to tell us the story of an unlikely meeting between an aspiring Lombax and lovable robot. First time around, the pair were not too fond of one another. However, second time around Ratchet & Clank got on like a Blarg on fire. Turning the humor up to 11, while introducing lots of inventive weaponry, all lend to the duo’s opening mission succeeding in style. Not to mention those glorious Pixar-like graphics... Ratchet and Clank reviewMetroid: Zero Mission http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/fMFKnBgMzrmobmRRjvWBQE.jpg The first entry in this long-running series has huge sacrality tied to it. Somehow though, when it comes to the topic of Metroid, Zero Mission has replaced that slot for anyone looking to jump in. At a time where remakes were not as common, Nintendo – which was riding off the success of Metroid Prime – revitalized Samus Aran’s journey to the planet Zebes using a colorful art-style that popped off the screen. Furthermore, the inclusion of extra items and mini-bosses contribute to fleshing out the smaller storyline – even Samus’ history was given greater clarity. As a bonus too, by completing Zero Mission on hard mode, players unlocked the original outing. Win. Lara, still new to the profession, ends up on an arduous quest for the Scion of Atlantis. After Crystal Dynamics proved its merit with 2006’s Legend, the company were tasked with recreating Lara’s initial escapade. Anyone that has played 2013’s Tomb Raider or its sequel, Rise of the Tomb Raider, will be aware of the talents at Crystal Dynamics. So, it’s no surprise that Anniversary gained expanded locations, updated environments, well still evoking the same feeling that launched the franchise 21 years prior. Everything felt perfect... just avoid the Wii version. 20 years of Tomb Raider: Rhianna Pratchett on Lara through the agesPokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu/Eeveehttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/sNeP7V2iFPShShoXgxmLBR.jpg We know it's controversial due to the implementation of Pokémon Go mechanics, however it’s hard to dispute that Kanto has never felt more alive than it was in the Pokémon Let's Go games. For many of us, Pokémon Blue, Red, and Yellow were not only our entry points into Pokémon but our first foray into videogames as a whole. Seeing Celadon City’s slot machines or Viridian Forest’s never-ending trees were enough to bring any long-time trainer to tears. Aside from enhancements in the graphical department, Let’s Go brought in ride Pokémon, secret techniques, and Alolan types. Above all, Let’s Go introduced the fantastic notion of Pokémon in the overworld. Fans are now clamoring for Gen 8 to take the same approach. Sure, we love them, but after 20 years do they hold up? Well thankfully that question was given a definitive answer, as Toys for Bob handed Spyro’s first three outings the same lick of paint the orange marsupial received. Looking like something from a DreamWorks film, Spyro’s enchanting escapades never looked more heavenly. Mechanically the game is solid too, with flying, charging, and flame breath all receiving an upgrade worthy of any dragon. An adventure devoted to the slaying of 16 giants has always been one of great poignance. The environments are presented in such way that each facet is given room to breathe like no other. Now available at 30 frames per second over 1080p, with the capability of 60fps for PS4 Pro owners, Shadow of the Colossus is given the scope that director Fumito Ueda’s intended in his primary vision. Facebook's attempts to win back the eyeballs of teenagers aren't slowing down, if new reports are to be believed: the social network is apparently testing a meme-filled feature called LOL with selected users, based around short, shareable video clips. TechCrunch reported the trial run, which Facebook has since confirmed – the idea is to pack LOL with funny videos and GIF-style loops so that youngsters might be tempted to spend a little bit more time away from Instagram and Snapchat. Content gets pulled from the News Feed and the best meme pages on Facebook, apparently. For now only around 100 high school students in the US have access to LOL, and they're presumably giving feedback to Facebook engineers as to why this is the best or worst idea in the history of social networking. Facebook says the concept is in its "early stages". Top marks for persistenceOf course we've been here before. In 2014 Facebook launched Slingshot, a Snapchat clone which has since been abandoned. Then late in 2018 it introduced Lasso, also based around short and shareable video clips, which is apparently still going. The problem from the perspective of Mark Zuckerberg and his fellow execs is not just that teens are leaving Facebook – Facebook owns Instagram, after all – but that they're sharing content and memes in ways that are difficult to monetize. The short-lived, ephemeral Stories style introduced by Snapchat has become the most popular way to keep in touch. For now it's not clear if LOL might become part of the Facebook app, arrive as a separate app, or never launch publicly at all. It might even roll into Facebook Watch (Facebook's home for videos and original content, if you've completely missed it). Facebook's AR glasses could be coming soon (but probably not)http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/software-news/~4/MBLMHtxxDbE

The whole computing world has been waiting with bated breath for AMD’s high-end graphics card – and it’s finally here. Although it’s not the Vega II launch that seemed all but certain, the Radeon VII looks like a stunner that may even beat the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080. Featuring a whopping 16GB of video memory and a high boost clock of 1,800MHz, this looks like a very exciting graphics card from Team Red. Hang with us for a bit as we tell you everything you need to know about the AMD Radeon VII. Cut to the chaseWhat is it? AMD’s latest high-end graphics cardWhen is it out? February 7, 2019 What will it cost? $699 (about £550, AU$980)http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/6rGHVuweAioZwoFf5J44XP.jpg AMD Radeon VII release date While we don't report on production numbers externally,†the statement reads, “we will have products available via AIB partners and AMD.com at launch of Feb. 7, and we expect Radeon VII supply to meet demand from gamers.AMD to Overclock3D AMD held a grand spectacle of a keynote at CES 2019, and its headlining announcement was that the Radeon VII will launch on February 7th. While we would like to see the release of the AMD Radeon VII be as clean cut as that, there’s been plenty of news of shortage and a lack of third-party cards. Industry sources say that there may be fewer than 5,000 units of the Radeon VII at launch. AMD quickly responded to rumors, assuring gamers that there will be enough Radeon VII GPUs to meet demand. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/dj8mGJpdVWf34QWNx3Q6DP.jpg AMD Radeon VII priceThe AMD Radeon VII will launch at a starting price of $699 (about £550, AU$980). That’s quite a bit more expensive than AMD’s current flagship GPU, the Radeon Vega 64, that originally launched at a $499 or £549 (about AU$630) price. That said, AMD considers the Radeon VII to be a direct competitor to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080, which costs between as little as $699 (£649, AU$1,119) or up to $799 (£749, AU$1,299) with the Founders Edition. One silver lining to the Radeon VII’s high price is the card will come bundled with free vouchers for Devil May Cry V, Resident Evil 2 and The Division 2 – all three games, not just one. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/Y9bggrhE8nZasrarZEsJ2Q.jpg AMD Radeon VII specsThe Radeon VII will be the first graphics card to be built on AMD’s – or anyone’s, really – 7nm architecture. Comparatively, the Nvidia’s Turing architecture just managed to hit 12nm, though there are rumors that Team Green may employ Samsung’s fabrication resources to make 7nm chips of its own. According to AMD, its new 7nm process allows this GPU to increase performance by 25% overall over last year’s model with having to draw any more power. In fact, the Radeon VII may feature the same 295-watt thermal design power (TDP) as its predecessors. As we previously mentioned, this GPU touts twice as much video memory as the previous model at a whopping 16GB of HBM2 VRAM. The Radeon VII also features 3,840 GCN cores and a maximum boost clock of 1,800MHz – about 300MHz faster than the Vega 64. This maximum frequency also matches up with Nvidia’s Founders Edition factory overclock applied to the GeForce RTX 2080. Although the Radeon VII doesn’t feature any dedicated ray tracing cores, AMD has told and shown us that it will be able to handle ray tracing production work even better than Nvidia’s RTX 20-series cards. AMD also plans to support DirectML as an alternative to Nvidia’s Tensor Core and AI-driven DLSS anti-aliasing technology. After AMD announced Ryzen 3rd generation processors will be the first to support PCIe 4.0, you might be wondering if the Radeon VII will feature the same technology. Sadly, we’re here to tell you it won’t and it will be sticking to the same tried and true PCIe 3.0 connector. PCIe 4.0 technology will be first used in conjunction with SSDs to unlock even faster data transfer speeds. The last bit of bad news we have to bare is that AMD told us that it currently has no plans to introduce CrossFire support on the Radeon VII. We can hardly blame AMD for not including it, as we can imagine it would be murder to get 32GB or more of video memory to work together nicely. It feels as if announcements for the next Xbox and Sony PS5 are right around the corner, and now this gargantuan leak points to the next-generation AMD chip that may power it. AMD allegedly plans to introduce a whole new system-on-a-chip to power next-generation consoles with both the company’s upcoming Navi graphics and cutting edge 7nm Zen 2 CPU cores – like those found in the latest Ryzen 3rd Generation processors. The report comes from TUM_APISAK, a serial leaker in the silicon world, and this whole new part is apparently called Gonzalo. This AMD Gonzalo APU (accelerated processing unit) is said to feature eight processor cores that clock in at between 1GHz to 3.2GHz. Comparatively, the current AMD Jaguar APUs that power the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X currently run at up to 2.13GHz and 3.2GHz, respectively. On the graphics size, AMD Gonzalo is said to incorporate Navi 10 Lite graphics. This is the first time such a part has been even rumored, so information about this part of the chip is extremely sparse, but at the very least they’ll purportedly run at 1GHz. We expect E3 2019 will be chocked full of new hardware announcements, including a new next-gen Xbox and PS5, as well as AMD announcing its long-awaited Navi graphics architecture. Only time – and a likely increasing number of leaks leading up to the event – will tell if this pans out to be the truth. The best motherboards obviously don’t get the same kind of attention as the best graphics cards or processors, and that’s kind of a shame. The best motherboards are arguably the most important part of your entire PC. With all the latest PC tech, they basically serve as the backbone of the best PCs. A good motherboard will make your PC hardware reach its full potential by fully utilizing and optimizing it. They can even make your processor go faster – by giving it more overclocking headroom. Because they’re so critically important to your PC build, you should only consider the best motherboards. If you cheap out and get a crummy motherboard, and it dies on you, you’ll have no recourse but to rebuild your entire PC from scratch – and trust us, that sucks. You should just do yourself a favor, and buy the best motherboard the first time, so you won’t have to go through the chore of replacing a bad one. There are dozens of motherboards out there, and the marketplace can get confusing. That’s why we went ahead and created this list of the best motherboards on the market. So, let us help you find the best motherboards that we’ve tested ourselves. Not only will they do everything you need them to and more, the best motherboards are built to last. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/SkhDLvtQKnJbCt659CAZM6.jpg When Intel launched its Coffee Lake Refresh platform, and promised that they’d be the best processors for gaming, we knew we were going to get some kitted out motherboards that put that theory to the test. And, lo and behold, the Z390 Aorus Gaming Pro Wifi – one of the best motherboards on the market today. Packed to the brim with gamer-centric features like reinforced PCIe slots and enough RGB lighting to blind you – this is the best Intel motherboard on the market right now. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/S8w38zpwQzXmVJCL9Sr8Mh.jpg Sometimes, when building a new PC, you’re just want to throw your hands up and say “just give me everything.” In times like this, you’ll want the Asus ROG Maximus XI Code Z390 Gaming. Packed with every feature that Intel’s new Coffee Lake Refresh processors support and then some with a RGB-lit shroud covering every inch of circuitry on this motherboard. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/F3b2ycTvKkzjeicwJgWcwW.jpg So, Coffee Lake Refresh is out, and you want to take advantage of all the performance it has to offer, but those more exotic motherboards are out of reach. If that sounds familiar, you might want to take a look at the Gigabyte Z390 UD. This doesn’t have the same level of RGB bells and built-in Wi-Fi whistles, but what it does have is great value. You’re getting all of the essential features that Z390 has to offer, while sacrificing some unnecessary features like SLI or extra M.2 slots. If you’re a budget gamer, the Gigabyte Z390 UD is the best motherboard out there. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/vsm44DawcepTCxYLe9JZ3F.jpg If you’re looking for an edge on the competition, and you don’t have a lot of extra room on your desk, you’re going to want a Micro-ATX motherboard – you’re going to want the MSI MPG Z390M Gaming Edge AC. What you’re getting here is a Micro-ATX motherboard with all the features a full-sized ATX part, but a fraction of the price. Despite it’s reduced size, you still get getting dual M.2 slots, SLI and Crossfire support and all the scalding performance that Intel Coffee Lake Refresh has to offer. If you’re looking for a smaller motherboard, you can’t afford not to get the MSI MPG Z390M Gaming Edge MC. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/Coaffnt8hKNirJfFyZei3d.jpg If you need the smallest motherboard that you can get, without compromising on key features of your CPU, you should consider the Asus ROG Strix Z390-I Gaming. With this motherboard you don’t have to compromise on features or power. You don’t even need to settle for a measly 32GB of RAM, thanks to Asus’ double capacity memory compatibility – you can have up to 64GB of memory in the tiniest motherboard you’ve ever seen. Unfortunately, like most Z390 boards, it’s a bit pricey, so prepare yourself for that. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/KwfgbWhEizLfs4FCHeehAL.jpg With the X470 Aorus Gaming 7 Wi-Fi, Gigabyte further illustrates is mastery of motherboard design. Rocking the new AMD X470 chipset, allowing full support of the new AMD Ryzen 2nd Generation processors, this is the best motherboard if you’re looking to side with Team Red. What’s more, it supports Quad-GPU SLi and extremely fast RAM (up to 3,600 MHz) for peerless expandability, and thanks to its multi-zone RGB lighting, it looks good while kicking butt. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/4Z3oSJQyE88Pnmov8Q248P.jpg For the longest time, AMD has been the reigning champion of budget builds, and in 2018 that doesn’t seem to be changing. Marketed exclusively to gamers, the MSI X470 Gaming Plus is loaded front to back with features like two PCIe M.2 slots and quick performance tweaking buttons to make sure you’re on the top of the leaderboards at all times. And, since it’s a gamer-focused motherboard, it comes with all kinds of flashy RGB lighting that you can even customize it from your smartphone. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/KPS9bZDssSmKXCXCAUqUBT.jpg These days, small form-factor PCs are all the rage and with motherboards like the ASRock B450M-HDV, we think they’re going to stay that way. Now, while this motherboard doesn't do SLI and supports only up to 32GB of RAM– it is a B450 unit, after all – it is still compelling due to its low price. Outside of these omissions, you still get a slot for a NVMe SSD and four USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports around back. If you’re looking to build a solid budget gaming PC, this is going to be the best motherboard for you. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/oHNviqHPfygT9U5yLrQAd3.jpg Asus aims to prove that big things can come in small packages with the ROG Strix X470-I. Featuring the latest and greatest AMD chipset, everything in this tiny board is designed with performance in mind. Even down to the BIOS, where you can find a stress test for overclocks before you even boot into Windows. This board even elevates beyond the constraints of the Mnii-ITX form factor by including an M.2 Audio Combo riser, so that you can install your M.2 NVMe SSD without getting in the way of other components. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/NpyritF2izByK7Y6opJDyF.jpg The X-series processors are here and they're spectacular, so if you want to take advantage of all they have to offer, you need an X-series motherboard. This ASRock X299 is an excellent choice, with support for overclocked memory speeds up to 4400MHz(!!!) and 8 different slots for memory modules. It also supports up to 128GB of RAM, so with an X-series processor and a good graphics card (or 3…) this thing will absolutely tear apart anything you throw at it. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/MomPnm3DStz4hApeikvBrL.jpg If you’re the type of builder with lots of cash to burn and an ‘everything and the kitchen sink’ build method, the Ryzen Thredripper X399 Professional Gaming board is for you. Not only does it support 4-way SLI or Crossfire configurations, but you can also pack this thing with up to 128GB DDR4 memory. It even features a ton of flashy RGB lighting, so that people can’t help but stare at your rig when they walk in the room. And, if you upgrade to Ryzen Threadripper 2nd Generation, you can use this board, but keep in mind you may have to update your BIOS. Coming to termsIf you’re unfamiliar about what makes the best motherboards, well, better than the rest, we’d like to include a primer for anyone who might not know that much about them. Motherboards are available in a broad range of different form factors, the most common of which being ATX and Micro ATX. However, there are plenty of more less common form factors including mini ITX and E-ATX. Don’t worry though, most of the best PC cases will support multiple form factors. Moreover, in our rundown of the best motherboards, we detailed the socket type that each mobo adheres to. For those not in the know, the socket is the part on the motherboard that the CPU locks into. Typically, newer Intel processors use either LGA 1151 or 2066 while the latest AMD Ryzen architecture is designed for the AM4 chipset. The best monitors aren’t going to make your PC run any faster, but they can improve your overall computer experience by making it look much better – and they can improve your productivity, too. They’re also often cost effective, so anyone can find one of the best monitors for a price that won’t break the bank. With high resolutions, speedy refresh rates and every screen size you could imagine, you can make your work smoother and less of a strain on your eyes. Whether you're looking for a gaming monitor to keep up with the gaming PCs, or if you just bought a MacBook Air and you need one of the best USB-C monitors, you’ve come to the right place. And, you can trust our picks – we’ve tested and reviewed them all ourselves. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/oMxArjCj8G5zzzgDhh59yA.jpg Now that the best PCs can handle 4K easier than ever, the best 4K monitors are becoming more common. This explains why BenQ has launched the PD3200U, a massive 32-inch Ultra-HD display, as a part of its Designer Monitor range. Marketed to creatives and professionals, BenQ has crafted, seemingly by mistake, a panel that gamers can get behind, too – as long as they can fit it on their desks. Then again, given the 4ms response time, the PD3200U is best suited for creatives. For instance, 3D designers will love the inclusion of a CAD/CAM mode, while everyone else will adore the factory-calibrated color accuracy. It’s probably not the best for watching Netflix or YouTube, but the Acer Predator X34 is a great example of what an ultra-wide monitor can do. Boasting an attractive aluminum bezel and polygonal stand that resembles a bird’s foot, this massive 34-inch monitor is a wonder to look at. More importantly, armed with Nvidia’s G-Sync tech, you won’t need V-Sync stressing out your graphics card. The Acer Predator X34 does all the heavy lifting for you. On the other, it's extremely pricey when compared to other similar headsets. Luckily, as one of Kingston's most subdued pair of cans we've ever seen (or heard), the pristine comfort and top-notch sound more than make up for its high price and oddly placed detachable mic. That’s where monitors like the MSI Optix MAG271CR come in. With a 1080p resolution, 144 Hz refresh rate and 1ms of latency, you’re going to have fast, smooth gameplay as long as you have the hardware to drive it. After all, 60 Hz panels are so 2014 – the best gaming monitors embrace high refresh rates. Read the full review: MSI Optix MAG271CR How to buy the best gaming monitor in 2018When you are shopping for the best gaming monitor 2018 has to offer, there are a few things that you should consider before you decide on what display should grace your desk. By studying the following terms and specifications, you can make sure you pick the best gaming monitor for your needs – which also means you're not paying extra for additional features that you don’t need. Screen size: When shopping for the best gaming monitor, one of the most crucial things to think about is screen size. Larger display sizes can contribute to more immersive gaming experiences, as the game fills more of your field of vision, but you'll need to make sure you have the room to feature a large monitor. It also goes without saying that larger monitors will usually mean a higher price. Aspect ratio: The aspect ratio of a gaming monitor determines the width and height of the screen. Most widescreen monitors have an aspect ratio of 16:9, while older monitors had a more square 4:3, which will likely look pretty outdated in 2018. Ultra-wide monitors with aspect ratios of 21:9 are quickly gaining prevalence – they offer a wide view of your games, and many ultra wides have made our list of the best gaming monitor 2018. Resolution: Another important factor when looking for the best gaming monitor for your needs is resolution. Here, the higher the numbers, the sharper the picture.. You will, however, need a more powerful graphics card for anything over full HD (1,920 x 1,080), even if many gaming monitors feature resolutions as high as 2,560 x 1,400 (WQHD) and 3,840 x 2,160 (4K). Refresh rate: When you’re looking to primarily play Counter-Strike, or shooters like it, refresh rate is especially important. The higher the refresh rate, the more frames per second (fps) it can support, which lends to a smoother experience on high-refresh-rate displays. A 60Hz refresh rate is most common, with refresh rates rising to 144Hz and even 200Hz. Response time: The best gaming monitors have low response times, which means the action remains fast and fluid, with little to no input lag. The lowest response time for TN monitors (we explain this in the next section) is 1 millisecond, whereas the newer IPS monitors usually have more delayed, 4ms response times. When you’re playing games competitively, it’s crucial to keep this number as low as possible in order to combat lag. Panel type: This is where things get a little technical. The type of panel the gaming monitor uses will largely contribute to its response time and image clarity. TN panels (twisted nematic) have the lowest response times, and they are usually cheaper as well, but they generally don’t have great viewing angles. IPS panels (in-plane switching) have fantastic viewing angles and color reproduction, but usually higher response times. Meanwhile VA panels (vertical alignment) sit between the two, though the slow response times makes these panels rare amid the best gaming monitors. Viewing Angle: Most people play games while positioned in front of their gaming monitor, but this may not always be the case, particularly when you’re among spectators. A monitor’s viewing angles tell you what angle you can look at the monitor from and still clearly make out the image. The closer these numbers are are to 180, the better your viewing experience will be when standing further to either side of the monitor or looking at it from above or below. G-Sync and FreeSync: You'll likely notice that many of the best gaming monitors in 2018 come with either G-Sync or FreeSync technology – sometimes both. This helps keep frames per second (fps) smooth, combats screen tearing and diminishes input lag. G-Sync is developed by Nvidia, so you'll need an Nvidia GPU, and the tech is built into the monitor, which can bump up their price tag. Meanwhile FreeSync was developed by AMD but, as it is free to use by manufacturers, the monitors usually cost less. Check out our HDR Explained video below. In 2017, Sonos announced a ground-breaking partnership with Ikea that would integrate full-fledged Sonos speakers into everyday furniture. Today, we found out those speakers will be available starting in August of this year. When they're released later this year, the Syfonisk series will encapsulate everything that makes Sonos speakers so great – namely, their sound quality and multi-room functionality – in a number of everyday pieces of furniture, like shelves and cabinets. When the speakers were first announced, Ikea debuted a number of prototypes, including a few speakers that were built directly into shelves, but said that those weren’t final products and were just prototypes. While today's announcement gives us a window of when to expect the Symfonisk series on Ikea shelves, it doesn't provide any more details on what those speakers will look like – or, more importantly, how much they're going to cost. For those details, much like your typical shopping experience at Ikea, you're going to have to wait. New research from Accenture has revealed that companies could incur $5.2tn in additional costs and lost revenue over the next five years due to cyberattacks. The company surveyed over 1,700 CEO and other C-suite executives to compile its Securing the Digital Economy: Reinventing the Internet for Trust report which examines the complexities of internet-related challenges facing businesses. Accenture's report highlights the fact that cybercrime from a wide range of malicious activities poses significant challenges that can threaten business operations, innovation and growth and the expansion into new products and services. The tech sector faces the highest risk with over $753bn at stake followed by the life sciences and automotive industries at $642bn and $55bn respectively. Becoming cyber-resiliantAccenture's Head of Communications, Media and Technology Omar Abbosh provided further insight on how the field of cybersecurity is lagging behind cybercriminals constantly advancing tactics, saying: “Internet security is lagging behind the sophistication of cybercriminals and is leading to an erosion of trust in the digital economy. Strengthening internet security requires decisive — and, at times, unconventional — leadership by CEOs, not just CISOs. To become a cyber-resilient enterprise, companies need to start by bringing CISOs’ expertise to the board, ensuring security is built-in from the initial design stage and that all business managers are held responsible for security and data privacy.” The report also found that 79 per cent of respondents believe the digital economy's advancement will be severely hindered unless there is a dramatic improvement to internet security. More than half (59%) of respondents said the internet is becoming increasingly unstable from a cybersecurity standpoint and they are unsure how to react. At the same time, 75 per cent of respondents believe that addressing cybersecurity challenges will require and organised group effort as no single organisation can solve the challenge on its own. Microsoft could soon release a consumer version of its popular Microsoft 365 bundle according to a discussion the company's CEO had with journalists at a recent media event. The company first unveiled its Microsoft 365 bundle which included Windows 10 and Office for businesses and the education sector back in 2017. Buying Office and Windows licenses in a bundle makes a great deal of sense for the commercial market but Microsoft may have to tweak the contents of a similar package to appeal to consumers who generally don't buy Windows licenses outright unless their building their own PC. However, with the company's recent focus on Windows as as service, a consumer version of Microsoft 365 could help shift users' mindsets away from the idea of buying a one-time license for its OS in favor of a subscription model similar to Office 365. Business vs. consumerMicrosoft has been catering to business customers recently and at the event, the company's CEO Satya Nadella answered a question regarding its consumer focus. He explained that the software giant “made a bunch of mistakes by just saying let's just enter every category, just because were a software company.” Now though, Microsoft has begun to pick its battles more wisely concerning its business and consumer offerings. Nadella hinted at the fact that the company would soon be talking about Microsoft 365 consumer subscriptions and now that the news is out we could soon hear an official announcement. Back in December, ZDNet discovered job listings that suggested a Microsoft 365 consumer bundle is on the way and Satya Nadella's recent comments seem to confirm just that. Windows 10 Mobile finally has a death date: Microsoft will end support on December 10, 2019. The company officially sealed the operating system’s fate in October 2017 when a corporate VP tweeted that Microsoft would stop releasing new features and hardware for Windows 10 Mobile. While the company avoided saying so at the time, that month’s version 1709 would be the OS’ last, as confirmed on the Windows 10 Mobile FAQ page. While Windows OS-running phones hadn’t captured significant market share even in the years before then, the corporate VP confirmed the company was sunsetting Windows 10 Mobile because of a dearth of apps. Which, in a chicken-egg reasoning, companies weren’t making due to low user volume. Microsoft has continued to release security and software updates in the interim, but that will end this coming December. After that date, “we recommend that customers move to a supported Android or iOS device,” Microsoft itself recommended in a separate end-of-support FAQ. Which fits the company’s shift in emphasis from supporting an OS ecosystem to producing apps and services on the far more successful iOS and Android platforms. “Microsoft’s mission statement to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more, compels us to support our Mobile apps on those platforms and devices,” the FAQ continued. After the endAfter official Microsoft support stops, so will other services like automatic and manual device backups, which owners won’t be able to use after a grace period ending March 10, 2020. Other services like photo uploads or restoring devices from an existing backup might work up to a year after the December 10, 2019 end-of-support date. Support ends even earlier for some devices. Lumia 640 and 640 XL phones only received up to version 1703 of Windows 10 mobile, and their end-of-support date is June 11, 2019. Need a new phone after Windows 10 Mobile ends? The LG G8 launch event is reportedly scheduled for February 24 at MWC 2019, four days after the Samsung Galaxy S10 launch event half way across the world. LG's smartphone event is happening in Barcelona that Sunday, according to Korean media and first seen by the Android Soul. It may have one piece of information wrong. though: its stated 10am local time in Korea is 2am in Barcelona. Hmmm... We're more likely to see the LG G8 at 2pm in Barcelona (which is 10pm in Korea – an easy one to mix up when reporting). This is roughly the same time slot that Samsung reserves for its Samsung Galaxy S phone launches at the same show. Of course, the Samsung Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus launch (and apparently another look at the foldable Samsung Galaxy X) will take place on February 20 in San Francisco. So LG is taking on the Sunday spotlight for its MWC eve launch event. LG G8 and what else?LG has a lot to prove at its LG G8 launch event, so the G8 may not be alone. We've seen rumors that it'll have a dual display add-on to rival foldable phones. The company could also release a cheaper version of its the flagship LG G8 in order to compete with cheaper Android phones like the OnePlus 6T. Finally, we haven't seen an LG K phone in a year, so LG is due for a refresh of its mid-tier smartphone line. All of these LG phones may land at MWC 2019, and we'll be looking out for hints of the LG V50, the sequel to the LG V40. Motorola Razr reboot may finally happen, and it could be a foldable phonehttp://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/software-news/~4/WtbgEKaqZE0
