Hey, just wondering who the creator(s) of Silent mod are, and who gave/let them use my PPSh-41 model for the mod?

I don't really mind, it was for East Front mod, which fell through about 2 years ago, originally. So it is nice to see it got used in ET after all.

Although I had made custom hand models and hand animations for it. I will admit they are bare hands (and a bit bigger) so they don't really fit in with the ET glove-wearing hands, but they changed it back to the MP40 gun animations.

This is incorrect since the MP40 has the bolt handle on the left, and the PPSh has it on the right.

If you watch closely when you reload the ppsh, your guy's hand goes THROUGH the gun.

 

I could fix this easily by making him turn the gun over on its side to pull the real bolt handle.

 

Who do I contact for development of Silent mod?

We used that model

for a short time before we created our own model (0.3.0 version if I am right), but we always have had credits for the old ppsh model creator till then (I couldn't find any contact information with that model creator).

We know about that problem. We will probably fix that in the future.

The mod we took the old model from was, as you can see, "Additional Weapons Mod for RtcW", not East Front mod.

Hmm, I remember us looking for already made weapons for ET, so I am guessing this "Additional Weapons Mod for RtCW" came out after EF, but yes I do notice some differences in the model. And poly count much lower. Not that most computers today can't handle higher poly counts.

Hi, I was just playing on F|A Silent server, I noticed you updated to silent-0.5.2.pk3 from 0.5.1, and I noticed the PPSh is gone.... Is this a server setting or has the PPSh been removed from Silent mod?

 

Also, I tried to run a "/devmap" and tried using the "Host Game" with Silent mod, but I get the following error:

BG_IndexForString: unknown token 'PPSH': (animations/scripts/human_base.script, line 22)

 

So I cannot do a /devmap with Silent mod, yet I can join a Silent mod server...

 

Does anyone know how to fix this??

So, how about the error? Is there something you are supposed to type before doing "/g_gametype 2", "/sv_pure 0", "/devmap oasis" or some other map, to be able to do a test run of Silent mod, to avoid the: "BG_IndexForString: unknown token 'PPSH': (animations/scripts/human_base.script, line 22)" error?

No dedicated server. I'm just starting up ET like anyone else does, clicking "Mods", selecting "Silent", "OK", then opening the console and typing "/devmap oasis". If you do this without the "clicking Mods and selecting Silent, then OK" part, the game will start up the oasis map, except you will be playing by yourself of course. When you try to do "/devmap yourmaphere" after selecting the Silentmod (or ANY other mod for that matter) you will get the:

"BG_IndexForString: unknown token 'BlahBlahBlah: (animations/scripts/human_base.script, line ###)" error.

 

How do I get this "cgame" you speak of to 'load'? Or just, how do i fix this so I can do devmap while running a mod?

Try copying the qagame dll/so into the silent folder. We noticed couple versions ago that it is required in the newest versions of the mod even when not starting dedicated server. You will find this file from inside the silent.zip which is packed inside the silent-0.5.2.zip.
