Dragonji
Hello there My Idea is to make more configurable system for killing sprees and multi kills in the silEnT mod.I wonder there is a separated config file for this, so server admins can change messages by their own, disable some announces (like double kill which is distracting when repeated x times per minute) or change their showing (eg. double kill notification would be showed only to the killer), so people don't have to use external scripts such as kspree.lua when they want to personalize something a little more What do you think? =EMP=Avery13
I'm thinking that would be nice. To be honest, I didn't even notice that the double kill was heard by all players. I guess I should play on more silent servers that have more then 2 or 3 people playing lol
Management gaoesa Posted October 28, 2011 Management Share Posted October 28, 2011 The kspree.lua works perfectly for customising the servers if server admins want to do that. Players can already disable the announcements they don't like by theselves and admins can select to not enable certain announcements. Making client configurations more flexible would be possible, i.e. disabling multikills below some certain level. But for now we are not going to replicate the Lua option inside the core mod only to make it less flexible. The inbuilt system is similar to major mods including Jaymod and NQ but little bit more flexible for the players. I'm a little bit against the Lua system in general because it lacks the client options to disable many announcements. Personally I don't want to hear any multikill messages while some other players can like them. With client side options it is more easy for me to play on servers I don't play often. Dragonji
Well, you could consider this idea again since more configurable sprees/multikills on server side are always better than 3rd party Luas which aren't configurable on client side. Installing a Lua just to customize messages is not good. I know this was removed due to problems but there should be some way to code properly Just my 2 cents. Management gaoesa Posted August 5, 2012 Management Share Posted August 5, 2012 It was removed also so that players can disable/configure the messages if they want to. Which is something the Lua can not do so there is a reason to look into it. However, it is not a high priority at the moment.

Dragonji
Bumping. It was removed also so that players can disable/configure the messages if they want to.At the moment players can only change the position of messages or disable them at all (both texts and sounds). Would be nicer if players would be able to disable sounds only w/o a need to disable text messages (separated cvar for spree/multikill sounds?). I'd like to see a separated config file for this, so server admins can change messages on their own, disable some unwanted announcements (like double kill which is distracting when repeated x times per minute) or change their showing (eg. double kill notification would be showed only to the killer), so administrators don't have to use external scripts such as kspree.lua when they want to personalize something a little more Edited June 22, 2013 by Dragonji
