Amazon Prime Day isn’t too far away and, in the lead up to the big sale, the e-commerce giant is offering Australian Prime members a chance to experience some of its other services for free. If you are an existing Prime member but have never tried Audible or Kindle Unlimited before, you can sign up for either one or both services between July 1 and July 31 and you can enjoy a three-month long free trial period for each service. Now, presumably this means that those who haven't trialled Amazon Prime before can sign up for a free 30-day trial (making use of it during Amazon Prime Day while you're at it), and then sign up for both the Audible and Kindle Unlimited offers as well. So many stories…Audible and Kindle Unlimited are for booklovers. If you love to read, then Kindle Unlimited will give you access to over a million ebooks. If any of those ebooks have an audio version available on Audible, you’ll even be able to listen to the narration if you don’t have the time to read. To use Kindle Unlimited, you will need the Kindle app on your handheld device or get yourself an Amazon Kindle e-reader. For booklovers who are constantly on the move, Audible is a great option. It’s the largest library of audiobooks and members can choose one audiobook each month regardless of price. Purchasing additional audiobooks won’t cost more than $14.95 each, and you can swap them out any time. If you aren’t a Prime member already, now is the perfect time for you to sign up and take advantage of not just the three-month free trial of Audible and Kindle Unlimited, but also save a packet on a variety of goods during this year’s Prime Day. To sign up for any of the services, just click on the green button. Amazon Prime Day date confirmed for Australia – it's set to be a 65-hour epic sale!http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/digital-home/~4/abWvNY9qA24

Earlier this year, Google revealed that its next mobile OS release – Android Q – would be losing support for Android Beam, the closest thing the iOS competitor has to Apple’s AirDrop. Android Beam used a device’s NFC technology to (slowly) share files and media with other devices by placing them back-to-back, whereas Apple’s AirDrop uses a combination of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to share between iOS and macOS devices. 9to5Google, though, has uncovered Google’s replacement to Android Beam and managed to get it functioning on a device running the Android Q beta. It’s called Fast Share and appears to be comparable to AirDrop in that it uses Bluetooth to establish a link between devices before using a direct Wi-Fi connection to actually transfer the files. Android Q won't have Android BeamSpecifically, Fast Share will allow users to share images, URLs, snippets of text and other files and will show up as an option in the regular ‘share’ menu alongside other social media and messaging applications. Once you’ve got the setting enabled and have named your device, it’s just a matter of switching on Bluetooth and Location Services then choosing the appropriate device to Fast Share to. In the instructional screenshots that Google supplies as an introduction to the feature, it shows a Chromebook, a Pixel 3, a smartwatch and even an iPhone listed under the nearby devices, which presumably means we’ll be able to share across different platforms. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/CVmapoWBuANUnMhCJoc5em.png [image credit: 9to5Google] Once the sender has selected a device to share to, the recipient will be able to see their device name as well as a connection ID for verification, at which point they can accept or decline the transfer. For devices you share to often, you’re able to give them “preferred visibility”, which allows them to “always see your device when you’re nearby, even if you’re not using Fast Share”, according to Google’s information screen on the feature. Considering that Google hasn’t made any official announcements related to Fast Share, we don’t have any concrete information on when it will become available, but given that the next major OS release will be losing Android Beam, it’s a good bet that we’ll be seeing Fast Share land on Android Q when it becomes publicly available in August. Welcome to our pick of the best video editing computers of 2019. If you're a video editor or producer, than making sure you have a PC that's capable of handling large files and editing (and viewing) high-resolution videos is essential. Because of the intensive nature of video editing, you'll want a PC that come with a discrete graphics card for rendering and converting raw footage. Plenty of RAM is also essential, as well as a multi-core processor, for making the video editing process as quick as possible. A PC that's capable of professional video editing won't be cheap, but we've rounded up the very best video editing computers for a range of budgets – plus, our built-in price comparison tool will scour the internet to ensure you get the best deals on these impressive PCs. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/6Q7WdkKeC996rTyNHojuiX.jpg Image credit: Apple The Apple iMac Pro is one of the most powerful PCs that Apple has ever made, and it's easily the best video editing computer money can buy right now. Speaking of money, you'll need quite a bit of it, as this is a very expensive machine. However, for the price you get sublime build quality, plus some of the most cutting-edge components on the market today. The Intel Xeon processor and AMD Verga 64 graphics card will make editing videos fast and smooth, and there's enough horsepower here to be able to preview your edits on the fly. Apple's software is also incredibly popular with creatives and video editors, as it's fast and reliable. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/QSP3V6hK3aoKdkuFtw8UBm.jpg Image credit: Microsoft Packed with a Kaby Lake mobile processor and Nvidia Pascal graphics, the Surface Studio 2 is a lot more powerful than the original, and is a brilliantly-capable video editing computer. It features a stunning PixelSense display with Surface Pen support, which gives you a whole new way to interact and edit your video. It runs Windows 10, so software support is fantastic, and the 2TB SSD lets you store plenty of video footage in a speedly solid-state drive. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/JyDsxiBVyr2iiLyVqKti9i.jpg Image credit: TechRadar The Corsair One Pro i180 is one of the most powerful PCs out there, which makes it one of the best video editing computers you can buy in 2019. It comes with an Intel Core i9-9920X, Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti, 32GB of DDR4 RAM, 920GB NVMe M.2 SSD and 2TB hard drive. That’s some seriously impressive and cutting-edge hardware for video editing. Unlike the iMac Pro and the Surface Studio 2 above, the Corsair One Pro i180 lets you upgrade certain components yourself, making this a future-proof PC. It's also got an amazingly compact design that means it can easily sit on or under a desk. It's very expensive, though. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/Lt7PMxpJsiHp5F6Cgr25ve.jpg Image credit: Apple The Mac mini 2018 has been refreshed with modern hardware, bring Apple’s tiniest Mac into the modern age. It comes with an 8th-generation desktop processor, plenty of RAM and some of the fastest SSDs we’ve seen – all while keeping the same beloved compact form factor. What makes it an ideal video editing PC is that you can add an external graphics card to the Mac mini for added graphical prowess. You can also chain several Mac minis together and offload tasks onto each machine. This means you can use one Mac mini to render your video, while using another to complete other tasks. It's incredibly versatile, and good value as well. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/GMijfQNotX5nPm3GDDVkJW.jpg Image credit: Apple Yes, another Mac computer on this list. However, Apple really does make some of the best video editing computers in the world, and this latest refresh of its iconic all-in-one iMac is worthy of inclusion on this list. It's packed with 8th- and 9th-generation desktop-class processors this time around with up to 8-cores for multitasking – essential if you're video editing. If you’re looking for an all-in-one Mac, the new 27-inch iMac is your best bet, at least if you’re not looking to spend huge amounts of money on the iMac Pro. While you’re at it, we’ve also found the best gaming desktop PC you can buyhttp://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/digital-home/~4/bjjdXt1PgBY

Ring that bell. The undefeated WBO middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade must defend his title against Maciej Sulecki if he wants a shot at the undisputed title. Who will walk away with the belt tonight? You can live stream the Andrade vs Sulecki fight to find out, using this guide. While Andrade (27-0 17 KOs) has an impressive record, and is coming from a twelfth round TKO of Arthur Akavov in January, he's going to be challenged by world rank number 10 Sulecki (28-1 11 KOs) who beat Gabriel Rosado in March. Selecki will be entering the ring in his first ever world title challenge fight so expect the Polish boxer to be at his best. But Andrade, on home turf, knows this is an obstacle he must go beyond to take on Saul Canelo Alvarez for the undisputed champion title. There's a lot to fight for on both sides and each boxer is fighting at a high level right now meaning this should be a clash well worth watching, no matter what time you need to be up where you are in the world. The rest of the card is looking strong, too, with Joseph Parker taking Alex Leapai in the heavyweight division. Read on to find out how to live stream Andrade vs Sulecki boxing from absolutely anywhere. Live stream Andrade vs Sulecki from outside your country In the US, Canada (where DAZN has you sorted) or UK tonight? Then scroll just a little further down this page and we'll tell you who's broadcasting the boxing from where you are. But if you're abroad this weekend then you'll need another way to watch and avoid possible geo-blocking. That's where using a VPN comes in. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/x4WvmjGdnEUCFeqhMUrnWo.jpg How to watch Andrade vs Sulecki: US live streamhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/jgvvohCEmS99W9XuRfJMSo.jpg How to watch a Andrade vs Sulecki live stream in Canadahttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/B9XNGCRYNHKJzN5zVfTMje.jpg How to watch the Andrade vs Sulecki fight: UK streamhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/D39crXd3gob7KPsE3LAFUo.jpg How to watch the fight in Australiahttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/ebGZgkd4qVX7mUuvz3WNkH.jpg http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/digital-home/~4/owPcg82rToY

Following the success of All Elite Wrestling’s debut Double or Nothing event over Memorial Day Weekend, the promotion is back with its second event...AEW Fyter Fest. As it looks to build momentum to try and take on the might and money of the WWE, you can see all the action tonight with our guide to watch AEW Fyter Fest for FREE. The main card will feature six matches including a huge six-man tag team matchup where Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks will face off against the Lucha Brothers and Laredo Kid. Cody will take on Darby Allin in a singles match and Jon Moxley and Joey Janela will go head to head in a match wrestling fans won’t want to miss. The event will coincide with the 10th year of the CEO Fighting Game Championships. New Japan Pro Wrestling held matches during last year’s gaming convention and now it’s AEW’s turn. Today’s wrestling will begin with The Buy In pre-show where SCU will take on Best Friends and Private Party in a three-way tag team match with the winner earning a shot at All Out for first-round bye in the world tag team championship tournament. Next Michael Nakazawa will take on Alex Jebailey in a hardcore match to close out the pre-show. Unlike Double or Nothing which was a $50 pay-per-view event, AEW will stream Fyter Fest for free on B/R live. This will likely help AEW keep up the momentum as it prepares for its new TV series that will air on TNT this fall and it’s also a great way to say thank you to the promotion’s fans. Wherever you are in the world, we’ll show you how to watch AEW Fyter Fest live online so that you don’t miss a single second of tonight’s action. Want to watch Major League Baseball, too? Check out our MLB live stream guidehttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/VgyagGS9HpAEPUQtUJBfrg.jpg Live stream AEW Fyter Fest from outside your countryScroll down if you’re reading this in the US, Canada or UK - we’ve described you’re watching options in more detail down there. But if you’re abroad this weekend and unlucky enough to be in a country where the only way to catch the wrestling is via some dodgy, illegal stream you’ve found on Reddit - or if you discover your home coverage is geo-blocked where you are - then we have a top tip to get a much better way to watch. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/x4WvmjGdnEUCFeqhMUrnWo.jpg How to watch AEW Fyter Fest: USA live streamWrestling fans in the US are in luck as AEW Fyter Fest will be streamed for free on Bleacher Report Live (B/R Live). To get access to this live stream, you’ll have to sign up for an account but considering the promotion’s inaugural event Double or Nothing was a $50 PPV, this seems like a small price to pay to watch tonight’s wrestling. Once you’ve setup an account, you’ll be able to watch AEW Fyter Fest for free on PC, mobile, Roku, Apple TV or Amazon Fire TV. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/VgyagGS9HpAEPUQtUJBfrg.jpg http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/jgvvohCEmS99W9XuRfJMSo.jpg How to get a AEW Fyter Fest live stream in CanadaAEW didn’t forget about Canada and just like in the US, Fyter Fest will be streamed for free on B/R Live. You’ll need to sign up for an account but once you do, you’ll be able to watch the event in its entirety on your favorite streaming devices, your smartphone and on PC. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/VgyagGS9HpAEPUQtUJBfrg.jpg http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/B9XNGCRYNHKJzN5zVfTMje.jpg How to watch the Fyter Fest AEW PPV in the UKUnfortunately if you’re in the UK and want to watch tonight’s event, you’ll have to pay but thankfully not that much as ITV has announced that Fyter Fest and AEW’s next event Fight for the Fallen, will both be available on FITE.TV. Getting access to a Fyter Fest live stream in the UK will cost you just £8.99 which is still quite reasonable. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/ebGZgkd4qVX7mUuvz3WNkH.jpg http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/digital-home/~4/THNKujjjjeg

With 12 points from 7 matches, Australia appear to be peaking at the right time and go into today's match as strong favourites. However, if the Kiwis rekindle the sparkling form they showed at the start of the tournament, we could see the Aussies' unbeaten record come under threat. You'll be able to watch all the action from their clash no matter where you are in the world by using our Australia vs New Zealand live stream guide below. Both teams may be comfortably placed with Australia already in the semis and New Zealand just a point away from joining them there, but don't expect either side to kick back today in what should be an intriguing battle of the two neighbouring rivals. History isn't on New Zealand's side - they've only won one out of seven World Cup matches between the two nations. Data visualization can make IT operations and tasks so much easier to understand. Rather than being faced with walls of data, simple charts can provide key information quickly. This is especially the case during real-time processes for monitoring purposes, where information needs to be provided in a quick and easy to understand manner. However, data visualization has also become the norm for a whole range of other processes, from presentations to workflows, to project management and business intelligence. Ultimately visualization will provide clear indicators of trends from large sets of data, or present otherwise important information such as core tasks or assignments in management processes. The key to visualization is simplicity in the presentation, no matter how it is applied, and while there are industry specific applications of visualization, we'll present the best in general software platforms that can work in the widest range of situations. Concerned about business security? Check out the best encryption softwareWant your company or services to be added to this buyer’s guide? Please email your request to desire.athow@futurenet.com with the URL of the buying guide in the subject line.http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/wzetky3JbsXRw5rVwjwchA.jpg Image Credit: Quire If you need to manage and visualize projects but don’t require advanced functionality that is unnecessary and clutters your project management, Quire might be your tool of choice. Quire works by letting you map out tasks and thoughts in a simple to-do list format that can easily be rearranged and assigned to team members. Once tasks have been defined in the app, you can visually organize and assign these tasks using a Kanban board built into the system. The software makes it easy to flip between task lists and the Kanban board as needed. The beauty of Quire is that it also offers a number of visual representations of your task list that you can choose from, including pie charts, project summaries and graphs. All the basic visual representations are there except for Gantt charts, the one strike against this platform. Overall, though, Quire delivers a streamlined project management interface that nicely strikes a balance between simplicity and power. Sign up for Quire herehttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/CGw7F42uttd2N2AtbvE2YC.jpg Image Credit: Casual There are many ways in which you can visually organize your project. If your preferred style is flowchart-based organization, you’re going to love Casual. Instead of Kanban boards or Gantt charts, Casual is built exclusively around a single flowchart interface where you organize projects by drawing lines between tasks, and assign team members to each step in the flowchart. Each team member gets a task list based on the flowchart, but essentially project managers that use Casual track progress through the single-pane flowchart. Casual is easily the best solution if you prefer the flowchart format and have a project that can be represented in that format. If you want a range of charts and other ways to organize or manage a large team, however, Casual is not for you. Sign up for Casual herehttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/rrTrVDxzjLccU9mSVdUe3E.jpg Image Credit: Asana Asana is one of the web-based project management leaders, and with good reason. You get most of the project management tools you expect with the platform, including task lists, Kanban boards, calendar format, conversations and Gantt charts. You manage projects by entering tasks on a task list, with manual or auto assignment to team members. A Kanban board makes organization of these tasks easy, and a timeline (read: Gantt chart) visually shows the progress of the project. While task management is quite visual, and most project managers will feel at home on the platform, Asana lacks a chart dashboard for tracking progress metrics in other visual representations. So this is visual management, but it isn’t strong on visual data representation. Sign up for Asana herehttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/cahnjUtG6584UsLsRz8DiF.jpg Image Credit: Wrike If Gantt charts and dashboards are your thing, Wrike should be on your project management shortlist. Wrike makes it easy to create tasks and workflows, and then manage these tasks visually in a Gantt chart or calendar format. One feature that’s great about Wrike is that you can visually create custom workflows for your project. Data visualization is also a strong point for Wrike, which lets you set up custom dashboard items that visually show the progress of key project metrics. In one quick view, you can see the status of each area of the project. Furthermore, Wrike is highly scalable, with many integrations to other platforms and support for large teams. Sign up for Wrike herehttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/BCW338m3JHVYT4XZfYT6SH.jpg Image Credit: Targetprocess If you want everything in your project management software, including a host of data representation options, Targetprocess is for you. Taking a dashboard approach but also working in Kanban and Gantt chart formats, Targetprocess basically gives your project the full suite of features. Complex task lists can be configured and rearranged, and it comes with a multitude of data representation views that can be added to the dashboard for quick progress assessment. Targetprocess is geared towards agile software development projects, and it can be overwhelming in its feature set and clunky in its interface, but this solution visually represents data in more ways than rivals, and does everything a software project manager could want. Of all the 2019 Women's World Cup quarter-finals, Geremany vs Sweden might be the hardest to call. With a heatwave taking hold across France, two of the World Cup's coolest customers will be looking to keep their heads in what looks likely to be a close encounter.Today's 2019 Women's World Cup quarter-final match between the two European giants looks likely to be a tense encounter, and it's one you'll be able to watch from anywhere around the world with our Germany vs Sweden live stream guide below. It's been four years since the Germans were beaten by Sweden - a 2015 Algarve Cup group stage match which saw the Swedes triumph 4-2. Having not won a World Cup title since their consecutive double in 2003 and 2007, Germany will be out to make sure that that record remains intact. Germany made it through their group as convincing winners with maximum points and maintained their good form by seeing off Nigeria in clinical fashion to reach the last 8. While Sweden slipped up against the USA in the group phase (a defeat some pundits say they were happy to take as it ensured they would avoid hosts France in the last 16), they look capable of acting revenge against the Germans for their 2003 final defeat - the Swede's best ever showing in the tournament Don't miss any of today's action by following the instructions below and grabbing a live stream of Germany vs Sweden wherever you are in the world. Park your cars, lock up your bikes and burn your shoes, because there’s a new form of transport in cities, and it could be the future of travel – electric scooters. Electric scooters are faster than bicycles, cheaper than cars (by a long shot) and take a lot less effort to go long distances than walking – and you look incredibly cool on them. But there’s more than that – they’re quiet, small-ish, and more environmentally friendly than driving, so they’re a far more sustainable mode of transport. Would you swap your car for an electric scooter? We rode an electric scooter to E3 every dayElectric scooters are coming to NYCIf electric scooters are such a great way of travelling then, why doesn’t everybody use them? To find out, I took a Xiaomi M365 Pro to work for a week – for research purposes only, of course. Bear in mind that you might not be lucky enough to live in a place that’s lenient when it comes to the new form of travel, so check our guide on electric scooter laws where you live before you scoot your way straight to jail. The first rideElectric scooters require you to actually be moving before you press down the power button, so it felt a little terrifying pushing off into the busy traffic on my first commute – my tiny scooter paled in comparison to the massive buses and trucks surrounding me, like I was a pug caught up in a stampede of wildebeest, until the motor kicked in and I sailed away. It was an exhilarating feeling, coasting alongside these big vehicles without having to put any effort in at all – it also didn’t once feel unsafe, despite the fact I was balanced on a tiny board, because just like cycling you find a way to control your movements to stay upright. It was a little challenging turning, however. Usually cyclists put out an arm to indicate, so this is what I did when I wanted to turn right – which meant I took my hand off the power button, and stopped dead in the street. Oops. Fortunately the road was pretty quiet, so I didn’t end up under a bus, but it was still a bit of a shock, and subsequently I made sure to be going fast enough that, when I indicated, I didn’t stop. This was still a little scary given that I was only scooting with one hand, but it did the job. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/DQRieDV5rnpeepZtr8ZYh3.jpg Image credit: TechRadar Talking of pressing the button – try holding down one button with your thumb for ten minutes at a time while going high-speed (well, 20kmph) down the road! It got a little painful after a while, but thankfully traffic lights in my city only spend a few seconds each hour green, so I spent more time waiting than I did moving. When I could get to high speeds, I found the electric scooter found the perfect balance – it wasn’t so fast it posed a danger to other people on the street, with a max speed of 25kmph (although some scooters go up to 50kmph, which seems a bit much), but I wasn’t so slow that it was a bore. Soon enough, though, I was zipping among the traffic and barely stopping at lights like any good motorist. When I got to work that first morning, I was a little shaken, and a little late too (I’d given myself an optimistic half-hour to get to work, but I had to keep stopping to look at a map to find the best routes to travel, which added a lot of time). Between tripshttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/k6uGXsqhP9zwry9h7kTUXB.jpg Image credit: TechRadar I didn’t need a parking space for the electric scooter, nor did I need to lock it up at a station – instead, I took it to work, parked it near my desk, plugged it in, and let the mains power do the hard work. It’s good that I didn’t need to park it, because finding parking spaces in the middle of a busy city is like trying to find a good Amazon Prime Day deal on Black Friday, and the convenience of being able to take my transport into work saved a lot of time. Charging the scooter did take a while, but that was never a problem because I was at work so long, and it was a lot cheaper than filling up with petrol so I appreciated the superior fuel. Getting a handle(bar) on itAfter a few trips, I felt like my scooter and I became at one with the road, and I was no longer worried about my place. In fact, my worries shifted from the scooter, which was now just a part of me, to the road, and all the hazards that usually plague my city – pedestrians who’ll cross the road without looking, drivers who don’t know what a red light means, taxis that can only stop in the middle of busy junctions, buses the size of tanks. When I had my route down, I cut my commute down to 25 minutes door-to-door – that’s less than half the time it normally takes me to walk it, and also shorter (and cheaper) than getting public transport, which takes 45 minutes on a good day. The only problem I found was that my Fitbit was seriously unhappy about my lack of steps – the roughly 7,000 I’d get each way to work turned into about 5, which wasn’t exactly great for my health. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/tqsP6gjSeScM2t3uk9JXTB.jpg Image credit: TechRadar It also feels a little unsafe to zip along busy streets gulping in all the polluted air, but that’s less the responsibility of scooter riders and more on the noisy cars that clog up our roads. In fact, the silent grace of the electric scooter, putting out no fumes or air pollution, felt like the ideal way we should travel in the future. Scoot into the futureSteve Jobs once said he thought future cities would be designed around electric scooters. In our diesel-vehicle-loving culture that seems a little far-fetched, but perhaps the world would be a better place if we all scooted everywhere. The scooter is an environmentally-friendly, unobtrusive and clean way of travelling – if you want any more proof than just looking at them, check out Lime’s environmental stats from 2018. Electric scooters are super convenient too – it radically slashed my commute time, and was so much more pleasant than cramming myself into a small metal shell with thousands of other people, or slogging for an hour to get to work. I’d go so far as to say the electric scooter revolutionized my commute, and it could for a lot more people if we embrace it. It’ll take a few more years, for all countries to legalize the form of transport, but we could get there. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/digital-home/~4/r1WfBJNe97I

Google isn't planning a beta test for its Stadia gaming service
sincity posted a topic in Technology
The November launch for Google Stadia is approaching fast, and you can already pre-order access to the cloud gaming service – but you won't be able to sign up for a beta test, because there isn't going to be one. Speaking to GamesRadar+, Google's vice president and head of Stadia Phil Harrison ruled out the possibility of launching a beta version of the service, beyond the Project Stream tests that have already happened. "We are not going to do another test in the UK or Europe," says Harrison. "If we had time we probably would have done so, but we don't need to." News on Stadia game pricesThe next Nvidia Shield is on the wayWhen your Stadia connection dropsIn other words, you won't be able to try before you buy – you'll just have to trust that Stadia is going to work on your internet connection and hardware when you stump up the cash. There is at least a free tier to take advantage of, after the initial purchase of the controller and Chromecast. More Stadia tidbitsThe GamesRadar+ reveal comes from the latest in a series of interviews that Harrison is doing with the gaming press. Yesterday we heard how games on Stadia are likely to cost the same as they do on a console. For a $10/£9 monthly fee, you're going to be able to get access to a selection of games as part of your subscription, and in 4K as well – but certain top-tier titles are going to cost you extra. The free version, with lower resolutions, launches next year. The only way to get into Google Stadia at the moment is to pre-order the Founder's Edition for $129/£119 direct from Google. As yet there don't appear to be any plans to launch the gaming service in Australia. In a separate interview, Harrison says he expects broadband data caps in the US to increase or disappear altogether so that Stadia gamers can stream interrupted. He also confirmed if games were pulled from the Stadia library, they'd still be available to those who had purchased them. Apple’s next major update to its Mac and MacBook operating system – macOS Catalina – is coming later this year (the smart money is on a September launch), but now that Apple has released the public beta of the software, we’ve had a chance to play with some of the new features. As with previous updates to macOS, macOS 10.15 Catalina (to give it its full title), brings some genuinely useful, fun and exciting new features that will help change the way you use your Mac or MacBook. So, read on to find out what we think are the five best new macOS Catalina features. If these make you eager to test out the operating system as soon as possible, then check out our guide on how to download and install the macOS Catalina public beta. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/ryKdR5pV5hqoWeDqxjoSiS.jpg The new Twitter app for Mac is based off the iOS version and was made in only a few days (Image credit: Twitter/Apple) 1. iPad apps for MacThis is our choice for the best new feature to come with macOS Catalina, mainly because of the sheer potential it offers. The App Store on iOS is home to thousands of brilliant apps, and developers are now able to port their apps over to macOS so that they can run on Macs. This means you could soon see your favorite iPad and iPhone apps on macOS, which would bring a huge amount of new tools to your Mac. These apps run natively on your Mac, which means they will look and behave just like other Mac apps – and not like an emulated iPad app awkwardly crowbarred onto a Mac. Apple has made it so that iOS and macOS apps can run on the same code, so it will be easy for developers to bring their app to both platforms at once. Several iOS apps are already available in macOS, and we expect this number to grow rapidly. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/990fde8f07d98694985ce7c99657a684.jpg Using Sidecar you can use an iPad as a second screen (Image credit: TechRadar) 2. Sidecar turns your iPad into a second screenAnother of our favorite new features in macOS Catalina is Sidecar. This allows you to use an iPad as a second display alongside your Mac – effectively turning your iPad into an external monitor. So, you can use it to extend your desktop to create more workspace. You can drag your cursor between screens, and open multiple apps across both screens. A nice extra feature is that when using your iPad to display your Mac’s apps, if the apps support Touch Bar, those controls will appear at the bottom of the iPad’s screen – even if your Mac doesn’t have a Touch Bar! You can also mirror the desktop – so your iPad shows the same content as your Mac. This is great for sharing information or making impromptu presentations. If you have an Apple Pencil stylus, you can also use your iPad as a drawing pad for your Mac. So, you can draw and sketch in apps, and your work will appear on your Mac. Drag a document from your Mac to your iPad and you can write on it and mark it up, and you can insert sketches from your iPad into documents on your Mac. All you need to do is click ‘Insert from iPad’ and select ‘Add Sketch’. A window will appear on your iPad. Sketch or write in that, then click ‘Done’ and it will appear in your document on the Mac! Perhaps best of all, Sidecar works with your iPad no matter if it’s connected via a cable or used wirelessly – you just need to be within 10 meters of your Mac. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/TiK8zoYEjaG5Hk7zpEaaEX.png Voice Control is one of the best new features of macOS Catalina (Image credit: Apple) 3. Voice ControlApple has done a commendable job of boosting the accessibility tools in macOS Catalina, meaning that more people are able to comfortably use their Macs. The most powerful new accessibility feature in macOS Catalina is Voice Control, which, as the name suggests, allows you to control every aspect of your Mac via your voice. It’s built on the Siri speech recognition engine, so all the latest machine learning advances that Apple has built for its virtual assistant can be used for audio-to-text transcription on your Mac. While using your voice to write notes, you can use voice commands to edit the text as you go along – such as adding uppercase letters, replacing works (or whole lines) and selecting text. You can add custom words, and unlike some voice-to-text software which uploads your recordings to the cloud, all the audio processing for Voice Control is done on your device – which ensures your private data remains private. Voice Control is also clever enough to know when you're dictating something, and when you’re issuing commands. So, saying “See you at home. Click send” in the Messages app will only type out “See you at home” and will then send the message. Apps, menus and a lot more can all be controlled with the new Voice Control tool as well. Apps can be split into grids, giving you complete control, and voice gestures can replicate common mouse and trackpad gestures. While the other macOS Catalina features in this list add cool new elements to your Mac or MacBook, the new Voice Control tool could change lives. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/Z9FepLJQVYW2pFeGdav5Ti.png The Apple Music app is a great addition (Image credit: Apple) 4. The new Music appWhen news emerged that Apple was killing off iTunes and replacing it with four distinct apps, not many people mourned the loss of iTunes, but many of us wondered how successful the replacement apps would be. After all, would replacing one (admittedly bloated) app with four separate ones make life easier – or just complicate things? The good news is that these new apps benefit from their renewed focus. While iTunes became too concerned with trying to do everything, the new Music app has a single vision for making it easy to import, buy or stream your music. Its interface is similar to iTunes, so you’ll feel at home, but there’s been some nice tweaks. For example, the Now Playing section shows lyrics while the song you’re listening to is playing. If you’re an Apple Music subscriber, the service is now integrated better in the Music app. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/MtpHkMa87FpbhQaPDmqBWA.png The Apple TV app has a dedicated section for kids (Image credit: Apple) 5. The Apple TV appAnother new app that replaces iTunes is the Apple TV app. This is where you’ll find your movies and TV shows – and you’ll be able to buy and rent the latest movies and watch TV shows on demand with an Apple TV subscription. Apple TV channels include HBO, Showtime and Starz, and thanks to Family Sharing you can share your subscription with up to six family members. The new interface makes it easy to find content, and there’s a dedicated Kids section that’s carefully curated to provide the best movies and TV shows for children. Oh, and the Apple TV app supports Dolby Atmos for immersive 3D-positional sound. Best Mac 2019: the best Macs to buy this yearhttp://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/digital-home/~4/hhyy-0pzSZQ

Online food delivery company Grubhub has purchased thousands of domain names that resemble those of businesses that are either already on its platform or are trying to be according to a new report from New Food Economy. The company owns over 23,000 of these look-alike domains that it has set up to resemble landing pages for restaurants on its platform. The sites even have an online ordering form to trick consumers into thinking they belong to the restaurants themselves. Restaurant owners are up in arms over the discovery and they believe that Grubhub is tricking users that try to visit their sites into ordering on its platform instead. Four things to think about when considering domain namesFraudulent domains are remaining active for longerHow major brands are falling foul of domain name cybersquattersThe company is the largest online food delivery service in the US and is also the parent company to a number of other similar services including Eat24, MenuPages and Seamless. However, rivals DoorDash and Uber Eats have begun to threaten its dominance as they have become increasingly more popular. Fake sitesAll of the domains owned by Grubhub use a similar template and showcase items from the menus of actual restaurants. To make matters worse, some of the fake sites even use photos taken directly from the restaurant's official website or from other competing delivery services. The company's scheme works as such, Grubhub buys domains that are similar to a restaurant's website and then uses their original logos along with stolen pictures of food to set up a very convincing fake site. These sites also include links where customers can place orders that actually direct them back to one of the delivery services owned by the company. The fake sites are just another way to earn more commission from restaurants but Grubhub defended its deceptive practices in a statement emailed to New Food Economy, saying: “Grubhub has never cybersquatted, which is identified by ICANN as ‘generally bad faith registration of another person’s trademark in a domain name.’ As a service to our restaurants, we have created microsites for them as another source of orders and to increase their online brand presence. Additionally, we have registered domains on their behalf, consistent with our restaurant contracts. We no longer provide that service and it has always been our practice to transfer the domain to the restaurant as soon as they request it.” Restaurant owners who are concerned that their site may have been copied can review the full list compiled by New Food Economy here. Best Amazon Prime movies: the best films to stream in June 2019
sincity posted a topic in Technology
Amazon Prime may be best known for its original TV series these days, including Good Omens and The Tick, but it also adds a huge selection of new movies each and every week to suit a wide range of tastes. UPDATE: Amazon has recently added a number of new-ish releases to its library, including the remake of spooky (and not to mention gory) horror flick Suspiria. But this week there are also some older titles that are really worth a watch, including Darren Aronofsky's haunting movie The Fountain and 80s classic Rain Man, starring Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman. Although Amazon Prime's top rival Netflix also focuses on original content and new movies, Amazon does a good job of keeping its movie streaming catalogue loaded up with classics, fun action flicks and some award-winning films too. The problem is you often have to go hunting for the best options, as they don't always show up straight away in Amazon's Recently Added Movies section. Having said that, there are also lots of films in Amazon's library that are boring, mediocre and really, really rubbish. The cream is there, but there's a lot to dig through first. That’s why we've done all the hard work for you. We've scoured all of the movies on offer for anything and everything that's worth watching on Amazon Prime. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/dopc4jG43FXPYCTbsy2HmC.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime We've collected together more than 100 movies that you can stream on Amazon Video (that’s the movies and TV streaming section of Amazon Prime) for free right now. Expect a mixture of recent releases and timeless classics, as well as films that are suitable for the whole family. We all know that streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video can turn an occasional movie-watching hobby into hours (and hours and hours) of endlessly flicking through film options. It's also worth bearing in mind that for every award-winning work of art on Amazon Video, there's lots of B-movie trash that isn't even worth putting on to ease away a Sunday morning hangover. Although we do love the odd guilty pleasure now and again, in this list we’ve created you'll only find the best picks. So let's dive straight in. Get your free 30-day Amazon Prime trialHere's our Best Amazon Prime TV ShowsRival check: These are our best movies on Netflix UKAnd here are the best shows on NetflixThe best Netflix sci-fi movies you can stream right nowThe best horror movies you can scare yourself silly withEnd of Watchhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/b7ba7QXBUV2YLK3pjU5uRn.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Before David Ayer was assembling a Suicide Squad and creating one of the most abysmal comic-book movies ever, he made this highly original film that’s shot documentary style and focuses on a couple of cops whose job it is to patrol South Central LA and keep the peace. Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña are superb as the pair who risk life and limb to do their job. Given Ayer grew up on streets not dissimilar to what’s being portrayed in the movie, End of Watch is a searing and honest portrayal of an area of America few would dare venture. Free Firehttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/EJNVM9oFWwAEA8ktAmJvCM.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Set in Boston in the late '70s, Free Fire is a fantastic, inventive film that mostly takes place in a warehouse. Because of the limited scenario, it's thanks to Ben Wheatley's effortless and stylish direction and the superb ensemble cast - and lots and lots of gun play - that Free Fire never becomes boring. Hannahttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/wxozchHotrS7oKSzp6cc4S.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Starring Saoirse Ronan, Cate Blanchett and Eric Bana, this movie is about Hanna, a girl as smart and strong as a soldier who lives with her ex-CIA father in Finland. But other forces want to disturb their domestic bliss in the wilderness. Watch Hanna on Amazon Prime Video. Heathttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/CCJ8BcQC7rYMU9HtU4g2am.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Heat is widely regarded as Michael Mann’s best film. And it also has the classic combo of Robert De Niro and Al Pacino at the height of their acting powers. De Niro’s Neil McCauley is planning one last heist before retirement and Pacino’s Lieutenant Hanna has to stop him. A story of two flawed alpha males on each side of the law, their relationship is one of both enmity and respect. This isn’t your average by-the-numbers crime thriller. The Hurt Lockerhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/xMGjop9HmZz9zdZeDmNakY.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Kathryn Bigelow is one of the best action directors around, so it’s no surprise that The Hurt Locker won her the Best Director award at the Oscars - the first time a women won the accolade. What is surprising, though, is just how nuanced the film is. Given it’s about disposing of bombs, the tension is in the quiet moments, rather than when the explosions start. John Wick: Chapter 2http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/how67DUVYc6YGkRS7SAUme.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime John Wick: Chapter 2, or just John Wick 2, is an action thriller starring Keanu Reeves. He plays a retired hitman who was forced back into the business in the first instalment of the John Wick trilogy. It's full of slick action, fantastic one-liners and great-looking city scenes drenched in neon lights. Logan Luckyhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/uRCbS4bNdaVbKXZhcddmWe.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Brothers Jimmy, played by Channing Tatum, and Clyde, played by Adam Driver, plan to carry out an elaborate robbery during the Charlotte Motor Speedway. It's an action-packed comedy with a stellar cast, alongside Driver and Tatum, Daniel Craig, Hilary Swank, Katie Holmes and Sebastian Stan all star. Steven Soderbergh reportedly came out of retirement in order to direct and distribute Logan Lucky, if you wanted anymore proof it's definitely worth a watch. Tonyahttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/p2YN3dxjz9GunHPdsdKfHD.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime This dark comedy follows the life of Tonya Harding, a talented figure skater in her own right who was at the centre of a huge controversy in 1994 when her rival, Nancy Kerrigan, was attacked. Margot Robbie stars in the lead role and the story is told in a series of interviews based on real-life interviews of Tonya, her mother and her ex-husband. Molly's Gamehttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/DU9dAvXbyFfCjPyVjBKiQo.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime A hard-hitting crime drama written and directed by Aaron Sorkin that's based on the true story of Molly Bloom (played by Jessica Chastain), an Olympic skier who ran an underground poker empire in Hollywood and the FBI investigation that's targeting her. The Illusionisthttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/tfxMg76xr4RheQTPYVNjqS.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime This dreamy, almost fairy-tale-like story follows a famous magician called Eisenheim who is based in early 1900s Vienna. He falls in love with a woman way out of his league when it comes to class and money and when she's engaged to a prince, he does everything he can to sabotage their plans. Just as they're about to start planning what to do with it, they realise someone is living inside. It's a mysterious, heart-warming drama starring Reese Witherspoon and Matthew McConaughey that's got great reviews and is definitely worth a watch if you've not seen it before. The Wrestlerhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/fsHNV6HDfH3PiiWqpXFrx7.png Image Credit: Amazon Prime This touching and (and at times heart-breaking) movie from Darren Aronofsky is about a wrestler (played by Mickey Rourke) who despite being too old and ill for the ring tries to cling onto the success he had decades before while trying to rebuild his relationship with his daughter. Last Flag Flyinghttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/y2nYVhRNX6KfABT3TqoG3g.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Based on Darryl Ponicsan's book of the same name, Last Flag Flying is Richard Linklater's latest movie starring Steve Carell, Bryan Cranston and Laurence Fishburne. That stellar line-up play three veterans who reunite after one of their sons is killed in the Iraq War. Borg Vs McEnroe http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/iuJGjocrLd7ie7frS4ri8i.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Perhaps one of the most iconic tennis matches of all time has been immortalized in this drama from director Janus Metz Pedersen starring Sverrir Gudnason as Björn Borg and Shia LaBeouf as John McEnroe. This isn't just about the tennis though, as the drama follows how the legendary duel at Wimbledon affected the men's lives too. The Lost City of Zhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/NmcjRhP7xyBBhneqt9bwFH.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Largely overlooked upon its release, The Lost City of Z is in fact a fascinating tale, with Charlie Hunnam playing real-life British explorer Percy Fawcett. At the turn of the 20th century he ventured into the heart of the Amazon, and discovered an unknown, advanced civilisation. It become a great passion, understanding this culture, with Fawcett returning multiple times to demystify a people previously considered "savages", before Fawcett himself mysteriously disappeared. If you're adverse to films starring Robert Pattinson (co-starring here) after his Twilight days, don't let that stop you from giving this wonderful film a go. Silencehttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/VgJTWXGr6RGnHeEcSZtEtD.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Martin Scorsese has been in the movie business long enough to do whatever he wants. Silence is his him at his most uncompromising. A difficult sell after the fleeting fun that was Wolf of Wall Street, Silence is a meditative, hard-to-watch movie about pilgrimage. Starring Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver as two monks who go on a journey to find a place where Christians are put to extremes to prove their love for god. It's a trying movie and one that takes the utmost concentration. It's not quite the masterpiece Scorsese was seeking, given he's been mulling the story for decades but it's a worthy, if meandering watch. Manchester By The Seahttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/5NRyyv7HrgXPUVKrjjeDmN.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime It's hard not to write about Manchester By The Sea without stepping into spoiler territory so here's the broad strokes: Casey Affleck stars as a Boston janitor who has to take care of his brother's son after his brother dies. What ensues is a heartbreaking movie. Its backdrop is a snowy Manchester in Massachusetts, something that echoes the characters in the movie. This isn't a film that wraps up neatly in a bow in the end - it's much more closer to fractured, complicated business that is real life. Roomhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/FYWMqScEvU6Zn8ymm8HuGn.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Brie Larson stars in this heartfelt study of human endurance. Larson is Ma. She has been imprisoned in a small shed for years, having to bring up her little boy Jack (a great Jacob Tremblay) in isolation. The film follows their story to the bittersweet end. For a film that’s mostly shot within the confines of a small room, director Lenny Abrahamson manages to eek out pathos in the mundane but it’s the acting of the two leads that’s the real reason to watch the heart-rending movie. Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spyhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/H9z9RGmXGF8BncgX7Xwo7n.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime John LeCarre’s superb spy novel is given a decent adaptation, thanks to Let Me In director Tomas Alfredson’s measured, careful take on the source material. Gary Oldman is superb as George Smiley, the veteran spy catcher brought out of retirement to find an Russian mole in the ranks of the MI6. Even if you know who the mole is, the way the film unfurls this information is utterly captivating. The King's Speechhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/9KHhUjhminubZH985fDfNa.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Another Oscar winner seemingly grown in a petri dish for the sole purpose to win awards, The King's Speech is one man's struggle to get over a speech impediment and subsequent fear of public speech - it just so happens this man is also the king of England. For all its faults, it tugs on the right strings and is very watchable. The world is divided into two, the rich live on a fancy man-made space station and the poor are left to fend for themselves in dire conditions on Earth. It may not have been as well-received as District 9, but it's a fascinating take on the future with plenty of thrilling action - even if the story doesn't hold up so well in places. Inceptionhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/f4qQBHB3qe3wqjnKHa3fjS.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Looperhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/Cq53H84mwCq7ibAkjGwTdP.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime One of the more interesting sci-fi movies of the past decade and a huge reason why director Rian Johnson got the Star Wars: Episode VIII gig. Looper focuses on the timey wimey tale of a bunch of hitmen, whose job it is to send people from the future into the past to kill them. Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are superb in the film, which manages to take complex ideas and boil them down into an entertaining popcorn thriller. Attack The Blockhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/i7v38d7qjNybm5u5yTXbhP.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Star Wars alumni John Boyega got his first break on this great UK indie, as did newly instated Doctor Who Jodie Whittaker. Attack The Block is the first movie by Joe Cornish - of Adam and Joe fame - and it’s an absolute corker. Aliens have come to earth to wreak havoc and it’s down to a South London gang to make sure their neighbourhood doesn’t become a disaster zone. Full of warm wit and fantastic humour - not to mention some startling special effects - the movie mashes together a number of genres together and has a whole lot of fun doing it. Source Codehttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/UNnxx5UeRy5u9nR3HqXtbg.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime You wait years for a sci-fi movie that’s influenced by Groundhog Day to come along and then two appear at once. Yes, Source Code has a similar time-repeating plot to Edge of Tomorrow but it’s less bombastic and more thoughtful in its approach. Jake Gyllenhaal stars as the soldier who only has eight minutes to stop a bomber on a busy train, before time resets and he has to do the whole thing again. Duncan Jones does well in the director seat, managing to make a plot device that could grow old rather quick really work. Prisonershttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/u4MsboNtwuyEb84bfgQmG7.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Directed by Denis Villeneuve, the plot focuses on the abduction of two girls and the search for their abductor. It's heart-breaking and full of suspense with exceptional performances from Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal. The Hunthttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/3XHf6ceE7Yny8V9dTxWvx5.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime The Hunt is a Danish movie starring Mads Mikkelsen. It's set in a small village and follows the story of a man (played by Mikkelsen) who becomes the target of mass hysteria when he's been wrongfully accused of sexually abusing a child. Terminalhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/Vg6fRiYWG4gYwek42vo2an.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime This noir thriller is about two assassins who realise they're part of an evil mastermind's plans. It didn't receive great reviews, but Robbie's acting and the aesthetic of the movie have been praised, so if you're a fan of hers then it might be worth a lazy Sunday afternoon watch. The Killing of a Sacred Deerhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/kTZkhaiD9umsJrfN7fyGQ9.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos or The Lobster and Dogtooth fame, The Killing of a Sacred Deer is an intense psychological horror movie based on the Greek play Iphigenia at Aulis by Euripides. It follows the story of a successful cardiac surgeon (played by Colin Farrell) who befriends a mysterious teen. As you'd expect from a psychological horror from Lanthimos, this is hardly an easy Sunday afternoon watch. You've been warned. The Handmaidenhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/4fyzTuVhD8JbG2C7fY7Bcd.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Describe a movie as erotic and it usually conjures up something that's utterly not sexy like 50 Shades of Grey or the Lego Movie. The Handmaiden, though, is erotic and shimmers as a result. Directed by South Korean's finest, Park Chan-wook, the movie is masterful in its suspense and when sex is shown - and it's a lot of the time - it's used to bolster the characters and the story, rather than for pure titillation. The Handmaiden is yet another new release that's headed to Amazon Prime Video - we're not sure why it keeps getting all these 'just released on Blu-ray' movies but we're happy that it's happening. Chloehttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/HLoTZtC8ScNhGYhvLKAmvm.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Director Atom Egoyan is not one to take the conventional route when telling his tales - and Chloe is no different. Starring Julianne Moore, Amanda Seyfried and Liam Neeson, it’s about a seemingly normal couple who resort to using a sex worker to test the trust in their relationship. This turns out to be a very bad decision. The film is a remake of the superior French drama Nathalie but it’s a decent thriller that manages to walk the line between gratuity and maturity well. The Place Beyond The Pineshttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/2zBCGWyNtQkVGatyk4Dnzm.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime This is most definitely a movie of two halves - in that something significant happens midway through that changes both the pace and tone of the movie considerably. For some, the shift is too much but it really does work. Ryan Gosling plays Luke, a fantastic stunt motorcyclist turned bank robber who’s trying to do the best for his family. Eva Mendes is his estranged partner, while Bradley Cooper crops up as Avery, a good cop that’s trying to make the best out of some terrible situations. Brilliantly acted and expertly told, The Place Beyond The Pines is a powerful movie watching experience. Get your free 30-day Amazon Prime trialSubmarinehttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/7gaWxbgo9oUWBre2xGXEgY.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Richard Ayoade has proved over two feature films that he is a director to watch. While The Double was a fascinating Gilliam-esque comedy thriller, his first movie was much more in keeping with the French New Wave, despite being set in the depths of Wales. It’s set in 1980s Swansea and focuses on the relationship between a teenage loner and a girl who seems to share his passion for doom and gloom. Craig Roberts is fantastic as the loner - a role that won him plaudits and the starring role in Amazon Prime’s fantastic TV show Red Oaks. Toni Erdmannhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/dUgfJ2SHzFKeZWftad3Ey.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime This is a superb movie. It's so good that a US remake has already been announced. Toni Erdmann is about an estranged father trying to reconnect with his daughter in a rather bizarre way: by pretending to be her boss's life coach. It's a surreal movie, packed with embarrassing moments and some surprising empathy. Four Lionshttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/tknsGDndnKqycWS6nHuYDn.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime It’s a shame that Chris Morris doesn’t do more stuff as when his new projects come along they always change the game in some way. Four Lions finds humour in one of the most serious subjects: terrorism. For a film shot in 2010, it’s still surprisingly current. It follows docu-style British jihadists who are trying to conjure up a terror plot. The problem is, they’re idiots. Starring, among others, Riz Ahmed, Four Lions is funny, frank and endlessly controversial. But it’s done in such a way that you can’t help but admire the movie. In The Loophttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/ZE9DPuEv9rgnKVdpggY85n.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime It’s a shame that The Thick Of It never hit the big screen. What with Brexit madness and the UK government a mess of contradictions, a movie starring Malcolm Tucker swearing them all into shape is sorely needed. In The Loop is the closest thing we’ve got. It’s a strange movie as it takes strands from The Thick Of It and ports it to the US. This means the film is a hybrid of The Thick of It and the US show Veep. What we do get though is Malcolm Tucker (a never-bettered Peter Capaldi), full of vim and vigor, spinning his way through the choppy waters that is US politics. It’s not perfect, but as satires go it’s one of the most searing. Get your free 30-day Amazon Prime trialYour Namehttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/RCRvuwjFu5otNDKDRHcd4D.jpg A surprise 2016 hit that saw a rare mainstream overseas success for Japanese anime, Your Name is a supernatural high-school-romance-come-body-swap disaster movie. Yep – there's a lot going on here, as a teenage boy and girl find themselves inhabiting each other's bodies, slowly unravelling the mystery surrounding their condition – and that of an awful disaster. J J Abrams of Lost and Star Wars fame is said to be looking into making a live-action version, such was the success of the animation – but it'll take something to top the magnificent original. Paddington 2http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/NubPVVLWY7UaoVWBZSPrEY.jpg Paddington 2 joins a select roster of movies where the sequel is better than the original. Paddington 2 is an absolute joy. It continues the adventures of Paddington, adding in a superb performance by Hugh Grant as one of the sweetest villains around and takes the story of the little bear to unexpected emotional heights. The Red Turtlehttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/2qZuEUUZFRQCFJfuGS6tgR.jpg Will the magic ever dim at Studio Ghibli? The lyrical animation powerhouse delivers yet again with The Red Turtle, the story of a man shipwrecked on a remote island, inhabited just by turtles, crabs and other critters. What appears a simple story slowly peels back to reveal hidden depths, with Studio Ghibli's inimitable attention to detail in animation remaining the industry benchmark. Son of Rambowhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/HFQfgZzGThbftqAGbGPeEG.jpg One of the most endearing coming-of-age movies you are likely to see, Son of Rambow is about two children growing up in the ’80s who are obsessed with Rambo. So much, they decide to make their own version of the movie with the help of their friends. What ensues is a fun, inventive film about the magic of childhood friendship and imagination. Directed by music video supremo Garth Jennings, Son of Rambow is a trio of love letters: one to the Eighties, one to home videos and the other to the cartoon violence that was born out of an era where Stallone, Schwarzenegger and Willis ruled the box office. The city in question is Tokyo, the lonely people are Bill Murray as an ageing actor and Scarlett Johansson as a college graduate left to her own devices by her photographer husband. The chemistry between Murray and Johansson is electric, both endearing and hilarious, as is the soundtrack and the way the film slowly creeps up on you in an wonderful way. True Romancehttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/93TsLS7ZHdD6wUTcTyNCQk.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime It's not your standard love story, but True Romance stands up as one of the greatest in Hollywood history. Take two unlikely lovers, a bunch of crooks, drugs, guns and arguably the best script Quentin Tarantino has ever worked on, and you've got a cult classic if ever there was one. When comic book nerd Elvis falls in love with Alabama, the beau of a big time drug dealing pimp, the two have to race across country in an attempt to avoid the mob from whom they've accidentally stolen a suitcase of cocaine from. With violence around every corner, will they ever be free to just enjoy each other's company? The Big Sickhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/bq32maqsP8AkMSypbqQuqT.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Loosely based of the real lives of the film's stars, Emily V Gordon and Kumail Nanjiani play an interracial couple who have to deal with Emily becoming ill and how cultural differences affect the couple. The film has been nominated for Best Original Screenplay at the Academy Awards 2018, but it's already on Amazon Prime ahead of this year's big ceremony. Vicky Cristina Barcelonahttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/urJs4MCHwDXoUrEPWG7Nwm.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Woody Allen managed to assemble a cracking ensemble for Vicky Cristina Barcelona. The film is a fun look at friends Vicky Cristina (Rebecca Hall) and Cristina (Scarlett Johansson) as they travel to Barcelona and meet a mysterious artist, played by Javier Bardem. It’s all sex and sultriness until his unhinged ex-wife appears. She’s played by Penelope Cruz with such magnetism that you are drawn to her and kind of forget the rest of the characters. It’s not Allen at his best but even his ‘good enough’ films are a cut above most. Blue Valentinehttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/hcWcewgbY3t6te8euAiQtm.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime There’s a deep, maddening love portrayed in Blue Valentine that is so powerful it ends up being destructive. With that in mind, this isn’t the movie to put on if you don’t want you and your loved one to question your own relationship. It’s a brutal, raw movie that focuses on the relationship between married couple Dean and Cindy, played by Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams respectively. They are two people in love, pushed apart by circumstance. The story flits back and forth in time, so with each tender moment you get anguish. Powerful stuff. Carolhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/pQWkeJvqxiSSYhCJ5M2Q6n.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Todd Haynes is one of the world's most fascinating directors, who loves to mine different eras for inspiration. While he courted the ’70s with Velvet Goldmine and I’m Not There, it is perhaps the ’50s where he has managed to use the tensions of the era to create superb character dramas. Carol is just that, a romantic tale between two women - Rooney Mara is the clerk that falls in love with Cate Blanchett’s character who is unhappy in a marriage of convenience. The anxieties and problems Haynes highlights in his earlier movie Safe are back with Carol. In this movie, though, everything has been given a more sumptuous sheen. Knight of Cupshttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/MGvKktGuRjM6EkM4FcbQ9Z.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Thank goodness we live in an era where Terrence Malick is back and making movies on a regular basis. Knight of Cups is as dreamlike and fractured as you have come to expect from the revered director. As with all his movies, it’s clear he shot way more footage and didn’t decide on what film he was making until he hit the edit suite, but that’s part of its charm. Here we see Christian Bale as Rick, a writer who flits between Vegas and LA with six different women. Vegas is perfect Territory for Malick, a desert of neon suits his filmmaking style. While the supporting cast Cate Blanchett, Natalie Portman and Freida Pinto all add gravitas to the film. Shot and directed by Marc Singer, Dark Days shines a light on those who live in underground tunnels under New York. Criminally, this was Singer’s only foray into documentary filmmaking but at least he created a classic. Gimme Dangerhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/QH9ZnaZzBaMxTT4A7XbG26.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Jim Jarmusch uses music in his movies to fine effect, so it makes complete sense that he is the one to helm a documentary about The Stooges and their enigmatic frontman, Iggy Pop. The Stooges may not have hit the heights of, say, The Rolling Stones but they’re an important piece of the rock puzzle. This doc does well to uncover what made the band tick, complete with recent talking heads with members of the band. It’s about a 12-year-old boy who strikes up a friendship with a vampire girl he meets in the snowy suburbs of Blackeburg in Stockholm. The less said about the film the better, because it really is unusual, beautiful and a treat for the eyes. The movie is in Swedish, with English subtitles, and although it was later remade for English-speaking audiences, it didn’t quite have the same magic as this original. The Woman In Blackhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/a6U2KMnHSxGZivQx8qipHH.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Daniel Radcliffe has done well to rid himself of his Harry Potter persona and it's all thanks to choosing roles in movies such as Women In Black. Based on the celebrated novel of the same name and in turn the stage play, the film is a gothic delight, harking back to the good ol' days when horror was implied rather than rammed down a watcher's throat. Well, until the final act at least. Prepare to feel your spine tingle. Kill Listhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/ei64C4vSydkdeTFdRoLhmd.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Director Ben Wheatley adds the right amount of realism and menace to Kill List - a film that is never quite what it seems. On the face of it, it’s a kitchen sink drama about a hitman and his latest assignment to kill three people but as the story unravels so does the hitman’s life (played in earnest by the brilliant Neil Maskell). It flirts at being a family drama, teases you that it’s a crime saga then hits you with the most relentless horror that you’ll be watching the end behind your hands. Great stuff. Suspiriahttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/dopc4jG43FXPYCTbsy2HmC.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime This supernatural horror from Luca Guadagnino is inspired by Dario Argento's classic 1977 film of the same name. It's about an American woman who travels to Berlin to join a prestigious dance school. The twist is it's run by a coven of witches. This film is bizarre, creepy and extremely gory – so only true horror lovers should give it a go. Train To Busanhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/GFQS4y7RPhLURvyxxR6PcE.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime South Korea has slowly but surely marked itself out as a country that's producing some fantastic filmmakers. Interestingly, two of the best movies from South Korean directors of recent times have been based on trains - Joon-ho Bong's Snowpiercer (which criminally never got a UK release) and Sang-ho Yeon’s Train To Busan. Train To Busan is a brilliant zombie horror movie. By having most of the action take place on a train, we see what it's like when a zombie epidemic takes hold in close confines, complete with cloying claustrophobia. It's part action movie, part love story, all character study, showing that a situation such as a freaking zombie outbreak can bring out the best and the very worst in people. Hell House LLChttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/bhmcoKfWKyp6qtUm4EKtjN.jpg Image Credit: Amazon Prime Well this was unexpected. The name Hell House LLC doesn't exactly scream 'must watch' but despite its rather Grindhouse-esque title, this is a brilliant slice of horror. The plot is simple: a group of friends who create haunted house experiences for Halloween find a house to convert that's seemingly filled with real-life ghosts. The movie is their footage spliced together, with police reports and the like. The found footage genre is rather stagnant now but Hell House manages to breathe new life into it, mustering up some genuine scares that will have even the most hardened horror fans watching from behind their fingers. Its final scenes don't quite match what went before it (or make much sense) but this is one of the best horror films to come out in years. Pontypoolhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/KR8U4seUmoJH5D6pQ7c79.jpeg Image Credit: Amazon Prime A low-budget chiller that takes place in a small town in Ontario, Canada (bet you can’t guess its name) and follows the exploits of a talk radio team who are reporting on strange goings on in the town. It’s essentially a movie about zombies but distilled through the eyes of a small, yet vocal, group of people. Its budget may well be small but its ambition is big and that’s what makes Pontypool such a fun watch. Ever since the Nintendo Switch Online service launched back in 2018, fans have been clamoring for a more fleshed-out online offering – mainly when it comes to retro games. Judging by this year's Nintendo shareholder's meeting, it looks like we may be getting what we asked for. Everything you get with the Nintendo Switch Online serviceCheck out the best co-op and multiplayer Switch gamesThese are the free Switch Online games this JuneAs reported by NintendoLife, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed to shareholders that the company was considering offering more than Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) games on its online platform: “At this place we cannot tell new information about future classic hardware among others, but we are thinking about providing an extension of the online service which is currently providing Famicom [NES] software, as well as other methods of providing them. We also recognise that there are opinions wanting to play past titles.” Alongside cloud saves, and the ability to play competitively against other players worldwide, Switch Online's 10 million subscribers gain access to a retro game emulator for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), with 2-3 new games being added each month. Unsurprisingly, many players – ourselves included – have wondered when the service would expand to include titles from other retro consoles like the SNES, Nintendo 64, or even the GameCube. Late to emulateFurukawa's comments show a willingness to add more retro titles in the future, and we'd be very surprised if Nintendo didn't include them at some point: if you have a back catalogue to attract more subscribers, why not use it? But Nintendo has added NES games sparingly, and it seems the team is in no rush to get other offerings on Switch Online. What's interesting about these comments is the suggestion that Nintendo might use "other methods of providing" retro titles, aside from the current NES emulator. Furukawa may be referring to the NES Classic Mini or SNES Classic Mini: refreshes of Nintendo's old consoles with a curated selection of games pre-loaded onto the hardware. We've been holding out hope for a N64 Classic Mini, and it may be Nintendo plans to issue more of these mini consoles before bringing more software to Switch Online subscribers. The ball's in Nintendo's court, and we only hope we don't have to wait too much longer. Not signed up? Google has given YouTube Music's Offline Mixtape feature a huge overhaul, enabling it to download up to 500 tracks for offline listening rather than the current 100. The new feature is called Smart Downloads, according to Android Central, and will automatically download tracks based on your listening habits. How to download YouTube videos for freeThe best free YouTube to MP3 converterWhat's the best music streaming service for you?Although YouTube Music is chiefly a music streaming service, Smart Downloads lets you save a bundle of tracks to your phone over your home Wi-Fi, so the app won't eat into your mobile data allowance while you're out and about. It's also very handy if you're going to be offline for a while (on a long flight, for example). Don't worry if you haven't got enough space on your phone for a vast music library, though – 500 is the maximum possible number of tracks to download, but you can set a lower limit if you prefer. Time (and data) is moneyYouTube Music will download tracks using an algorithm, which factors in your existing 100-track Offline Mixtape, your list of 'liked' tracks, and your favorite playlists and albums. You can still choose to download tracks individually if you prefer, but when Smart Downloads rolls out, it could save you an enormous amount of time and data. That sounds good to us. Needed more of an incentive to get an Amazon Prime subscription? The retail giant is set to unleash a horde of deals in the coming weeks in the run to – and certainly during – this year's Amazon Prime Day sales. But on the gaming side, it seems some of those goods are going to be given away for free. Amazon has announced that Twitch Prime users – those who have subscribed to Amazon Prime and connected it to their Twitch account – will be eligible for a number of free goodies for EA titles. Best Amazon Prime TV showsBest Amazon Prime moviesWill the Amazon Echo Show 5 get a discount for Prime Day?As of July 3, players of the battle royale game Apex Legends will get an "exclusive Legend skin and weapon skin", with more skins and content available throughout July and August – and unspecified gifts through "multiple EA Sports titles". It seems like most, if not all of it will be cosmetic items, rather than anything that gives an unfair advantage on the battlefield, and we're yet to see the designs – though part of us wants something as delightfully naff as a corporate Amazon Prime logo. Either way, it should provide some alternative looks for those wanting to stand out from the pack. Amazon will be going big on celebrations on July 13 with an eight-hour live-stream on Twitch Prime, kicking off at 6pm BST / 1pm EST / 10am PT, with the likes of gold-medallist Mo Farah and footballer Thierry Henry competing on the virtual playing field. With a concert headlined by Dua Lipa and Taylor Swift a few days before, it's clear Amazon is looking to make this year's Prime Day as big an event as it can. For the next week, BT is trying to persuade you to sign up for its fibre broadband deals by offering up some very attractive freebies. The telecommunications giant is already the most popular internet provider in the country, and a promotion this good will no doubt add even more to its market share. So what do these new broadband deals look like? Full details of the included packages are below, but we really like the look of its Superfast Fibre 1 plan, with which you'll be rewarded with both a £100 M&S voucher and a £40 pre-paid credit card. The voucher can be used in Marks and Spencer stores nationwide after you've claimed it here within three months of your internet installation. Upgrade to BT's Superfast Fibre 2 package for an extra £8 per month and that pre-paid Mastercard magically increases to £70 instead. You still get the £100 M&S voucher too, and BT's fastest widely available fibre speeds. Whichever deal you end up getting, BT is so stocked up on incentives that these are easily some of the best value fibre broadband deals around. You can see the best of these offers below or for something a bit different, check out our guide to the best broadband deals around, no matter the provider. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/VgyagGS9HpAEPUQtUJBfrg.jpg BT's latest fibre broadband deals - end July 4What is a BT Reward Card? The Reward Card that BT sends out is a pre-paid credit card that you can use anywhere that accepts Mastercard. In short, that's around a million shops, cafes and restaurants around the world, so you shouldn't find it difficult to find places to spend, spend, spend. It's an old-fashioned chip and pin card, rather than contactless. But do make sure that you claim your Reward Card within three months of installation, otherwise you'll lose out on all that cash. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/digital-home/~4/WGVAcHqAfSk

The fact that Google Stadia, the game streaming service from the search giant, will work over your internet connection and not require a traditional console, has led some to speculate that the price of its games may be notably cheaper than those you'd buy for other platforms. After all, to get the high-res, 4K versions of the games, you're going to already need to be paying out for a pricey internet connection, and a premium subscription to the Google Stadia service itself. The fact that the most sought-after releases will cost an additional fee may irk some. (A free version of Stadia will run from 2020, but will limit players to 1080p resolution, and won't offer the 'comes-with-the-subscription' library of games that the 'Pro' edition offers.) But in response to a question from Eurogamer, querying if Stadia's paid-for games would be any cheaper as a result of the above factors, Stadia chief Phil Harrison replied: "I don't know why it would be cheaper." Anytime, anywhereFor Harrison, it seems, the benefit of paying full price for a version of a game on Stadia, as opposed to on any other platform, is the accessibility it offers. "The value you get from the game on Stadia means you can play it on any screen in your life – TV, PC, laptop, tablet, phone," he said. "I think that is going to be valuable to players. "In theory, the Stadia version of a game is going to be at the highest-possible quality of innovation and sophistication on the game engine side." It's a time of great change for the industry, Harrison indicates, and player spending habits are shifting in a post-Netflix world. But the Stadia team also recognizes that, during this transitional period that's headed towards a digital-only gaming landscape, choice must be offered to both gamers and publishers. "Not every developer and publisher is ready to move to subscription yet," he added. "Frankly, not every gamer is ready to move to subscription yet. So we wanted to give gamers a choice so they could engage in the games they wanted in the way they wanted – and in all cases, without the very high upfront cost of buying a sophisticated device to put under their TV or on their desk." It's a fascinating interview, and we'd urge you to read the whole thing over at Eurogamer. Google Stadia will launch in November 2019, with Stadia Pro subscriptions costing $9.99 / £8.99 (about AU$14) a month, and requiring a 35Mbps internet connection to hit those full 4K HDR/60fps highs.
