  1. The fact other mods have it changes everything, because the claim is that it isn't possible, not that they don't want to have it in silentmod. I searched for this before posting but found nothing relating my issue with mines. If they don't want to add that into silent it's okay, but they should link me to the explanation or provide it again instead of trying to "joke around" with me then tell me it isn't possible when it clearly is. It's one thing to not want to add it into the mod and another to claim it's not possible. basically what I'm looking for is one of these answers please: We will consider adding this to silentmod. We will add this to silentmod. We don't want to add this to silentmod. This may even fit better in feature requests actually..
  2. I want to DISABLE friendly fire on mines. It's currently ENABLED with "g_friendlyFire" set to "0". There are no "g_friendlyFireOpts" that can disable self mine damage. It is possible because other mods have achieved this. I understand they need to trigger it to defuse their own, and I prefer it this way personally. I prefer all FF on. But for the needs of the server, we need all FF off. So is this something you can add into "g_friendlyFireOpts" ?
  3. It's clear in the title that I want to remove the self-damage from mines for the player who planted them. I also stated that the engineer who plants the mine can trigger it and damage himself and I asked how to fix that. Based on these two things I figure it's clear I want to prevent engineers from being able to trip their own landmines.

No matter if I use 12 or not, the engy who planted the mine can set it off and friendly fire is disabled. Is there a way to fix this? (It's not the host's fault) My entire FF cvars straight from the config: set g_friendlyFire "0" set g_friendlyFireOpts "12" set g_reflectFriendlyFire "0" set g_reflectFFWeapons "31" set g_teamDamageRestriction "55" set g_minHits "15"
  5. We've found the bug and it's related to silentmod. g_spectator If set to 0, the server can be crashed by clicking in spectator. When set to 4 or to 7 it doesn't crash. We've duplicated this over and over and found this to be the only condition. We've switched back and forth having the setting to 0 and every time the server was crashable. Now we're running 4 just like my sunnyvale server and there are no crashes. It's confirmed that g_spectator is the issue here, not the host or the file permissions. The permissions are all identical to my other server. Whether or not this has to have another cvar on a certain value I'm unsure of. But changing g_spectator from 0 to 4 or 7 resolved the possibility of crash EACH time. The cvar is also set to 0 by default in silent settings which is probably why it crashed silent default configurations.
  6. I changed my post when I realized how confusing it was and tried to explain better. Didn't expect you to reply at the exact moment. Anyways, read that post #9 now that I've made it more clear and understand what's going on here. You're the one blaming OVH, you said it's the fault of the hosts. I never said it's OVH's fault.
  7. I have multiple servers on my machine, and one of them is called "sunnyvale silent" and the other is a test server. They are exactly the same, just in another folder. The test server is a copy of the sunnyvale server with the gameplay settings changed and an in-game rules pk3 added. On the sunnyvale server, sbk is unable to crash it by clicking his mouse1 key. On the test server he can crash it. We've tried removing the rules page pk3 and it doesn't change a thing. Remembering back, we've tried default installations of silent and it does the same thing as well. How can he crash one out of two of my nearly identical silent servers running the same luas and all on the same machine? I copied the sunnyvale server (the one he can't crash) to his server on the same host, in the same DC, running the same OS, and configured the exact same way (I configured it this time). He's able to crash it there. There must be something you can do to troubleshoot this issue besides blame SoftLayer, BlackLotus, OVH, and NFOServers. It's clearly not the host.

  10. I had a working silent server setup for months and I put it in a tarball and sent to a friend. I have access to that server myself now and have confirmed it's an identical copy (by doing it myself). We both run Debian 7 64-bit. On his server when you're in spec and click the fire key, it crashes the server but it doesn't do that on mine. We've tried et300 and an etded from a friend compiled off et260 GPL with some ETL fixes (works on either binary on my server). There's no crash log either by file or in the PuTTy window. Is there any way to get a crash log in silent? I thought that was automatic. Is it impossible with segmentation faults?   11. In order to attract a large group of players to switch over it would really help. The skill promotions give people more reason to stick around. Noobs like seeing high XP amounts and if you reset the XP in order to keep them coming back they enjoy it more because you can set the cap higher.
  12. I didn't do anything on SL and I've already explained there's no way to get in contact with that person. She makes hostile points, my points are valid. I've seen countless threads from her over the years and ignored them, even recently but some posts just should not be left alone. People need to understand the reality and also I'm one of the several people who are interested in fixing the way people use forums online. Improper use of forums and giving devs incorrect information is not helpful to any community.
  13. why are you referring to players like AnnaGram as other players? They are all you. Your issues are not necessarily happening to other players but only yourself. Alot of people are aware to the fact you have 4 fake specs connected to your server which is why you're banned from trackers. Misleading the developers isn't a great idea beth, it's giving out false information that could have helped troubleshoot issues so potentially leading them in the wrong direction .
  14. That's for grenade boosting (ff options). I'm talking about g_shoveNoZ. It can be setup to allow upwards shoves or not but you can't adjust the strength of shove.

  17. I'm requesting a sound added the same way as the spree sounds that makes a noise when a player is poisoned. The players who here it is based on their distance relative to the poisoned player. Just like the goat sound when knifing someone. The sound should replaceable just like the spree sounds so people can use whatever sound they want.
  18. I can edit g_shove and have the push distance I want for shoves but when shoving someone upward it barely pushes them, making it basically pointless to even have enabled. Since there's no way of defining the distance of upward shove I would like to see a setting for it, much like g_shove. Maybe something like "g_shoveZ" expecting integer and relative to "g_shove". So if I have "g_shove" set to 120 and set my "g_shoveZ" to 60, I would push players upward half as much as normally.

  20. I set g_goomba "1" and g_goombaFlags "25" because flag 8 is supposed to make all goombas instant. I have to set g_goomba to 500 to make goombas instagib, making the goombflags flag 8 useless.

    There is already a kick in silent just no animation and no door kicking. Alot of players from NQ really want to see it though.

    Yes you need the level 9 medic skill so you can revive anyone with activate bind.
