Whether it be a SIM only deal or a brand new mobile phone deal, Three is the go to name for unlimited data offers. But, as satisfying as it is to blast through HD streams for hours on end, the cost of having no data caps can be massively off-putting. Luckily, Three has come big with its most recent offer, helping to crush those overwhelming price tags. On a huge host of unlimited data contracts and SIM only deals, you can currently get half price bills for the first six months of your contract. That means paying as little as £11 a month for an unlimited data SIM or even £29 for the iPhone XR. While these prices do then jump back up to their usual costs after those six months are up, this offer will help slash the costs of your overall spending across the 24 months. Ready to go big on streaming and not worry about your costs? We've listed all of the highlights of this offer below. With offers across the top flagships - including iPhones and Samsungs - there is a huge range of unlimited data offers to choose from. Costs still too high? 5G is here, but even if you live in one of the few cities around the world which have the next generation of mobile network switched 'on', you'll likely find the coverage (and speeds) far from spectacular right now. The good news is, you're not alone. We've already tested the new 5G networks in the US and the UK, where speeds and connectivity vary wildly, and we've now taken our 5G road trip to South Korea. With a Samsung Galaxy S10 5G in hand, we spent three days in the South Korean capital, Seoul, testing out the coverage and speeds and the results are... just as predictable. Seoul is considered one of the most technologically advanced cities on the planet, but its 5G networks don't appear to be faring any better than those in the US and UK during the fifth generation mobile network's initial few months. 5G phones: all the handsets compatible with the next-gen networkEverything you need to know about 5GHands-on: Samsung Galaxy S10 5G reviewDay 1: our first South Korean 5G experienceWe receive our Samsung Galaxy S10 5G handset, and hastily unbox, login and setup the phone. Checking the signal, it says it has got full 5G signal. Speed test time. Our handset came with a Korean Telecom (KT) SIM installed, and it's the only network we had access to during our time in South Korea. Firing up Fast.com we found speeds were hugely variable, bottoming out at around 40Mbps and peaking (for us, at least) at around 360Mbps. Now, we were sitting in a room of around 50 journalists who had all just got the same phone and were performing the same tests - so our handset would have been battling for bandwidth. However, the 360Mbps score is at least promising, but by the time we had returned to our hotel the Galaxy S10 5G was only reading LTE in the signal bar. Time to charge up and get ready for more testing in the morning. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/XSpT7MWA5h4BR8Bgh7idbJ.jpg Image Credit: TechRadar Day 2: improvements, in placesWelcome to Day 2, if you've made it this far... well, there's no praise because you've not exactly come far. Just keep reading, yeah? With a solid day ahead of us, and plenty of movement between the center of Seoul and the outer suburbs, it's a perfect opportunity to test the length and breadth of KT's 5G coverage as we bounce along on a bus. 5G signal wasn't available inside our hotel, but stepping outside we got full bars of 5G, and a couple of speed tests later showed that high speeds were available. We managed to clock a mammoth 830Mbps, which far exceeds the 4G speeds you're able to get. However, as we started to move through the center of the city the 5G signal jumped to 4G and back numerous times, and as we hit the outskirts it appeared we'd left the next generation network behind us. Like with the roll-out in UK and US cities, Seoul has 5G in its center, but it's yet to reach further out just yet. Day 3: downloads in a flashAnother day, and a few more speed tests see us grab 5G speeds of up to 700Mbps. What does that mean in terms of your usage? Well, both WhatsApp and Instagram (both less than 40MB) downloaded in an instant - and in these early days of 5G it's fast downloads and buffer-free streaming which are the clear use cases for the technology. It's not like we have been left waiting for ages for apps to download on 4G, but these high speeds are just the tip of 5G's capabilities. Over the next few years, as the networks roll out to more of the population, and developers start to explore what's possible with a faster, more reliable and almost latency-free network, we'll see the true power of the network. For now though, unless you're living in a 5G coverage zone in a major global city, it's still worth waiting for 5G networks to roll out further, and for prices to drop and more handsets to become available, before shifting over to 5G. We'd say leave it at least a year, but if you can hold on for 18-24 months you may find yourself in an even better 5G position. 10 things 5G can do that 4G can’thttp://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/digital-home/~4/MKKVCKxOvt0

Romahttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/UJHmNw2FDxgf5SKdXTXaMH.jpg Image Credit: Netflix Genre: Period drama/Foreign film Who's it for? Cinema buffs and anyone looking to get a jump on Awards Season An astonishing ode to motherhood in all forms, Roma is the most personal film to date from visionary director Alfonso Cuarón (Children of Men, Gravity). On paper, Roma is not the easiest sell – a subtitled black and white film about a live-in housekeeper spoken almost entirely in Spanish and the indigenous Mixtec language, Cuarón's latest is nonetheless riveting from a cinematic standpoint. More a series of vignettes than a traditional three-act story, Roma examines the life of a Mexico City family in the early 1970s during a time of great social upheaval. Described by Cuarón as 90% autobiographical, the film provides some insight into the famous director's early life, although the story is witnessed primarily through the eyes of his caretaker, Cleo (Yalitza Aparicio), who would become a loved member of the family. One of the most gorgeously photographed films of the year, Roma deserves to be seen on the largest screen possible. Shot entirely in 65mm, Roma would make for an ideal theatrical experience. However, if that isn't an option, you won't be disappointed by the Roma's breathtaking 4K Ultra HD presentation on Netflix – just make sure you keep tissues on hand, because it's very likely you'll shed a few tears during the film. IMDB Rating: 8.5, Rotten Tomatoes: 96% 2. Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedihttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/rVRAuEHXbunMb34SiG6jLK.jpg Image Credit: Lucasfilm Ltd. Genre: Sci-Fi Who's it for? Fans of sci-fi based around people named Skywalker. Love it or hate it, the 8th film in the Star Wars franchise is immortalized in the canon now. It stumbles in parts, slows to a crawl in others, and fails to do what you'd expect. Some might call these the markings of a failed film. But we'd say it's these traits - this break from tradition - that gave us a Star Wars film that we couldn't have ever imagined. Beyond simply defying expectations for the sake of it, The Last Jedi grapples with complex themes of morality in a new republic - with minority characters leading the charge as tried-and-true characters are laid to rest. This is jolting for a franchise that's been dominated by the same few characters for the last two decades but it's this change that pushes The Last Jedi in a new direction - one in which it can survive without its main heroes. It might not have the nostalgia of the originals or the fast, fun nature of Solo: A Star Wars Story, but sometimes we need to shed the skin tradition to create something new. (Hint: In case that's lost on you, that's the exact point that Yoda makes abundantly clear to Luke at the temple.) IMDB Rating: 7.3, Rotten Tomatoes: 91% 3. Blackfishhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/3379c511602c56699b78fdd5605fe556.jpg Genre: Documentary Who's it for? Activists and folks ready to be exposed to animal cruelty Blackfish, the controversial nature documentary that follows a misunderstood and often violent killer whale in captivity at SeaWorld, made a huge splash when it was released in 2013. Its story has moved audiences to take action in a way that few other films have ever done, going so far as forcing lawmakers' hands to introduce legislation that will demand that SeaWorld release killer whales back into the wild. It's an emotional ride through the highs and lows of the aquatic entertainment industry, one that reveals the real consequences of keeping animals where they don't belong. IMDB Rating: 8.1, Rotten Tomatoes: 98% 4. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Versehttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/uLmRwWh6UT22XnJzTE5uQj.jpg Image Credit: Sony Pictures Genre: Animated superhero film Who's it for? Fans of the famous wall-crawler, super heroes in training There's little doubt that Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse is the best animated Spider-Man film ever made but, in all honesty, it might even steal the title as the best Spider-Man movie ever made. A harrowing tale that takes place across universes and timelines, the original Spider-Man Peter Parker must teach a new Spider-Man how to save the world one web at a time. As more Spider-Men (and Spider-Women!) get involved in Miles' training, everyone involved soon realizes that it's not the mask that makes the hero, it's the hero that makes the mask. Inspiring, heart-warming and extremely well-written, Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse is worth the watch. IMDB Rating: 8.5, Rotten Tomatoes: 97% 5. The Theory of Everythinghttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/tizZdphFrm9JhXL5KypeT7.jpg Genre: Romance / Drama Who's it for? Empathetic scientists and romance fans The Theory of Everything is the romance-heavy version of Stephen Hawking's life. The stars Eddie Redmayne in the role of Hawking who, despite the overwhelming challenge of playing a character with progressive ALS (commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease), puts on an Oscar-worthy performance as the man who solved some of the greatest mysteries around black holes and their lives. While the film glosses over most of the science behind Hawking's greatest revelations, it does an exceptional job depicting the challenge of providing care for someone whose health is progressively declining. It's based on source material from Hawking's first wife, author Jane Hawking and her book Traveling to Infinity. IMDB Rating: 7.7, Rotten Tomatoes: 78% 6. Always Be My Maybehttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/A3Shew4nRjpX7RqNQcaJQk.jpg Image Credit: Netflix Genre: Romance Who's it for? Fans of romance fans and the one who got away You may know Always Be My Maybe's leading lady Ali Wong from her raucous Netflix stand-up specials but it's as a successful celebrity chef that she really hits her stride. After a failed engagement Wong's character Sasha Tran heads to her hometown of San Francisco to setup a new restaurant only to run into her old bff played by Randall Park. Through the turbulence of the relationship, a sudden fling with actor Keanu Reeves and despite the differences in careers, the two try to make it work, and the journey from old friends to lovers is a joy to watch. IMDB Rating: 6.9, Rotten Tomatoes: 91% 7. Schindler's Listhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/sQnftEFEVvTe6ow9R8HXra.jpg Genre: Drama Who's it for? Anyone in need of a lesson in human compassion This is one of the most affecting movies that you will ever see. Based on the true story of Oskar Schindler, a factory owner who begins to help his Jewish workers during World War II after he sees them persecuted by the Nazi Germans, the movie is a study in brevity. Steven Spielberg manages to find the human stories in the atrocity of WWII without shying away from the true horror of what happened during the conflict. Winner of several Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director, Schindler's List is a film you won't soon forget. IMDB Rating: 8.9, Rotten Tomatoes: 96% 8. Beasts of No Nationhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/17c4670225eec9fa22d68f0fc5b9eff1.jpg Genre: War Drama Who's it for? Joseph Conrad enthusiasts Beasts of No Nation stars Idris Elba as a war lord, and follows the story of Agu, portrayed by child actor Abraham, who is forced to become a child soldier during the civil war of an unnamed African country. What follows is a nightmare: boys stolen from their families are forced to kill and through blood take their vengeance on the world. It's a war movie with a profound message, and is probably the closest equivalent of Apocalypse Now that we're like to see in the 21st century. IMDB Rating: 8.0, Rotten Tomatoes: 91% 9. Fyre Festivalhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/fiq6Vvb9stuWuzgVRsX7mS.jpg Genre: Documentary Who's it for? Anyone who needs a heaping dose of schadenfreude Billed as a luxury music experience on a private island, Fyre Festival was tirelessly promoted by social media influencers – but ended up being a complete and utter disaster, with multiple lawsuits being brought against the promoters. This illuminating documentary explores what went wrong, with some extremely personal accounts from the people who helped create it, and it’s a must-watch. IMDB Rating: 7.3, Rotten Tomatoes: 90% 10. The Dark Knighthttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/2NBcYamXxLpvA77ciPfKZW.jpg Image Credit: Warner Bros. Genre: Action/Thriller Who's it for? Brooding comic book fans While it's not quite the visual treat that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is, Batman The Dark Knight is the quintessential super hero film blending the sometimes silly story of the comics with the hyper-realistic tone of Christopher Nolan film. The result is a picture long-remembered for its iconic portrayal of The Joker by Heath Ledger who posthumously won the awards for Best Supporting Actor at the Academy Awards, SAG Awards, Golden Globes and BAFTAs. If you haven't seen this masterpiece of a film, now's the time to watch it. IMDB Rating: 9.0, Rotten Tomatoes: 94% 11. The Hateful Eighthttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/kS7sVh2zbZvMprQHEPMsqU.jpg Who's it for? Desperadoes looking for a modern masterpiece There are few directors who have filmographies as celebrated as Quentin Tarantino, and The Hateful Eight only goes to further add to his illustrious career. Based several years after the Civil War in a cabin in Wyoming in the dead of winter, this high-intensity thriller puts a wide variety of suspicious individuals together in the same room, and it’s uncertain whether or not anyone will make it out alive. This film heavily features Tarantino’s masterful use of dialogue and cinematography to really make you feel like you’re part of the action as you suspiciously watch everyone in the room – trying to figure out who is trustworthy. IMDB Rating: 7.8, Rotten Tomatoes: 74% 12. Bird Boxhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/REj4RRM3Mz7vofcwHdFvsb.jpg Who's it for? Hardworking moms who aren't afraid of suspense Horror movies have fallen on hard times. There, I said it. Spending the past decade relying on jump shocks and excessive gore to win over new audiences, it's rare to find a film as well-made, thought-out and genuinely suspenseful as Bird Box. While the film draws some obvious comparison to 2018's The Quiet Place, Bird Box pits survivors against post-apocalyptic horrors who cause people to commit suicide when they're seen. Cue copious blindfolds to keep the monsters out of sight, but never are they out of mind for a mother tasked with ferrying two kids to safety. IMDB Rating: 6.8, Rotten Tomatoes: 63% 13. Avengers Infinity Warhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/z56CaHhVjBKxwtCBL37h3W.jpg Who's it for? Marvel super fans and... nihilists, I guess? Infinity War is a feat of film-making. The Russo Brothers (the film's directors) were tasked with creating a unified Marvel crossover event with every character from the last 10 years. It's a big, bold vision for a universe that so innocently began with Iron Man one short decade ago, but it's woven seamlessly together via a cast of heroes and one singularly misguided villain with the power to wipe out half of all life in the universe. It's a bit heavy on action sequences but in between all the fighting lies a wonderfully wrought world that's straight from the panels of Marvel's comics. IMDB Rating: 8.5, Rotten Tomatoes: 84% 14. Herhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/onCLeAP4xnFezJs9oderXF.jpg Who's it for? Anyone looking for love in all the wrong places While it's a film that's almost certainly mocking tech lovers like us, Her is a beautiful look at a lonely man who's rescued by a futuristic fictional smart assistant. At times a bit heavy-handed with its messaging, Her provides a solid foundation for why human connection is more intimate than machines, even if the latter can remove the awkward initial dating phase using a personalized algorithm. IMDB Rating: 8.0, Rotten Tomatoes: 94% 15. The Incredibles 2http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/N9dBCQCUbGEjQn7QEfkHkb.jpg Genre: Animated Action Who's it for? The kids and kids-at-heart in your house While there's no shortage of endearing animated films on Netflix (see: Coco, Moana, Spider-Man, etc...) The Incredibles does something none of the others do by building a successful sequel on a fondly remembered original film. The second Incredibles film might not hit the same star status that the original hits, but following the family through their new life as re-instated heroes is as adorable this time around as it was before thanks to Mr. Incredible's role as a stay-at-home dad. If you need something for the kids and don't want to sit through the same movie again, The Incredibles 2 shakes things up while building upon the 10-year-old franchise. IMDB Rating: 7.7, Rotten Tomatoes: 94% 16. Good Will Huntinghttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/gbjJucFrjXaRJnoTQ5FmF4.jpg Good Will Hunting is playing a game of hide and seek on US Netflix. It's there one minute and gone the next - but, for now, it appears to have landed semi-permanently on the streaming service. In what is arguably the late Robin Williams' best performance, Good Will Hunting shows us a brilliant mind robbed of its potential by falling in with a bad crowd, only to be saved by an unconventional psychologist who's willing to get a bit too personal with his clients. Matt Damon's character's transition from broken toy to intellectual aspirant is beautiful behold and is a close second to Williams' meteoric performance. IMDB Rating: 8.3, Rotten Tomatoes: 97% 17. The Fundamentals of Caringhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/81c1a6e04cca25e1d786b5feea875ebb.jpg The Fundamentals of Caring is proof that you can take actor Paul Rudd, put him in literally any movie about any subject and he automatically makes it 10 to 20 times better. With any other actor in the leading role, The Fundamentals of Caring – based on the book by Jonathan Evison – would've likely had no lasting appeal. And yet, with Rudd behind the wheel of the ship the film becomes a comical road trip movie with a compelling twist that's one part Eurotrip and two parts 50/50. The stakes here are that Rudd is taking care of an emotionally sheltered, physically handicapped teen whose bark is fiercer than his bite. The friendship the two form ultimately help the other grow out of their shells. It may come off as trite, cliché and over-wrought at times, but if you stick through the saccharine, there's a well-crafted story here that might melt your heart. IMDB Rating: 7.4, Rotten Tomatoes: 79% 18. Jiro Dreams of Sushihttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/f96dd8671ff2735d303dd12b6723f92a.jpg Jiro Dreams of Sushi is the uplifting documentary of one man who never gave up on his … uh, dreams. Jiro became the first three-star Michelin sushi chef in Japan and has been called a national treasure, all the while honing his mantra of being his best self. Jiro's commitment to his craft that carries the film – but it's his two sons, both famous sushi chefs like their father that make the film one of the best documentaries ever made. If you're hungry for a bit of inspiration in an evermore depressing world, pull up a seat. IMDB Rating: 7.9, Rotten Tomatoes: 99% 19. Coco http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/uc6EVPcZkdjPwEycYJBMxR.jpg With Moana officially off Netflix for the time-being, Coco is the new de facto must-watch animated film on the streaming service. A gloriously colorful romp through a Dia de Los Muertos in the land of the dead, Coco teaches us about the importance of family and the power of chasing your dreams simultaneously. Though it follows all the familiar Disney beats that we've come to expect over the years, Coco is well written, wonderfully animated and terrifically acted. You may also find its many catchy songs stuck in your head for days after watching it. IMDB Rating: 8.4, Rotten Tomatoes: 97% 20. Dallas Buyers Clubhttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/2LrHWDsAVTAxazSGvrp9o5.jpg This is a movie that was close to not being made. Just as shooting began, funding was pulled and it means that star Matthew McConaughey may have had to drop out, as he needed to put all the weight on he had lost for playing Ron Woodroof, an electrician diagnosed with Aids. Money was found, though, and we're glad it was as this is a sometimes harrowing but strangely uplifting account of someone who goes to the extra mile to get their hands on an experimental Aids drug that can lessen the effects of the disease. McConaughey is fantastic as the makeshift drug runner while his partner in crime is Jared Leto as Rayon, a trans woman who helps him on his journey. Despite the budget cut, there was Oscar nominations aplenty for the film with it winning Best Makeup. Considering the makeup was done on $250 budget, this is an impress feat. IMDB Rating: 8.0, Rotten Tomatoes: 93% http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/digital-home/~4/Gnt4bEbVUxI

It features the same classy design as its predecessor, the C920, but it’s especially interesting for gamers this time around. With the Razer Kiyo, Razer has stripped away a lot of the bells and whistles that more premium webcams offer, focusing instead on what matters most to game streamers and YouTube vloggers – good image quality and lighting through a “Light Ring”. You don’t need to spend a ton of time configuring the stream – just plug in the Razer Kiyo and get to work. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/0354a6bcda01aa8dc7d8f95ac0742d31.jpg Image Credit: Microsoft The Microsoft LifeCam Studio is one of the best webcams out there. Aimed at pro users with large displays, it features a familiar configuration of 1080p recording and 720p live video calling. It rotates 360 degrees, and can be mounted on a tripod with autofocus. The wideband mic delivers crystal clear audio, and Microsoft’s TrueColor system will shift the exposure dynamically to keep you well lit, making it a great choice for business conferencing and presentations. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/bmV4V9X6M2FnEHMdM6H46P.jpg Image Credit: Mevo If you’re an aspiring journalist, or even if you’re just trying to capture footage in the wild, Mevo might be one of the best webcams for you. Either the Mevo or Mevo Plus will allow you to capture footage live, no matter where you are in the world – as long as you can connect to a mobile network. Plus, because Mevo is small and inconspicuous, it won’t distract your subject during an interview. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/d4954641952d854581af6733980e197a.jpg Image Credit: Microsoft It isn’t the most attractive webcam, but the LifeCam Studio isn’t really designed to be attractive. Instead, it’s made for business conferencing and presentations, with its 1080p recording, 720p live video calling and wideband mic to deliver crystal clear sound. This is a serious peripheral – one that requires a powerful PC for max settings – but that doesn’t mean it’s lacking bells and whistles. For instance, it comes with 360-degree rotating capabilities and Microsoft’s TrueColor system, which will shift the exposure dynamically to keep you well lit. Well, the Logitech Brio might be the webcam you’ve been looking for. With a 4K UHD resolution and HDR, the Logitech Brio has brought high fidelity to the world of the best webcams. If that wasn’t enough, it also boasts Windows Hello functionality and an easy to use stand, which will let you position it to capture your best side. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/tPceFj3kT4kTbXwmuGQQda.jpg Image Credit: Creative Creative may not be the first company that comes to mind when you’re in the market for the best webcams, but with the Creative Labs Senz3D, that’s clearly changed. The wide, 90-degree field of view means it’s well-suited to business video conferencing and presentations. As email-based threats have grown in number as well as severity, new research from the security firm Barracuda has revealed that 94 percent of organizations see email as their top security vulnerability. To compile its new You've got mail, The rise of email threats report, the firm surveyed 280 decision makers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa to find that 87 percent of respondents expect email threats to increase in the coming year with 75 percent reporting a steady increase in email attacks over the last three years. Of those surveyed, almost half (47%) have been hit by a ransomware attack as a result of an employee opening a suspicious email and 31 percent fell victim to a business email compromise (BEC) attack. However, the majority (75%) of organizations have been hit by a brand impersonation attack. One trillion phishing emails sent every yearHackers target Office 365 business accountsUS presidential candidates aren't using basic email securityBarracuda's research found that finance departments are the most targeted by email-borne cyber attacks according to 57 percent of respondents. Though 32 percent said that customer support was their most targeted department which could signal the start of a new trend among would-be attackers. Lack of security trainingThe report also highlighted the need for more regular and in-depth security training to help employees better detect email-based threats. Employees are often confused or unaware of the security protocols at their organizations due to lack of training and 56 percent of those surveyed stated that some of their employees do not follow security policies. Additionally, 40 percent said their employees have been using workarounds to bypass security which could put their organizations further at risk. To help reduce email traffic and email-based threats, many organizations are considering using instant messaging applications such as Slack or Yammer. However, Barracuda's researchers warn that if this becomes a trend, cybercriminals will likely begin to use these services to launch attacks, saying: “This approach comes with a warning from us: while we haven’t yet seen attacks using messaging platforms such as Slack, this may well change in the future and doesn’t necessarily mean that these platforms are immune to attacks. Any organisation going down this route should do so with care, as if we know anything about cyber attackers, it’s that they’re always trying new ways to catch their victims out.” While switching communication platforms could be a short term fix, in the end only improved security training about the threats that emails can contain will help organizations from falling victim to them. [update 5:19pm ET] AMD has confirmed that the prices of its Navi graphics cards are indeed dropping. The new pricing is $449 (about £350, AU$640) for the AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT 50th Anniversary Edition, $399 (about £315, AU$570) for the AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT and $349 (about £275, AU$500) for the AMD Radeon RX 5700. Original story continued below. AMD Navi graphics cards aren't even out yet, but thanks to pressure from the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super and RTX 2060 Super, AMD is rumored to drop prices on the Radeon RX 5700 XT and RX 5700. Right out of the gate, when the AMD Radeon RX 5700 series graphics cards were revealed back at E3 2019, they were targeting the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 and RTX 2060. But, now that the Super cards have effectively lowered the price of entry to the RTX family, AMD may be planning to cut prices of the RX 5700 XT and RX 5700 to $399 (about £315, AU$580) and $349 (about £275, AU$500), respectively, according to a report from VideoCardz. No matter what, you can find graphics card deals on Amazon Prime DayCheck out the wonderful world of PC componentsPair your new graphics card with the best processorWe don't have any concrete performance information for the Navi cards, but we do know that the Nvidia RTX Super cards are noticeably more powerful than their non-super counterparts. It really does seem like Nvidia held these Super cards back to weaken the appeal of Navi, releasing two days later. If AMD Navi graphics cards like the Radeon RX 5700 XT and RX 5700 do fail to provide a better value than the Nvidia Super cards at launch, it would only make sense for Team Red to drop prices in response. Either way, we won't really know until AMD actually puts the cards on store shelves – luckily we won't have to wait too long for that to happen. At last year's Ignite conference Microsoft announced an opt-in experience that would allow users to try out the new Outlook on the web and now after eight months of testing, the updated version is beginning to roll out. With its new release, the software giant is aiming to make Outlook for the web faster and to deliver a more modern experience for its users both at work and at home. Microsoft has been testing a slew of new features for its email service that are designed to increase productivity such as categories and improved search. Categories will make it easier to tag, find or organize your messages and you can even add multiple categories to a message, add a category as a favorite or find your categories using search. Microsoft is making Outlook.com more intelligentWhy you still need an email client in 2019Microsoft warns users about email security scamOutlook on the web will even be getting a dark mode with the option to “turn the lights on” within individual messages in case you need to see something more clearly. A new snooze option will also allow users to postpone messages for later and they'll reappear in your inbox as unread. Depending on your level of expertise, website hosting, which is the task of making websites and web pages available to many users, can be either very simple or daunting. In this article, we are going to explore the different types of hosting in plan English. While they all act as a storage place for your website, where they differ is the amount of storage capacity, control, technical knowledge requirement, server speed and reliability. These are the six types of web hosting you will most often come across: Our experts have curated the best website hosting services 1. Shared hostingPerfect for entry-level website hosting. This is where your website will be stored on the same server as multiple other websites, that could be anywhere between hundreds or thousands of others. All domains will share the same server resources, such as RAM (Random Access Memory - a type of computer memory) and CPU (Central Processing Unit – the “brains” of a computer). Costs of this type of hosting will be comparatively low. If you’re a small business, community group or stay-at-home mum wanting to run your own blog, in most cases beginners will find shared the simplest method of hosting their website. This type of service often comes with the tools you need like website builders Wordpress hosting, email clients etc. The trade-off is that you’re sharing this with other users, so surges in usage can affect your website’s user experience. 2. Virtual private server (VPS) hostingA VPS hosting service mimics a dedicated server, but is within a shared hosting environment. This one’s for website owners that need more control, but don’t want to invest in a dedicated server. They’re still not able to handle high traffic levels or spikes in usage and the site performance can still be affected by other sites on the server. However, by dividing a server into virtual servers – each website is hosted on its own dedicated server, though they still share a physical server with other users. So, who uses VPS hosting? Users who want dedicated hosting but don’t have the technical knowledge needed. VPS offers the cost benefits of shared hosting with the control of dedicated hosting. A great choice for advanced users and those that want specific software and package installations. 3. Dedicated server hostingThis option gives website owners the most control over the server that their website is stored on. The server is exclusively rented by you and your website is the only one stored on the server. You have full root and admin access, which means control over everything from security to operating system. All that control comes with a price. Dedicated servers - which some vendors call bare metal Servers - cost more than all of the other options and are really only worth it for those with high traffic that need high control levels and a better performing server. A high level of technical expertise is required for the installation and ongoing management of the server. 4. Cloud hostingCloud hosting is the current buzzword of the hosting industry. It’s just a marketing term and “Cloud” can mean different things in different contexts. With hosting, it means many computers working together, running applications using combined computing resources. It’s a hosting solution that works via a network, like the internet, and enables companies to consume the computing resource like a utility e.g. gas or electricity. Using as much as they need without having to build and maintain their own computing infrastructure in-house. The resources required for maintaining your website are spread across more than one web server, reducing the chance of any downtime due to server malfunction. Cloud-based hosting is scalable, meaning your site can grow over time, using as much resource as it requires and you only pay for what you need. 5. Managed hostingMost hosting packages you are likely to find online will be managed. Hosting companies provide technical services such as hardware and software setup and configuration, maintenance, hardware replacement, technical support, patching, updating and monitoring. Unlike standard dedicated hosting, the hosting provider looks after the day-to-day management of the hardware, operating systems and standardised applications. A popular sub-category is WordPress managed hosting. For many businesses, the beauty of Wordpress is in its simplicity. Its benefits are clear, it's easy to setup and it's straightforward to manage. Choosing a hosting provider for a Wordpress site can be more of a task, however, especially for those without expert knowledge or experience of the market. Many web hosting companies now specialise solely in offering managed services for WordPress. 6. ColocationInstead of keeping servers in-house or at a private data centre, you may choose to ”‘co-locate” your equipment by renting space in a colocation centre. The centre will provide the power, bandwidth, IP address and cooling systems that your server requires. Space is rented out in racks and cabinets. Colocation gives access to higher levels of bandwidth than a normal office server room at a much lower cost. You’re left to your own devices (literally) and will be expected to take care of everything including the hardware, software and services. We’re only just starting to get used to punch-hole cameras but it seems their days are numbered, as several companies are already working on under-display cameras, including – most recently – Huawei. Or at least, the company has patented an interface that seems to incorporate such a camera, suggesting that it’s at least looking into the idea. Spotted by WinFuture, the patents show a camera lens in the top left corner of the screen, and while the lens seems somewhat visible in some of the images, in one there’s a phone icon directly on top of it, showing that there’s usable screen above the lens. The Huawei Mate 30 Pro is coming soonAs is the iPhone 11We're seeing lots of 5G phonesOther images show the area seemingly changing function depending on what you’re doing with your phone – there’s one that appears to include a ring of light around the lens, perhaps acting as a notification light, and another with the name of the camera mode you’re using placed beside the lens. As ever, we’d add the usual caveat that patents often don’t develop into finished technologies and products, so just because Huawei has patented an interface that includes an under-display camera, it doesn’t mean the company will release a phone with one. But sooner or later it and most other companies are likely to. Punch-hole cameras really feel like a stop-gap on the road to an all-screen design, and both Xiaomi and Oppo have already teased handsets with under-display lenses, so it’s likely only a matter of time before bigger brands like Huawei do the same. All the speculation, build-up events and hard, hard training are over - it's almost finally time for the 2019 Tour de France 2019 to commence. In it's 109th year, the excitement and intensity seems to grow larger with every race as the world's best riders are pushed to the limit - and even a bit beyond. Geraint Thomas, as defending champion, will have to work hard this year with tough competition from all sides. Luckily for you, it's a much easier task to live stream Tour de France cycling action from wherever you are in the world by simply reading on. The 2019 Tour de France is looking like an exceptionally exciting one as there is no clear favourite with lots of strong riders out this year. Four-time champ Chris Froome has already crashed out with serious fractures so he won't be in with a chance at a fifth win this time. His Ineos teammate and current champion Geraint Thomas also crashed out recently but will be back to defend his title this year. Another potential contender that's pulled out this year is 2017 Giro champion, and second placer on last year's Tour, Tom Dumoulin of Team Sunweb. After knee problems he's backed out. So all in all there is a very open road this year that could make for some fantastic battles. The chance to win is more within reach than ever for some who may have not stood a chance otherwise. Keep your eyes peeled for Team Ineos' up-and-coming Egan Bernal, the 2014 winner Vincenzo Nibali and Richie Porte, Romain Bardet, Thibaut Pinot and Nairo Quintana. That's certainly annoying, but not a disaster - downloading and installing a VPN can come to your rescue. The Google Pixel 3 family of handsets are some of the best camera phones we've seen, and an upcoming update could make them even better. According to 9to5Google, the version 6.3 of the Google Camera app on the handsets will see its impressive Night Sight mode featured more prominently within the interface. To date, Night Sight mode has been available via the 'More' panel in the camera app, and a pop-up suggestion which sometimes displays on screen when your Pixel handset detects you're in very low light. The top camera phones availableAre you considering a 5G phone?Foldable phones may be available soonIt appears that with the new Google Camera update, Night Sight will take the place of Panorama in the main camera interface, with the latter being moved to the 'More' panel. This means Night Sight will be just a single tap away, allowing you to quickly launch the mode. Snap to the FutureAnother feature spotted in the Google Camera 6.3 API is something called 'McFly' mode - with the name a nod towards the famous movie, Back to the Future. According to the findings, the McFly camera mode appears alongside a reference to 'rewind' - while not confirmed, this may be you'll have to ability to record video clips and then play them in reverse. In our list of the best phones for gaming, the Asus ROG Phone stands as the highest gaming-specific smartphone, but it looks like Asus is getting ready to try and steal the crown from itself, as it's just announced the launch date of its next smartphone. On Chinese social media app Weibo, Asus revealed a poster advertising the launch of the ROG Phone 2, which is set to be on the afternoon of July 23 (although due to time differences, it'll actually be late at night on July 22 in the US). These are the best phones for gamingCheck out our thoughts on the Asus ROG PhoneCould the Black Shark 2 pose some serious competition? This release date confirms what we previously heard in a leak (also on Weibo) stating we'd see the phone by September – by the sounds of it, we're actually going to see the handset well before September, although usually devices are actually available to buy some time after they're officially launched. What is the Asus ROG Phone 2?ROG (which stands for Republic of Gamers) is a well-known brand for gaming phones, computers and gear, and the original ROG Phone was the first smartphone to carry this brand (Asus itself has a history making traditional smartphones). The ROG Phone 2 is set to be a step up in many ways. We've already heard that the ROG Phone 2 display will have a 120Hz refresh rate, meaning the screen will refresh and show you new images quicker – great for frantic gameplay. That's the only rumor we've heard about the smartphone so far, but we'd expect it to have all the unique features of the original device, like 30W fast-charge, an AMOLED screen, and gaming specific mode. We've contacted Asus for more information on the handset, and when we could expect to see it in the West, so will update this article when we find out. When we find out more we'll update you, so stay tuned to TechRadar for the latest phones news. British businesses are reporting far fewer cyberattacks than previous years, new government research has found. A new report from the department for digital, culture, media and sport (DCMS) found 32 percent of UK businesses surveyed (and 22 percent of charities) had been hit by a breach or cyberattack in the last 12 months. This was down from 43 percent in 2018 and 46 percent in 2017, with the median number of attacks being faced each year rising from two in 2017 to six in 2019. How to protect yourself online in 2019Why cybersecurity alone is not enough to protect private dataMany SMBs are running outdated operating systemsGDPRThe average cost for a business hit by a cyberattack was £4,180, but the survey found other aspects were affected, with 27 percent of businesses saying an attack took up staff time dealing with an incident, and 19 percent had seen staff stopped from doing their daily work. The report, which surveyed 1566 businesses across the UK, hypothesised that the drop in attacks could be down to a number of factors, including more investment in cybersecurity from businesses, as well as higher levels of compliance following GDPR. 30 percent of businesses said they had made changes to their cybersecurity because of GDPR, with 60 percent of these creating new policies and 15 percent saying they had brought in extra staff training. However it also suggested that attackers themselves could be changing tactics, focusing their assaults on a smaller number of victims that would be certain to be unprotected. Phishing scams were found to be the most common kind, with 80 per cent having been subject to email attacks, while 27 per cent reported they had been hit by either viruses, spyware or malware. Despite this, only 31 percent of businesses have done a cyber risk assessment in the last 12 months. The best antivirus of 2019http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/digital-home/~4/9RAi0rPokjs

There is no denying the radical impact that digital technologies have had upon society over the past few decades; entire industries have been transformed. The introduction of the Internet has led to new products and services, operations in some fields have been radically overhauled and a new, hyper-competitive business environment has emerged, where innovation is prized and super-charged start-ups can take significant market share from even the most established and successful household names. Digital innovations present opportunities to streamline processes, enhance productivity and significantly overhaul communications but it’s crucial that organisations are fully prepared to take advantage of them. Without the skills and agility to seize opportunities, employers could find that they start to threaten their organisation when it comes to productivity and competitiveness. The Digital ChallengeIn order to remain efficient in the face of digital innovation, job functions and skills will have to change. The Open University’s Bridging the Digital Divide report suggests that up to 12 million jobs across the UK could be affected in the next five years as more organisations become digital-first. While many employers will attempt to fill new roles with existing staff whose roles are at risk, most will need to invest in training to provide the skills required. The digital skills most lacking in UK organisations currently are cyber security, integrating new technologies and the development and management of cloud-computing services and digital infrastructure. But with the rapid pace of technological development, many employers are struggling to keep up as well as forecast which skills they will require now and in the future. As a result, many organisations will have a digital skills shortage and will be ill placed to take advantage of the remarkable opportunities digital developments represent. The Sustainable SolutionGiven that the digital landscape will continue to shift in the years to come, organisations need to ensure that any training they offer will deliver sustainable results, addressing specific skills shortages now, and ensuring that employees are able to adapt and apply their skills to opportunities in future. It is essential, therefore, that workers gain an understanding of how those skills fit within the context of their organisation and other aspects of IT. Providing higher-level skills training can play a pivotal role here. Arming a workforce with the abilities to apply top-level IT solutions in a real world environment can elevate an organisation’s agility to the next level. Programs such as the Digital and Technical Solutions Professional Degree Apprenticeship mean that organisations can do just this. They also don’t have to wait until employees complete their qualifications to see the benefits. The employer-led standards, which combine on and off-the-job learning and development, ensure that apprentices can start applying their new knowledge and skills to their workplace right from the start - so organisations can improve the skills of their workforce, bring in new talent and start to see return on their investment quickly. By taking the time to pinpoint knowledge gaps and investing in the appropriate learning structures, employers can develop a resilient, flexible and adaptable workforce that is better prepared to handle new developments. Overall, 85 per cent of senior business leaders agree that it will become necessary to move to a model of lifelong learning in the future - and those who are already investing in this type of training are reaping the associated benefits of increased productivity and better employee engagement. The importance of work-based learning Although it may be virtually impossible to predict what the UK’s industries will look like in ten, twenty, or fifty years time, it is essential that both employers and employees act now to establish a culture of work-based learning that could help them to be better prepared to seize opportunities and overcome challenges. The changing digital landscape may well be daunting for employers and employees alike. However, with the right training and development, and by embracing lifelong learning, both have the opportunity to keep up with changing tech, diversify their skills and areas of expertise, future-proofing their lines of work for years to come. With a win margin of over 300 runs needed to leapfrog New Zealand and take the last remaining 2019 Cricket World Cup semi-final spot, Pakistan's target today appears almost insurmountable. Follow our Bangladesh vs Pakistan live stream guide and you won't miss a ball of the action, no matter where you are in the world. Pakistan's chances of pulling off mission impossible are remote, but they've not done their reputation of being cricket's most unpredictable team any harm during the tournament - could they pull off another surprise? The chain of events required for Pakistan to make it through reads like a implausible plot for a Bollywood cricket movie - they need to win the toss, bat first, smash Bangladesh for 400 runs then bowl them out for 84. Simple. No team has ever tasted victory with a win margin of 316 runs in ODI history, but while its mathematically possible the Men In Green will undoubtedly give it their all. While Bangladesh's fight for a place in the last four has come to an end, they've given a good account of themselves in the tournament and are unlikely to go out with a whimper. Can Sarfaraz Ahmed's men pull off cricket's greatest ever one-day performance? The Fitbit Inspire and Inspire HR quickly became two of the company's most popular fitness trackers after launching earlier this year, and a new software update has made them even more customizable than before. If you update the software on either tracker in the coming days, you'll get access to six new watch faces. These are called Minimal Deco, Post Analog, Tron, Valerie, Segments and Just Time. All are in black and white - that's a limitation of the screen tech here - but they offer a variety of new, clean designs that allow you to change how your wearable looks. Read our Fitbit Inspire HR reviewOur guide to the very best FitbitsCould we see a Fitbit Charge 4 in 2019?The update is set to be a gradual roll-out for both devices, so there's no telling exactly when it will land on your fitness tracker. But it began being pushed out on July 4, so you're likely to see it in the coming days. You'll be looking out for version 1.63.5 of the software. You can see what number software you're running when you enter the Fitbit app on your phone and press on your tracker to read more detail about it. The rest of the update is bringing bug fixes to the tracker, and the Fitbit Charge 3 is going through a similar process to get some new tweaks, but there are no extra watch faces or features for that wearable. A technical glitch during a flying car demonstration sent an unmanned craft soaring hundreds of feet into the sky at Goodwood Festival of Speed in West Sussex, UK. The car was a two-thirds scale model of the Airspeeder Mark II – a quadcopter designed for low-altitude racing at an average height of four meters. Driverless cars explained: everything you need to knowYour complete guide to electric vehiclesWhen will self-driving cars earn our trust?Although the incident looked dramatic, remote operators soon regained control and brought the Airspeeder back down for a controlled landing while guests took cover indoors. A crew member later confirmed that such a problem would be impossible in a manned Airspeeder, which is controlled directly by a pilot in the cockpit. A flying startAirspeeder is the creation of Australian company Alauda Racing, which is creating a sports league specifically for flying cars. Alauda officially launched the new sport at Goodwood – an annual showcase of cutting-edge and historic cars – and the demo glitch did little to dampen the mood. Alauda also used the event to unveil the Airspeeder Mark IV, which will be the world's first manned octocopter. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/Fpa9WxkSHwkkCLLvPpoygf.jpg Image credit: TechRadar The first Airspeeder championships are expected to begin next year, featuring five teams and 10 pilots. Sony unveils WF-1000XM3 truly wireless noise-cancelling earbuds
sincity posted a topic in Technology
Following the smashing success of Sony’s flagship noise-cancelling cans – the WH-1000XM3 – the Japanese tech giant is adding another member to the family in the form of true wireless headphones. The similarly named Sony WF-1000XM3 brings much of the over-ear variant’s prowess and appeal to a more portable form factor. Sony WH-1000XM3 Wireless Headphones reviewOne of the most impressive aspects of the WH-1000XM3, and a big factor in making it one of the best wireless headphones available today, is their noise-cancelling capabilities, and with these new truly wireless in-ears, Sony is promising the same quality. A pair of external microphones on each bud feed external noise to the dedicated QN1e noise-cancelling chip (an improvement on the WH-1000XM3’s QN1 chip), where it intelligently blocks out background noise and ambience. This same advanced chip is responsible for 24-bit digital-to-audio conversion, as was the case in the WH-1000XM3. Combine this with Sony’s Digital Sound Enhancement Engine HX – a feature that upscales audio in a compressed format to bring back some lost fidelity – and these in-ears are set to sound as rich as their over-ear counterparts. Best noise-cancelling headphones 2019: the top headphones for travel and commutinghttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/HwcscQhkyCnJaLsyZrmHik.jpg Image credit: Sony A common complaint among true wireless buds is their penchant toward connectivity issues, often caused by one earbud needing to pair with the other via Bluetooth. Apple’s AirPods manage to avoid this by using a dedicated chip to connect both directly to the device, and Sony is employing a similar strategy with the WF-1000XM3, promising increased stability. The WF-1000XM3 have a reported battery life of 6 hours and, as is the situation with most true wireless earbuds, these Sony offerings come with a charging case, capable of recharging them thrice more for a total of 24 hours listening time. A quick charge function should give you 90 minutes mileage out of a snappy 10 minute charge too. The Sony WF-1000XM3 will be available in black and platinum silver, arriving in July for $230 (£220, AU$400). The NBN is pushing to make 50Mbps download speeds (and 20Mbps upload) the norm in Australia, but many customers are opting for the 100Mbps speed tier when they sign up for a new connection. However, if you find you aren’t able to get those speeds, it may be the fault of your broadband modem. A new study commissioned by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has revealed that several ISP-supplied modems are incapable of handling 100Mbps speeds on a fibre-to-the-node/building (FTTN/FTTB) connection. The study has also found that several of these modems have poor Wi-Fi performance, further lowering the average download speeds the end user can expect. The fastest NBN plans in AustraliaConnecting to the NBN: what to expectNBN speed tiers explainedIf you can’t speed it up…43 modems from 11 manufacturers and 10 ISPs were tested in laboratory conditions during December and January as part of the study – conducted by commercial testing firm Enex TestLab – and not one was able to deliver 100Mbps download speeds over a 450m copper stretch (the average length of copper on an FTTN connection). Most devices could only deliver 80% of the advertised speed. In terms of Wi-Fi performance, 30% of the modems were unable to achieve 100Mbps on 2.4GHz over a range of 5m, which is unexpected as 2.4GHz is touted as the better option for long-range communication. Instead, tests showed that 5GHz Wi-Fi outperformed 2.4GHz. With walls coming in the way of Wi-Fi signals, the study found that 26% of the modems tested could achieve 10Mbps download speeds on the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band, while 40% hit 80Mbps when using 5GHz Wi-Fi. So if you find your Wi-Fi connection isn’t delivering the speeds you’re paying for, and you’re using a modem supplied by your ISP, you may want to switch bands to 5GHz. Not enough adviceOnly one modem out of the 43 was outright rejected for use on any NBN connection – that was the Linksys X6200 AC750. Commenting on the results of the study, ACMA’s chair Nerida O'Loughlin said, “Telcos and modem suppliers need to provide good advice to consumers about the features and performance of individual modems, especially Wi-Fi performance.” She advised consumers to question their chosen ISPs about “the performance they can expect from the modem supplied” before signing up for a new connection. When it comes to mobile plans, those that come bundled with a handset tend to steal the limelight, but if you've already got a phone you're happy with, then SIM-only plans present an excellent opportunity to save some money. As the name implies, a SIM-only plan is any plan that doesn't bundle in a phone, whether it's on a 12-month contract or a no lock-in situation where you simply pay month-to-month, there is often a great deal of value to be found in these plans. To make it even easier for you, we've gone through each of the SIM-only providers available to Aussies right now and have hand-picked the best deals we've come across, whether they're big on data, low on cost, or an excellent middle-ground overall. Discover our picks for the best outright mobile phones on the planetEditor's pick: Best SIM-only plans under $25Editor's pick: Best SIM-only plans under $40Live-updated SIM-only deals: Plans under $40Editor's pick: Best premium SIM-only plansLive-updated SIM-only deals: Plans over $40Should I go SIM-only?If you a) want to save some money; don't want to be tied into a lengthy contract; c) already own a perfectly fine phone; or d) all of the above, then going SIM-only is well worth considering. In fact, you're probably in one of two situations if your thoughts are turning to a SIM-only mobile plan: You're coming to the end of your contract and your phone is still fighting fit (if it isn't, then head to our best mobile phones deal page to see what plan you can grab alongside a phone), but otherwise going SIM only on your current phone is a no-brainer. You'll wind up paying much less than you are under contract, and you can often stick to a rolling month-to-month arrangement so that if your circumstances change, you can change with them. It's time for a shiny new smartphone and you want to get the best value humanly possible. You'll have to find a few hundred bucks (or thousand at this stage) up front for the handset (be sure to check our SIM free comparison chart) but you'll end up better off at the end of it all. Plus, if you're a commitment-phobe, most SIM-only plans don't require you to sign up for two years like you would with a normal contract. What SIM card size do I need? There are three sizes of SIM card that you can get for your phone, and the one you need will depend on your handset. It's been a while since the traditional, so-called standard SIM (15 x 25mm) has genuinely been the staple in new phones. Instead, any phone you've bought within the last five or so years is much more likely to require a micro (12 x 15mm) or nano (8.8 x 12.3mm) SIM – the iPhone 5 was Apple's first mobile with a nano SIM, while Samsung began using the smallest size in its Galaxy S6. Before you purchase your new SIM, double-check the manufacturer's website to see what size you require. And if you're simply not sure, most networks now simply send out a triple SIM, so you'll get one of each size. What contract length should I get?Unlike with a contract, there's a lot more flexibility available when it comes to how long your SIM-only plan will last. Two year commitments are virtually unheard of, with the norm being either one year or rolling one month contracts for ultimate flexibility. You can often get better prices if you tie yourself in for 12 months, especially on larger data tariffs. But sticking to one month at a time means that you can effectively hand pick a new plan to suit you every 30 days or so. How much data do I need?Because you can change your plan up more regularly than a normal, lengthier contract, it's less crucial to get this nailed from the start. But if you're thinking of grabbing a 12-monther or just put a personal pride on getting things right first time, then we'll help you pick out the sweet spot of data for you. Firstly, check your phone to see how much data you've been using to date, and whether you have the tendency to use more than your current allowance every month. Then, if you're still unsure, check out our guidance: 0-1GB Tiny amounts of data on SIM only plans could be a blessing or a curse. If you're putting it in a rarely used phone that will scarcely be away from wi-fi then it makes total sense. But if you end up with one because your head's turned by the incredible price, then you could end up paying more if you continually go over your allowance.2-3GB For anybody who needs data for little more than the occasional Google Maps route planning, 2GB and 3GB plans come cheap and give you much more freedom to scroll away online away from the wi-fi.4-8GB If you can't leave the house without having a music streaming service like Spotify pouring into your ears, then it might be worth paying for some extra GBs of data.10-16GB This is a significant amount of data and some networks offer it for a very appetising price. Whether streaming music, downloading podcasts, watching social media videos, or all three is your thing - you should be covered.20-30GB Only smartphone junkies that need regular (and hefty) data fixes need bother with this avalanche of GBs. You'll be able to rinse Netflix, Spotify and online games without too much fear of topping out.The SIM-only plans on this page are checked regularly, so make sure you visit often if you want to get the most up-to-date information on the plans that are currently available! http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/digital-home/~4/dao1tFf1VcE
