Apex Legends has crossed the 50 million registered player mark, EA announced today. By some estimates that makes the player base around a quarter of the size of the battle royale behemoth - and money printing machine - Fortnite, which had around 200 million players at last count, but also means that Apex Legends is catching up quickly. The difference between the games, besides the obvious gap in player bases, is the time in which they rose to meteoric heights: Fortnite took around four months to reach the 50 million mark, according to Roundhill Investments, while Apex Legends has done it in just one. Apex Legends: essential beginner’s tips Here's your guide to the best weapons in AnthemNeed coins? Here's how to get more money in AnthemThe announcement was made in a tweet by Respawn Entertainment's CEO Vince Zampella who thanked the community for its quick adoption as well as on EA's website, which also teased the first season update that's due out later this month. Fortnite's not going down without a fightThat said, Fortnite isn't ready to give up its top spot just yet: Fortnite has just entered its eighth season which has its own tricks to keep its 200 million players coming back for more, like the addition of new in-game locations and features. The newest of these features is a Ping feature similar to the one that debuted in Apex Legends that lets you announce an item's location to your group. The eighth season will also reportedly bring buried treasure maps into Fortnite, which Epic says will make their appearance in the near future. Fortnite is available to play for free on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS4 and PC, and Apex Legends is available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Juniper Networks has announced its intent to acquire Mist Systems for $405m as the company aims to deliver on the promise of a software-defined enterprise. Mist Systems, which offers a wireless LAN network powered by AI, will see its technology combined with Juniper's wired LAN, SD-Wan and security services if the deal receives approval. Juniper Networks will also leverage Mist's AI capabilities by extending them across its portfolio for software-defined architectures. Juniper Networks CEO Rami Rahim explained in a blog post that the acquisition would put it in the unique position to service the enterprise from end-to-end, saying: “With our planned acquisition of Mist Systems, we are not only expanding our enterprise portfolio into the wireless arena, but also staking claim to AI-driven operations in the era of multicloud. Operations is inherently an end-to-end proposition. User experience is not siloed. It requires all of the elements, from wireless access to the wired LAN across the WAN, to servers in the data center or cloud to work together. Having the breadth of product to service this entire space is important. With the addition of Mist’s industry-leading wireless portfolio, we are becoming one of a limited number of technology suppliers that can truly service the end-to-end enterprise.” Why are enterprises slow to adopt machine learning?AI took over the world in 2018Enterprises expect IoT results in less than three yearsSoftware-defined enterpriseIn his blog post, Rahim also noted Juniper is trying to differentiate itself from Cisco, Arista and VMware with its strong enterprise push. The company, traditionally known as a networking provider to service providers and cloud providers, is also working to combine all of its technologies across routing, switching and security to position itself as a one-stop shop for businesses looking to migrate to the cloud. Juniper Networks' acquisition of Mist Systems is expected to close during its second fiscal quarter after being subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. We got a hearty helping of information about AMD Ryzen 3rd Generation processors at the start of the year, but all has been quiet for a while. Thankfully, this long silence has been broken by a massive retail leak that may have spelled out the entire Ryzen 3000 lineup. It appears Ryzen 3rd Generation will include many new additions and an overall increase in core counts – if Bigzam’s recently published product catalog is to be believed. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/LdttkVyWwrUaxi4eTWsp76.jpg Image Credit: TechRadar At the head of the family is a new Ryzen 9 3850X processor equipped with 16 cores and 32 threads, with clock speeds ranging between 4.3GHz and 5.1GHz. Just below that is a very similar Ryzen 9 3800X that will supposedly feature the same number of cores and threads, but clocks in at a slower 3.9GHz base and 4.7GHz boost speed. Ryzen 2nd Generation skipped over including a Ryzen 7 2800X to replace the Ryzen 7 1800X, so it appears AMD is making up for lost time by introducing a new flagship processor with twice the number of CPU cores. The Ryzen 7 3700X will also apparently get a bump up in cores with a total of 12 alongside 24 threads. Comparatively, the Ryzen 7 2700X only featured eight cores and 16 threads. AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3rd Generation: up to 64-core processorsIntel Coffee Lake Refresh might be shaking in light of these rumorsOnly the best graphics card can fully unlock the power of these chipsIt’s only until we get to the Ryzen 5 3600X do we see a more traditional eight-core, 16-thread processor, which again is a spec bump from the hexa-core Ryzen 5 2600X. Interestingly, the Ryzen 5 3600 is also rumored to get a G-series variant, which will purportedly feature integrated Navi graphics. The Ryzen 5 3600G and Ryzen 3 3300G appear to be follow-ups to AMD's previous-generation APUs – the Ryzen 5 2400G and Ryzen 3 2200G – that included discrete-class, integrated Vega graphics. There’s isn’t any mention of whether the GPUs built into these chips will also be 7nm, like the AMD Radeon VII, but we’re hoping they will be. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/4352To5krfv4NV6ejjf3mV.jpg Image Credit: TechRadar Kingly sumLastly, we come to pricing, which seems to be a bit high compared to the cost of Ryzen 2nd Generation processors. For example, the Ryzen 7 3700X will supposedly run for approximately $370 (about £280 / AU$520), whereas the Ryzen 7 2700X costs only $329 / £329 / AU$509. Of course, these are price conversions from Singaporean dollars, and there’s no way to tell if Bizgram has listed these CPUs above their usual market rate. Earlier this month, Adored TV listed prices that seem to be more in line with what we would typically expect from AMD, but there’s also no way to be sure any of this information is legitimate. We’re going to take these retail listings with a healthy dose of skepticism. We’ll keep you up to date with all of the latest information legitimizing or disproving this report as we hear it. While commercial quantum computing is still a ways off, Microsoft has officially launched its own hardware network. The Microsoft Quantum Network made its official debut during a Startup Summit at the company's Redmond HQ which laid out the its vision for the future of quantum computing. Representatives from 16 startups attended Microsoft's summit which featured talks from leaders of its quantum team as well as demos and workshops related to its programming tools. IBM is taking quantum computing out of the labUS set to take quantum computing leadIntel has just squeezed a ‘quantum computer’ onto a silicon chipCorporate vice president of Microsoft's Azure Hardware Systems Group, Todd Holmdahl gave a speech in which he explained how quantum computing will be used to solve the world's biggest problems, saying: “We’re looking at problems like climate change. We’re looking at solving big food production problems. We think we have opportunities to solve problems around materials science, personal health care, machine learning. All of these things are possible and obtainable with a quantum computer. We have been talking around here that we’re at the advent of the quantum economy.” Quantum eraMicrosoft has laid the groundwork for quantum computing over the last year and a half by releasing a new programming language specifically for quantum workloads called Q# as part of its Quantum Development Kit and the company has also worked with researchers and academic institutions. According to Julie Love, director of Microsoft Quantum Business Development, the company will first offer quantum computing through Microsoft Azure. However, it is likely that the technology will be applied in such a way that customers can switch between traditional computing and quantum computing based on the individual needs of the problems they're trying to solve. Last year, Holmdah predicted that commercial quantum computers would be available in five years and while we'll have to wait to see if his prediction has come true, Microsoft has certainly made big steps towards that goal with the release of the Microsoft Quantum Network. AMD gave us a sneak peek at its new Vega graphics card architecture way back at CES 2017. What we didn’t know then, though, is that it wouldn’t end up in the hands of consumers until August 2017. When Cryptocurrency was all the rage back in 2017, AMD Vega was massively successful as a mining graphics card. But, as the mining craze died down, so did consumer demand for AMD Vega cards. And, while that means that AMD Vega cards are affordable again, we suspect many users will go for the AMD Radeon VII instead, anyway. Not that we necessarily need them, though. AMD’s latest Radeon Software Adrenalin 2019 Edition just unlocked a ton of new functionality for current graphics cards, so the Vega cards we already have are doing just fine. Cut to the chaseWhat is it? The follow-up to AMD’s Polaris GPU architectureWhen's it out? August 14, 2017What will it cost? $499 or £549 (about AU$630)http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/wtobYJdMEMdMWCDC59DHpQ.jpg AMD Radeon RX Vega release dateBack in August 2017, the AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 launched as a standalone card for $499 or £549 (about AU$630). That's a big step up from the Radeon RX 500 lineup, which starts at as low as $169 (about £136, AU$219), but this is meant to be AMD's enthusiast-class grade graphics card. It's been a long-awaited sequel to the company's mostly defunct Radeon R9 Fury X, which was still going for a cool $389 (about £315, AU$505) up until the very end. What's more, at this price point it's competitive against the $549 (£539, AU$1,299) Nvidia GTX 1080 Founders Edition. After the launch of the Vega 64 in the US, AMD offered two other editions of the card that could be bought exclusively as part of ‘Radeon Packs’, which bundled two free games, and discounts on a Samsung CF791 curved ultra-wide FreeSync monitor and a nice $100 discount on a Ryzen 7 processor and motherboard. The packs are unfortunately unavailable to purchase at time of writing, however. Unfortunately, those hardware discounts only kicked in if users are buying the said monitor and CPU/motherboard combo at the same time as their Vega GPU. Of course, users could choose to not buy the extra components and peripherals while still getting the two free games, confirmed – in the US at least – to be Wolfenstein II and Prey. The limited-edition AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 came as part of a Radeon Black Pack for $599 (£460, AU$750). Meanwhile, the liquid-cooled Vega 64 ran for $699 (£530, AU$875), and can only be purchased as part of AMD's Radeon Aqua Pack. Lastly, you'll be able to purchase the AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 by itself for $400 (about £284, AU$500) MSRP. At the end of the day Vega was as competitive to Nvidia’s Pascal cards as the first generation Ryzen was to Intel’s Kaby Lake. And, now that AMD Vega cards are back down to MSRP, or even lower, you won’t have to worry about spending 2-3x retail price to upgrade your graphics cards. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/SJNgPwjbfJ4ZcyAxddB4qQ.jpg AMD Radeon RX Vega priceBack in August 2017, the AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 launched as a standalone card for $499 or £549 (about AU$630). At the end of the day, Vega was – at least at launch – as competitive to Nvidia as Ryzen is to Intel. Thankfully, due to the cryptocurrency market cooling down, AMD Vega cards have fallen to a reasonable price. They’re not quite down to MSRP, but they’re pretty close – you won’t have to worry about spending 2-3x MSRP value to upgrade your GPU. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/VadoM9taAHG5eHVt2TjfLT.jpg AMD Radeon RX Vega specsFollowing its 2017 Capsaicin 2 livestream event, AMD revealed the exact specifications for its two new Vega GPUs, as well as its underlying Vega 10 architecture. From the chart above, it's clear the most powerful of the bunch will be the liquid-cooled version of the Radeon RX Vega 64. The more expensive water-cooled version will operate at higher base/boost clocks, despite sharing identical specs to its air-cooled twin. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/4kfyZBiSLrh4JozAU34HNT.jpg The RX Vega 56, on the other hand, is positioned against Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1070 at $400 (about £305, AU$505). However, early benchmarks have cited performance that greatly outweighed that of its closest competition while running triple-A games at 2560 x 1440. Like the Polaris 10 architecture that preceded it, AMD's Polaris 10 architecture is built on an 14nm FinFET process that should ultimately make it more power-efficient and robust in performance. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/LxdjD6UJeB5Tpniup8nFKT.jpg Vega 10 is also noticeably skewed towards delivering on more compute power than raw graphical strength like Nvidia's Pascal GPUs. This will likely mean Vega will be able to better handle the complex calculations of procedural surfaces, volumetric lighting and the overall quality of the in-game graphics. This era of Vega GPUs also ditches GDDR5 memory altogether for a new format known as HBM2, or high-bandwidth memory. AMD believes its efficient memory offers a 75% smaller footprint than GDDR5 while also being 3.5 times more power-efficient. AMD also claims that Vega’s high-bandwidth cache controller will improve maximum frame rates by 50% and minimum frame rates by 100% over GDDR5 memory. Interestingly, Vega 10 is also designed to support up to 16GB of HBM2 memory – which we've already seen from Radeon Vega Frontier Edition – so Nvidia's Titan X may finally get some competition from AMD. Stay tuned for more details regarding everything AMD Vega, as we'll be updating this page with the latest as it happens. In the meantime, be sure to update to the latest version of AMD Radeon Software Crimson ReLive for a generous helping of GPU control features. Just when we thought Apple forgot about the Mac mini, Apple swept us off our feet with a stunning update in late 2018, alongside the new MacBook Air – another neglected Mac. It was so stunning that we’re already getting our hopes up for a Mac mini 2019. The latest Mac mini offers fantastic performance – even at its base configuration with an Intel Core i3 processor – and is able to keep up with the intense demands of users. The computer also has an abundance of ports for connectivity and a decent thermal architecture to keep the heat down. Of course, the new Mac mini is hardly the perfect machine. The computer’s integrated graphics leave something to be desired, its SSD storage is the bare minimum and it isn’t really all that cheap – even if it is technically the “cheapest” Mac available. Just in case Apple does release an update this year, we’ve whipped up a wish list. Check back for more updates as Mac Mini 2019 release date, price and other information begins to leak, if at all. Cut to the chase What is it? The next Mac Mini computer When is it out? October 2019, if at all What will it cost? Possibly starting around $799 (£799, AU$1,249) http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/Bo7wM7EccToh46rbJEjCue.jpg Image Credit: Apple Mac Mini 2019 release date Considering that it took Apple four years to release the 2018 update, it’s hard to know if it will actually release a 2019 update to the Mac mini. In fact, we might have to wait until a new MacBook Air or Mac Pro refresh. However, if Apple does release a new Mac mini this year, it’s probably not going to happen until October, when it typically reveals the details of its new Mac releases. At least that’s how it played out last year, when the company broke the news of the Mac Mini 2018 at the Apple Event in late October, with the mini desktop hitting the shelves a few days later in November. Again, whether Apple will release a 2019 Mac Mini model is still speculation at this point, but we’ll update this story once we hear anything more concrete. Keep your eyes peeled. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/fpvdTYoFhY9sZvsAMMRzVY.jpg Image Credit: TechRadar Mac Mini 2019 price At the moment, the Mac Mini 2018 has two configurations: the $799 base configuration, which has a Core i3 processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM, a UHD Graphics 630 integrated graphics and a 128GB SSD; and the $1099 “high-end” configuration, which boasts a Core i5 processor a 256GB SSD, and the same integrated graphics and RAM. With its two configurations, the Mac Mini 2018 has been dubbed the “cheapest” Mac on the market, and we definitely want to see the same prices on the 2019 update. Unless Apple has some big, expensive feature it plans to add – e.g. the MacBook Pro and its wonky Touch Bar – we expect the prices to stay in the same ballpark. Although if Apple were to upgrade the storage, something that may not be entirely necessary considering most creatives (its target users) have their own heavy-duty external drives anyway, the price might go up a little. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/nAzbg8FLXWZBjLXTSQJXzX.jpg Image Credit: TechRadar What we want to seeAgain, while the Mac Mini 2018 has been largely well-received due to its superior performance packed in a compact form factor, it does still leave some things to be desired. If Apple’s tiny computer does get its update this year, there are a couple of things we’d like to see improved and added new. A cheaper base model When the Mac Mini first released, it was priced at $499 and supposed to compete with PCs as an affordable entry into the Apple ecosystem. Though the Mac Mini is five times faster than its predecessor and is still the cheapest Mac around, at $799 it’s still more expensive than comparable PC desktops. Plus, you still have to shell out for a monitor, a keyboard and a mouse, at the very least, which essentially puts you at almost the same price as an iMac ($1,099) with more storage space to start. The Mac Mini 2018 may boast incredible performance, but its price point is nowhere near competitive. We’d love to see the same level of performance and a much affordable price if the computer does get an update this year. More storage While the Mac Mini’s target market is creatives, most of whom may already own one or two external hard drives to keep up with their storage demands, paying $799 for a base configuration with only 128GB of SSD storage feels pretty steep. These days, that is the bare minimum for desktops, and is hardly enough for storing a handful of apps and software, let alone big files, like images and videos. At least 256GB of space to start is essential for a would-be 2019 model. Better integrated graphics One of the main complaints about the Mac Mini is the fact that its integrated graphics are underwhelming in just about every graphics-intensive application, whether you’re streaming and rendering videos or gaming. Dropped frames, low frame rates and slow video rendering are some of the reported symptoms. Considering that many of its users handle graphics-heavy files and work, that’s not a good sign. Some folks have resorted to adding an external GPU to their setups, but that only adds to the cost and defeats the computer’s purpose. So we’d love to see Apple step up its game, and improve the Mac Mini Intel Iris integrated graphics or even a discrete GPU inside. Perhaps something similar to what the MacBook Pros have, which are considerably better. Separate the power supply While the Mac Mini has an improved thermal architecture, some units experience thermal throttling and overheating, , according to end users. It’s become such an issue, in fact, that some have replaced the thermal paste with third-party stuff just to keep the heat down, though not by much.Separating the built-in power supply could be an effective way to manage this heat problem, resulting in an even better performance and possibly a smaller form factor (or enough space for a dedicated graphics card). More user upgradability The earliest Mac Mini models were known for their upgradability, but this latest generation has very limited user upgrade options. Before, you could update the CPU, RAM and storage to your heart’s content; now, however, only the RAM is upgradable; and it’s hardly an easy undertaking. The CPU, RAM and storage in the Mac Mini 2018 may be upgraded when you’re in the process of ordering them, maxing the price out at $3,999, but Apple’s doing it for you and it can get expensive quickly. We’d like to see Apple bring back the old generation’s user upgradability in the Mac Mini 2019, especially if the computer largely sticks to the same specs. Better speakers This is more of an afterthought, but the Mac Mini 2018’s speaker is considered poor by some critics. Though a headphone jack is on hand so you can attach better speakers, it would be a welcome update to give the 2019 model a better speaker – or remove it entirely for an even smaller form factor. Back when the Dell XPS 15 2018 launched, it was packed to the brim with 8th-generation H-series processors, fast SSDs and some gorgeous displays. And, it is still one of the best laptops in 2019. However, now that Intel Whiskey Lake is here, and Nvidia Turing graphics are powering some of the best gaming laptops, we thought it was the perfect time to come up with a list of things we’d like to see in the Dell XPS 15 2019. No matter what the result is, it’s going to be way faster than the current model. Beyond certain aspects of the Dell XPS 13 2019 that we think will carry over, like the webcam, we don’t know much about the Dell XPS 15 2019 right now. However, we can still do some speculation, crafting a sort-of wishlist of what we want to see in the next XPS 15. So, keep this page bookmarked, and we’ll update it just as soon as we hear anything. Cut to the chase What is it? The 2019 version of the Dell XPS 15 When is it out? Likely Q1 2019 What will it cost? Probably starting around $1,059 (£1,179 AU$1,699) http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/9vAMW2LedQ8aL7biVWpXHc.jpg Dell XPS 15 release date It’s too early to try and point out an exact Dell XPS 15 2019 release date, but instead we’ll look to the past to try to predict the future. Things could shift a little one way or the other, but the next Intel mobile platform is here, so it’s only a matter of time. We’ll probably start to see movement once Intel gets its supply issues under control. Over the last few years, the Dell XPS 15 has had a bit of an uneven release history. While the Dell XPS 15 2018 came out in May of 2018, past XPS 15 models haven’t been totally consistent. In February 2017, we got the Dell XPS 15 2017, but before that, the 2015 model dropped in October. It’s kind of all over the place, and it could mean we have to wait a very long time for the next one. However, we’re sure that if a ton of new hardware comes out, Dell will be close behind with a hardware refresh for the Dell XPS 15. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/orunjpbNggbcZFq3Gyuz6c.jpg Dell XPS 15 price The current XPS 15 starts out at $1,059 (£1,179, AU$1,699) for a quad-core, 8th-generation Intel Core i5 chip, 8GB of RAM and a 1TB 5,400 RPM hard drive. However, you can spec it out for up to $2,959 (£2,279, AU$3,999) for a Core i9, 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. Dell will probably follow the same pricing trend as the current model for the XPS 15 2019 – bring out an entry-level notebook for about $1,050 and let users configure it however they want. However, we could see Dell raising the price a bit for the entry model, as it has for the last few years – plus, computer hardware keeps getting more expensive. Again, we won’t know what the pricing is going to be until we get closer to launch, so stay tuned. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/8Mdpfhdua4rMHPhBuZ9L9c.jpg What want to see from Dell XPS 15 2019 The Dell XPS 15 is already one of the best Ultrabooks you can buy today, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have room to improve. So, we went ahead and created a wishlist of things we want to see from the Dell XPS 15 2019, to really elevate it into the laptop stratosphere. Better cooling The biggest drawback that the Dell XPS 15 has faced for the last few years is the thermal limitations introduced from its increasingly thinner designs. Don’t get us wrong, we love having such a portable notebook with this much horsepower behind it, but if you’re doing a lot of video editing or other workstation-class tasks, the Dell XPS 15 2018 likely won’t last very long. Because the Dell XPS 15 is a high-end device, we’d love to see a cooling design that, well, keeps it cool. If it comes at the cost of keeping the same thinness as this years model, or even thickening it up a bit, we could live with that – it’s already easy to carry around, we just don’t want to thermal throttle anymore. More ports For a 15-inch laptop, the 2018 Dell XPS 15 is a little light on port selection. It’s more robust than the MacBook Pro, as it actually features USB Type-A and an SD card reader. But, for a laptop with this spec and size, we’d love to see some Ethernet and maybe even a DisplayPort. We know, we’re entering the age of the dongle – we would just like to see a bit more flexibility out of such a premium device. Move that webcam At this point, it kind of feels like we’re beating a dead horse, but that webcam has got to move. Nobody who uses their webcam on a regular basis for video conferencing, or even the occasional hangout with friends, is going to appreciate a webcam that perpetually gazes up their noses. It’s not an ideal situation for either end of the conversation, and it even makes Windows Hello kind of a pain. Luckily, it looks like Dell may have figured it out – the new Dell XPS 13 has moved the chin-cam up into the top bezel thanks to some kind of shrinking magic. Hopefully, this tiny little camera finds its way into the Dell XPS 15 2019. Unlimited power We know that we just talked about Dell’s thermal solution, but we still want more power. This might be hypocritical, but with Whiskey Lake, Coffee Lake Refresh available today – not to mention the upcoming 10nm Ice Lake for laptops – we’re hungry for stronger performance. If there’s a way that Dell can find a middle ground – include a beefier processor while creating a more robust cooling solution, we’d be very happy. That’s not taking graphics into consideration. Nvidia has launched its Turing graphics for laptops at CES 2019, which should drastically improve graphics performance. However, the Dell XPS 15 2018 featured the GTX 1050 Ti, and there’s not an equivalent laptop GPU. We’ll probably have to wait for Nvidia to release a comparable graphics chip – maybe a mobile version of the GTX 1660 Ti? UPDATE: We've added Metro Exodus to our list of the best Xbox One X games, thanks to its fantastic 4K visual upgrade – check out the next slide to find out more! Since the Xbox One X's release a year ago, the powerful console has changed the limits of gaming - improving game visuals and allowing new titles to true 4K on the console. We now know of over 250 Xbox One X enhanced games for the new console including new titles such as Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Forza Horizon 4 - and there's more on the way. While we'd love to tell you all of these games are going to ooze visual fidelity when you pop them onto your TV, not all of these games are going to look like they're fresh out of the developer's oven. You see, even though the Xbox One X is capable of 4K/HDR at 60 frames per second along with Dolby Atmos sound, not all games are guaranteed to have all of these improvements. Some will support all of them, while some will support HDR and nothing more. With this in mind, we've created a list of the best Xbox One X games that push the console to its limits. Here you'll find the games whose patch details confirm they'll push at least two of the console's capabilities, whether that's 4K, HDR or Dolby Atmos. We've also included details on some upcoming titles with confirmed Xbox One X enhancements in the works in an effort to keep you informed of what's on the horizon for the 4K-ready console. The vast majority of the Xbox One X-enhanced games on this list, however, have been played by TechRadar staff, either in preview form or in their final retail state. Read on for our in depth impressions of the best Xbox One X games. It's also worth keeping an eye on the regularly updated list of Enhanced titles on Major Nelson's website or Microsoft's official Xbox One X Enhanced list found on Xbox.com. The best Xbox One X deals and bundles in the US and UKThe best Xbox One X deals and bundles in AustraliaXbox One X vs Xbox One S vs Xbox One: should you make the upgrade? What are its enhancements? Native 4K (3840x2160 at 30FPS) While it doesn't boast the PC version's cutting edge ray tracing effects, it's hard to fault what developer 4A Games has accomplished with the Xbox One X version of Metro Exodus. Locked at 30FPS, the 4A Engine never seems to falter during intense shootouts, with a smooth consistency that keeps the action moving at all times. Of course, there are those who might've hoped for a 1080p/60FPS option to be included in the final release, but rest assured, Metro Exodus looks and feels great at 30FPS. As has become common with all big game releases these days, Metro Exodus offers HDR settings regardless of which Xbox One console it is installed on – from the original base model, to the 4K-ready Xbox One X. Of course, you'll find that the game's high-dynamic range looks best on Microsoft's premiere console, with its additional resolution allowing you to see more subtle color gradations and an added level of detail within shaded areas. Although the world of Metro Exodus brutal and unforgiving, there are moments of extreme beauty to be found within the game. During the open-world desert section, we continually found ourselves blown away by the glowing sunlight peering through the clouds or reflecting from the sandy terrain. Easily the best way to play the game on a home console, the Xbox One X-enhanced version of Metro Exodus' 4K resolution truly accentuates the immense level of detail in both its claustrophobic interiors and vast, wide-open areas. More than just an arbitrary number of vertical and horizontal lines, the Xbox One X's Ultra HD resolution does a fantastic job of fully immersing the player within the greatest world that 4A Games has created to date. What are its enhancements? Native 4K and HDR (3840x2160 at 30 FPS or 1920x1080 at 60 FPS) The only word that can be used to describe Forza Horizon 4 is stunning. The latest addition to the open-world racing title is a testament to the power of Xbox One X enhancements. Racing through Great Britain at 4K is a truly breathtaking experience, further boosted by the game's dynamic seasons. If the the native 4K mode isn't graphically impressive enough, the new 60FPS mode will blow you away with its smooth transition and its picture perfect take of every pothole, lavender field and pebble dash wall in Britain. Make sure to check out our full Forza Horizon 4 review. What are its enhancements? Native 4K and HDR Assassin's Creed games are known for being visual masterpieces and Odyssey is no different. Xbox One X enhancements truly bring Odyssey's Grecian world to life, with higher resolution textures, denser crowds, improved depth of field and an overall richer environment. Check out our Assassin's Creed Odyssey review diary for more. What are its enhancements? Native 4K / 30FPS or 1080p / 60FPS If you've previously had a chance to play Rise of the Tomb Raider on the Xbox One X, then you probably have a pretty good idea of what to expect from its follow-up, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, in terms of enhancements. Like its predecessor, Shadow of the Tomb Raider can be played using settings that favor either Resolution or Performance — the former allows the game to regularly display at a native 4K resolution, while the latter drops the game down to 1080p, but offers much smoother gameplay targeting 60FPS. Needless to say, Shadow of the Tomb Raider benefits greatly from the additional detail afforded by its 4K resolution uptick. Environments (particularly foliage, water and mud) are utterly jaw-dropping in 4K, making this entry the best-looking in the series to date. That said, it's not an entirely flawless presentation, with occasional screen tearing issues and framerate drops cropping up during some of the game's more graphically intense sections. Still, it's highly likely that developer Eidos Montreal is working on a patch to iron out these problems — we'll check back on the game in the near future to see if they've been addressed. While Shadow of the Tomb Raider's Performance mode shows a noticeable drop in visual fidelity when compared to the game's Resolution mode, the game still looks exceptional, with its smoother framerate giving the player an additional level of responsiveness, making its controls feel more tactile in the process. It's clear that a lot of effort has been put into Shadow of the Tomb Raider's enhancements, and barring some occasional performance hitches that will likely be addressed in an update, the game really shines on Xbox One X. Check out our full Shadow of the Tomb Raider review What are its enhancements? Native 4K / 30FPS or 1800p / 60FPS Though it's almost ten years old, Red Faction Guerrilla arrives on Xbox One X with some impressive visual enhancements that serve to make the game's destructive architecture and enormous explosions all the more satisfying. In the game's display options, you'll find two video options: High Quality and High Performance. The former sees the game target a 4K resolution at 30FPS, while the latter drops the resolution slightly to 1800p, delivering a smoother 60FPS experience. To the naked eye, the High Quality resolution benefits aren't immediately apparent, given that the Xbox One X will automatically upscale to 4K anyway. However, the buttery-smooth framerate of High Performance mode is immediately apparent, looking especially great while driving around Red Faction Guerrilla's vast Martian landscapes. As part of its 'Re-Mars-tered' package, the game also receives improved textures and lighting — both of which work hard to enhance the game's visual appeal. Of course, there's no denying that Red Faction Guerrilla looks like a remaster of a last gen title, with very little color variation in environments and shadows that are just a little too dark (the inclusion of an HDR mode might've given the game's endless browns, reds and oranges a little more life and variety). Still, this is as good as Red Faction: Guerrilla is ever likely to look on a console, and if you're a fan of the game from its original release, we heartily recommend that you pick up this stellar remaster and get your ass to Mars again as soon as possible. What are its enhancements? 4K and 60 FPS What is it? It took a Hell of a long time, but Doom has now been updated for Xbox One X. While the game always looked incredible, it now looks sharper than ever, thanks to a native 4K update. Like before, the game still runs at 60 FPS, meaning the Xbox One X version of the game offers the best of both worlds. Admittedly, we'd have liked it if a HDR mode had been added, given how long this update was in gestation, but we can't argue with the 4K update we've received. Seriously, Doom looks incredible in Ultra High Definition, and its buttery smooth framerate is just the icing on the cake. What are its enhancements? Native 4K and HDR A contender for prettiest open-world shooter to date, Far Cry 5 receives a number of impressive enhancements when played on the Xbox One X. Unlike many enhanced games that employ dynamic scaling techniques to keep their resolutions as close to 4K as possible, Far Cry 5 boasts a full and unwavering 3840 x 2160 resolution that never dips. It also manages to retain the temporal anti-aliasing that made Ubisoft's own Assassin's Creed Origins look so spectacular on Microsoft's high-end console. HDR settings are also available on Far Cry 5, though you won't be able to tweak them as thoroughly as you could with Origins' 'paper-white' and 'maximum luminance' sliders. Still, the game looks and runs gloriously on Xbox One X at 30FPS. On top of this, users playing on the console will also receive improved terrain detail and shading. We can only hope that every Ubisoft title going forward looks as good as this on Xbox One X. Check out our full Far Cry 5 review What are its enhancements? 4K and HDR Though it's art-style is simplistic, there's an incredible beauty to be found in the presentation of Microsoft's latest exclusive, Sea of Thieves. This massively multiplayer online pirate adventure is available on both Xbox One and PC, and while the latter offers unlocked frame rates and ultra-wide monitor support, the console version ultilizes HDR to really bring the game to life — sunsets have never been more breathtaking in a video game. Thankfully, Sea of Thieves supports cross play between Windows 10 and Xbox so you can play with everyone. Along with its stunning HDR-enhanced visuals, Sea of Thieves' cartoonish art style is bolstered by a native 4K resolution on Xbox One X. As you'd imagine, the water is especially beautiful in Sea of Thieves — we'd even go as far as to call it the most realistic water in any video game to date. The way that light shines through waves is also especially realistic. Still, Sea of Thieves is most impressive when you're standing on the deck of your ship, looking out as the sun sets over an island brimming with the promise of treasure. Weather can change on you in an instant, with a dynamic cloud simulation and storm system that really ups the intensity as you sail the game's vast ocean. If you want a game that shows off just how much the Xbox One X can enhance a visual experience, we suggest you set sail for the Sea of Thieves. Read all about it in our Sea of Thieves hub. What are its enhancements? 4K and performance enhancements Bethesda's epic post-apocalyptic role-playing game has received an Xbox One X update which brings it more in line with the PS4 Pro version of the game. We now have a native 4K resolution, though the game still exhibits horizontal scaling during more graphically intense moments. That said, at its lowest, it still delivers an impressive 3264x2160 resolution, which is much higher than the PS4 Pro's 1440p target. Elsewhere, improvements have been made to Fallout 4's framerate on Xbox One, hitting its target of 30fps more consistently than it did at launch, though you'll still find dropped frames on occasion – a problem the PS4 Pro version does not have. Still, even with the odd framerate hiccup, Fallout 4 looks glorious on Xbox One X, making it the best way to experience the game on consoles. What are its enhancements? 60 FPS, 3K, enhanced graphics What is it? Following behind Forza Horizon 3, Project Cars 2 is another racing game taking advantage of the Xbox One X's power. Developed by Slightly Mad Games and first released in September 2017, this is a racing sim that prides itself on striking visuals and accurate simulation. Players will have a choice of three modes on Xbox One X: Enhanced Visuals, which will put the game in 1440p resolution while having shadow, track and vehicle details as high as possible; Enhanced Resolution will bump the game's resolution up to 3K; the final mode Enhanced Framerate will set the game's resolution to 1080p while ensuring the game maintains a smooth 60 frames per second. What are its enhancements? 4K and 60 FPS As the game is built on the same engine as Doom and already runs at 1080p and 60 PFS, the big difference with the Xbox One X version is that the game is brought up to a native resolution of 4K. Unfortunately, there's no HDR support as yet, but the game looks utterly sublime at 2160p. That the game's rock-solid 60fps is also maintained is especially impressive. A truly great example of what the Xbox One X is capable of. What are its enhancements? 4K, HDR, and 30 FPS What is it? Like Gears of War 4, this is an Xbox One exclusive that's been around for a while. Though it doesn't offer the same high frame rates that Motorsport 7 does, this game is sure to look fantastic in 4K with HDR. As well as a resolution bump, plenty of graphical improvements are promised with better visual effects and draw distances. The best thing is, if you already own it your enhanced patch will come free and the file size is a relatively manageable 670 MB. What are its enhancements? 4K and HDR Fans of Ubisoft's tactical co-operative shooter Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands are in for a treat with the game's Xbox One X update, as it brings a bevy of enhancements. First off, the game now renders at 1800p (which is then upscaled to 4K), and also offers high-dynamic-range support – all without sacrificing the game's rock-solid 30 FPS framerate. Further enhancements include an increased texture cache size (which is said to improve loading times by keeping more recent assets in memory), increased terrain details and texture resolutions, bigger draw distances and more. Quite frankly, the game has gone from being moderately good-looking to drop-dead gorgeous on Xbox One X. HDR is a particular highlight here – the game just looks so much sharper than before, with a noticeable uptick in vibrancy, especially in bright and sunny environments. Extremely impressive. What are its enhancements? 4K or 60 fps and HDR. What is it? The Witcher 3 is one of the older enhanced titles on this list but it still stands as one of the best. Believed by many to be the RPG to end all RPGs, this fantasy adventure will take you through incredible vistas and through thrilling adventures. Using the Xbox One X's power, CD Projekt Red has created two enhanced modes. One utilises 4K visuals and runs at a solid 30 frames per second, while the other uses dynamic resolution and promises a smooth 60 frame per second. Both modes will allow you to enjoy HDR - a technology that will truly shine in the game's dynamic world. What are its enhancements? 4K and HDR What is it? As one of the biggest games this year, it's natural that Destiny 2 appears on this list. With its original game, Bungie managed to create a huge triple-A success as well as a cult hit. Now, however, it's opening up to the masses and anyone that felt like they couldn't jump on the Destiny band wagon the first time shouldn't miss the opportunity to do so now. This huge online multiplayer shooter will reel you in with its universe, single-player story, satisfying gameplay and addictive online modes. In our full Destiny 2 review, we call Destiny 2 "the Destiny you know, and the Halo you used to love, all in one loot-filled package." If you're just getting started, it's also worth taking a peek at our handy tips and tricks guide which will allow you to hit the ground running. What are its enhancements? 4K, HDR, Dolby Atmos and 60 FPS The fourth entry in the Gears of War series already looked great on the original Xbox One, however, it looks damn-near astonishing when enhanced for the Xbox One X. Once patched, new advanced video options appear in the game’s settings which give the player control over every major area of its presentation. You can choose whether you want to place preference on detail (offering native 4K resolutions and textures at 30 frames per second) or performance (locked 60 frames per second and increased graphical detail). While the jump in detail is noticeable when playing the game at 4K, the performance mode looks nearly as good in terms of textures, with the added bonus of running at a buttery-smooth frame rate. And, while the Xbox One S already provided Gears of War 4 with HDR settings, they’ve received a boost here to work in conjunction with the game’s 4K rendering, allowing for its wider color gamut to be displayed in much greater detail. You’ll find a much-appreciated HDR brightness slider in the settings, and if you want to get a real picture of the difference between standard and high-dynamic-range, you can split the screen and see them both side-by-side while playing the game. Although it's a slightly older release, The Coalition has done a great job to turn Gears 4 into a poster child for what the Xbox One X is capable of. What are its enhancements? 4K and HDR Right from its opening chapter, which takes place during the D-Day invasion of Normandy, Call of Duty: WWII astonishes with its graphical presentation. We’ve all come to expect the Call of Duty series to provide 60 frames per second gameplay, regardless of platform, but when that framerate is used in conjunction with the Xbox One X’s 4K resolution boost and HDR functionality, the game takes on an extraordinary level of detail and visual clarity. The opening mission, which recreates the D-Day invasion of Normandy, feels more realistic because of the Xbox One X. Witness, for instance, the realistic textures of fabric on uniforms and realistic skin textures found on faces. Or how about the way the ocean sprays fine mist and water all over you as your landing craft crashes through the waves on your approach to the beach? The game’s steady framerate, incredibly high resolution and high-dynamic-range colors and lighting, gives the game an almost unnerving quality when played on Xbox One X. Like many other Xbox One X-enhanced games, Call of Duty: WWII has HDR sliders that allow you to tweak the game’s brightness and white balance to your liking – a much-appreciated addition that we hope carries over to all enhanced games going forward. Quite frankly, we want all games on the console to look this good. What are its enhancements? 4K, HDR, and 60 FPS Forza Motorsport 7 was Microsoft’s poster-child for the power of the Xbox One X and thus far it’s the game that’s received the most attention in terms of performance assessments. As a first-party title, the game's development team has been able to take full advantage of the Xbox One X’s power. The game’s patch promises 4K resolution at 60 frames per second with HDR support. Having played the Xbox One X-enhanced version of the game for several hours, we're still blown away by how good it looks and how smooth it runs. The game's One X enhancements are most noticeable in its various environments, which show exceptional definition. We pelted our Porsche 911 GT2 RS around the rocky desert hills of Dubai and were astounding by the level of detail found in the rock faces surrounding the track. Thanks to HDR, the sunlight hitting the track and our vehicle looked brighter than ever. The 4K resolution also allows developer Turn 10 Studios to recreate the cars and their interiors to an astonishing degree of detail. This is especially evident in cars with Alcantara upholstery (pictured) – the fuzziness of the suede-like synthetic material looks just like the real thing! It's not all about sunny weather, though – we also had the opportunity to race around the famous Nürburgring track in a Nissan GT-R during heavy downpour and were incredibly impressed with how realistic the rain and weather effects appeared. The combination of 4K, HDR and locked 60 frames per second brings with it some incredibly detailed and realistic visuals with crisp and responsive gameplay. Buckle up for a truly show-stopping Xbox One X demo disc in Forza Motorsport 7. Read our full Forza Motorsport 7 review What are its enhancements? 4K and HDR As you’d probably expect, Assassin’s Creed Origins uses the power of the Xbox One X to make some serious visual impact. The game renders at 4K (although those without 4K screens will still benefit from an oversampled 1080p resolution) and supports HDR, too. The high resolution support means that the game’s environments and characters are seriously detailed with highly realistic textures and the console’s CPU power means the quality is maintained from longer distances. However, It’s HDR that makes the game really shine, creating greater contrast between bright sunlight and flames and shadows. This adds real depth to the game world, capturing the blinding brightness of the Egyptian sun and making the shade of tombs feel mercifully cool. As with most Xbox One X-enhanced games that we’ve tested, Assassin’s Creed Origins has an HDR slider that allows you to manually adjust the game’s paper white balance level, as well as the television’s brightness nits. Having played several hours of the game on Xbox One X, we found the game to be visually impressive with wonderful textures and a remarkably consistent frame rate given everything that was happening on screen at once. Read all about it in our Assasins Creed Origins hub. What are its enhancements? 4K, HDR, 60FPS Having spent a significant amount of time with Rise of the Tomb Raider post-Xbox One X patch, it's safe to describe it as one of the prettiest games on the console. The updated game supports three modes, so you can tailor what exactly you want the console to prioritise with the game. High frame-rate has the game run at 1080p with enhanced textures, and upscaling to reach 4K. This mode is probably the least detailed of the three, but comes closest to maintaining a locked 60fps framerate. Native 4K mode, as the name suggests, prioritises rendering a full 4K’s worth of pixels, even if this involves bigger hits to framerate, which can make the game judder in its more intense scenes, even though the game is targeting a more modest 30fps. Finally, the ‘Enriched 4K’ mode strikes a nice balance between the two. It features a more advanced form of upscaling, so even though it’s not native 4K, it’s close enough that it still looks decent. In all three modes, the implementation of HDR was a treat. Light peeking into each tomb we explored had a fantastic brightness to it, while water had a fantastic level of glimmer and shine. Truly stunning. What are its enhancements? 4K and HDR Continuing the trend of giving users the option of how to use the X’s extra graphical horsepower, Shadow of War features two different graphical settings. You can either have the game favor resolution or favor quality. Choose to favor resolution, and the game will attempt to get as close to 4K as possible (falling back on dynamic scaling when this isn’t possible). Opt to favor quality and the improvements will be wider-ranging, but won’t bring the same benefits to resolution. Textures will see enhanced detail, draw distances will be improved, there’ll be more vegetation and shadows and lighting will be improved. Both modes will feature HDR, and will unfortunately only run at 30fps rather than the 60fps of some of the other titles on this list. Having played Shadow of War at a recent preview event, we came away impressed by the sheer detail offered by 4K, which really brought the large-scale battles to life. We’ll have to wait to see the final version of the patch to issue our definitive judgement. What are its enhancements? 4K, HDR, 60 FPS (coming soon) FIFA 18 is another big title that takes advantage of the Xbox One X’s 4K and HDR capabilities. Looking more realistic than ever before, the latest entry in the FIFA series displays at 4K on Xbox One X at smooth 60 frames per second and with HDR support thrown in for good measure. 4K resolution means even more detail and improved textures (you’ll pore over every blade of grass) but when it comes to fast-paced games like FIFA, it’s the consistent frame rate we’re looking forward to – a slight judder or dip in frame rate could be the difference between making and missing a goal. Add to this the expanded color gamut and improved lighting that HDR brings with it, and this beautiful game really comes to life, contrasting the bright sunlight against the shadows cast by the stadium to add greater depth. This is everything we know about FIFA 18. What are its enhancements? 4K and HDR What is it? You've probably heard of the JRPG phenomenon that is Final Fantasy and XV is its latest addition. The games are already stunning but we're looking forward to seeing what has been done with the Xbox One X's power here - the open world of Eos is sure to be a treat in 4K. What are its enhancements? 4K, HDR, 60 FPS Bungie might have left the Halo series to focus on Destiny, but the blockbuster Xbox series is still alive and well thanks to developer 343 Industries. The most recent entry, Halo 5: Guardians, was released back in 2015, but it will be receiving the Xbox One X treatment via a patch that’s available now. When patched for Xbox One X, the game will continue to run at 60fps as it did originally, but with the added bonus of a 4K resolution boost. Unfortunately, due to the age of the original release, the game won’t be receiving an HDR upgrade alongside its 4K one. Still, a native 2160p resolution and rock-solid 60 frames per second is nothing to be sneezed at. Expect this already beautiful game to look even more stunning when played on the Xbox One X. What are its enhancements? 4K and HDR The Xbox One X patch for Madden NFL 18 is not available just yet, but we already know what to expect: like the PS4 Pro version, this year’s Madden will display at a 4K resolution backed by HDR’s expanded color gamut. This will give the game razor sharp visuals with naturalistic lighting and eye-popping colors, particularly in uniforms and stadiums. On top of the 4K and HDR boost, Madden NFL 18 is expected to always run at a smooth 60 frames per second during plays on the field. The PS4 Pro version does this, though will drop to around 30 frames per second during replays and when sideline camera angles are used throughout the game’s broadcast-style presentation. Whether the Xbox One X version will be able to stick to 60 frames per second at all times is currently unknown, but we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as the patch is released. What are its enhancements? 4K, HDR and 60 FPS What is it? Minecraft is a game that needs no introduction, and its 'Super Duper Graphics Pack' is set to make its polygonal world the sharpest its ever looked. We got to have a look at the Xbox One X-enhanced version of the game and it was quite fun to see a more beautiful version of what is essentially a very simple looking game. While the game keeps its famous blocky appearance (we obviously wouldn't want that to change), it does receive vastly improved lighting thanks to the inclusion of HDR support. For instance, your creations can now be viewed with the added bonus of a glorious sunset. Colors also receive a boost, looking less flat in the process, and vegetation also looks more detailed than before. Still, you can rest assured that the Xbox One X version of the game doesn't mess with the winning formula too much – it simply makes it better. What are its enhancements? 1440p (upscaled to 4K) and HDR We hope you’ve got plenty of space on your hard drive, because the patches required to play the Xbox One X-enhanced version of Quantum Break, combined with the game install itself, will take up a staggering 178GB of your console’s storage. Welcome to gaming in the future! So what do the huge patches give you exactly? Well, since the game is incredibly demanding from a hardware perspective, even on high-end PCs, Quantum Break technically runs at true resolution of 1440p but is displayed as 2160p in its video settings. According to , the game makes use of a ‘temporal reconstruction’ technique that gives the illusion of 4K by cloning frames and using the information to make the resolution look much higher than it is. The original Xbox One version did the same thing, taking its native 720p resolution and applying the same technique to provide the illusion of 1080p. Aside from this, the game has received a texture boost, making its visuals look much crisper in the process. Funnily enough, the film grain effect seen in the standard Xbox One version of the game has been dropped entirely for the One X, giving Quantum Break much more depth and clarity in its presentation. It’s a shame that 60 frames per second is unavailable, but given the game’s cinematic styling based on film and television, it seems like developer Remedy would probably prefer it that way regardless. Either way, Quantum Break looks downright beautiful on Xbox One X. What are its enhancements? 4K, HDR, Dolby Atmos and 60 FPS What is it? The next addition to the Xbox exclusive chaotic franchise. Crackdown 3 was supposed to be a launch title for the Xbox One X but its been pushed back to Spring 2018 to make extra sure it's ready to meet those high running standards its promising. What are its enhancements? 4K, HDR and 30 FPS What is it? BioWare's new IP is a bit of a mystery at the moment but its already confirmed as an Xbox One X enhanced title. We know it's going to be a science-fiction game that leans down the fantasy vein like franchises such as Star Wars. You can read more about it here. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/digital-home/~4/0pOft-foc-E

With the unveiling of the Xbox One X, the Xbox One S has seen some impressive price drops and bundle deals with Microsoft going all out to pump up the pressure on its rivals. It was already often the cheapest console of the current generation, but with some of these savings on bundles and even Xbox One Controllers, the price seems right. At this point it's probably wiser to buy a bundle and score some wicked Xbox One games along with the unit, as some of them can come in cheaper than the standalone consoles themselves. Looking to buy in the US or UK? You'll want to head on over to our US page or UK page. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/534b82f7f9221c1632bf2b2d9cb8ac77.jpg Xbox One S dealsAt once more elegant and more powerful, the slimmed-down design of the Xbox One S ditches the external power brick and chunky looks of the original Xbox One. More importantly, it comes kitted out with 4K visual support meaning you'll be able to watch specialised Blu-Ray and Netflix content in 4K. At E3 2017, Microsoft officially unveiled what was formerly known as Project Scorpio — the Xbox One X. This is the full 4K HDR upgrade from Microsoft that fans of the original Xbox One consoles have been waiting for, not to mention newcomers to the platform. This is the place where we answer any questions you may have about what exactly the new Xbox One X is capable of – its specs, price, and release date have all been covered here – and ultimately, whether or not you should buy it. Often, the best place to order your console is from the Microsoft store directly for $649, as most retailers are offering it for that same RRP, but aren't likely to have as much stock as the company's own store. We'll also be keeping track of any deals and bundles that pop up, so be sure to come back and visit every now and then if you're waiting for a bargain — we're sure to have one if there is one to be had. And, of course, if you're wondering what to play on this new beast, we've had a thorough look at the best Xbox One X games available, and which ones will really shine with Microsoft's latest powerhouse. The best Xbox One X bundles:Xbox One X prices are constantly changing from store to store, making it hard to keep up at times. To take the pain out of scoping out the best Xbox One X prices, you should be able to find the best real-time deals listed below, updated live, along with some hand-picked options. Why should I buy an Xbox One X?While not technically a 'next-gen' console, the Xbox One X is still a powerful upgrade over the current Xbox One lineup. To simplify things, it's more aligned with Sony's PS4 Pro than it is anything else. The target audience of both consoles are gamers with a 4K HDR TV who want to squeeze the best graphical performance possible out of their favoured console. For those gamers without a 4K TV, there will be modest performance boosts although it's likely not worth the upgrade if you don't have a 4K HDR TV. We're told that the Xbox One X won't necessarily have any exclusive games released for it, and as far as we know all Xbox One titles will still work with it, so exclusivity and compatbility and reason enough alone to ditch your Xbox One S. The Xbox One X is making bold claims about true native 4K gaming though with its upcoming titles and if you have a 4K TV with High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology, the Xbox One X is ready to seriously impress with the likes of Forza Motorsport 7, Metro: Exodus and Anthem set to be true jaw-droppers in the graphics department. What is the Xbox One X price?Although it's steep, the price conversion from the US didn't hit us nearly as hard as it normally would. The Xbox One X will cost $649 in Australia while the US will pay $499. Where can I order an Xbox One X?As is to be expected, all the usual suspects in the gaming retail business have the console in stock, although each and every one is offering the new Xbox One X for the same price. With that in mind, you may as well order your console from The Microsoft Store for $649 as there's a better chance they'll have a bigger stock allocation, given it's the company's own store. What if I don't care about 4K or want to save money?Well, the good news is that the standard Xbox One S is a fantastic games console and you'll likely be able to get one with a few games for less than $300 over at our Xbox One deals page. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/digital-home/~4/ypdPkcLyORo

Stan's film and TV show library has grown by leaps and bounds since last December, driven in large part by the service becoming Disney's new home for streaming content in Australia, bringing a large number of Marvel, Pixar and Lucasfilm titles along with it. In addition to this, all 24 Bond films were recently made available to stream on Stan in 4K, giving the home-grown service a huge leg up in the blockbuster department. Of course, with great content comes great licensing fees, which is why it's perhaps unsurprising that Stan has announced a price hike for its Premium tier, bringing the monthly cost for 4K content up from $15 to $17 per month. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/sdjbXGXHHfHi95mPRQU3B9.jpg Image credit: Stan Is Stan worth your money? Stan's Standard plan will cost you $14 per month, providing three simultaneous high definition (1080p) streams and the ability to download shows and movies to a total of three devices at any given time. By comparison, the Premium plan offers four concurrent 4K streams and downloads to five phones or tablets. For existing Premium tier customers, the updated pricing scheme will kick off on April 30, 2019. In recent months, we’ve been learning more and more about what the OnePlus 7 could potentially look like and the features it may include, and with new leaked renders, we have an even better impression of this upcoming flagship handset. Oft-reliable leaker, @OnLeaks, has shared a number of very official looking renders (via Pricebaba) of what appears to be the imminent OnePlus flagship, as well as a 360-degree video showing it off in all its glory. As we’d previously predicted, the OnePlus 7 looks like it will have almost no bezels and get rid of the notch entirely, instead relegating the selfie camera to a small pop-up tab. The rear of the device sports three camera sensors and a flash, likely in order to handle depth-of-field and wide-angle effects. The handset’s other physical features remain largely unchanged from its predecessor (the OnePlus 6T), with a USB-C port, single down-firing speaker, volume rocker, power button and alert slider. As we have previously learned, the OnePlus 7 was the first phone to be confirmed to have 5G capabilities, thanks to its Qualcomm SnapDragon 855 chipset, although it likely won’t be featuring wireless charging. OnePlus 7 probably won't have wireless chargingWhat we've learned about the OnePlus 7 from the OnePlus 5G prototypeThere is little else known for certain about the OnePlus 7, but rumors are pointing toward a 6.5-inch display with a 21:9 aspect ratio and a resolution that moves up from the company’s love of Full HD (hopefully to QHD or higher). It’s also unlikely that the 8GB of RAM found in its predecessor will be downgraded, and the battery is probably going to have to be increased to cope with the new processing and display demands. Unfortunately, all this points to a flagship phone that will cost considerably more than OnePlus has traditionally sold its handsets for, but we’ll have to wait for the official announcement for all to be revealed. Rumors surrounding the launch date for Apple's AirPods 2 have been coming in so thick and fast that it’s been hard to keep up with them all. The latest suggests that it could hit shelves as early as March 29, just days after Apple is rumored to announce its subscription news service. The launch date isn’t the only rumor making the rounds, though. XDA writer and TV host Max Weinbach has revealed a few more interesting tidbits on Twitter, the most significant being that Apple’s true wireless headphones will reportedly charge from empty to full juice in just 15 minutes. If this is true, it will be a huge improvement over the current AirPods’ three-hour playback from a 15-minute charge. iPad Pro 2018 vs iPad Pro 2017These are the best true wireless earbuds available nowSamsung's alternative: check out our hands-on Samsung Galaxy Buds reviewA new ear-feel?The addition of super-fast wireless charging will, however, change the design of the case itself. It will require more Qi coils, meaning the case – which will work with the first-generation AirPods – is likely to become bigger (in one direction, according to Weinbach) and heavier. While the change in size could well be marginal, it will likely be noticeable. Weinbach also makes mention of a different coating for Airpods 2, which will be similar to the matte finish of the Apple Pencil. A 15-minute super-fast charge over wireless definitely seems possible, at least in theory, but Weinbach hasn’t always been the most accurate source of Apple leaks, so it might be best take this news with a pinch of salt. We knew it was coming, but now users can finally access the long-awaited 'dark mode' in Facebook's Messenger app for Android and iOS, with the feature arriving as a fun Easter egg for those who follow a few simple steps, as noted on Reddit. Messenger's dark mode was made available to select users in certain countries late last year as part of the feature's early testing phase. Now, it's available to everyone who has the latest version of the app installed on their devices. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/trvCFebtZqP27d4zRPZiuC.jpg Image credit: TechRadar Facebook Messenger has introduced new 'delete sent messages' featureHow to enable dark mode on Chrome for Windows 10 right nowFacebook is integrating WhatsApp, Instagram and MessengerTo unlock dark mode in Messenger, you must first send a message to someone you know (or even yourself) that consists solely of a crescent-shaped moon emoji (the one that looks like this: ☽). Once you've done that, several moon emoji will rain down over your conversation screen, letting you know that the feature has been unlocked and can be toggled on or off within the app's settings menu. Some users have reported instances of a pop-up window that will inform you of the new feature, though that didn't happen in our experience. If you do receive the pop-up without the raining emoji, double-tap the message or restart the app. How to delete Facebookhttp://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/digital-home/~4/mqvVq2guyKI

Why are 5G phones even being unveiled already? It feels like it's barely months since 4G networks launched... so why are we even talking about selling 5G handsets already? Why did we see multiple phones being announced at MWC this year packing the new technology on board? I'm certainly not against the idea of 5G coming into the smartphone world... and wider. It's genuinely going to be a revolution. It’s going to allow multiple sensors to be connected together on a network at once – this is going to have a huge effect on things like large factories, where multiple elements can be monitored to bring large-scale efficiencies. That might sound dull, but it's game-changing stuff to businesses. Driverless cars will be able to be connected and controlled with almost zero lag, so pinpoint corrections can be made from the cloud. Gaming on the go will be possible, as you'll be able to connect to a console-quality server and stream games to your phone. Heck, even your pets will no longer go missing when they’ve got a 5G chip around their neck. But the 5G network has barely begun (there are limited trials or very small rollouts in key areas of Asia and the US), and yet Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy S10 5G and a 5G variant of the Galaxy Fold, the Huawei Mate X is 5G ready, the LG V50 is 5G-enabled, Xaomi has rebooted its Mi Mix 3 as a cheap 5G model, and ZTE has also gotten in on the act. So why are brands launching phones that support 5G already, when it costs more and needs bigger batteries to support the technology? The revolution is cominghttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/5KDXvAhJXZL7tPZCm9PWbE.jpg "[5G] is around the corner," John Chan, product PR lead for Xiaomi, told TechRadar. "So the key thing for us is making technology accessible to everyone. "When 5G comes out [owning a 5G phone means] you are right on it, there’s no barrier to the 5G era from your phone – that’s the vision we have. We want to provide the tools and the innovation needed." When quizzed about whether it was more of a marketing strategy to have a 5G phone out before the networks are deployed, Chan admitted that it does have a certain value for brands. "You could say that it does have a [marketing] effect, proving to people that we are able to make a 5G phone – and we want to be able to provide people with that device," he added. What we've learned about the OnePlus 7 from the OnePlus 5G prototype Sony was one of the biggest brands not to bring out a 5G phone at the conference, although it did have a concept device on show, a move mirrored by OnePlus on the Qualcomm stand. Mitsuya Kishida, President of Sony Mobile told TechRadar that Sony was intending to have a device on the market when the 5G wave begins in earnest, and was working closely with partners to bring it to market, but added that it didn't see the point in having a model available just now. "Obviously, we are heavily cooperating with our partners to develop for 5G, and depending on the country and the customers need we will introduce the 5G model accordingly," he told us. "It will be a separate model and depend on the country, again. How to introduce the solution is going to be different for our customers." http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/aXcrAromYJBWcXtoT7eKtW.jpg The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is coming in a 5G variant this year 2019 is going to be the year that 5G really begins to rollout around the world, so you can understand that a few phones might be landing onto the market... after all, there's no point in the likes of Verizon in the US, or EE in the UK, bringing out these faster networks without phones to sell it on. These carriers also going to be pressing the manufacturers to bring out high-end, feature-rich smartphones to entice conusumers to make the jump to 5G. But as Chan from Xiaomi proved, it's as much a show of technical clout as anything else for these brands to unveil a 5G smartphone, a marketing punch that confirms their status as innovative. Even though these phones exist, they're unlikely to be available everywhere - there are multiple, different 5G technologies being deployed around the world so each model of phone will need to connect to all of them if they're to be a global release. At what cost?http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/Hsm9pzaJLa9tcw3k5kD4gF.png Samsung is going early with its 5G variant of the S10. We know that 5G plans are going to cost a little more at the start (both on contract and SIM free), as networks look to recoup the cost of deploying the 5G connections around the world and brands need to add in more advanced, experiensve modems and bigger batteries. The handsets are set to be pricey too, with the cheapest price we’ve heard about so far being €599 (around $680 / £515 / AU$1,000) for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 5G. Other phones will easily crest the $2,000 mark, such as the Huawei Mate X, and we’re not even sure of the price of the Samsung Galaxy Fold, Galaxy S10 5G or the LG V50 5G. Such a high price might not entice many consumers at the start, as many will feel that the broadband-like speeds they’re getting with 4G are good enough… but there’s another key element of 5G that will change the experience you get from your phone. The thing that seems to have gone under the radar is the fact that, on 5G, more connections can be handled at once. So you'll find, for example, that at a gig or a large sporting event you won't have to sit there and wait for everyone else to go home before you can finally check an email or catch up on Instagram. It'll mean less time spent staring at a loading screen, wondering why a connection isn't there. That may not be something that makes it worth spending several hundred more dollars or pounds on a new phone right now, but don't dismiss 5G as just an expensive, faster extra that won't bring any other benefits. It's coming quickly, and whether the brands just want to show off their technical expertise or genuinely want to make sure everyone can get online as soon as possible, 5G is still only going to be soft-launched this year... and it's great that we're getting some half-decent phones to begin with. The screen tech behind the Samsung Galaxy Fold is certainly innovative and likely to help influence the future of phones, along with similar devices like the Huawei Mate X. Now it seems Samsung wants to supply folding screens to Apple and Google as well. As per a report in ETNews, Samsung has already provided samples to Apple and Google with a view to helping them get their own foldable phones into mass production. This isn't completely unprecedented of course – Samsung is one of the companies that supplies display panels for the iPhone, so it's already both a partner with and a competitor to Apple. Google Duo is hitting the webApple's next products will "blow you away"Here's our review of the Galaxy S10 PlusIf the rumor is true then it might mean we see a foldable handset from Apple or Google sooner than we otherwise would. Apparently Samsung is also in touch with Huawei and Oppo about folding screens. Bend it like SamsungFor a while now we've been seeing hints that Apple is at least thinking about a foldable iPhone – earlier this week an Apple patent showed off what such a device might look like. While there's little indication that the Google Pixel 4 would end up being a foldable phone, it's something the company's hardware division might want to look into exploring in the future. According to the ETNews report, Samsung is geared up to make 2.4 million folding panels a year at the moment, and could up that to 10 million if the demand is there. So far we've been impressed with what we've seen with the foldable phone revolution, and it looks like there are plenty more handsets on the way to look forward to. If you're still using the Microsoft Band fitness tracker, make the most of it – Microsoft is pulling support for the neglected wearable, including user data and the dashboard, on May 31 this year. This won't come as a huge surprise considering the writing has been on the wall for years, but we now have a fixed date when Microsoft Bands will no longer function. The first Microsoft Band broke cover in 2014. It was followed by a sequel a couple of years later, but not long after that, Microsoft announced it wouldn't be releasing any more of the fitness trackers in the future. You can't buy Fitbit's latest trackerThe Apple Watch tops smartwatch salesWe didn't see any fitness bands at MWC 2019Support for existing Bands and the software underpinning them carried on, until now. Any questions?Microsoft has also published a FAQ to answer any questions you might have about the official death of Microsoft Band and the associated software. "Microsoft Band device users can continue to use their devices, though web connected features will not be available," explains Microsoft. That means you'll be stuck with on-board functions for tracking steps and sleep, and setting alarms. Once you reset your Microsoft Band, you won't be able to use it again. There is a silver lining though: If you've synced data since December, you might be eligible for a refund. Check the FAQ for details. MWC is in full swing, and there have been a slew of great announcements from the show. Huawei’s presence at the show was certainly in full force, and the company made some great reveals during their keynote as well as at their booth. Here are five things that we spotted at Huawei’s MWC booth that’s worth talking about: http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/pAmkfXyYZtTUu3XqMtiuxX.jpg Mate XHuawei’s flagship announcement at MWC was the Mate X, and it absolutely blew us away. The sleek design, and massive 8” screen you get when you unfold it, and the futuristic look and feel of the device is enough to get people talking. While we’re yet to know a confirmed release date for the Mate X, it’s a great indication of where phone technology is heading, as users crave the flexibility of having a large screen for media consumption, and a regular-sized screen for everyday use. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/zhSUE4YE2fCDMwBP74w43L.jpg A strong push to 5G5G was everywhere at MWC, but Huawei were leading the pack with several announcements at their booth. Not only did they showcase the 5G-enabled Mate X, but the company also signed up various new partnerships to deploy 5G hardware across various countries and scenarios. It also introduced the Huawei 5G CPE Pro, which supports both 4G and 5G wireless connections, and allows a 1GB download to complete in under three seconds on 5G. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/6Fxti5mn76aMXSQFwfLoLi.jpeg MateBook X ProIf you’re in the market for a sleek laptop with powerful internals, then the updated MateBook X Pro is a great choice. The massive 91% screen-to-body ratio is gorgeous to stare at, and if you’re concerned about privacy, Huawei have cleverly hidden the webcam under a button on the keyboard, so you can quickly pop it up only when you need it. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/sqx6mZtkooLYW9imdXqECn.jpg MateBook 14With no shortage of ports and an equally attractive design, the MateBook 14 is another excellent laptop to consider if you’re looking for a laptop upgrade this year. The touchscreen supports the same proprietary, touch-based cut-and-paste tool that the MateBook X Pro does, which could make sharing screen shots and other content a little easier. It’s powered by either an Intel i5 or i7 processor, with the latter coming with more memory and dedicated Nvidia MX 250 graphics. A fingerprint reader embedded in the power button also makes it easy to log in without fumbling over passwords. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/g4Z6kKpACSX2SyWb47m6A7.jpg MateBook 13Another laptop that Huawei unveiled was the MateBook 13, which packs plenty of power and performance. Powered by up to the 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8565U processor and NVIDIA GeForce MX150 GPU, its improved cooling performance helps the notebook stay cool and silent even when running intensive processes. The laptop features a 3:2 FullView display with 10-point multi-touch option and a screen-to-body ratio of 88 percent. As with Huawei’s other laptops, the MateBook 13 features Huawei Share 3.0, which allows quick transfer of files and text between a PC and the smartphone. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/digital-home/~4/47AKjIXs-y4

I’m sitting on the plane back from Barcelona, having just finished another marathon effort of walking around a conference center looking at new phones and the things they can do. This is my 11th consecutive trip to Mobile World Congress, and this was one of the weirdest ones yet – and it was also oddly refreshing. The two main topics – foldable phones and 5G – were brought up in nearly every press conference or corporate slogan in one form or another. And yet there was an air of difference - a quieter schedule, in some ways, that allowed some key new innovations to take center stage. A quieter beginningMWC started in a more sedate fashion this year. At previous shows we’ve had umpteen launches from major brands packed into a crazy first couple of days, followed by a mad rush to try out all the new things launched. This year, Sunday (the normal press conference day) felt far more measured, and there were only a few announcements on Monday morning. The main reason for this was Samsung. The brand has an on/off relationship with MWC when it comes to device launches, and this year it decided to do its own thing the week before the expo kicked off, which gave the competition more choice in press conference times. Samsung's launch was around the new Galaxy S10 range, but it unveiled eight new products without having to share the spotlight with other manufacturers (those launched included the bendable Samsung Galaxy Fold that got the tech industry under the collar about this new product category). http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/M4qMXqiPB9XFwzViQysEMd.png Image credit: Samsung With no Galaxy S product launch to steer clear of (no sane brand would launch a device at the same time as Samsung, for fear of nobody turning up) there was a lot more time and space for the other brands to spread their press conferences out. One such company was Huawei, which arguably ‘won’ MWC with the flexible, 5G-enabled Mate X phone (and it took our Best in Show title in the annual TechRadar MWC awards). If the Galaxy Fold got us all a-flutter, the Huawei Mate X generated real anticipation for the new smartphone form factor. The difference between the Mate X and Galaxy Fold is that the latter was trapped behind a glass cabinet, where we actually got to touch the Mate X, and experience what genuinely felt like the beginning of a new wave in the smartphone revolution. It even features an as-yet unused camera that the brand is holding back – likely to do with the fact the we'll see something similar on the forthcoming Huawei P30. The presence of those two phones, combined with concept devices from the likes of TCL and Energizer, showed that the foldable wave is very much on the way. A more normal launchOther brands weren’t so avant garde, with Sony ‘only’ launching a raft of new smartphones, including the Sony Xperia 1 and Xperia 10 with a hyper-long display featuring a cinematic 21:9 aspect ratio. I reviewed the LG BL40 Chocolate phone a decade ago with the same kind of long display (this was before LG really got into smartphones) and dismissed it as a luxury, novelty device, so it will be interesting to see if Sony can change that perception. The same brand also showed off a 5G prototype phone, but told us that it wasn't going to start riding the next-gen connectivity wave until the networks actually began switching them on. The idea of a long, 21:9 screen (in the same ratio many top films are shot in) is an interesting one - Sony believes enough people are watching full-length movies on their phone these days to warrant bringing out a phone that almost exclusively caters for them. The handset also featured a cinematography professional mode, allowing 'content creators' to shoot better footage on the go... this is a bold move from Sony, targeting more of a niche of the market, so it will be interesting to see if it pays off. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/6453zBu8J4WkkmKCNne9qW.jpg The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 (Image credit: TechRadar) Xiaomi’s presence was elevated this year at MWC, with a more prominent display in the main hall of the show. It presented a global version of the Xiaomi Mi 9 phone it launched last week in China, as well as a 5G variant of last year’s Mi Mix 3 – hardly earth-shattering stuff though, and there was no sign of the foldable concept phone it showed off last month. That said, the launch was still a momentous shift in strategy Xiaomi, as the global unveiling of the Mi 9 was the first time it had brought a worldwide device to MWC – in the past it’s preferred to concentrate on places like China and India, where it’s traditionally been strongest. If Xiaomi becomes a global player – and with low prices, underpinned by a promise to never make more than 5% profit on the hardware it sells, it could well become just that – then we could see a real competitor to the incumbents emerge. Waving, not drowningIn terms of the usual suspects from years gone by, LG launched with one of the biggest fanfares, although while the LG G8 and LG V50 5G were on show they lacked a really useful headline feature. The G8 certainly had something to talk about – the ability to use the veins in your hand to unlock your phone, called Hand ID, and a Microsoft Kinect-style camera that could track your palm in real time (Air Motion), allowing you to control the phone using gestures. The thing is, these aren’t really features that consumers are looking for – they seem more like novelties that might get forgotten about pretty quickly after purchase. The G8 has all the elements of being a really rather decent phone, as LG has always brought decent cameras, screen and battery life to the mix with its flagship devices; if the main selling point is being able to waggle a hand to unlock your device, then it could be a hard sell… but we’ll reserve judgement until our final review. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/y8LU627E9aK2iuQojW5PJ3.jpg Hand ID was hit and miss in our tests. (Image credit: TechRadar) The V50 5G is an interesting phone – not because of the handset itself, but because you'll be able to buy a DualScreen attachment that doubles the displays on the handset. This is designed to allow users to make the most use of the fancy 5G connections that are on their way, and is also LG's rebuttal to the expensive foldable phones. It doesn't quite offer the same seamless experience. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/hQentHfHdsQChiMbiKnUEX.jpg Two screens... better than one? Image credit: TechRadar That said, the combination of the V50 and the DualScreen is going to cost a lot less than a foldable phone, and does offer the chance to do things like watch a YouTube video and comment at the same time – something Huawei highlighted as it extolled to us the virtues of having a foldable phone with a massive screen. A more mature NokiaNokia phones were back at MWC for the third year after the brand was reincarnated by HMD Global, but this was the first year that we didn’t see a rebooted ‘classic’ phone, after the iconic Nokia 3310 and 8110 both reappeared in the last 24 months. Instead, we got a more 'regular' launch, with a few new smartphones, the most interesting of which was the Nokia 9 Pureview, a phone with five cameras. The 'penta-sensor' design doesn't even use the same multi-format cameras that the other brands are offering, where they’re shoving in a wide-angle, zoom and standard lens on the back of their handsets. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/9enpLr9wZqKy7JxZTgkHtf.jpg Is five cameras too many? (Image credit: TechRadar) Instead, you’ve got RGB and monochrome snappers, and all five images are snapped at the same time, then combined to bring a more impressive picture at the end. Nokia told us that this was a feature its fans had been clamoring for since it returned to the smartphone game, and that the 9 Pureview is following in the footsteps of the Nokia 808 Pureview and Lumia 1020 – we’re looking forward to seeing how that claim holds up in our full review. OnePlus was a cryptic brand at MWC this year – it was technically at the show with a much-shielded, concept phone on the Qualcomm stand, to show off its 5G capabilities – but we didn’t see anything on the much-vaunted OnePlus 7, due to be coming later this year. Our senior phones editor, John McCann, found some interesting clues about the upcoming OnePlus 7 after investigating the concept device though, so we’re a little more in the know a out what’s coming down the line. What we’ve learned about the OnePlus 7 from its 5G prototype And a big clap to Nubia for showing off the Nubia Alpha at MWC this year – a wearable and phone combined into a weird curved-screen bracelet. It’s got cameras, a funky interface, and a very blinged-up option… it’s not going to spark a new category of wearables, but it was certainly novel. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/5mTEjy5vieyRJNcceQB8WS.jpg Image credit: TechRadar While it's technically a foldable phone, it's not the same bendable display as we've seen from Samsung or Huawei - and it's got its own wearable OS, rather than a recognized platform. Will it be a real success? It's hard to say until we get the chance to try it out properly, as alternative operating systems can be a bit hit or miss... but at least it's fun to see different things emerging, and that really was rather the theme of this year's MWC in Barcelona. MWC (Mobile World Congress) is the world's largest showcase for the mobile industry, stuffed full of the newest phones, tablets, wearables and more. The Tokyo Marathon is one of the largest marathons in the world and since 2013, the iconic race through the heart of downtown Tokyo, has been included as one of the six World Marathon Majors. If that's tickled your endurance-racing fancy and want to watch the race, then you're in the right place to discover how to get a 2019 Tokyo Marathon live stream regardless of where in the world you are. The Tokyo Marathon is also one of the hardest marathons to enter as it is generally oversubscribed by a ratio in excess of 10-1 with 331,211 applicants trying to earn a spot in 2019. Athletes from Kenya have dominated eight of the 12 editions of the modern Tokyo Marathon with their main rivals, Ethiopia, winning three races. Dickson Chumba from Kenya is the only man to have won the title twice and he also became the first man to run the race in under two hours and six minutes - a record since surpassed two years ago by fellow countryman Wilson Kipsang. However, this year national record holder Suguru Osako will be running in the Tokyo Marathon. The Japanese national, who is based in the US, will certainly be one to watch in this year's race. On the women's side, Ethiopia has had the best of the last dozen years and reigning champion Birhane Dibaba has won it twice of the nation's five wins, but Ruti Aga - who has had three consecutive runner-up finishes - will be desperate to make the title hers. The 2019 race isn't being widely televised around the world and that's why we're here to help you - we’ll show you how to watch a Tokyo Marathon live stream from anywhere in the world. Also check out our Champions League live stream guidehttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/VgyagGS9HpAEPUQtUJBfrg.jpg http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/22eTAn9EdQaFVqiHidLqc3.png How to watch the 2019 Tokyo Marathon: Japan live streamIf you live in Japan and would prefer to catch the Tokyo Marathon from the comfort of your couch as opposed to outside in the cold Tokyo streets, the Nippon Television Network Corporation will show the race in its entirety from 9.10am JST. Broadcasters geo-block coverage. But by using a VPN and changing your IP address back to your home country, you'll discover that it's possible to instrument that hurdle - assuming of course you're not breaching the service's Ts&Cs. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/x4WvmjGdnEUCFeqhMUrnWo.jpg How to watch a 2019 Tokyo Marathon live stream in the USIf you’re in the US and want to watch this year’s Tokyo Marathon, then you’re in luck as you have several ways to watch the event. How would you feel about picking up your weekly groceries from a physical Amazon store in the future? The tech giant already owns Whole Foods in the US but is now being tipped to open its own line of stores, perhaps as early as this year. The report comes from "people familiar with the matter" speaking to the Wall Street Journal, so don't take it as a given just yet – but the WSJ does have a solid record when it comes to these sort of scoops. Apparently the new stores will differ from Whole Foods by stocking a different mix of products at lower price points, including groceries and health and beauty products. A pick up service will be available too. The weirdest tech out of MWC 2019More privacy problems for FacebookTesla Model 3s are dropping in priceAccording to the WSJ, the first store could open in LA before the end of this year, with more locations following – San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, Washington DC and Philadelphia are the other US cities that have been mooted. Don't stop shoppingThe WSJ report also reveals that the sites would be around half the size of a standard grocery store in the US, and that Amazon might consider acquiring another company to help build up the number of stores. It's not clear whether the initiative will expand to other countries at the moment, or if the proposed stores are going to carry Amazon branding. The company has already experimented with a few Amazon Go automated convenience stores already. Whether or not we'll see the same kind of automated checkout system that the Amazon Go stores use in these new grocery locations is also something that remains to be seen. All we know for sure is that Amazon is keen to sell you as much stuff as it possibly can. As is the norm, Amazon has refused to comment on the report, except to say it doesn't comment on rumors or speculation. Watch this space for some Amazon grocery spaces appearing in the next few months. If you were worrying that Apple is running out of steam in the innovation department, CEO Tim Cook has got news for you: the company is working on new products ready to "blow you away", Cook has told investors at Apple's annual general meeting. As Bloomberg reports, Cook also said Apple is in the process of "planting seeds" and "rolling the dice" on products launching at some point in the future – though unfortunately he didn't give a lot of detail about what those products were. The Apple chief did say that some "fantastic" products related to the Apple Watch and AirPods were in the pipeline, while also promising that the Apple Watch is going to continue to get more health-related features over time (like sleep tracking, maybe). AirPods 2 could be around the cornerFolding iPhones might soon be a realityApple Watch sales are holding strongAt the meeting Cook also revealed that Apple is working on lowering the price of the latest MacBook Air model, giving potential laptop buyers a more affordable way in to the MacBook Air range. What happens next? With Cook stopping short of naming specific products that Apple is working on, it's up to us to fill in the blanks. Could he be talking about the long-rumored augmented reality glasses that would pick up where Google Glass left off? Or was Cook in fact referring to a self-driving car fully designed and built by Apple? The company seems to be working on some kind of autonomous technology, even if it's more on the software than the hardware side. A new venture that we're certain is about to be launched is an Apple video streaming service, intended to take on the likes of Netflix and Hulu. It could even be bundled with other subscriptions for news and games. On the more predictable front, Apple is of course working on refreshes for all its product lines, from AirPods to iPads – expect to see a lot of new devices from the company in 2019, even if their capacity to blow us away remains to be seen. Here's everything we want to see from the Apple Watch 5http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/digital-home/~4/Aaudx2S92lA
