uNhoL
I've been thinking about those vote muted players who cannot speak at all and cannot try to call a vote to unmute themselves and they might be muted for several maps and admins are not doing anything about it. It's really unfair in my opinion. So I am suggesting to give player ability to call a vote to unmute himself, and maximum votes would be handled with a cvar (e.g. g_maxMutedVotes). This does NOT have anything to do with shrubbot mutes (!mute). Edited April 3, 2011 by uNhoL
Management gaoesa Posted April 3, 2011 Management Share Posted April 3, 2011 The voting ability was removed from the muted players because they were constantly calling unmute votes and polls instead of being silent. However, it could be a good idea that the voted mutes would have a defined mute time instead of lasting until someone unmutes or unmute vote passes. Management TheSilencerPL Posted April 3, 2011 Management Share Posted April 3, 2011 Right, I like the idea of the defined time, because muted players would spam votes to the defined limit in the uNHoL's proposition.
Management hellreturn Posted April 3, 2011 Management Share Posted April 3, 2011 My statistics say normally only those player get's muted who are spamming or whining on continuous basis.  What if the time limit passes and then user starts spamming votes? Sometimes, I have also seen if there are 8 players on server, some 4 trolls join the server and start trolling and bitching. Now admin mutes them but if user is allowed to call vote other 4 will vote yes and it will same issue there after. I think what ideally we should do is: !mute hell spamming When there is no time given by admin, user should be auto un muted after 5 mins or by defined time in g_autounmute  !mute hell 30m Extensive Bitching Then 30m of muting should kick in.  Now if by mistake admin forgets to specify mute time, user get's unmuted and if he does mentions time, then user gets unmuted after admin defined time in !mute What you guys say? Management gaoesa Posted April 3, 2011 Management Share Posted April 3, 2011 I think the issue was that voted mute has no expiration time. Default time for !mute command could be good also.
Management TheSilencerPL Posted April 3, 2011 Management Share Posted April 3, 2011 Yes, the option when the player is unmuted after some defined time when admin forgets to set the mute time is good option, I think. I would go for it.
Management gaoesa Posted April 10, 2011 Management Share Posted April 10, 2011 Admins can now define the lengths of the mutes in the version 0.3.1.
