Google’s upcoming mid-range Pixel 3a and 3a XL handsets have been some of the tech giant’s worst-kept secrets over the last few months, with leaks flooding in left, right and centre, but the latest influx of info gives us what appears to be our most concrete launch details yet. A teaser poster displayed on Google’s own store page has revealed that “on May 7, something big is coming to the Pixel universe”, which happens to coincide with the first day of the Google I/O conference. It also states that “help is on the way” and “the power is in your hands”. Google IO is returning to Shoreline Amphitheatre on May 7-9The Pixel 3a has even started showing up on the Google Store nowhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/5L54rKKmo8mtxzXPXfkZwD.jpg [image credit: Google] The teaser was found shortly after 9to5Google editor Stephen Hall tweeted his prediction that the Pixel 3a range will hit stores on May 7 – with a “confidence score of ~7/10”. As the teaser page’s URL and superhero-esque text may imply, the announcement coincides with Google’s promotion for Avengers: Endgame, which sees the release of five new Marvel character AR stickers for Playmoji – War Machine, Thor, Black Widow, Rocket and Captain Marvel. While it’s worth noting that Google’s messaging doesn’t explicitly mention that it will be its Pixel 3a and 3a XL devices launching on the May 7 date, it does state that it will be something in the “Pixel universe”, and the details seem to coincide with other leaks and tidbits we’ve recently learnt. PricingAs Google is attempting to introduce a more affordable option into its lineup with this pair of handsets, their pricing is a significantly important detail in their success. So far, we haven’t had any official word on what they’ll cost, but another leak seems to give them a ballpark. Discovered by Phandroid, a new leak shows off what seems to be the Pixel 3a and 3a XL (albeit, with their codenames Sargo and Bonito) and their cost in Canadian dollars – $649.99 and $799.99 respectively. This would translate to roughly $500 (£380, AU$700) for the regular Pixel 3a and $600 (£460, AU$840) for the larger Pixel 3a XL, although an earlier leak that listed the smaller mid-range Pixel in Euro would pitch it at $420 (£320, AU$590). Regardless, it’s looking like a safe bet to expect the Google Pixel 3a to launch on May 7 for around $450-500 with its larger Pixel 3a XL counterpart to sell for roughly $100 more. Stay tuned to TechRadar for more news, leaks and rumors as the mid-range Google handsets approach launch. Facebook introduced a dark mode feature to its Messenger app in 2018 but, at the time, it was only being tested by select users in a few countries. In March this year, that feature was opened up to all users, however it was technically still an Easter egg – it had to be sneakily activated by sending a message containing a crescent moon emoji. From today, though, you can say goodnight to the moon as Facebook has announced it’s rolling the feature out to all users. How to get itAnyone using the Messenger app will be able to darken their chats by heading to the settings pane (by tapping on the profile picture on the app) where a ‘dark mode’ toggle switch is available right up top. Not only is a dark theme good for your eyes, Google says it also helps conserve battery on Android devices, as it takes less power for the screen to display black. If you don’t see the toggle switch right away, try updating the app or waiting a day or two – the feature is rolling out to iOS and Android devices starting from today. While Verizon has had exclusive rights to carry Google Pixel phones in the US, that might change, and soon. T-Mobile may start selling the Google Pixel 3 and Google Pixel 3 XL, per a report released today. A source originally tipped off 9to5Google, but Android Police have independently confirmed the rumor. Per those outlets, T-Mobile will have those phones soon, though it’s unclear if they will be unlocked. If true, this could give the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL a broader life beyond Verizon customers or those who have bought it unlocked. We got our hands on the Samsung Galaxy Fold, the first mass-market foldableHow good is the Google Pixel 3 stacked against the top Android phones?Speaking of foldables, here's all we know about the phone-tablet hybrids coming this year Exclusive no more..? Neither publication’s source revealed whether the upcoming Pixel 3a might be coming to T-Mobile as well, though the other carrier is testing the 3a on its networks, per 9to5Google; in that case, users could bring unlocked versions over to work on T-Mobile. Nor did either site indicate whether T-Mobile would be getting the Pixel 4, though that phone isn’t expected until November, the same month previous iterations came out in prior years. Neither Verizon nor T-Mobile responded to requests for comment as of time of publishing; we’ll update the story if we hear back. The US government and Huawei have a shaky relationship right now, but that doesn't take away from the fact that Huawei's smartphones have become truly impressive. The Huawei P30 Pro's camera is particularly exciting, yet for US shoppers it's been hard to buy this Huawei phone or any flagship handset. The good news today is that B&H is offering pre-orders for all three phones in the Huawei P30 line: Huawei P30, Huawei P30 Pro, and Huawei P30 Lite. Prices for the unlocked phones range from $319 for the P30 Lite up to $899 for the P30 Pro. Considering Huawei's phones aren't always easy to buy in the US without going through often-unverified resellers, these are good prices to see and actually considerably lower than the UK and Australian costs converted to US dollars. At $599, the standard P30 could give the OnePlus 6T some serious competition. The P30 Lite positions itself as a mid-range phone with some toned down features and a lower-end chipset compared to the other versions, but it still has some premiums, like a 6.1-inch OLED display and dual wide-angle cameras on the rear paired with a 32MP selfie camera. The P30 and P30 Pro, meanwhile, are full flagship phones. The P30 Pro is a larger version of the P30, with slight upgrades to the camera, battery, display size, and internal storage, though the standard P30 offers a 3.5mm headphone jack that's missing on the Pro version. Both phones run on Huawei's top-end Kirin 980 chipset with an octacore chipset and 8GB of RAM. The P30 has 128GB of storage while the P30 Pro doubles that to 256GB. The P30 has a 6.1-inch OLED display while the P30 Pro has a 6.47-inch OLED display, though both have the same 1,080 x 2,340 resolution. The 32MP selfie camera on each phone is the same, but there are slight differences to the triple camera system on the rear. Both phones have a 40MP wide-angle camera and an 8MP telephoto camera, but the Pro offers 5X zoom versus the P30's 3X zoom. They each have ultra-wide cameras on the back as well, but the P30 Pro's is 20MP, topping the P30's 16MP sensor. All of the phones come in multiple colors and include a SIM card for Mint Mobile with 3 months of prepaid service and 8GB of monthly data. DC Universe has arrived – but what is it, and why should fans of DC comics, TV shows, and films be excited? We've seen a wave of streaming services based on individual channels or network families, from HBO Now to CBS All Access and even ESPN+, but soon we'll be seeing more content and company-centric offerings – Disney's long-teased streaming service that will arrive on November 12, 2019, packing exclusive Star Wars shows and more, is a prime example. DC has now officially launched its own subscription-based service for fans of the legendary comic book company, and this one has a twist: it's not only a streaming video service for movies and TV shows based on their comics, but also a comic-reading app along the lines of Marvel Unlimited or comiXology Unlimited. Here's what you need to know about it. [updated: DC Universe will be available on the Xbox One family of devices starting in April 2019. The service will roll out starting on April 15, around the same time as the premier of Justice League vs. The Fatal Five. Like other platforms, DC Universe on Xbox One will cost you $7.99 per month or $74.99 per year, and includes all 20,000 of the comics available on the service.] Compare DC Universe to the best TV streaming services of 2019http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/93s47GPjeaBSLX5AZpALdN.jpg What content will DC Universe have? DC Universe will debut five brand new, exclusive TV shows during its first year of existence, beginning with Titans. The first trailer was revealed at Comic-Con, and depicts an intensely dark and gritty adaptation, complete with rampant gore and a shot of Robin saying "F--- Batman" while laying into a gang of street thugs. Later in that first year, we'll see live-action shows Doom Patrol and Swamp Thing (not the 1990-93 version), as well as exclusive animated series Young Justice: Outsiders and Harley Quinn. The service will also house new HD versions of Batman: The Animated Series and the Wonder Woman TV series, along with animated movies like Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, Watchmen: Tales of the Black Freighter, and Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. Live-action films like Batman, Superman: The Movie, Batman Returns, and Batman Forever have also been spotted on the website and in the first trailer. Unfortunately, there's no sight of newer flicks like Wonder Woman and Justice League, let alone The Dark Knight Trilogy, while TV series like the current Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow seem to be MIA. Those ongoing series are all on Netflix, however. As far as comic books go, The Verge reports that DC Universe will include some 2,000-3,000 digital comics, with images suggesting a scattered mix of books old and new highlighting well-known characters. The site's report claims that you'll be able to zoom into a single panel on a 4K TV set to view the artwork with incredible clarity. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/3PbMAxN79GGfqyDateBYCS.png Where can I access DC Universe?DC Universe hopefuls can access the streaming service on a variety of different devices and media players. There's a simple online browser, for one – as well as corresponding apps to watch DC content on Roku streaming devices, Android TV, Apple TV, Android and iOS mobile devices, and now Amazon Fire TV devices too. You can also add Xbox One to that list starting in April 2019. You'll only be able to access the service in the US, though. There's no word on when DC Universe could roll out to other territories – it's only a few months old, to be fair – though with the live-action TV show Titans coming to Netflix UK, we hope DC are keeping an eye on the potential audiences they could find worldwide. How much does DC Universe cost? When DC Universe goes live this fall, the service will set you back $7.99 per month. If you choose to go big and commit to a full year, you'll save a solid chunk of change: the annual fee is $74.99, which saves you 20% over the month-to-month approach. Already sold on the service? If you pre-order an annual subscription now, they'll toss on three free months to sweeten the deal, plus you'll be entered into a contest to win two tickets to the Aquaman movie premiere later this year. And if you'd rather wait, DC Universe will offer a free 7-day trial once it's live. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/H2CvcwNsnfvcC7pT2LWcnS.png How does DC Universe differ from other streaming services? The hybrid nature makes it distinct from other services. There are plenty of streaming video services, of course, but Netflix and CBS All Access don't feature comic books. Likewise, there are all-you-can-read comic book services like Marvel Unlimited and comiXology Unlimited, but those apps don't have a lick of video on them. It always seemed surprising that DC didn't launch its own take on Marvel Unlimited and open up the vault for a monthly fee, but now we know why. That said, the comics selection in DC Universe is much, much smaller: its expected haul of 2,000-3,000 books is a fraction of Marvel Unlimited's 20,000+ comics. But you're getting half of one service and half of another, essentially. Netflix starts at $7.99 and Marvel Unlimited goes for $9.99 a month, whereas DC Universe sort of splits the difference. Ultimately, we suspect that DC Universe won't be viewed primarily as a streaming video app or a comics app. Instead, it's the quintessential, all-in DC experience app for serious fans, offering movies, TV shows, comics, conversation, info, and merch on demand. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/5f3f3t2qMeaYv74CuHxoEQ.png Should I subscribe to DC Universe? Do you absolutely love Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, and the rest of DC's top-tier heroes and villains? Do you follow the myriad DC TV series airing these days and still wish there was more to watch each week? Are you eager to loop back on old-school DC animated and live-action series? If you answered "yes" to any of those points, then you will most likely want to subscribe to DC Universe. Granted, we haven't used the app yet and we don't know how well it'll perform as a streaming service or comic-reading experience, but assuming the technical benchmarks are cleared and it delivers the amount of content that's been promised so far, then we have to imagine that DC fans are going to eat it up. Of course, the downside with such a focused service is the possibility of running out of compelling content at some point. Is DC prepared to to continue these original shows for multiple seasons? Will the company bring the more recent films to the service as well? And will the curated comics selection grow, or at least see frequent turnover? It's too early to know for sure, but with five potentially compelling shows anchoring the service and plenty of other past content alongside, DC Universe looks like the real deal for the DC faithful. Microsoft may have Surface-branded AirPods killers in the works
sincity posted a topic in Technology
A new report indicates that Microsoft is hard at work developing a pair of true wireless earbuds under the Surface lineup to rival the latest Apple AirPods. The true wireless earbuds are codenamed Morrisson (likely after The Doors’ famous frontman) and are tipped to include both noise-cancellation and Microsoft’s voice assistant, Cortana. We pit the AirPods 2019 vs Samsung Galaxy BudsLike wireless earbuds but not Apple? Don't miss our Samsung Galaxy Buds reviewOf course, our favorite buds right now are the RHA TrueConnectThe source of these new rumors is Thurrott’s Brad Sams who spoke to multiple people familiar with Microsoft’s plans who say the primary motivation is to expand the Surface lineup of headphones from the over-ear Surface Headphones to a new in-ear model that could, in all likelihood, be called the Surface Buds. Thurrott's sources weren't able to provide a release date for the headphones, but say that 2019 is definitely a possibility if the project isn't delayed. The AirPod adversaries keep on comingWhile Microsoft is the latest tech company in the spotlight for aping Apple's true wireless earbuds, others like Amazon and Libratone are also rumored to be working on a similar style of headphones. In its defense, however, the transition from the over-ear Surface Headphones to an in-ear model makes more sense for Microsoft than it does for Amazon – a company that really hasn't done much work in the headphone space despite its recent investment in smart speakers like the Amazon Echo. The counterpoint is that Microsoft's earlier audio hardware projects, like the Zune, have crashed and burned. So it may want to be careful before it dives headfirst back into the world of bitrates and Bluetooth codecs. Looking to cut the cord? It's been just over a year since Intel's 8th-generation Coffee Lake processors (CPU) got low-powered T-Series variants. Now, with the Coffee Lake Refresh in full swing, it makes sense to expect low-power versions. It appears that may be exactly what is coming, according to leaks compiled by Hexus. A series of leaks detailed the names, specs and thermal design power (TDP) levels of various T-Series processors. An important aspect for low-power builds is that TDP, which all of the new T-Series processors appear to share at a low 35W. This is identical to what the 8th-gen T-Series processors offered, allowing for smaller desktop builds with lower-wattage power supplies and less robust cooling. AMD vs Intel: which does processors better? The best cheap processor deals we've foundThe best motherboards for all sorts of PC makersLower power is lower powerThe trade-off that's made for a lower TDP is readily apparent when considering the other key specs. According to the leaks, the T-Series will have core counts and cache equal to the non-T-series CPUs, but will have largely reduced base and boost clock speeds. The leak shows the following CPUs with details on specs: Core i9-9900T, Core i7-9700T, Core i5-9600T, Core i5-9500T, Core i5-9400T, Core i3-9300T and Core i3-9100T. For a comparison between the standard variety and T-Series, we'll put the Core i9-9900T next to the Core i9-9900K. The Core i9-9900T is suggested to have a base clock of 2.1GHz and boost clock of 4.4GHz. That compares to the Core i9-9900K's 3.6GHz base clock and 5.0GHz boost clock. So, while the T-series in this case has a TDP of about 36% that of the K-Series, its base performance will be significantly lower. Still, these processors can be a strong pick for computer builders looking to create compact machines with power and cooling requirements closer to laptops than traditional desktops. All of the new T-Series processors are listed as coming with Intel UHD Graphics 630 included, so desktops built using these CPUs won't need dedicated graphics cards. Of course, computer builders looking for efficient CPUs may also consider waiting for Intel's long-anticipated 10nm CPUs, which could come in the form of Cannon Lake or Ice Lake this year. Update: we've gotten our hands on the Samsung Galaxy Fold and shared our thoughts about the first huge foldable phone of 2019 in our hands-on. Foldable phones will be the big new smartphone trend of 2019 (aside from 5G phones, of course, though some will be both). In fact, plenty have been announced - and we've gotten our hands on the first. These include the Samsung Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X, both of which you'll find information about below. But there are also rumored handsets, such as the Motorola Razr V4, so there’s plenty to get excited about and you can read about all of these foldable phones in one place here. So settle down, read on, and start saying goodbye to your old rigid handset, because the future is flexible. Samsung Galaxy Foldhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/yAv2qoHGsvwqrAQJnP72K9.jpg Image credit: Samsung The Samsung Galaxy Fold - which for a long time was rumored to be called the Samsung Galaxy X - has been announced and we've even gotten our hands on the device. Announced alongside the Samsung Galaxy S10 range, the Galaxy Fold has both a 4.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED screen on the front and a foldable 7.3-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED display on the inside, essentially letting you use the device as both a phone and a tablet. It supports three-app multi-tasking and allows you to seamlessly move from one screen to the other, with whatever content you were viewing switching between them as you open or close the larger display. It has a 4,380mAh battery, 12GB of RAM, 512GB of storage and a high-end Snapdragon 855 chipset. Cameras? The Galaxy Fold has six: a 16MP lens and a pair of 12MP lenses on the back, a 10MP camera on the front, and a dual-lens 10MP and 8MP pairing on the inside, visible when using the large foldable screen. You can't buy the Samsung Galaxy Fold yet, but it's landing on April 26 in the US and May 3 in Europe. However, it's not cheap, coming in at $1,980 / €2,000 (around £1,515 / AU$2,760). This could be the first of many foldable Samsung phones, as the company has also patented a number of others, including one that you wear. Everything you need to know about the Samsung Galaxy FoldHuawei Mate Xhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/obKpsi9BSq8WuWLbV4KSqn.jpg Image credit: TechRadar Announced hot on the heels of the Samsung Galaxy Fold, the Huawei Mate X is a slightly different take on foldable phones. The phone technically has one rather than two screens, but it can be folded down from an 8-inch screen to a pair of smaller ones, with a 6.6-inch screen on the front and a 6.4-inch one on the back. That means the displays are larger than the ones offered by the Galaxy Fold, and the small screens also have less bezel than Samsung's take. The Mate X also has a 4,500mAh battery with fast charging, a triple-lens camera, a high-end Kirin 980 chipset, 8GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, and it supports 5G. It looks set to be even more expensive than the Galaxy Fold though, coming in at €2,299 (around $2,600 / £2,000 / AU$4,770). As with Samsung, Huawei looks to be fully embracing the foldable future, as it has said that half of its flagship phones could be foldable in two years. Check out our hands-on Huawei Mate X reviewMotorola Razr V4http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/8Kb6SJ5LzZgegfCzy4jQZE.jpg Image credit: Motorola Motorola is rumored to be rebooting the Razr brand with the Motorola Razr V4, and rather than an old-fashioned clamshell design, it will apparently fold. Patents have shown how it might look, which is to say, basically like you’d expect a modern take on the Razr to, with a flexible screen rather than a hinge. The handset was rumored to be landing sometime in February, but that didn't happen. However, during a press briefing at MWC, Motorola's vice president and general manager Anthony Barounas, said: “If you go around the stores today, for me the phones all look the same. It’s difficult to see if it’s a Motorola, or [another brand]. How we differentiate to the consumer, show them something really different, that’s where foldables comes in. "And that’s where Motorola also has a very big investment. I can’t say much but we have one franchise that will have a very big impact there.” So that's close to a confirmation that something foldable is coming at some point. However, like most foldable phones it will probably be expensive, with a rumored starting price of roughly $1,500 (around £1,170, AU$2,010). While that's expensive it significantly undercuts some others, and we might know the reason for that, as according to one report it has a mid-range Snapdragon 710 chipset (along with 6GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of storage). What we want from the Moto Razr V4LGhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/mZYED5EGryPVWDKYszfRYX.jpg Image credit: TechRadar The latest news on a foldable LG phone comes from Kyle Yoon, senior product manager for LG Mobile, who, during a briefing, said: “When it comes to foldable, [the day will come] when we’ll all have a foldable device. That’s only if the Play Store has [apps in] a native resolution in those ratios, if the price of foldables will come down - we want to deliver a device more people can use that’s affordable and [offers] more content with 5G. We’re focused on that first but foldables… yes, we will have those devices.” Prior to that, we'd heard rumors that LG has a foldable phone in the works, and that’s on top of the company having mentioned "smartphones featuring different form factors" in a recent set of financial results, and having patented a foldable phone concept. The company has also made a foldable TV already, so it seemingly has the expertise. In short then, while nothing is yet confirmed it seems like the question of a foldable LG phone is 'when' not 'if'. Though the company doesn't seem in any hurry to launch one. In the meantime, it has announced the LG DualScreen, which is a device that can clip on to the LG V50 ThinQ to add a second 6.2-inch screen. This is far from a true foldable phone, but it's better than nothing. TCLhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/UN94SrJyWwjfqAAoTrRVEc.jpg Image Credit: TechRadar TCL might not be a name you'd expect to be among the first to launch a foldable phone and, well, you'd be right, because it's probably not going to sell a foldable handset under any of its brands (which include BlackBerry and Alcatel) until next year. But the company has shown off a foldable concept device at MWC. This has a 7.2-inch 2048 x 1536 AMOLED display and four rear cameras, but we're not convinced the final foldable will have those specs, as one of the key features appears to be a relatively affordable price. The company didn't get into specifics, but for it to substantially undercut the likes of the Galaxy Fold and Mate X, we'd expect worse specs than that. Applehttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/TrTL3SdxPESwaZyp7uJxEH.jpg Image credit: TechRadar While not likely to arrive as imminently as some on this list, Apple could well have a foldable phone of its own in the works. Rumors of one first emerged in late 2017, with the claim that it would launch in 2020. We’ve also seen Apple patents for a folding screen more than once, so Apple is clearly at least exploring the idea. If folding phones prove practical then we’d expect Apple will get involved eventually, but the company usually waits for tech to be polished rather than aiming to be first, so we might not see one for a while. Next up from Apple will be the iPhone 11Sonyhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/474jxuMTxJeKAXDCta8CGQ.jpg Image credit: TechRadar As with Apple, Sony also looks to be working on – or at least toying with – a foldable phone. Evidence for this comes from a Sony patent, detailing both foldable and rollable smartphones. Of course, patents don’t always become products, but with much of the rest of the industry looking in this direction it would be no surprise if Sony is too. However, we wouldn't expect one imminently, as the company has just announced a bunch of new phones at MWC 2019 and a folding handset wasn't among them. Instead, it seems focused on 21:9 screens, as seen on the likes of the Sony Xperia 1. Royole FlexPaihttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/WHy7LsZsqa4pukrK5sgskG.jpg Image credit: TechRadar The first foldable phone to be announced was actually the Royole FlexPai. Currently you can only buy it in China (unless you’re happy with a developer version), and it’s not cheap at $1,300 (around £1,000 / AU$1,825). You might want to hold off on that import too, as in our hands-on review we found that it was both very slow and had a very slow camera. In short, it seems like little more than a proof-of-concept. Xiaomihttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/mvxDYyt2AQXk68d3fwLf6k.jpg Image credit: Xiaomi A Xiaomi folding phone has been teased in several brief videos. They show a device with two folding hinges, rather than a single central fold. Don't get too excited just yet though, as this is little more than a concept device for now. As while Lin Bin, the co-founder of Xiaomi, has posted on social media that the "Xiaomi double folding mobile phone is coming," he also said "if you like it, we will consider making a mass production machine in the future." Xiaomi was at MWC 2019, showing off devices such as the Xiaomi Mi 9, but its folding phone was nowhere to be seen. Googlehttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/sKgD8rL7P93jQVpvzrNzwa.jpg Image credit: TechRadar Google could also be getting into the foldable game, as the company has patented several foldable designs. These are likely a long way off being finished products, but show for example a screen that would fold down on itself when not in use, and a phone with three folds, which allows the screens to stack on top of each other when folded. Oppohttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/qJK48cUAH2bKUyFKafbQG5.jpg Image credit: Brian Shen Oppo has shown off a foldable concept device that looks a lot like the Huawei Mate X, as you can see in the image above. However, we don't know anything about the specs yet and you probably won't be able to buy this any time soon if at all, as the company has said it will wait and see whether consumers take to foldable phones before mass producing one. ZTE Nubia Alphahttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/VDvJ8pkgQ6X8cTKLAc4fzS.jpg Image credit: TechRadar ZTE isn’t being left out of the folding action either, as the firm has announced the Nubia Alpha, a phone with a 4-inch foldable screen that you can wrap around your wrist. The phone lands in China on April 8 and is set to cost €449 (about $510, £390, AU$710). A release in other parts of the world is expected on or soon after that date. Additionally, ZTE has patented another foldable device, this time with a more conventional clamshell design, so if you don't want to wear your phone then ZTE may have a more suitable option for you sooner or later. Read our hands-on Nubia Alpha reviewEnergizer Power Max 8100Shttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/Nds36KBKdhrxaGcC9WVwB6.jpg Image Credit: TechRadar Energizer is not a company we'd have expected to be among the first to launch a foldable phone, but it is, at least in prototype form. Shown off behind glass at MWC 2019, the Energizer Power Max 8100S has a smartphone-sized screen when folded and a tablet-sized one when unfolded. Folds aside, the highlight of this phone is likely its 10,000mAh battery, but it also has a 48MP main camera, a 12MP secondary lens and a 24MP selfie camera, plus a Snapdragon 855 chipset and 8GB of RAM. However, it's not currently clear if or when you'll be able to buy it. Vivo iQOOVivo has launched its own sub-brand, iQOO, in order to hit the foldable phone market. It's early days for the device, with the only hint of its existence being several renders leaked online, but that's a lot more than some other foldables. One edge the iQOO foldable phone has, if the leak is to believed, is that it will launch at around CNY7,000, or roughly $1,000, £800, AU$1,450. If this is correct - which is a big if, of course - it will be a lot cheaper than the prices of most other similar devices. There are lots of 5G phones coming soon toohttp://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/digital-home/~4/W5714e5LbkM

Each year, Computex is the place to go for all the year’s biggest computing announcements. From svelte Ultrabooks to all the juiciest PC components, Computex 2019 is going to be a must-watch for any computing enthusiast out there. However, because it’s such a daunting event, it can be hard to know what to look out for. Luckily, we here at TechRadar have applied our tech and computing expertise to try and forecast what the biggest computing manufacturers will have to offer at Computex 2019. So, sit back, relax and we’ll dive into some educated speculation, informed by the latest industry rumors. Cut to the chaseWhat is it? The biggest computing event of the yearWhen is it? May 28 – June 1 2019http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/Hw264Ek6FcDb9zs4ZoyqYB.jpg AMDAt CES 2019, AMD announced its 7-nanometer (nm) Zen 2 architecture, which will be behind its Ryzen 3rd Generation, Threadripper 3rd Generation and even its upcoming Epyc processors for servers. AMD didn’t announce any specific processors at that event, however, instead showing off an 8-core, 16-thread processor. However, rumors suggest we may get as many as 16 cores and 32 threads in a new Ryzen processor – we expect that beefy piece of silicon to make an appearance at Computex 2019 (assuming it’s real.) But, AMD doesn’t just make processors. There has also been speculation that AMD Navi 10 graphics will show up at Computex 2019. This is a little less certain, as AMD’s next graphics cards have seen all kinds of rumors that point to an October release. We could see AMD show Navi off – it will be 7nm, too – but wait to release it until a later date. This would be similar to what Team Red did with AMD Vega at CES 2017, as well as Zen 2 earlier this year. No matter how you slice it, Computex 2019 is going to be big for AMD. The underdog chip maker has risen to the top of the processor world, more than doubling Intel’s sales, so we expect a celebratory Computex. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/p22hfTKypwswdGBLDKqLvT.jpg AsusAsus is hands-down one of the biggest computing companies in the world. From gaming laptops to Ultrabooks; from motherboards to the best graphics cards, Asus does it all. However, Asus has been relatively quiet for the last couple months, after announcing a slew of Ultrabooks and gaming laptops at CES 2019. We expect Asus to deliver the goods. Last year, Asus announced its ZenBook Pro 15, a unique mobile workstation with a touchscreen built into its touchpad – something that’s been present in many of its subsequent products. We always expect Asus to deliver something unique, and we have no reason to expect anything different this time around. We might even get some hands-on time with the Asus ROG Mothership. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/KmbDkPC2AjcgBmTfeHDgvg.jpg Gigabyte and AorusGigabyte’s Aorus brand is behind some of the best gaming laptops and components on the market. So, at Computex 2019 we could see anything from new motherboards to new gaming laptops. For example, Gigabyte refreshed its Sabre gaming laptops with Intel Optane drives – the first gaming laptops to do so. All we know is that Gigabyte will be there. Beyond that, your guess is as good as ours. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/JPQvuPKZNc6nXNDtubNbdc.jpg IntelEver since AMD Ryzen first hit the market, Intel has been in a rough spot. It is still manufacturing some of the fastest processors in the world, like the Core i9-9900K, but the value just isn’t there. That’s why we think Intel is going to come out of the gate swinging at Computex 2019. Last year, Intel made a huge show out of a 28-core, 56-thread monster of a processor, clocked at 5GHz. We learned later that it was both a $2,999 Xeon chip, and it was overclocked. But, that’s still impressive. We don’t think something like that will be enough this time, though. Intel has been making a lot of headlines over the last few years for pushing back its 10nm silicon. Cannon Lake was supposed to come out five years ago, after Skylake. Intel has announced both Sunny Cove and Ice Lake at CES 2019, so we expect these 10nm processors to take center stage. These 10nm processors need to take center stage. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/FpUjT4m8HoLxZeyoEawmY4.jpg MSIAt CES 2019, MSI launched some juicy gaming laptops, including the new GS75 Stealth. We expect MSI to continue this trend at Computex 2019. Last year, it revealed the MSI GF63, a budget-minded gaming laptop. But, there were plenty of high-end products, like the MSI Trident A and the insane MSI Pro 24X all-in-one. We’re not sure what MSI is planning, but PC gamers should pay attention, MSI consistently brings the most flamboyant PC hardware on the market. Computex 2019 will be no different. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/rJpiAdTVQuW7r4sW3vaU5j.jpg NvidiaWe know Nvidia is going to be at Computex 2019, but we’re not sure what the focus is going to be. Team Green has been pumping out Turing graphics cards at a rapid pace since September 2018. With so many new consumer graphics cards at every price point, we think Nvidia’s Computex 2019 presence will focus on the professionals this time. We’ve seen some rumors for a while that Nvidia might reveal 7nm Ampere graphics cards. These graphics cards could be consumer models, but that would be a little too quick, considering Nvidia’s problems with sales earlier this year. Instead, Nvidia Ampere may end up being the follow-up to Nvidia Volta, powering the next line of workstation-class GPUs. Or, Nvidia could spend Computex 2019 focusing on artificial intelligence (AI), like it did at GTC 2019. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/kExEad3yNfdKVXRBuEsmfc.jpg What else?Computex 2019 is still weeks away at this point, and we’re sure we’ll see more manufacturers show up. Microsoft, HP, Dell and Samsung aren’t on the list of exhibitors at the time of writing, and all of these manufacturers are Computex mainstays. We’re sure all of these companies will be there to show off some new hardware and software. That’s not to mention all of the smaller manufacturers that will be there. Lian Li will surely be delivering some beautiful PC cases, G.Skill will probably show off some new RGB memory sticks and BenQ will show off some new monitors for professionals and gamers. There are more than 100 exhibitors this year, so get ready for a smorgasbord of new hardware. Be sure to keep this page bookmarked until the conference begins, as we’ll update it with any new rumors and exhibitors. Not to mention all the news from the show floor. In effort to better serve the UK's growing number of entrepreneurs and small businesses, Three UK has announced the launch of its new mobile offering Three Means Business. The telecom has partnered with WeWork, Wix, Moo and FreshBooks to bring the cheapest mobile contracts in the market to SMBs alongside discounts and free subscriptions to useful services. Businesses of any size from freelancers to established small businesses can take advantage of Three Means Business which provides them with the cheapest business tariff in the market. Wix launches new software platform for entrepreneurs and SMBs1 in 10 UK businesses are at risk from cyber threatsMobile phones are too fragile for European businessesThree is also the first mobile operator to offer unlimited data bundles for businesses to address the growing reliance on mobile in day-to-day business operations. In a recent survey of small business owners by the telecom, more than three quarters (78%) admitted that being online was all they needed to run their business. Three Means BusinessesIn addition to low costs and unlimited data, Three also brought a number of partners on board who will provide special offers for Three Means Business customers. Wix will provide a free six month subscription to its 'unlimited' website and logo creator package, FreshBooks will give customers a free six month subscription to its accountancy package, WeWork will provide a free six month digital membership and two credits a month for workspace and finally Moo will give Three Means Business customers 25 percent off all products including business cards and other branded stationary. Businesses that sign up for the new offering can also enjoy all the same perks Three's customers receive including free roaming in over 70 destinations, free upgrades with easyJet as well as unlimited use of apps including Netflix, Snapchat, Soundcloud and Apple Music with its Go Binge offer. Three UK's CEO Dave Dyson explained why the network decided to launch a new offering for entrepreneurs and small businesses, saying: “The existing mobile offering to businesses in the UK doesn’t address the new reality of work. There’s a growing number of budding entrepreneurs and start-ups whose needs have so far not been met by mobile networks. Businesses’ growing reliance on mobile phones as part of their daily running is particularly overlooked, reflected by limited data allowances and tariff options being offered at a mark-up in comparison to their consumer counterparts. “We’re introducing Three Means Business to give small businesses an affordable mobile offering, but also to give them a leg up with a range of partner offers. We want to help entrepreneurs by covering the admin, so that they can focus on their passions and reasons why they decided to set up their business.” Also check out the best SIM deals for businesshttp://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/digital-home/~4/ltHOJxXCYdQ

We’ll be getting some official details about an upcoming OnePlus device – likely the OnePlus 7 – on Wednesday, April 15, according to a tweet straight from the company’s founder and CEO Pete Lau. It’s entirely possible Lau wasn’t referring to the OnePlus 7 (which hasn’t even been officially named), as he only mentions “the new device” in his tweet. He could be referring to the company’s upcoming 5G phone, which may or may not be a 5G version of the OnePlus 7. But given that the company traditionally releases its newly-numbered phones in May or June – a leak this morning claimed that the OnePlus 7 will launch on May 14 – it’s likely Lau will share details about that phone in a full post. We got our hands on the Samsung Galaxy FoldThe OnePlus 7 will almost certainly end up on our list of the best smartphonesOnePlus' phone may compete with the Honor 20, officially coming May 21 Plenty of devices Plenty of rumors and leaks have come out for the OnePlus 7, including a possible OnePlus 7 Pro arriving alongside a standard version of the phone. Presumably, it will follow convention and have a larger screen and/or higher specs and have a higher starting price than the standard version. There’s also the 5G phone, which rumors suggest may be a OnePlus 7 Pro 5G. All of this has yet to be officially confirmed - all we’ve heard (from Lau himself, no less) is that the 5G device OnePlus is cooking up will cost $200 to $300 more than the 4G version. Sit tight for the first company-approved details to come later this week. The OnePlus 7 will almost certainly make our list of best Android phones in 2019http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/digital-home/~4/0wexUMUiWUE

PDFs are designed for easy access on any device running any operating system, but sometimes JPGs are more convenient. You might want to make some small changes without investing in a costly premium PDF editor, for example, or embed it within the body of a web page or email. A free PDF to JPG converter will make that task effortless – you just need to choose the right one. There are online tools for the job, but they can only convert one document at a time, and can often only handle a single page. They're slow too, and you have to entrust your documents to a third party. The ideal PDF to JPG converter should tackle as many documents as you like at once, and process them as quickly as your PC's hardware will allow. We've put the best free conversion tools to the test so you know which one will get the job done as quickly and easily as possible. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/XpjytZKadYHuY5Kqsnopd7.jpg http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/Qb6jpxjVXwtg5k2nv886sG.jpg 1. DocuFreezerIf you need to convert files to image formats - or PDF - DocuFreezer has you covered. Here, we are concerned with its PDF to JPG conversion capabilities, but it can also convert other file types, and you can choose from other output formats including PNG, TIFF and XPS. One of the great things about DocuFreezer is that you can convert singles files, or you can work with a number of files at once - either by adding them one by one to a list, or by adding entire folders to the work queue. Conversion is pretty fast, and there are hardly any options to worry about. After selecting your output format and where you would like to save the file, you can choose between colour or black and white output, set the quality, and configure resolution. Just enough options to get done what you need quite efficiently. Download DocuFreezerhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/XpjytZKadYHuY5Kqsnopd7.jpg http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/wCMGFVy2Kj5bqPWbTtTnWa.jpg 2. Free PDF to JPG converterStarting off with its name, Free PDF to JPG Converter keeps everything as simple as it needs to be; it just gets the job done with as little fuss as possible. There are virtual no options to think about in the program, and while that may seem like a bad thing, if you're just looking for quick, frill-free conversion, it's perfect. You can convert individual files, multiple files from different locations, or files stored in a single folder. There is no support for files other than PDFs, and there are no output formats other than JPEG - the name really does tell you everything you need to know. Conversion is pleasingly swift and the only real downside to the program is the ad panel that is on constant display, but you'll quickly learn to ignore it. Converted files are high quality, so you couldn't really ask for more. Download Free PDF to JPG Converterhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/XpjytZKadYHuY5Kqsnopd7.jpg http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/3UdxtF4PBt2PpX3qFnP2rg.jpg 3. PDFMate Free PDF ConverterLike other tools we've included here, PDFMate Free PDF Converter can be used to convert a single file, or several at once. It's worth pointing out right from the start that conversion can be a little on the slow side, but it's not so marked as to be a real issue - it's just worth bearing in mind. As an added bonus, the program can convert PDFs to a number of formats, including DOC, EPUB, HTML and TXT - it can also convert files into PDFs - but for the moment it is conversion to JPEG that we're interested in. As with other similar program, you can convert files individually, or en masse, and things are kept simple thanks to the limited number of settings you have to consider. Really, the only options are to choose between normal or high-quality images, and whether each page should be saved as a separate image. It's simple, but it gets the job done. Download PDFMate Free PDF Converterhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/XpjytZKadYHuY5Kqsnopd7.jpg http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/8shHQ9cD7iC2f2xtcnzuTn.jpg 4. PDF to JPEGOne for fan of Microsoft Store apps, PDF to JPEG is available for Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. The app is free, but it is ad-supported, so this may sway your decision about whether to use it or not. Like so many Store apps, PDF to JPG has a single function and it approaches it with a minimum of fuss. There are literally no options to configure - unless you count selecting which folder you would like to save images to, that is! Simply load your PDF into the app (you can also select an entire folder full of PDFs if you want) and hit the 'Convert' button. It's as simple as that. The only thing to be aware of is that the 'Convert' button will not become available until you select a target folder - this is something that catches a few people out, as you'll see if you scan through Store reviews. Download PDF to JPEGhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/XpjytZKadYHuY5Kqsnopd7.jpg http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/FJucU7KT2kqZs4teUn4d25.jpg 5. Boxoft PDF To JPG Converter Despite the name, Boxoft PDF To JPG Converter can also convert your PDFs into BMP, PNG and TIFF formats, but the options are the same for each. If you only want to convert a few pages of a PDF, this is an option that is available to you, and you can choose an automatic naming system to give your files a consistent look. The focus of the program is really on batch conversion of files, but there's nothing to stop you from using to convert single files - it's pleasing quick in either case. There are a couple of very nice extras available in this software. You can use Hot Directories mode to monitor a folder for new PDFs and have them automatically converted to JPEG as soon as they are detected. There's also a command line option if you would like to create batch files to automate tasks with other tools. Smart home tech and artificial intelligence headlined LG’s annual innovation event, InnoFest, this year. Held in South Korea’s wired-up capital, Seoul, LG showed off its vision for the home of the future through crafted living spaces at its LG Science Park flaunting the company’s latest AI powered home appliances and TVs. The theme was clear. LG wants to make your life simpler by making all the various devices in your home do most of the thinking for you. They achieve this by integrating ThinQ, LG’s deep learning platform, across their range of home appliances including refrigerators, washing machines, cooling solutions and even robot vacuums. What makes the ThinQ branded devices different is their ability to talk to one another and make proactive recommendations based on user data. The ThingQ AI-enabled appliances come with Google Assistant and Alexa support to allow voice control and aid communication with other devices. But LG’s deep learning platform takes things a step further by understanding user habits through usage patterns and make anticipatory suggestions such as smart recipe recommendations based on ingredients present in your fridge, preventative device care instructions or automatically turning on your air purifier on a dusty day. Jame Lee, LG’s President for the MEA region, is determined to reposition LG as a premium electronics brand in the region and reaffirm LG’s status as “technology trailblazers” by continuing to evolve their product lines and offer innovative solutions that make their customer’s lives simpler. Sure, LG’s vision for the modern connected smart home is bold, so is their effort to make AI accessible to a wider audience. These new devices tout sleeker designs and have new tricks up their sleeves but don’t expect them to come cheap. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/SFtWN3QKZpXB7bMfCHgDmW.jpg The best TVs on the market just got smarterLG’s OLED TVs are a sight to behold and have deservingly picked up a number of accolades including our own Best in Class pick. This year’s lineup is looking equally impressive with updated chips and AI smarts to spruce things up. These TVs will also be the first in the region to have full support for Arabic language. Leading the lineup is LG’s flagship OLED TV series (W9, E9, C9, B9) powered by the latest Alpha 9 Gen 2 processor which delivers the same boost in performance and color accuracy as the Alpha 9 chip except this gen upgrade brings on board a more intelligent AI and deep learning algorithms to enhance picture and audio quality. There’s also support for Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision to sweeten the deal. Aside from the high end OLED TVs, LG will also continue to offer their Super UHD TV series now rebranded as NanoCell TVs. They come in varying sizes from 49 to 77-inches and offer almost everything the OLED TVs do except for the OLED panel and sport the Alpha 7 Gen 2 processors. The top end of these TVs will offer Full Array Dimming Pro for uniform black levels and support for Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. All TVs boast AI Smarts that will allow you to not only control the TV but other connected home appliances by simply talking to your TV remote. The TV can also make smart suggestions based on your viewing habits. The pinnacle of the LG TVs shown at InnoFest was their futuristic LG Signature OLED TV R. An absurdly thin rollable display panel that unfurls from a streamlined box that’s also a sound bar. The panel itself is 65-inches in size and touts 4K ultra HD and HDR capabilities. Users can choose to roll out the entire display panel or have just the top peeking out of the attractive unit and use it as a dashboard to display and control a myriad of smart home devices. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/DvuyddSrPK3CUgfsFAyE5A.jpg Save time on cookingLG also flaunted their “evolved” ThinQ AI enabled home appliances, which are now even more smarter, convenient and energy efficient. Starting with the kitchen, consumers have LG’s streamlined and attractive series of refrigerators to look forward to that now come with InstaView - a mirrored panel that allows you to peek inside the front compartment with just a couple of knocks on the door which prevents unnecessary loss of cold air. With AI on board, the fridge can snap a picture of what’s inside and come up with a nifty list of recipes or remind you when you need to top up on a particular ingredient. If you have one of LG’s new ThinQ ovens (available in glass and convection configurations) your fridge can send the recipe to your oven and it will set up timers and cooking settings accordingly. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/TZP8km4b6YdFG4jGj6rnFH.jpg ThinQ about laundry and cleaningLG is also gunning to make your laundry days less dreary and managing your wardrobe a little less tedious. With their new TWINWash series of washing machines you can do two loads of laundry concurrently in almost half the time. There’s also a plethora of new tech in these machines that use additional nozzles to create efficient jet streams all around the tub. They are able to get to the grittiest stains without affecting the integrity of fabrics. Also on display was LG’s smart steam closet unit also known as a styler. The basic idea is to hang your daily wear clothes inside this smart wardrobe and it uses steam and a vigorous back and forth motion to keep your clothes fresh and wrinkle-free. The cooling solutions on offer continued LG’s theme of simplification and convenience. The air conditioners come in as wall mounts on vertical stands and are overall better at conserving energy. You can also rely on them to purify air to a certain extent and also control them via the ThinQ platform. There were also mini portable air purifiers on display that are battery powered and will give you clean air on the move. Rounding things out was LG’s vacuum lineup which consisted of their cordless vacuums boasting 80 minute charge cycles thanks to double battery packs and a circular disc like robot vacuum with sophisticated sensors than can also be controlled through ThinQ. In theory the idea of LG ThinQ sounds appealing and even useful under certain circumstances but it requires a lot of things to go right for it to work seamlessly and it seems more wishful thinking than functional for now. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/s7KbsLXq84LwES9X2aXCyf.jpg Premium home appliances for the “sensible rich”Also on display at LG’s Science Park were the company’s premium LG Signature & LG Objet range of devices targeted towards what LG calls the “sensible rich”. These top of the range appliances tout minimalist aesthetics designed to blend in modern living spaces and are brimmed with tech. Take the LG Signature refrigerators for instance that sport a giant minimal bezel screen that allow you to peek inside with a couple of taps without having to open the compartment and losing precious cold air. It also opens the door automatically once it senses you’re near and comes with modular wine cellar and bottom-freezer configurations. There’s also a twin-wash washer and dryer as well as a sleek looking air purifier in LG Signature lineup that can detect and catch the tiniest specks of dust to ensure clean air circulation. But the main attraction of the LG Signature series is the rollable OLED TV R that unfurls from a box that also doubles as a sound bar (more details above). If you’re really looking for appliances with unique design that seamlessly blend with your furniture then LG’s Objet series might just be for you. This series of devices mask appliances in wood and metal and can look like any other piece of furniture in your living space. We saw a sleek looking sliding TV embedded in a slim entertainment center, an audio system and a fridge unit that can pass off as a nightstands or end tables. Two recent high-profile security incidents have made headlines across the United States and APAC regions. One was the arrest of United States Coast Guard Lt. Christopher Hasson. The other was the arrest of Yi Zheng, a Chinese national working as a contractor for Australian financial services firm AMP. Hasson was charged with several crimes and accused of being a white supremist in the middle of planning a terror plot. Zheng was arrested and pleaded guilty to attempting to steal and sell confidential AMP customer data on the dark web. Security and risk professionals should be extremely interested in these arrests. They show that when organizations have visibility over endpoint behavioral data and the ability to collect and analyze it, that malicious insider threats can be detected long before they have a chance to inflict significant damage. How to detect and defend against insider threatsEmail security is greater threat than everEnterprises must take insider threats more seriouslyEvidence and behaviorsThere was a litany of evidence gathered and behaviors observed on the two men’s endpoints that led prosecutors, AMP and the USCG to conclude that both suspects had drifted across legal boundaries. In the case of Hasson, prosecutors presented proof showing that he had extremist views, fantasized about mass murder, was possibly targeting prominent government and media personalities for a terror strike, and making illegal drug purchases. In the case of Zheng, AMP’s security team showed that he had stolen customer data, was surfing the dark web for illicit markets in an attempt to sell the information, and that he was planning an escape to China. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/exjZtnyH8bykMKrG4TDthC.jpg Image Credit: Shutterstock The endpointWithout the ability to observe both men’s actions via their computers, it could be argued that it would have been much more difficult to understand what they were planning and engaged in, maybe even impossible to do so. With technologies deployed that gathered information on endpoints, AMP, the USCG and prosecutors were able to paint a clear picture of what was going on and to stop and prosecute both actors before any real trouble arose. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/2z4M4i9jcRP5kYP3FRc3Jf.jpeg Image Credit: Shutterstock The alertWe don’t know specifically what technologies were responsible for tipping off the USCG that Hasson had become a threat. Nor do we know if human informants were a factor. Based on the court records, it is reasonable to conclude that some kind of technology used to monitor his endpoint contributed to the “alert” that prompted authorities to act. In the case of Zheng, we are closer to the facts. With the Dtex platform and other security layers engaged, several of his activities were monitored and recorded. This included his use of a TOR browser and other data collected about his activities and intentions. The analysisIn both cases. It is clear that humans played a distinct role in analyzing the data. We can also presume that the data parsed through was relatively simple to navigate and understand. How else would each organization have been able to detect and neutralize these insider threats before they were able to cause severe harm? http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/cq549vNncukg9YTBwPtCGa.jpg Image Credit: Shutterstock More data? Many organizations may already be convinced that endpoint behavioral monitoring is needed. They may also be hesitant to add it to their arsenals out of fear than an additional data stream will add to their workloads. Having to deconstruct additional logs can be burdensome but there are technologies available today that collect only minimal and specific types of data needed to understand when humans are behaving badly. Many of these solutions also scale rapidly and integrate easily into existing security infrastructures, as was the case at AMP. Don’t wait Regardless of whether or not you are a security and risk professional working in the public or private sector, both incidents are clear justification for the need to have technologies deployed which can detect when insider threat activities are taking place and provide viable legal evidence needed to prove when such actions have occurred. Organizations that have monitoring and analysis capabilities will succeed in defending against malicious human behaviors. Those that overlook this vital element of security will be hard pressed to identify and deter such situations. Imagine what might have happened had the USCG and AMP not had technologies deployed that detected what Hasson and Zheng were doing on their endpoints. In the wake of the Christchurch attack, Facebook has been under pressure from governments around the globe to do something about how it handles live broadcasts on its platform. One of the biggest proponents asking for restrictions on live streams is the Australian government. Following the attack, a new Australian law has been passed that makes the failure to take down “abhorrent violent material” a criminal offense. Facebook is scheduled to meet with a taskforce from the Australian government later this month to discuss the issue, but a report this morning by the Sydney Morning Herald suggests the social media company is already preparing to crack down on live streams on its platform. New restrictions are reportedly set to go live later this month, and will officially be announced after the company meets with the Australian government representatives. In the meantime, though, sources have told the Sydney Morning Herald that any user who has violated Facebook’s rules, like spreading hate speech, will be entirely blocked from launching live streams. Facebook pulls back the curtain on its newsfeed algorithmDelivering on commitments? The company’s chief operating officer, Sheryl Sandberg, had previously promised that the social media platform will be taking further steps to address the issue of hate speech. While she was unclear as to what those ‘steps’ would entail, a new Facebook policy now specifically bans white nationalist and white separatist content alongside white supremacist posts. Full details on the upcoming restrictions to Facebook live streaming are as yet unknown, but the meeting between the company the Australian government takes place on April 24, so more will almost certainly come to light after that date. Google, however, has already put policies in place to limit live broadcasts on YouTube. For example, users with less than 1,000 subscribers can no longer livestream when using a mobile device, and only channels with no restrictions in the past 90 days will be able to broadcast video live. It's been quite a weekend for Star Wars trailers – perhaps something to do with the Star Wars Celebration event that's just been held in Chicago. Our latest 'first look' comes for the long-awaited Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order game. Although the trailer doesn't feature any actual gameplay, it does flesh out the story a little: a single-player, third-person perspective story, free from microtransactions and with no multiplayer component. We now know the main character is called Cal, as previously rumored – Cal Kestis. He's a Padawan in hiding, with a strict creed: don't reach within, don't stand out, accept the past, trust no one, and trust only in the Force. See the Star Wars Episode IX trailerPrevious rumors around Fallen OrderEA is planning to be at E3 2019If these two-and-a-half minutes are anything to go by, consider us interested in what EA and Respawn Entertainment have been putting together. The trailer shows us Cal Kestis trying to keep his head down and stay out of trouble – something he's obviously not going to manage through the course of the game. Cal is a new character for the Star Wars universe, and the action opens on a new planet – Bracca. Other planets will be explored during the course of the game, as Cal flees from an elite group of Inquisitors working for the Empire. Combat will be based around lightsaber melees, Respawn has revealed, and our hero Cal will be accompanied by a friend called Cere and a droid called BD-1. The game is set after the events of Revenge of the Sith – a dangerous time for the Jedi – and with a release date scheduled for sometime in the fall of this year, you can expect to hear lots more about it in the coming months. The Black Shark 2 launched in the UK on April 9. It boasts a powerful 8GB RAM, a cutting-edge chipset and huge battery potential (it’s designed specially to be a great gaming phone), but 2019 seems a turbulent time to launch a handset for this market, given that cloud gaming is around the corner. When you use cloud gaming to play a mobile game, all the computing and processing is done by the cloud, and all your phone needs is a fast internet connection. This effectively makes powerful internals, like the Black Shark 2’s, redundant. With the recent release of 5G networks around the world, a quick internet connection is becoming more and more accessible, so cloud gaming can only get bigger. Is the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus the best phone ever? The iPhone XS Max is one of the most powerful phones we've ever usedOne of our favorite gaming phones is the Samsung Galaxy Note 9To understand how Black Shark would survive this dramatic change, we spoke to VP of Black Shark Global, David Li, at the Black Shark 2 launch – but his answer wasn’t what we expected. Clouds on the horizonThe natural answer to ‘how do you keep a gaming phone competitive against cloud gaming’ would be to focus on features that cloud gaming can’t touch. Great-looking displays, comfortable-to-grip designs and booming audio are features that could make a device great to play on. But according to Li, Black Shark doesn’t plan to try to compete with cloud gaming – it’s going to embrace it. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/RqXufUaoLir5V7vASQt8HK.jpg The Black Shark 2 (Image credit: TechRadar) Li told us one of the most important features of future Black Shark phones is improved network connection, so that you can connect to data and Wi-Fi, and download games or play online at the quickest speeds possible. We saw a demonstration of the Black Shark 2’s X+2 Antenna array, which has antennas in six locations about the device so that you’ll have a quick connection wherever your hands are on the phone. It's possible that future Black Shark phones could have even more. When we asked about other ways Black Shark would stay ahead of the curve, Li told us that touchscreen latency was also an important feature, so that the phone was as responsive as possible for gaming. According to the company's tests, the Black Shark 2 is roughly 25% more responsive than the Samsung Galaxy S10, and by keeping latency competitive, future Black Shark devices could still be better for gameplay. Looking into the futureWe also asked Li about Black Shark’s plans in the future, and how different trends could bring new hardware changes. He explained that Black Shark was indeed looking into 5G, and that we can expect a Black Shark 5G before the inevitable Black Shark 3 – and since there was only a six month gap between the Black Shark 2 release and the original Black Shark, that means we could see the 5G gaming phone before the end of the year. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/qpPbngczdAd8zrUEUHXh6A.jpg Gaming in the Black Shark 2's dedicated mode (Image credit: TechRadar) Li wasn’t as optimistic on foldables. He told us the tech wasn’t mature enough yet, so Black Shark will only look into it if it provides a better gaming experience for users. We also briefly spoke to him about the future of mobile gaming itself. Demos we saw of the Black Shark 2 focused on PUBG Mobile, which runs on basically any device with a screen, and Li admitted that most high-end mobile games so far are ports of popular PC or console games, like PUBG Mobile, Fortnite, and XCOM: Enemy Within. However, that might change. As well as looking at the present of mobile gaming, Black Shark is apparently working with big developers like Tencent (of PUBG fame) to make sure its mobiles will be great at playing their future releases too, so soon your handset could play high-end games that are unavailable on other platforms. These are our picks of the best phones for gaminghttp://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/digital-home/~4/OJKdPF-c3mo

The music streaming wars aren't offer yet, with Amazon reportedly in talks with the big labels about offering an free, ad-supported service to take on Spotify – and it might be launching as early as next week. That's according to sources speaking to Billboard. Apparently the new service will offer a limited selection of songs but wouldn't cost users anything – a bit like the free tier that Spotify offers. The new service sounds a lot like Amazon Prime Music, the music selection you get as part of a Prime subscription – only in this case you'd have to listen to ads instead of signing up for Amazon Prime. Get ready for Amazon Prime Day 2019Who is listening in to your Alexa chats?Apple could be breaking up iTunesAmazon Prime Music offers access to around 2 million tracks, and there's also an Amazon Music Unlimited service, a more direct Spotify competitor – it has tens of millions of songs in its catalog and costs an additional monthly fee. Is there an Echo in here? It's easy to see where the new service would slot in – on Amazon Echo devices. Right out of the box users would be able to start playing music without making any payments or signing up for another service. You've currently got a whole host of ways to play music through an Echo, including connecting a phone via Bluetooth or adding Apple Music or Spotify through the Alexa app on your phone. This new service, if it actually appears, would in theory be more convenient than those options – at least for the casual music listener who only wants to hear a couple of the latest hits every now and again. If Billboard is right and the service does launch next week, Spotify will no longer be the only music streaming service offering a free, ad-supported tier. No, your clocks aren't deceiving you...the final round of the 83rd US Masters Tournament is happening right now, and it promises to be an incredible finale to an already brilliant first golf major of 2019. Prepare for fireworks (and possibly lightning) as you can get a Masters live stream for FREE from absolutely anywhere you are in the world with this guide. All the US Masters talk is about Tiger of course. Rolling back the years and looking like a genuine threat to grab his 15th major - his first for over 10 years. It's 22 years since his first win at Augusta National and the raucous crowd will be urging every single shot to "get in the hole" today. But don't forget that he wasn't leading the 83rd Masters Tournament going into the final round. That honour went to 2018 Open winner Francesco Molinari, who held a two shot advantage. And what of Tony Finau and Webb Simpson. Both Americans shot 64s yesterday and will be looking to make a push for the title today. And last year's stand-out player Brooks Koepka is in the mix, too. Anyone could win the coveted Green Jacket today! Our quick and easy guide will tell you how to watch the fourth and final round - a 2019 Masters live stream online from anywhere in the world. It's extremely easy to do, even if you are away from your home country when it's on and want to tune in to your preferred coverage. It's even FREE in some countries and available to watch without commercials. See our guide to the best sports streaming sites in 2019http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/VgyagGS9HpAEPUQtUJBfrg.jpg How to get a Masters live stream from outside your countryTry to live stream Masters golf away from your home country and you'll quickly find that your domestic coverage is geo-blocked. It's frustrating, but not unavoidable - with a Virtual Private Network, you don't have to miss out as the action really hots up. How to live stream Masters golf for FREEYour initial go-to option for streaming this year's Masters in the US is an absolute gimme. Simply head to Masters.com, hit the 'Watch' tab and away you go. As well as having all the live action from all four days of play - with a spotlight on featured holes and groups - it also includes footage from the practise range and as many highlights and interviews as you can handle. You'll find that the Masters.com live stream is geo-blocked if you try and access it from outside the country. That's where using a VPN (as explained above) comes in handy, so you can watch it as if you were back in the US. If it's all the bells and whistles of broadcast-quality coverage you need and you're in the US, the alternative is to watch the coverage on ESPN, CBS or a host of cord-cutting options. More on which below. UK and Australian audiences may not have access to that Masters.com stream, but at least you too have some free-to-air coverage to enjoy. The concluding two rounds are on the UK's BBC - which also means no pesky ad breaks - while in Australia the Nine Network has it all live and for free. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/x4WvmjGdnEUCFeqhMUrnWo.jpg How to watch a Masters live stream in the USESPN and CBS have the share of the spoils in the US, with the former taking the first two rounds (and par three contest) and CBS with rounds three and four. Note that you will need a US IP address in order to access the above stations or otherwise you won't be able to access the content from abroad - if you want to do so, you'll have to follow our VPN guidelines above and log in with a VPN, choosing a US server location. They aren't you're only option though, with all of the top US-based TV streaming services all providing an alternative. Each one offers a free trial to get you started and has masses of other content and channels for you to enjoy if you subscribe: Hulu with Live TV $40 per month - Hulu with Live TV includes CBS, Fox, NBC and ESPN.PlayStation Vue From $45 per month and the ideal choice for PS4 owners thanks to its access to the likes of ESPN, NBC, Fox, Disney and other essential networks. Crank up the price and you can add the likes of Showtime and HBO, too.DirecTV Now $50 per month - DirecTV Now includes CBS, Fox, NBC, ESPN and for $5 extra you can add the NFL Network.FuboTV $35 for the first month - FuboTV gives you the first month at a discounted rate but after that the price increases to $45 a month. The service includes CBS, Fox, NBC and the NFL Network but does not come with ESPN.YouTubeTV $40 per month - YouTubeTV gives you access to CBS, Fox, NBC and ESPN.http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/B9XNGCRYNHKJzN5zVfTMje.jpg How to watch the 2019 US Masters: live stream for free and WITHOUT COMMERCIALS in the UKFor Saturday and Sunday at the Masters, BBC Two is showing the last two rounds with completely commercial-free coverage. It has managed to sort out its scheduling last minute and get started as the leaders do at 1.55pm. It's not exclusive to the Beeb though and you may well prefer the big-budget broadcasting that Sky Sports Golf supplies. Or, if you don't want to bother yourself with a Sky Sports subscription, there is another way. Now TV may well be a decent fit for you. It costs £8.99 for a day's worth of access. And pretty much every streaming device you can think of has a Now app. Out of the UK this weekend? Then follow our instructions above to get a VPN and tune into your preferred coverage as if you were back in Blighty. Once you're set up, we'd recommend heading over to stream it on TVPlayer.com, which has all the Freeview channels (including BBC Two) in one place and a robust, legal stream to watch on. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/D39crXd3gob7KPsE3LAFUo.jpg How watch the 2019 US Masters in Australia for FREE!Great news, Australia. 2019's first major golf tournament is playing on free-to-air television with the Nine Network's Gem channel showing the action. Particularly exciting with two Aussies in the last two pairs - they get going at around 4.30am Sunday morning AEST. Your other option is to sign up for the fast-emerging Kayo Sports streaming service, which features no lock-in contracts and gives you access to over 50 other sports including the F1, NRL, FA Cup football, NBA playoffs...the list goes on! Not only that, but Kayo is boasting three bonus cameras for every round of the golf, providing more ways to watch - so well worth checking out if you're a golf obsessive that wants the best possible Masters live stream coverage. Kayo Sports Basic Package costs $25 per month and allows users to stream across two devices simultaneously. Alternatively, the service also offers a Kayo Sports Premium Package, which provides three concurrent streams for $35 per month. And don't forget that if you're out of Australia this weekend and are still desperate to tune in to one of the above methods of watching the golf, you'll need a VPN to magically transfer your IP address back to a server in Australia. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/jgvvohCEmS99W9XuRfJMSo.jpg How to watch the 2019 Masters: live stream in Canadahttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/ebGZgkd4qVX7mUuvz3WNkH.jpg http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/digital-home/~4/yoSaWRYESCw

Samsung has launched a collection of Galaxy A phones, and the leader of the pack is the Samsung Galaxy A80, which boasts a novel rotating camera, as well as a large uninterrupted display. But it hasn’t been very long since Samsung released the Samsung Galaxy S10, one of the most impressive smartphones we’ve ever seen, and like the Galaxy A80 it’s packed with cutting-edge features. So which Samsung device is the most novel in terms of new features, and what’s the difference between the company’s 2019 handsets? Is the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 still the brand's premium phone? This is what we want to see in the Samsung Galaxy Note 10These are the best camera phones you can buyDesign and displayAt 6.7 inches the Samsung Galaxy A80’s screen is significantly bigger than the Galaxy S10’s 6.1-inch display, and that extra size is increased by the lack of a front-facing camera in the A80 to take up space, whereas the S10 has a ‘punch-hole’ cut out of it for this snapper in the top right corner. Both phones use Samsung’s Super AMOLED screen tech, for unrivaled color accuracy and high levels of maximum brightness. They also both have a fingerprint scanner built into the screen. Despite the larger screen size the Samsung Galaxy S10 has a better screen resolution, at 1440 x 3040 instead of the Galaxy A80’s 1080 x 2400, so as you can imagine the Galaxy S10 has a much higher pixel per inch count. The larger screen size is reflected in a bigger design in the Galaxy A80 as, at 165.2 x 76.5 x 9.3mm, it’s a fair size bigger and thicker than the Galaxy S10 at 149.9 x 70.4 x 7.8mm. You can feel this difference when you hold them in your hand, as the A80 feels a lot more like a ‘plus-sized’ phone. Both have a rather similar ‘premium’ feel however, with Corning Gorilla Glass fronts and backs and metal bands in between. The S10’s screen is curved around the edges though, while the A80’s is flat, which may give it an edge in terms of ‘premium’ feels. They also both have USB-C connections, but the Galaxy S10 has a headphone jack which the A80 doesn’t, so if you’re attached to the 3.5mm port the S10 may be a better choice. CameraThe Samsung Galaxy A80’s camera is probably the most novel feature on the device – the phone has a triple-lens camera on the back that can pop up and rotate when you want to take a selfie, which should let it take selfies of unprecedented quality as well as performing well for other types of photos. We couldn’t get enough of turning the camera to portrait mode and seeing the little back panel pop up – whether these moving parts will survive wear and tear is something we’ll need to find out though. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/f9U68ZMrJCrHDv45iB3PmJ.jpg The Samsung Galaxy A80's rotating pop-up camera. Image credit: TechRadar The three cameras consist of a 48MP main, 8MP ultra-wide and 3D depth-sensing snapper, and in our brief hands-on with the phone we found it great for autofocus as well as background blurring, but we’ll need to spend more time with the handset to see how good it truly is. The Samsung Galaxy S10’s camera is a little more traditional in that it has a distinct front and back camera array. On the front there’s a 10MP snapper, which performs well enough but is not quite as good as the front camera on the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, which has a bonus 8MP assistant. On the rear of the Galaxy S10 there’s a 12MP regular, 12MP telephoto and 16MP ultra-wide lens, which take pictures with great detail and are particularly competent at picking up punchy colors. In particular, the telephoto lens, which you won’t find in the Galaxy A80, was good at sensing depth and taking pictures at a distance. Battery lifehttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/entF6bxR8AFJYzEgp2bXp6.jpg The Samsung Galaxy S10's reverse wireless charging. Image credit: TechRadar While the Samsung Galaxy S10 comes with a 3,400mAh battery, you’re going to get a 3,700mAh power pack in the Galaxy A80, but both should easily last you a day. Although the Galaxy A80 has a bigger battery you’re actually going to have an easier time charging the Galaxy S10 up, as the S10 supports wireless charging (and reverse wireless charging, so you can use the S10 to charge other devices) whereas the A80 only supports fast charging. Features and specsFrom the design and battery life, it may seem that the Samsung Galaxy A80 is the better phone, but you’re actually going to get better internals from the Galaxy S10. While the A80 has the Snapdragon 730 chipset, which is an admirable mid-range processor, the S10 boasts either a Snapdragon 855 or any Exynos 9820 (depending on where you are in the world), both of which are as cutting-edge as you can get in a chipset right now. Both phones have 8GB of RAM, upwards of 128GB of storage, and both run Android 9, the latest Android operating system, so you’re going to find them rather similar to use, and both use the Samsung One UI which has a relatively clean aesthetic. Unless you’re pushing the phone to its limit, like playing a high-end game or using an intensive app, you’re not likely to notice a huge difference between the phones, but if you do need every drop of performance power you can get then the Galaxy S10 is the better handset. Takeawayhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/3zBFgWSy5jv9AoSiy9fSVR.jpg Image credit: TechRadar It’s hard to compare the two phones, not least because we don’t know the price of the Samsung Galaxy A80 yet so don’t know if it’s worth the price you’ll pay for it. The Galaxy A80 is a bigger device – between its larger body, screen and battery size, it's no doubt a chunky monkey, but the Galaxy S10 has better specs and arguably a more diverse camera loadout too. We’ll know for sure how the two phones compare when they come out, but for now it seems the Samsung Galaxy A80 is the big and bulky, but slow, counterpart to the small and swift Samsung Galaxy S10.
