What is it? - A day of connecting to a different server and having fun with the different settings then the normal everyday settings you may be use to.
When? - Saturday November 12. 4PM EST
Where? - **DRC**silEnT Fun 87.106.138.234:27960
Why should I play? - To have fun with other players then the normal everyday people you are use to.
New settings that you will notice:
Gametype: Map Vote Cycle - At the end of the map, you will get to vote for the map you want to happen next. Most votes gets played.
Medics:
-> Poison Needles
-> Heal with just syringe, instead of the normal "TK to Heal". Now there is no need to TK and then die before you heal them!
-> Med packs will drop when you die according to how much you could have given out.
Engineers:
-> Sudden Death Dynamite. 29 seconds left? Who cares? If you plant, the map will continue until it is defused or blown up.
-> New PPSH Gun
Field Ops:
-> Air strikes can be blocked by any player by standing over it.
-> Ammo packs will drop when you die according to how much you could have given out.
Soldiers:
-> Panzers can be blown in midair by shooting them.
Coverts:
-> Don't lose uniform as easy by shooting guns. "Kill the covey! or you are screwed!"
Other settings:
-> Smoke/grenade kicking. Player to kick it gets credit it for it after.
-> Double Jump enabled
-> Unlimited ammo/health cabinet
-> Pick up ANY GUN on the ground (haven't tested soldier weapons)
-> IP/GUID spoof kick

cg_damagekick was added in last release in .9.1 or so and I didn't see many admins requesting that on ETPub forums either. It my memory serves right, it was added by Quad IIRC.
More or less we are not aiming towards how many servers in top 50 will use our mod or not but we are aiming towards what we can give best to ET admins to moderate their server nicely and players should enjoy playing ET at the end of the day.
Now as per your reason of combating against cheaters, I would just suggest to ban them rather then allowing them to play on your servers. For that actually we have added new ban features.
Also, I don't recall any other mod having damagekick feature either except ETPub 0.9.1

You are free to use any mod you like. The decision to remove it was collective and it is not coming back without arguments why it should exist in the first place. Yes, I do not understand the need for it and I have never felt it made the game more enjoyable for me. Also, I don't understand why the serverside aimbot in the ETPub was made, which was also removed by collective decision. You might say it is a feature that helps to fight against aimbots. But then again, "I don't see the light".
With that said, ETPub is a fine repository of different techniques, but that does not mean every mod should utilise them all just because they are there. At least silEnT mod is not about these nonconvential features.

Enhanced Hardware Based Identification system. g_identOptions 16. The server will automatically create a new ban for a player that is circumventing old ban and the client identification catches it.
Subnet ban feature to replace pb_sv_banmask.
Performance enhancements.
Ban numbers are printed in the outputs of !userinfo, !userlist and !usersearch commands, if the player is banned.

For those of you who have problems with or are not aware of the new UI that 0.4.0rc1 version of the silEnT mod introduced here is the description of what to do or not to do
First of all, there are 2 files in the ui folder (the folder which contains the .menu files):
menudef.h menumacros.h
These files have to be exactly the same as they are in the silEnT release. Do not modify or replace them, otherwise the new UI might not work as it should. I write this, because sometimes the server admins provide their own menus along with these files.

I know this is something that jaymod has had for a long time now, and I don't want it to sound like silent is turning into jaymod, but it helps. Can we get it to when typing in commands, you only have to type in part of the command instead of the whole thing? It took me a few tries before I remembered to type in !putteam all the way out. I was typing !put. And also commands like !listplayers. People are getting confused with !list or just a simple !li.
Is it possible? Do you guys like it, or are you trying to stay away from it?

If the lua is problematic, use the built-in spree/multikill system
Everything in in the docs.
First off, set the right value for g_spreeOptions in your server config:
g_spreeOptions Description Options to control the display of killingsprees. Parameters Type: bitmask 1 Enable killingsprees 2 Enable killingspree ends 4 Enable multikills 8 When set, a top 3 current killing sprees message will be printed every minute, similar to binoc masters, and a map's longest killing spree will be printed every two minutes 16 At the beginning of the intermission the highest spree and the 3 highest sprees which are still active will be shown 32 /kill will end a spree 64 Teamswitching will end a spree 128 Multikill messages will be delayed g_multikillTime milliseconds, to prevent the doublekill -> multikill -> megakill -> etc. flooding 256 Killing bots doesn't count for multikills or killingsprees (Note: they DO count for ending kill/deathsprees) 512 Display the map and overall spree record when entering intmission 1024 Summary: don't enable this flag if you don't have enabled g_spreeOptions flag 512 OR g_XPSave flag 16 or Shrubbot flag t Spree records are automatically saved into XPSave file when a map ends. By enabling this flag, you also store the spreerecord at the points where g_XPSave flag 16 would store XP. When you don't have set XPSave flag 16 and g_spreeOptions flag 512 and not allow users to use !spreerecord you should NOT set this flag as it takes some extra resources. When XPSave flag 16 is set this doesn't matter (it actually takes much less resources then). When only g_spreeOptions flag 512 or shrubbot flag t is set it won't do much harm anyway (your server won't explode) 2048 Enable revivesprees ([revive] blocks) Default: 0
Then make a *.pk3 file with right filenames of sounds:
Announcement Sounds When announcements are enbaled on the server, the server admins may choose to install their own announcement sounds to replace the mod default ones or add missing sounds. Any of the following sounds can be installed by the admins: Killing Spree sound/announces/spree5.wav Rampage sound/announces/spree10.wav Dominating sound/announces/spree15.wav Unstoppable sound/announces/spree20.wav Godlike sound/announces/spree25.wav Wicked Sick sound/announces/spree30.wav Double Kill sound/announces/doublekill.wav Triple Kill sound/announces/triplekill.wav Multi Kill sound/announces/multikill.wav Ultra Kill sound/announces/ultrakill.wav Monster Kill sound/announces/monsterkill.wav First Blood sound/silent/firstblood.wav To replace any of the sounds, create a pk3 file with the mentioned path and sound file name. The replaced sound will be automatically played. The pk3 files are regular zips with only the zip ending changed with pk3.
Last step - upload your package to the silent folder on your server and restart the machine to make sure it will load new settings. Voilà!

Google will no longer allow users to have private Google profiles after July 31st, reports Search Engine Land. The company had previously allowed users to create and maintain profiles on its service without publicly disclosing their existence.
Google is making the change primarily to aid in the growth of its new Google+ social network. This change means that you must have at least your full name and gender shown publicly to join Google+.
Google updated its public profiles page some time ago, as we commented on, to notify users of this upcoming change, stating:

The purpose of Google Profiles is to enable you to manage your online identity. Today, nearly all Google Profiles are public. We believe that using Google Profiles to help people find and connect with you online is how the product is best used. Private profiles don’t allow this, so we have decided to require all profiles to be public.
Keep in mind that your full name and gender are the only required information that will be displayed on your profile; you’ll be able to edit or remove any other information that you don’t want to share.
If you currently have a private profile but you do not wish to make your profile public, you can delete your profile. Or, you can simply do nothing. All private profiles will be deleted after July 31, 2011.
This change makes sense in the context of Google+ being a network that defaults to a ‘public’ setting, somewhat like Twitter. Anything that you share can be moderated to only appear to a member of the exact circles that you choose, but by default, everyone sees everything.
There are still some controls that are available to users, regardless of the public status of their profile. Users of Google can still choose to have their profile not be included in search results pages by visiting their profile privacy settings and changing the ‘Search visibility’ option.
One nice feature that Google does give users is the ability to remove their profile from showing in Google search. By going to your account page, you can uncheck the “Help others find my profile in search results” button to be removed from the results pages.

We have updated our Gallery and skin. Now you can choose different skin colors i.e. Blue, Green, Red and Black from the drop down menu near forum rules.

Here is the silEnT Enemy Territory mod 0.3.1.
It's the patch release which fixes some issues with the mod:
Bug fixes. Added: g_votedMuteLength which controls the lengths of the voted mutes. Default is 3 hours. Reworked: The tripmine shaders. Visually still defaults to the old look. Some code cleanup and minor optimizations. Binaries compiled with optimization settings.
