G!NG3R420
Not sure if this is even possible but I figured I would ask anyway. I know their are a few perks for being in a fireteam already. You can pull up mini map and view their location as well as their info in the corner. My idea refers to the "following player" when you die. Is it possible to have the "follow player" focus on your fireteam members if you are in one when you die? (ie. FT Alpha has 4 players in the squad, 1 player dies and can cycle through the other 3 members that are alive before following members outside of the FT which would be on your team either axis or allies) This would be pretty cool to be able to see what your fellow members are doing instead of having to hurry and find them before you spawn. I feel if this feature can be accomplished it would generate more use of the FT for those players that are of the same skill lvl or understanding of similar game play on the given map. If this is already in place I apologize for wasting the suggestion but would ask in return an explanation of how to set it for my use since I do not see it happening when I am in FT. Thanks!! hellreturn and gaoesa
Management TheSilencerPL Posted October 24, 2010 Management Share Posted October 24, 2010 This is a good idea, I was missing it too.I don't know if it is already implemented (however I don't remember seeing it in the code). It could be done like that:when someone is in the team he/she can only follow his/her team members.Or when pressing attack1 switch to next team member, attack2 switch to next player or something similar to this. jaie
A way to select someone to follow on your team whilst your in limbo, like in etpub you can do /follow ##, but in jaymod you can't.This would be useful, or a quick command so you don't need to keep opening the console and typing /follow. Management gaoesa Posted October 31, 2010 Management Share Posted October 31, 2010 You can give any commands in the chat box with silEnT. I didn't actually get what you ment with Jaymod thing. Yes, the Jaymod follow command requires full name or the slot number. With silEnT you can give partial names to the command. To quicly issue the command you can just open any chat window and write /follow to it and then your following. As long as your a spectator of course. jaie
in jaymod when you do /follow it puts you into spec, but in etpub it follows them whilst you're dead but you have to do it each time you die.so I was thinking a command gamers could use to select a slot number to follow every time they die
G!NG3R420
I know you can follow a player by typing in the name, this was just an idea for it to automatically cycle through only the FT members. Possibly under the pub options you can select to have your limbo "cycle full team player list" or "only cycle Fireteam members"
Management TheSilencerPL Posted November 24, 2010 Management Share Posted November 24, 2010 (edited) The idea has been implemented. There is new config menu option to enable this.In order to enable FT only spec mode go to: silEnT->CONFIGand set "Follow FT members in spec" option to one of the following:Disabled (default, standard way)FT members firstOnly FT membersor us client side cvar: cg_followFT [0|1|2] 0 - disables feature (works as usual then) 1 - follow Fire Team members first when in spec 2 - follow only Fire Team members when in spec. Options 1 and 2 work only when the player is in the Fire Team. When the player is not in FT then they do not influence the spec behavior. Default: 0Details: FT members firstWhile switching to another player in spec first the players in the player's Fire Team are shown (picked up). After the team is shown (player switches out to non FT player) it returns to the standard behavior and switches to all players on the team. Only FT MembersWhen player is in the Fire Team only his fire team members are shown in spec. He can't see other players then in spec. Unless he leaves the FT. For both options there is possible forward and reverse switching. Available since v0.2.1 Edited November 29, 2010 by TheSilencerPL updated due to changes in implementation

G!NG3R420
I haven't been around due to Basic training, but I am glad to see an idea of mine be placed into the mod. I will test it out asap and report if I do find any issues. Awesome work and keep up the good work. hellreturn
