In anticipation of the European launch of Sleeping Dogs and in response to some of the feedback generated by the PC gamers on the forum weve prepared a patch that aims to improve some PC-specific features as well as fix some bugs that have been reported by the community. Wow, is that a big number. And since we take the time to print out every TF2 screenshot, transfer every TF2 video to DVD, and lovingly whittle every TF2 item you design out of soap, the TF2 offices are getting a little cluttered. A load-bearing picture stack in the screenshot district toppled over last week, and the fire department suggested we create some sort of central online hub for this stuff before somebody died. Introducing the TF2 Game Hub, a central repository of community-created and official content, as rated by you, the Steam users—game-centric discussions, workshop items, screenshots, videos, news. It's all here, under a single virtual roof. And this is just the first step. We plan to have a hub for every game on Steam—click here to find out more about the new Steam Community. Release notes for 8/15 Update: UI: • Added Message of the Day • Added a message when running without Steam to inform the users that the game requires Steam to be running. • Added support for radar user message breaking up into several messages to allow for servers with large playercounts to not break user message stream when encountering too many entities. • Updated the scoreboard so that if a game has a max of ten players you will see a compact scoreboard. • Update to HUD voice status - darkened chat background from 32% opaque to 45% to increase readability of messages. • Leaderboards input device filter now defaults to mouse and keyboard. New features announced each day this week, beta access available soon A new set of features are being previewed today, focusing on organizing and showing off your collection of screenshots, videos, and Workshop items. With this update, Steam is putting all the content youve created and shared in one convenient place to make it easier to both show off and manage. Your screenshots will be organized into a rich, continually scrolling page that were calling the Image Wall, showing off both your recent and top-rated images at the top. Videos and Workshop items will also get their own sub-section in your shared files, with the ability to easily sort and manage them. Plus, when you come across someone elses screenshot or video that you really like, you can add it to your favorites to easily find it later in this same area. The following issues have been fixed: - The HUD was being cut off in certain resolutions (particularly 4x3 aspect ratios). - Player stats were displayed as 0 when changing resolutions. The stats were always stored correctly, just displayed wrong. - In multiplayer, the game continues when one player alt-tabs or loses focus. Previously, if one player paused the game by alt-tabbing, it would pause everyones game. - The game now starts up in the same resolution as your desktop, rather than trying to switch to 1280x720.
