  1. Google is engaged in an ongoing battle against the misuse of its YouTube video platform, with the tech giant changing its policies around what content is allowed on its service on a semi-regular basis. The latest amendment to what’s known as YouTube’s “hate speech policy” specifically prohibits “videos alleging that a group is superior in order to justify discrimination, segregation or exclusion based on qualities like age, gender, race, caste, religion, sexual orientation or veteran status.” The YouTube blog post announcing this policy change points at “videos that promote or glorify Nazi ideology” as a specific example of content that will be banned, citing it as “inherently discriminatory”. On top of this metric, YouTube videos that feature “content denying that well-documented violent events, like the Holocaust or the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary, took place”, will also be removed. YouTube is disabling comments on videos featuring childrenYouTube bans 'harmful or dangerous' prank videosYouTube could disable downvotes to stop 'dislike mobs' spamming videosHere’s how Google will punish users that are deemed to have any content on their channels that violates the aforementioned hate speech policy: “If your content violates this policy, we’ll remove the content and send you an email to let you know. If this is the first time you’ve posted content that violates our Community Guidelines, you’ll get a warning with no penalty to your channel." "If it’s not, we’ll issue a strike against your channel. Your channel will be terminated if you receive 3 strikes. If we think your content comes close to hate speech, we may limit YouTube features available for that content.” Google's got a new strategy for combating online terrorismOngoing struggleGoogle first announced a tougher stance on terrorist, hate speech and discriminatory content in 2017, where the internet giant grappled with the reality of operating a free and open system while still being able to monitor it for harmful activity. Since then, Google has increasingly tightened its rules on the type of content that is allowed to appear on its platforms, such as YouTube, and heightened its efforts in moderating such media. Today, the strategy for moderation relies on removing content that explicitly breaches its policies, reducing the spread of “borderline” content (which could contain harmful misinformation, for instance) by demoting it, raising up authoritative voices by promoting them in recommended videos and such, and rewarding trusted creators with monetization. 2. In an effort to keep up with the kids, Netflix is currently testing a new 'Extras' feed in its app that offers Instagram-style content, the service confirmed via Variety. The best upcoming TV shows and movies on NetflixWhich Netflix plan is for you?Netflix will be talking games development at E3 2019The Extras feature, which replaces the app's current 'Coming Soon' tab, provides trailers, image galleries and stories based around Netflix Originals which subscribers can scroll through and share with their friends via WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram Stories and more. Additionally, the Extras tab allows users to set reminders for upcoming movies and shows and also directly add content that's already available to their lists. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/7CQuwEqLLrS3xjrEnapt5U.jpg “We are testing a feed of video extras in our mobile app to help fans connect more deeply with the titles they love and discover new ones to watch," said a Netflix spokesperson, further stating that, "these tests typically vary in length of time and by region, and may not become permanent.” At present, the Extras tab is only available to a small subset of users, however, if your Netflix app has recently been updated, you may already have access to the new feature. 3. Footballer Eric Cantona is planning to take a trip into space (perhaps), and has announced it in the only logical way: by unveiling a life-sized levitating statue of himself at London Victoria railway station, England. The monument (puzzlingly described as the world's 'first levitating statue of Eric Cantona’, implying that others will follow) uses magnets to hold the spacesuit-clad sculpture above a model of the Earth. Such floating sculptures aren't unusual in modern art galleries, but this might be the largest to date. Everything you need to know about Blue OriginYour complete guide to SpaceXVirgin Galactic: Branson reaches for the starsSo why, you might ask, would Cantona blast off in the first place? To promote beer, of course. His trip is part of a (tenuous) promotion with beer brand Kronenbourg, to prove that its lager “is ‘le taste supreme’ in the entire universe”. Or perhaps notIt seems unlikely that Cantona is actually planning to enter orbit. In a mock press conference, the footballer announced his intentions (complete with Gallic shrug) in front of a parody NASA sign reading 'ALSASA' – a reference to the Alsace region of France, from which the brewery obtains some of its hops. The idea isn't entirely beyond belief, though – both Elon Musk's SpaceX and Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic plan to take tourists into space in the near future, and Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin is preparing for manned flights to the moon. Whether it's true or not, the statue is still an impressive piece of work. Artists and engineers spent hundreds of hours crafting the model and ensuring it floats gracefully above the globe. Cantona isn’t the first footballer to be immortalized at a public transport hub, but his statue levitates head and shoulders above the much-mocked bronze of Cristiano Ronaldo installed at Madeira Airport last year. 4. After the shock of the Game 1 loss, Golden State Warriors have squared up their seven-game NBA Finals series against the Toronto Raptors. Now the franchises travel to Oakland for the next two games - which way will it turn next? If you’re looking for a Raptors vs Warriors live stream, then you’ve come to the right place. Keep reading and we’ll show you exactly how to watch the 2019 NBA Finals online wherever you happen to find yourself in the world. The Golden State Warriors, swept the Portland Trail Blazers 4-0 in the Western Conference Finals to advance to the final round. The Warriors are back in the Finals for the fifth straight season and the team will be shooting for their third title in a row. If they can pull it off, they’ll be the first team to three-peat since the Los Angeles Lakers pulled off the feat back in 2002. And the likes of Steph Curry and Klay Thompson came up big in Game 2 - who needs Kevin Durant anyway!? For the first time in franchise history, the Toronto Raptors have advanced to the NBA Finals. The team may have lost two games to the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference Finals but thanks to a run led by Kawhi Leonard, the Raptors managed to win Game 6 and earn themselves a spot in the Finals. He really is their key man and he'll be desperate to unlock an NBA Championship crown. Whether you’re rooting for Golden State or Toronto, we’ll show you how to tune into all the action either on your TV or online. Get the info you need in this Raptors vs Warriors live stream guide. If you have Fox Sports, then you'll want to turn to channel 508 for the ESPN channel. If it's a phone or laptop you'd sooner watch from, then there's the ESPN Player instead. Or you can live stream NBA action via the Kayo Sports streaming service, which features no lock-in contracts and also includes access to over 50 sports, both live and on demand. Alternatively, the service also offers a Kayo Sports Premium Package, which provides three concurrent streams for $35 per month. The Foxtel Now and Kayo Sports apps means you can access this from your chosen device wherever you are (although you'll need a VPN if you're taking that abroad). http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/ebGZgkd4qVX7mUuvz3WNkH.jpg http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/digital-home/~4/M1qOki_MEjA
  5. Who needs an airline when you can have a spaceline? Aiming to become the first regular commercial spaceliner, Virgin Galactic founder Sir Richard Branson first promised to take people to space in 2004, and most years since has predicted that his ‘spaceliner of the future’ was on the cusp of beginning service. However, impressive progress is being made and in December 2018, Virgin Galactic's VSS Unity supersonic spacecraft finally reached space. In February 2019, it went even higher. Next up: real, live, space tourism trips? http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/HFpkQgKiAX6f83EhnYTtVS.jpg This is the view you’ll get from the VSS Unity (Image credit: Virgin Galactic ) When will Virgin Galactic start space tourism and how much will it cost?Branson says he expects to fly on the company’s SpaceShipTwo suborbital vehicle in 2019, possibly on July 16 to mark 2019's 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 launch. About 600 'future astronauts' are signed up and have each put down a $20,000 (about £15,000, AU$30,000) deposit, though the final cost of tickets is $250,000 (about £190,000, AU$360,000). http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/zS679TXTCjsMJd2nJtajFP.jpg VSS Unity takes off attached to its mothership (Image credit: Virgin Galactic) Who owns Virgin Galactic and where is it based?Virgin Galactic is part of the Virgin Group, which is owned by British billionaire entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson. The Virgin Group also includes the likes of Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Holidays, Virgin Radio, Virgin Rail, Virgin Money and Virgin Mobile, as well as Virgin Hyperloop One, which is trying to build an ultra-high-speed ‘people pipeline’. Virgin Galactic has two sister companies, Virgin Orbit (which launches small satellites from a Boeing 747) and The SpaceShip Company, which builds and tests the VSS Unity. A major investor in all three was supposed to be Saudi Arabia at US$1 billion, but that was cancelled by Branson after the murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey in October 2018. Virgin Galactic is, for now, based at the Spaceport America Mojave Air & Space Port in Mojave, California, but plans to move soon to Spaceport America in New Mexico. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/64VphnhYQLgX52XpLkf5jX.jpg VSS Unity reached space for a second time in February 2019 in the skies above Mojave, California (Image credit: Virgin Galactic) What are Virgin Galactic's long-term goals? An incredibly ambitious man and expert self-publicist, Branson is less gung-ho about space than Elon Musk at SpaceX and Jeff Bezos at Blue Origin. "Your lives will be transformed by space," he wrote in after SpaceShipTwo made it to space for the first time in December 2018. "It will give your generation the planetary perspective on which the future of humanity rests, that we're all in this together on spaceship Earth."Branson believes that as many people as possible need to see the curvature of the Earth from space to get a taste of the powerful 'overview effect' that many astronauts report feeling after coming back from space. If we all see Earth from space, we are all soon realise how irrelevant national boundaries and cultural differences are. That's a pretty different perspective to that of Musk and Bezos, who both want to go much further than the edge of the Earth's atmosphere. Branson is all, and pretty much only, about suborbital space tourism. Yes, it costs $250,000 (about £190,000, AU$360,000) for now, but the aim is to get the price drastically down in the future. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/L4t6NvbE76XUt4KwwkRwuC.jpg VSS Unity is a supersonic spaceplane with eight seats (Image credit: Virgin Galactic) Virgin Galactic's VSS Unity supersonic suborbital spaceplaneVirgin Galactic is very serious about space tourism. Its VSS Unity spaceplane is a supersonic vehicle designed and built by sister company The Spaceship Company, which is part-owned with Scaled Composites. It's based on Scaled Composites' SpaceShipOne, the first manned private rocket to reach space, in 2004 (VSS Unity and its forbear VSS Enterprise were formerly called SpaceShipTwo). It has two seats for the pilots and six for passengers, but how it gets to space is unusual. It gets part of the way to space while attached to the undercarriage of a custom-made carrier aircraft called VMS Eve (formerly called WhiteKnightTwo) before it detaches and launches itself into space. The Spaceship Company now has two more spaceships like VSS Unity for the start of commercial service, named VSS Etta and VSS Artie, but there is only one VMS Eve. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/BWBFVH49u3XR32DJz73yb4.jpg Sir Richard Branson with pilots Mark Stucky and Michael Masucci after VSS Unity’s first successful mission to space (Image credit: Virgin Galactic) The test program so farVSS Unity has successfully been to space twice. It first did so in December 2018 when pilots Mark Stucky and Michael Masucci (plus some NASA payloads and a mannequin called Annie) reached 51.4 miles. In February 2019 it reached space for the second time. It was VSS Unity's fifth rocket-powered flight test flight, and onboard this time were three people; pilots Dave Mackay and Masucci, plus Beth Moses, Virgin Galactic’s Chief Astronaut Instructor. 'Astronaut wings' go to anyone who reaches 50 miles, though since the Kármán line at 62 miles up is generally accepted to be where space begins, that’s probably where Virgin Galactic is ultimately aiming to reach. However, the test program hasn't been without problems. There have been two dramatic setbacks that have cost four lives, most recently co-pilot Michael Alsbury during an accident in October 2014. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/j7WMKnhhcqKu9ZsWWY8jLG.jpg The curvature of Earth from space during VSS Unity’s second trip to space in February 2019 (Image credit: Virgin Galactic) What will Virgin Galactic space tourists experience?Supersonic speeds, weightlessness, a view of the curvature of Earth, then more supersonic speeds. However, it's all pretty different from what Blue Origin is on the cusp of offering with its vertical take-off New Shepherd suborbital rocket. Six Virgin Galactic customers will arrive at Spaceport New Mexico four days before the scheduled flight for medical checks, safety training, and G-force and microgravity simulation (which may involve virtual and augmented reality). http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/3ywkjUJwbWJeJHU2kiCcEg.jpg VSS Unity’s second trip to space (Image credit: Virgin Galactic) The trip to space and backOn the fourth day, after getting strapped into their reclining seats in VSS Unity, the mothership VMS Eve will take-off on a runway and climb to 50,000 feet Now comes the fun bit; VSS Unity detaches and fires its rocket-powered engines for 63 seconds, surging towards space at three-and-a-half times the speed of sound. That in itself will be an incredible experience for any ‘space tourist’, but it's also followed by four minutes of weightlessness, and a chance to see the Earth from space, before a descent at five times the speed of sound. That will be some rush. Finally, the VSS Unity will land back on the runway at Spaceport New Mexico, some two-and-a-half hours after it took-off. A four-day commitment and a 2.5-hour ride make Virgin Galactic's space tourism experience far longer than the 11 minutes Blue Origin could soon offer. Is Virgin Galactic worth the $250,000? It looks like a bargain to us. Blue Origin: everything you need to knowhttp://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/digital-home/~4/kD7mXJEvEN0
  6. Getting hold of an email account is easy. Sign up with an ISP and you’ve got one account for starters. Creating an account with Google and other big names will get you more. Buy a decent web hosting package and you'll probably get enough email addresses to power a large business, all for no extra charge. Getting the right email account is more difficult, as there's a lot to consider. What are the spam filters like? How easy is it to keep your inbox organized? Can you access the account from other email clients? And what about using the service with a custom domain and address of your own (yourname@yourdomain.com)? Keep reading and we'll highlight some of the best email providers around. All have decent free services, perhaps with ads and some limits, but we'll also talk about their business-friendly commercial products which deliver the power, functionality and enterprise-level extras that demanding users need. Yahoo Mail asks for your name and mobile number, for instance. Gmail and other services might scan your messages to carry out useful actions (such as adding events to calendars), and just about everyone serves you with ads. ProtonMail is a Swiss-based email service which focuses on privacy above all else. You can sign up anonymously, there's no logging of IP addresses, and all your emails are end-to-end encrypted, which means there's no way ProtonMail (or anyone else) can read their contents. Also, address verification (which allows you to be sure you are securely communicating with the right person) and full support for PGP email encryption is available. In late April 2019, elliptic curve cryptography was introduced, which adds additional security and faster speeds. There are some significant limits. The free product has a tiny 500MB storage space, only supports sending 150 messages a day, and is distinctly short in terms of organizational tools (no folders, labels or smart filters). As the end-to-end encryption is specific to ProtonMail, it also ensures that you can't use the service with other email clients. Still, it seems a little unfair to complain about a service which is no-strings-attached free, and doesn't even show ads. In reality, ProtonMail is a specialist tool which is intended for use alongside services like Gmail – not to replace them – and overall it performs its core tasks very well. If you do need more, ProtonMail's $5 (you can choose to pay in USD, Euro and CHF) a month (or $48 yearly) Plus account gives you 5GB storage, a 1,000 message-per-day allowance, custom domains (you@yourdomain.com) and support for folders, labels, filters as well as some addition features like contact groups. A further Professional plan brings more storage, email addresses and a second custom domain, as well as adding a catch-all email address and multi-user support. It's priced from $8 per month per user (75$ yearly), which is reasonable if you need ProtonMail's security, although it's also notably more expensive than the business accounts of the big-name competition. You can sign up for ProtonMail herehttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/684e36528eca45e1971880b3630342db.jpg http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/SeTHj2aKshQ92UwRGpu3XE.jpg Image credit: Google First released back in 2004, Google's Gmail has become the market leader in free email services with more than a billion users across the globe. Gmail's stripped-back web interface is a highlight. Most of the screen is devoted to your inbox, with a minimum of toolbar and other clutter. Messages are neatly organized via conversations for easier viewing, and you can read and reply to emails with ease, even as a first-time user. There's plenty of power here. Dynamic mail makes Gmail more interactive, with the ability to take action directly from within the email, like filling out a questionnaire or responding to a Google Docs comment. Messages can be automatically filtered into tabbed categories like Primary, Social and Promotions, helping you to focus on the content you need. Leading-edge spam blocking keeps your inbox free of junk, you can manage other accounts from the same interface (Outlook, Yahoo, any other IMAP or POP email), and there's 15GB storage for your inbox, Drive and photos. You can also access Gmail offline, although you'll need Google Chrome for that to work. Furthermore, there is a neat snooze feature that allows you to, well, snooze an email for a specified amount of time (it also automatically labels that email as important). Other features are more questionable. Instead of organizing messages into folders, for instance – a simple metaphor which just about every user understands – you must filter them using a custom labelling system. This works, and has some advantages, but isn't popular with all users. Still, Gmail is an excellent service overall, and a good first choice for your email provider. Google makes a paid business-oriented version of Gmail available in the shape of its G Suite product. This more professional product drops the ads and allows using a custom email address on your domain (yourname@yourcompany.tld). Business-oriented migration tools can import mail from Outlook, Exchange, Lotus and more. Storage space doubles to 30GB on the Basic plan, and you get unlimited group email addresses, 99.9% guaranteed uptime and 24/7 support. G Suite is Google's answer to Microsoft Office, so of course you also get apps for working with documents, spreadsheets and presentations. Shared calendars keep you better organized, there's video and voice conferencing for online meetings, and again, there’s 24/7 support to keep your system running smoothly. This more Office-like power makes for a more expensive product than the email-only competition, with prices starting at $6 a user for the simplest plan. You're getting a lot for your money, though, and if you'll use G Suite's features then it could be a smart choice. A 14-day free trial provides an easy way to help you find out. You can sign up for Gmail hereCheck out the best web hosting services for 2019http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/684e36528eca45e1971880b3630342db.jpg http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/GqeCXuJKRU4jcnxmZoXWdc.jpg Image credit: Microsoft Outlook's web interface follows the same familiar style as its desktop incarnation, and most other email clients: folders and organizational tools on the left, the contents of the current folder in the center, and a simple preview pane on the right (with adverts in the case of the free account). A toolbar gives you speedy access to common features, and right-clicking folders or messages shows you just about everything else. If you've ever used another email client, you'll figure out the key details in moments. Despite the apparent simplicity, there's a lot going on under the hood. The service automatically detects important emails and places them in a Focused Inbox, keeping any distractions out of sight. Events including flights and dinner reservations can automatically be added to your calendar. It's easy to share that calendar with other Outlook.com or Office 365 users, or you can save your events to a Family calendar that everyone can access. Excellent attachment support includes the ability to directly share OneDrive files as copies or links. You can also attach files directly from your Google Drive, Dropbox and Box accounts, and a chunky 15GB mailbox allows storing plenty of files from other people. This all worked just fine for us, but if you're unhappy with the service defaults, there's a chance they can be tweaked via Outlook.com's Settings dialog. This doesn't have quite as many options as Gmail, but they're well organized and give you plenty of control over layout, attachment rules, message handling and more. If that’s still not enough, Microsoft offers a bunch of app-based integrations to take the service further. You get built-in Skype support via the beta, and apps give you easier access to Evernote, PayPal, GIPHY, Yelp, Uber and more. Upgrading to Office 365 gets you an ad-free inbox, 50GB mail storage and a vast 1TB of OneDrive storage. Extras include offline working, professional message formatting tools, phone or chat-based support, file recovery from malicious attacks like ransomware and more. Oh, and the latest versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. All this can be yours for the equivalent of $7 a month on the single user Office 365 Personal plan or you can pay 70$ for a year. You can sign up for Outlook herehttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/684e36528eca45e1971880b3630342db.jpg http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/f96pNDEKxZms44SuU8DjS6.jpg Image credit: Yahoo Yahoo Mail doesn't make the headlines so much, these days, but its latest version is a polished and professional service which stands up well against the top competition. The well-designed interface resembles Gmail, at least initially, with a large view of your inbox, one-click filters for common messages and content (Photos, Documents, Travel), and easy browsing of all the emails in a conversation. But you can also organize mails into custom folders, and the layout can be tweaked to display a message preview in a couple of clicks. Mobile users have some additional features like the option to unsubscribe to newsletters and such, without ever leaving the Yahoo Mail inbox. A powerful underlying engine can integrate with Facebook, supports sending SMS and text messages, is accessible via web, POP and (in some situations) IMAP, and can forward email to another address. Valuable extras include disposable email addresses to protect your privacy, and a mammoth 1TB of mailbox storage means you can keep just about everything you receive, for a very long time. Demanding users might find issues, over time. Mail organization can't quite match the flexibility of Gmail's labelling scheme, for instance, and there aren't nearly as many low-level tweaks, settings and options as you'll often see elsewhere. But overall, Yahoo Mail is an appealing service which needs to be on your email shortlist. As with other providers, Yahoo offers a Business Mail plan with more features. The highlight is an option to use the service with a custom domain (yourname@yourdomain.com), although there are other advantages, too. The service can import contacts from Facebook, Gmail, Outlook and more. You can view all your mailboxes on the same screen, and there are all the usual business-friendly productivity tools (multiple calendars, document handling, analytics and more). Prices start from $3.19 per mailbox per month, billed annually, and they drop as you add mailboxes – $1.59 for 5, $1.19 for 10, and for 20+ you'll need to contact them. Additionally, another pricing plan called Yahoo Mail Pro is available at $3.49 per month. This gives you ad-free inbox, priority customer support and additional features. There's even a free domain name included, and not just the initial registration: Yahoo will also renew it for as long as your subscription is active. Zoho's free plan supports up to 25 users, although there's an extra 25 available if you can refer others to the service (update: Zoho is currently remodeling the referral program so this isn't available at the moment), each with 5GB of mailbox storage, and can be used with one domain of your own. These are features you'll normally only find in commercial products, and when you factor in the spreadsheet, word processor, presentation and other tools, it looks like a real bargain. The email service is easy-to-use, and provides a decent set of features to help organize your emails: folders, tags, filters, smart searches, and more. The free plan is still a little basic. It gives you web access only, for instance, and there's no support for email forwarding. Fortunately, the Zoho Standard plan fixes that. A mere $3 per user (paid annually) gets you IMAP and POP access, email forwarding, active sync, multiple domain hosting, domain aliases, 30GB storage, a 30MB attachment limit (up from 25MB with the free plan) and some major improvements elsewhere (the ability to send cloud files to non-Zoho users, for instance). You also have Lite plan which is a cheaper Standard plan ($1 per user) with less features, and a Professional ($6 per user) plan which adds more features. A number of these features are available elsewhere for free, of course, but businesses or anyone who will use the custom domain support or Office tools will find a lot to like here. Well worth a closer look. You can sign up for Zoho hereAlso check out our roundup of the best WordPress hosting providershttp://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/digital-home/~4/o9vh9k9hcvU
  7. Amazon Prime Day is just around the corner, (with some sleuthing, we might have discovered the leaked date) but Amazon is slashing prices now on its best-selling Ring devices. 8. Broadband providers are always trying to battle it out to offer the best deal. Offers on free tech, money off and gift cards are all great incentives that instantly boost the value of any good broadband deal, but nothing can quite the title of 'UK's cheapest fibre broadband deal'. The owner of this prestigious title seems to change about quite frequently. One minute it's the little-known Onestream, next it's the household name Plusnet. But right now, that title belongs to Hyperoptic. Offering average speeds of 30Mb for just £15 (if you use the code FLASH19) Hyperoptic has beaten the prices of every single provider, even bettering some ADSL offers! But of course, with all things this good there is a catch. To get your hands on this ridiculously good value offer, you will have to be in Hyperoptic's coverage range. While that wouldn't be an issue with most ISPs, Hyperoptic currently only covers 1% of the UK. You can head over to Hyperoptic's website to see if you're in the lucky 1% but hurry, the offer ends on June 20. Fall into the majority? Then there is still good news. Now is still a brilliant time to get a fibre broadband deals. We've listed all of the other great offers at the bottom of the page. Rather go all out on your broadband? Check out our broadband and TV deals page for the biggest packages available. This market leading fibre broadband dealHow does this compare to other broadband deals? If you're not able to get Hyperoptic, there are still a tonne of other great offers. The stand-out choice right now comes from BT. Offering average speeds of 50Mb for just £29.99 this is already a pretty great deal. But then throw in the £110 pre-paid Mastercard BT offers and it becomes brilliant value. BT a little bit too expensive? Vodafone has some affordable fibre broadband deals to help you out. At £22 a month, the average speeds of 35Mb from Vodafone are a steal. If you don't mind relying on a bit of cashback, you can go even cheaper than that. Plusnet has an offer of £23.99 a month for average speeds of 36Mb, but throw in the £60 cashback it is currently offering and it becomes nearer to £20.65 a month. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/digital-home/~4/g5kom8UZz0w
  9. Multiple AMD Navi graphics cards have appeared on a leaked certification at the Radio Research Agency in South Korea, potentially signaling several gaming GPUs. We already knew that AMD Navi is real, as it's been revealed at Computex 2019. However, only one Navi GPU, the AMD Radeon RX 5700 series, was shown at the event. This certification, spotted by South Korean site Hardware Battle, hints that there will be up to five. The best gaming PCs are about to get betterWhat will this mean for Nvidia Turing? The AMD vs Nvidia battle is heating upThis shouldn't be too surprising, as AMD graphics cards rarely come out as single products – barring the AMD Radeon VII, of course. So, next week at E3 2019, we might end up seeing a full lineup of AMD Navi GPUs, rather than a single product. At the very least, we expect to see two. Predicting the futureOne of the strangest parts of AMD's Computex keynote is that it compared its new Navi GPUs to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070, rather than going right for the RTX 2080. However, if this certification is to be believed and there are multiple GPUs, will we see a more high-end graphics card next week? Especially taking into consideration that one of the major selling points of AMD Navi GPUs is going to be the performance gains allowed by PCIe 4.0, going for the high end makes sense. Why leverage this impressive generational leap if you're not going to go for the high-end of the marketplace? We doubt that AMD is going to toss out the entire lineup in one go at E3, but we definitely see Team Red launching the Radeon RX 5700 alongside an RX 5800 next week. That high-end part will definitely get more attention on stage, and could make sense why AMD saved it for the biggest gaming show of the year. Plus, we already know that Nvidia has something "Super" up its sleeve, rumored to combat Navi at E3. Next week's traditionally software-focused gaming event is looking more and more like a battle of hardware, and we're so here for it. We can't wait to use AMD Navi to play the best PC gamesVia PCGamesN http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/techradar/digital-home/~4/rk3zl2Avbbw
  10. Every business needs a website, but finding the right website hosting package isn't always easy. Many plans are targeted primarily at home users, and don't have the power that businesses need. Take email, for instance. We've seen hosting plans offer as few as five email addresses for a website, and with inboxes limited to a few hundred megabytes, that’s potentially a major issue for any business. Be sure to check out the email specs of any hosting plan before you sign up. An SSL certificate is a must-have these days for any professional or business website, but these aren't included with every plan. Fortunately, they don't have to be expensive. Many hosts now offer free SSL certificates from the Internet Security Research Group's Let's Encrypt project, and although web stores might need something more, these are perfectly adequate for standard sites. Business websites can't afford to fail – ever – so reliability is key. Choose a Virtual Private Server (VPS) or dedicated hosting plan, if you can afford it, to avoid the hassles of shared servers. Look for support that can be accessed at speed with telephone and live chat available, as well as emails and tickets. You'll probably want a plan that includes automated backups, too, but that's another area where you'll need to check the small print: backups are often an optional extra. Think about an upgrade path, too, especially if you're starting with a basic shared hosting plan. If your business grows then your website needs might also expand, and it will make your life much easier if your chosen host has the add-ons and extras to cope. There's a lot to think about, but fortunately, there are also some excellent hosting providers around that understand exactly what small businesses need. In this article we've highlighted five web hosts who have something to offer everyone, from the smallest home business to demanding corporate users. We've highlighted the best website hosting serviceshttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/p2rJc4XUQgcyPySEUhWp49.jpg Shared hosting is slower and less reliable than VPS and dedicated plans, but it's still perfectly adequate for many simple websites, and the best plans will handle all the main business needs. DreamHost's shared hosting plan scores well on the fundamentals. There are no limits on bandwidth, emails or MySQL databases. Your site is secured by a free Let's Encrypt SSL certificate, and preinstalled WordPress allows you to get a quality site up and running in an afternoon – plus SSD storage as standard will keep performance high. Handy extras include the ability to host unlimited domains from a single account. And in a nice touch, DreamHost doesn't just offer a free domain name with each shared hosting plan (except the monthly plan): there's free privacy protection, too. If you've registered a domain without that, and been inundated with emails and phone calls from ‘website designers’ and assorted scammers, you'll know how valuable that can be. It's a strong all-round package, but if you need more, DreamHost also offers everything from managed WordPress and WooCommerce, to VPS, Dedicated and Cloud Hosting plans. Billing is flexible. You can avoid long-term contracts by signing up for monthly billing, which costs $10.95 (£7.80) a month for shared hosting. Choose the three-year plan and the price drops to $5.95 (£4.60) a month, though. Don't be put off by the longer term: DreamHost products are protected by an exceptional 97-day money-back guarantee, so there's plenty of time to test the service for yourself. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/MAgo8opVrBTPBAtqxYR3Lb.jpg Cloud hosting is a smart technology which spreads your website content across multiple devices, improving redundancy and speeding up load times. It's an interesting idea which has many business benefits, but if you choose wisely, you can try it out for less than the cost of some shared hosting products. HostGator's Business Cloud, for instance, delivers on the business basics with support for unlimited websites, unmetered storage and bandwidth, and a private SSL certificate. As this is a cloud plan, three mirrored copies of your website are spread across multiple devices. If there's a hardware failure, your website can immediately be switched to another server. All HostGator cloud plans give you shared access to a defined level of system resources (CPU time and RAM). Another benefit of cloud hosting is that you can purchase more of these and see the benefit immediately, with no downtime or time-consuming migrations required. The high-end features continue with a distributed Varnish caching setup to accelerate the loading of your static content, freeing up RAM and CPU time for producing dynamic content. Despite all this functionality, HostGator's Business plan is reasonably priced at $9.95 (£7.10) a month for up to 36 months, $17.95 (£12.80) on renewal. Optional extras are also good value, with CodeGuard's daily backups available for $2 (£1.45) a month, and SiteLock's malware scanning service is only $1.67 (£1.20). We've seen other hosts charge two or three times as much for similar functionality. While we've highlighted HostGator's cloud plans here, as an interesting improvement on regular shared hosting, the company also provides managed WordPress hosting, good value VPS packages, dedicated servers and more. There really is something here for everyone. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/n9ceTBEyn2zo7G2gT7EWRe.jpg Hostinger has been around for a long time and over the years it accumulated over 29 million customers. The company above all has very wallet-friendly plans, and these are a great choice for any newcomers. The pricing starts at just $0.80 (£0.63) per month over the 4-year period. Seeing as this is a starter plan, you only get one website and one MySQL database with 100GB bandwidth, but with that price, you can't really complain. That being said, the best option for businesses would be the "Business" plan which gives you lots of features as well as being four times faster than the starter plan. You get unlimited websites, databases, and bandwidth with 30GB SSD disk space. The price is $3.45 (£2.7) per month over a 4-year period. As you can see, you don't get many restrictions and SSL certificate, Cloudflare protection, and daily backups are also included, among other features. The company also has cheap VPS packages with a starting price of $3.95 (£3.1) per month. This has 1 CPU, 1GB RAM, 20GB of storage and 1TB of bandwidth. The high-end tier package gives you 8 CPU, 8GB RAM, 160GB of storage and 8TB of bandwidth, with the price being $29.95 (£23.5) per month. All in all, Hostinger is a capable provider with very cheap plans that can appeal to everyone more or less. If you are not satisfied, the plans are also fully refundable for 30 days. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/5QinJ7aX2JZc2gZgtasZNi.jpg Most business hosting products are focused on power and functionality above ease of use. That's not a problem if you know what you're doing, but small businesses don't always have the technical expertise to manage this kind of hosting, and it could take quite some time and effort to figure out how the service works. GoDaddy Business Hosting is a hybrid product which aims to offer the dedicated resources and similar performance to Virtual Private Server (VPS) hosting, with the simplified cPanel-style management of a shared hosting service. GoDaddy's baseline Launch plan gives you 2GB RAM, one CPU and 60GB of storage, for instance. These resources are solely for the use of your website, which should give you improved and more consistent website performance, no matter what's going on with other sites hosted on your server. Restrictions elsewhere are kept to a minimum, with support for unlimited websites, databases and emails, and unmetered bandwidth. (‘Unmetered’ means there's no fixed limit, but GoDaddy reserves the right to complain if your site is hogging resources.) There's a SSL certificate thrown into the mix, and GoDaddy has included a one-year, one-user subscription to Microsoft Office 365 Business Email. GoDaddy's Enhance plan is available for $34.99 (£18.99 for UK site) a month for the first year, renews at $49.99 (£37.99 for UK site) per month. The Grow plan gives you 3 CPUs, 6GB RAM and 120GB of storage for $44.99 (£25.99 for UK site) a month, renews at $69.99 (£52.99 for UK site) per month. The high-end Expand plan (which is for resource heavy sites) increases RAM to 8GB and storage to 150GB, with 4 CPUs. The price is - $59.99 (£37.99 for UK site) a month, renews at $99.99 (£74.99 for UK site) per month. Overall, the range is a little more expensive than some VPS products, but if you're looking for easy setup and simpler website management, GoDaddy could be worth a look. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/deJchkSvL9gvqVnqSET6XG.jpg Basic shared, cloud and similar hosting plans are easy to use and can deliver good performance, but they also limit your control over the server environment. You can't choose to install Windows, for instance, or do anything else that would affect other websites hosted on the same server. Virtual Private Servers (VPS) are isolated environments which you can tweak, adjust and customize however you like. As a bonus, you also get CPU time and RAM allocated just for you, improving both performance and stability. Liquid Web's starter VPS product gives you two CPUs, 2GB RAM, 40GB SSD space and 10TB bandwidth, for instance, and is priced from $59 (£42) a month. Some hosts have cheaper VPS plans, but that's often because specifications have been trimmed to the bare minimum. Liquid Web takes a more honest approach, with even the most basic plans including items that are often chargeable extras elsewhere. For example, that $59 gets you built-in backups, Gigabit transfers, unlimited sites, a dedicated IP address, CloudFlare CDN, DDoS protection, antivirus, antispam, cPanel/WHM or Plesk Onyx, and more. All VPS plans are highly configurable, with Linux options including CentOS 6, CentOS 7, Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 16.04 and Debian 8, and high-level plans support Windows Server 2012 and 2016. Whatever you're installing will include server management by default, which means Liquid Web will handle maintenance tasks such as operating system updates. Proactive system monitoring allows the company to detect and fix some problems before you even notice them, and speedy, responsive 24x7x365 support will help you with anything else. Factor in the 100% uptime guarantee and generous service level agreements and Liquid Web has a lot of business hosting appeal. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/GC2aBYvpccXfWqJyqKqECV.jpg Dedicated server plans are the top of the standard hosting tree. Instead of sharing resources with others, you get the entire system to yourself, ensuring the best possible performance and reliability. The OVH dedicated hosting range has several benefits, and these start with its choice of data centers. While other providers can typically host your site in just two or three locations, OVH has a far more global reach, with centers available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Poland, Singapore and the UK. Hosting the site nearer to your target audience will improve performance all on its own. Configurability is another highlight. Operating systems supported include CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, CloudLinux, Gentoo, Slackware, ArchLinux, OpenSUSE, Fedora, FreeBSD, SmartOS, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2016, SQL Server, VMware, Citrix Xen, Hyper-V Server and more. Advanced options include support for NVMe, non-volatile memory-based storage which can be five times faster than SSD. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the range of functions on offer. You can get a very capable system for between $74-$137 (£56-£104) annually, and there's plenty of extra power available if you need it. If there's an issue here, it's the OVH website, which does a poor job of presenting your options. There are too many baseline server configurations, they're poorly organized, and it's hard to find what you need or figure out your configuration choices. We found our way around the product range eventually, though, and overall, OVH's extensive set of features and data centers make it a must-see for demanding business users. Apple has packed loads of upgrades into this version, offering you the latest generation of Intel Core i7 and i9 processors with six cores, and it now supports up to 32GB of RAM, making this a very adept laptop for video editing. Discrete graphics are provided by a choice of AMD Radeon Pro GPUs, making this the best laptop for video editing. The innovative Touch Bar makes it easier for videographers to intuitively access commands, while the Retina display on the 15-inch model offers more than enough pixels should you want to edit at native resolution in Full HD on the move. However, if you are editing 4K, then you'll be disappointed by the limited resolution. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/U6D3ofXKriRQ8SrHtFkjL4.jpg http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/kqKBfk8m4RQfnN2GJUTZBL.jpg Image Credit: Huawei While Huawei might not be the first company you think of when it comes to laptops, especially laptops you can use for video editing, that should change with the company's phenomenal MateBook X Pro. It is a gorgeously-designed laptop with a stunning screen (albeit with a rather odd aspect ratio), and it comes packed with cutting edge components, and a battery life that runs rings around many of its rivals. It has plenty of horse power for editing videos, and it's price is very competitive, making it a great alternative to the MacBook Pro if your budget doesn't stretch that far. Where HP manages to score highly is when it comes to sheer value for money when it comes to powerful components, with a high performance processor and gorgeous 4K screen, which makes it one of the best laptops for video editing. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/U6D3ofXKriRQ8SrHtFkjL4.jpg http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/bYyxBQ7BP49EbFZ2Hjh7ZR.jpg Image Credit: Microsoft The Surface Book 2 (13.5-inch) is one of the most powerful 2-in-1 laptops in the world. PhotoLab 2.3 now bundled as standardAside from the new presets, the other major announcement is that Nik Collection 2 now comes with DxO's PhotoLab 2.3 Essential Edition raw-editing software as standard. Previously, DxO PhotoLab 2 was retailing at £99 on its own. The software is said to have been adapted so that users can now access the plugins from the PhotoLab workspace, and support has also been added for many new camera and lens combinations, including the Nikon D3500, Panasonic S1R, Sony A6400 and Canon EOS RP. DxO claims that with this latest update, the total number of supported camera/lens combinations now stands at 47,500 – a full list can be found on DxO's website. Jean-Marc Alexia, VP Product Strategy and Marketing with DxO, said: “By offering our advanced photo editing solution along with the Nik Collection 2, we are giving users access to DxO’s powerful and high-quality raw treatment technology as well as its unparalleled optical corrections, which were developed over 15 years of measurements and analyses conducted in its laboratory.” Right now you can grab the Nik Collection 2 for $99 / £87 and $60 / £50 if you already own the precious version and just need to upgrade. These prices will shoot up to $149 / £125 and $79 / £69 on June 30. DxO PhotoLab 2.3 is also available in Essential and Elite flavors, priced at $129 / £112 and $199 / £169 respectively, although if you already own DxO PhotoLab 2 you can download it without paying a penny. It promises great speed at a low price, with a Snapdragon 710 chipset, 6.3-inch Full HD+ (2340 x 1080) display, dual 16MP + 5MP rear cameras, a 25MP front camera, Android 9 and a 4,045mAh battery. You'll be able to pick the Realme 3 Pro up in two variants, with the entry-level 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage model setting you back £175. 15. The launch of the Samsung Galaxy Home has been rather stop-start since the Bixby-controlled smart speaker was first announced in August 2018 – but now we might have a release date to look forward to. Sort of... Speaking to the Korea Herald, Kim Hyun-suk, one of Samsung's co-CEOs and the President of the Consumer Electronics division, said that the company is aiming for a "mid-second half of the year" launch. If that sounds confusing, "other Samsung executives" told the Herald to "expect a Q3 rollout", according to Phone Arena. Best smart speakers 2019Read our Samsung Galaxy Buds reviewNeed something more portable? Try one of the best Bluetooth speakers 2019The Samsung Galaxy Home was initially slated for an April 2019 release, but as the month came and went, it became clear that the spaceship-looking rival to the Amazon Echo, Apple HomePod and Google Home wouldn't be landing anytime soon. A focus on audioEven if the Galaxy Home does arrive in the next few months, we still don't know which territories it will be available in – it was rumored last year that the Bixby-controlled smart speaker would come to "China, Korea, and the US ahead of other markets", but it's unclear whether Samsung will stick to that rollout strategy. As Phone Arena points out, a Q3 release date could coincide with the expected August launch of the Galaxy Note 10. We got a brief first look at the speaker in August 2018, which sports a rather odd shape, like the bulb of a flower resting on three silver pegs that act as a stand. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/G88vKsBg6RVZQXQL6DHzFH.jpg Image credit: TechRadar Right now, not much is known about the audio quality on the Samsung Galaxy Home, but we do know it's powered by Harman's AKG audio, and contains eight microphones for far-field voice recognition, so you can talk to Samsung's voice assistant Bixby from across the room. At the launch, Samsung revealed it had teamed up with Spotify to help you seamlessly switch from one device to another without skipping a beat on your music. The feature is enabled through the Samsung Smart Things app and allows you to walk into your home listening to Spotify on your Samsung phone and automatically connect it to your speaker or smart TV the second you walk into the room. Whether we will actually get to see these features in action before the end of this year remains to be seen – after all, Samsung doesn't have a great record for meeting its release dates so far. 16. Samsung often releases new color choices for its phones a few months after launch, and for the Galaxy S10 range we're being introduced to Cardinal Red. Samsung's Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus are both now available in the red shade, but so far it's only on sale in Switzerland. Often Samsung will only release certain colors in limited markets, and rumors suggest this version will only be available in Western Europe and Russia. Of those, sources say it will come to Russia soon, but we've yet to learn whether the UK will fall under the banner of Western Europe for this release. Rumors of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10Have you seen the OnePlus 7?Our official best camera phone rankingThere's also no word on whether Samsung will offer this red option in the US or Australia, but we'll be sure to update you once we hear the official word on availability. Cardinal Red is also limited to the 128GB models of the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus. If you want more storage, you won't be able to get such a bold color choice. Another rumor also suggests the Samsung Galaxy S10e will be getting a Cardinal Red paint job, but that has yet to be made available in Switzerland. Many looking for a new shade will be happy to know the red version of Samsung's latest flagship is now officially a thing, but the wait may be a little bit longer than we expected for you to be able to buy it. 18. Recently both Xiaomi and Oppo have teased phone screens that have the front-facing camera hidden inside them, so there’s no punch-hole, notch or any other visible break in the display. However, it could be quite a long time until Samsung uses this technology. At least, that’s the impression @UniverseIce gives in a tweet, saying that the technology will take a long time to mature. They add however that punch-hole cameras should get smaller in the meantime. Apparently they will drop to under 4mm in the second half of this year (which could mean the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will have a punch-hole camera of that size), then continue to shrink until they’re just 1mm in the next 1-2 years. See what we think of the Samsung Galaxy S10 5GRead our full Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus reviewThe iPhone 11 is coming this yearTechnically @UniverseIce doesn’t mention Samsung by name here, but they’re known largely for their accurate Samsung leaks, and they do talk about Super AMOLED screens here, which is a tech Samsung uses. It would make sense that Samsung wouldn’t be the first to make a phone with an under-display camera, and instead wait for the tech to mature a bit first, like it did to some extent with in-display fingerprint scanners. So reading between the lines we might get phones from some companies with under-display cameras soon, but if this source is right then Samsung probably won’t launch such a phone until the Samsung Galaxy S12 or even the Samsung Galaxy S13 in 2-3 years. From the minuscule X-T30 mirrorless model and the X100F compact through to its GFX medium-format monsters, the X-Pro2 has been around to witness all of their arrivals. And while we're pretty confident it will eventually see an X-Pro2 successor itself, quite when that will happen has been anyone's guess. Camera rumors 2019: the biggest and best camera rumors aroundThe 10 best mirrorless cameras right nowRead our in-depth Fujifilm X-T3 reviewRecent rumblings, however, suggest we won't have much longer to wait. Trusty camera-leaking website Nokishita states that a camera with the product code 'FF190002' has been registered by the company with regards to its Bluetooth capabilities. Nokishita notes the similarity between this product code and those of the existing X-T3 (FF180003) and X-T30 (FF180006). We don't know a great deal about it right now, save for the fact that it has Bluetooth 4.2, something Fujifilm has incorporated into recent models like the X-T30 and X-T3. What we expecthttp://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/8YuyeZBBuqC6judiZ3GJfX.jpg The X-Pro2 was launched in 2016. Image credit: Fujifilm Much has changed since the launch of the X-Pro2, and while the company has issued a handful of firmware updates to keep it relevant over its lifetime – adding 4K video, boosting the autofocus system and so on – these can only do so much to keep the model current. The camera uses the previous-generation 24MP X-Trans CMOS III sensor and older X-Processor Pro engine, rather than the 26.1MP sensor and X-Processor 4 engine we've seen inside more recent models. It also uses the older 2.36 million-dot panel inside its hybrid optical/electronic viewfinder, in contrast to the 3.69 million-dot panel on newer models. It's likely Fujifilm will retain the same X-Pro form for the body as before, rather than adopt the more SLR-like body of the X-T series, although we hope the company revises its awkward shutter speed/ISO dial. Many will no doubt be expecting a tilting LCD screen too, rather than one fixed to the rear panel. Want 100MP images? 20. According to the Department of Transport, around 327 billion miles were driven on the UK’s roads in the year ending September 2018. While car traffic was at its highest recorded level ever in the UK, our need to stay mobile is also driving widespread adoption of new means of personal transport, raising fresh concerns about safety for all road users. The latest technologies directly integrated into vehicles can go a long way towards improving some safety issues. The streets and pavements of our major cities are starting to look like jungles teeming with new contraptions. Along with concerns about traffic congestion, people are turning to different ways of travelling, from electric bicycles to scooters and hoverboards to Segways. Global sales of electric two-wheel scooters are predicted to increase from 34.4 million in 2016 to 55 million in 2024, according to Global Market Insights, suggesting that our choices of transport will continue to evolve at a rapid rate. While electric scooters offer cost benefits and convenience in traffic congested cities, they are also fuelling questions about whether we need to re-think road safety as cars and lorries share space with a wide and diverse range of new transport methods. Although fully self-driving cars are not yet on the roads, many new cars are designed with a range of autonomous features to make driving easier and safer. They have faster reaction times than humans and with V2X connectivity, will eventually communicate with other vehicles, road users and pedestrians to anticipate any dangers and know what is ahead. In cars, camera and radar technologies, along with lidar (laser radar), are already being used to enhance driving experience and have particularly strong potential to improve elements of road safety. For example, the automated parking system in the Nissan Leaf helps avoid accidents caused by human error, by making it easier to detect pedestrians, cyclists and those on scooters in blind spots around the car. According to the latest statistics for road safety in 2017, 73 pedestrians and 10 cyclists were killed in Greater London and many more seriously injured. Potentially, some of these lives could have been saved using automated methods of detection. These new technologies also make it possible to control speed as appropriate to the environment, keep vehicles moving in the correct direction, avoid collisions and visualise the area around the car to help with manoeuvres. Soon, they will even be able to analyse how tired a driver is as well as their concentration level, alerting or advising them to take a break before continuing their journey. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/oseQriFRESWwBefNgH74UP.jpg Image credit: Pexels Safer mobility todayVehicles using new technologies, whether cars, buses, vans or even heavy goods vehicles, are already available – and are becoming commonplace, offering safer mobility than ever before. The roll-out of new technology in vehicles needs to be backed by regulation. One of the key initiatives for this is the extension of the European Commission’s list of obligatory components in personal and heavy goods vehicles. In April 2018, the European Union made the eCall emergency call system compulsory in all new cars sold within the EU. In addition, cruise control that reads and conforms to speed limit signs and a system that alerts the driver when they accidently stray from their lane are in discussion. The EU, governments and car manufacturers need to keep up the momentum on these regulations. New car technologies are a fundamental part of building smart cities of the future. While autonomous vehicles still have a long way to go, intelligent features built into vehicles will inevitably help to vastly improve safety for all road users and establish a practical transport infrastructure. Receiving special dispensation to allow their IPL superstars time to recover from the T20 razzmatazz, they get started today against a South Africa team who have had the worst possible start to their campaign. And you're in the right place to discover how to get a South Africa vs India live stream, regardless of where you are in the world. They may only have just arrived in this competition, but India scarcely require an introduction. Winners of this competition in 1983 and 2011, they have a fearsome looking line-up in every department of their team. Captain Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are probably their most capable and consistent ODI batsmen, while Jasprit Bumrah's bowling brilliance has elevated him to the top of the world rankings in this format. And then there's wily veteran wicket-keeper MS Dhoni, too. The Men in Blue will take some beating in this World Cup. If losing to England on the opening day of the tournament was probably expected, getting beaten by Bangladesh at the weekend was an absolute disaster. South Africe won't be sorry to have gotten away from The Oval and down to Southampton, where they need to start winning...and quickly. There's still no liklihood of seeing Dale Steyn on the team-sheet, so the likes of Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi will need to up their game with the ball. It will be on captain Faf du Plessis to rally his troops and get the likes of Hashim Amla, Aiden Markram and Quinton de Kock firing on all cylinders. 22. Windows 10’s Start menu is one of the most carefully watched and polarizing parts of the operating system’s UI – historically, it has been a very sensitive subject – and apparently Microsoft wants to know how people feel about the current menu, possibly ahead of some revamping work. As Bleeping Computer reports, in the preview builds of Windows 10, Microsoft has implemented a pop-up notification asking testers: “How satisfied are you with the Start menu?” How to install the Windows 10 May 2019 UpdateWindows 10 May 2019 Update problems: how to fix themHow to customize your Windows 10 Start menuYou can then answer giving a rating on a scale of one to five, with one being not satisfied enough, and five being very satisfied. Perhaps most importantly, under that rating, there’s a box which asks for feedback on how Microsoft can make the Start menu better. Feedback friendlyAsking for feedback has been a big thing ever since Nadella took the reins of the company, as Microsoft wants to be seen as a firm that listens, particularly after Windows 8 (where it was perceived as a company which flew in the face of what people wanted with the new OS at the time). Microsoft has previously solicited feedback from testers on the taskbar and other components of Windows 10. It’s not a completely wild shot in the dark to guess that Microsoft is planning further work on the Start menu soon – possibly even a larger overhaul – which is why it wants to gather a good range of opinions from the testing public, as well as internal staff. The recent May 2019 Update made a number of tweaks to the Start menu, with some streamlining to make it less cluttered, and the ability to get rid of more pre-installed apps. Also, some technical wizardry under the bonnet means that the menu should now run more smoothly and be more stable. The company made the news via its live keynote address at its WWDC 2019 conference in San Jose, California. The company's head of software Craig Federighi showed off the new name and look for macOS during the keynote, confirming that this version will kill off iTunes in lieu of new apps for Apple Music, Apple Podcasts and Apple TV. The new apps for macOS that rise from its ashes are Apple Music, Apple TV and Apple Podcasts – enhanced versions of those that appear on iOS. Apple Music will allow macOS users access to their entire libraries of music regardless of whether the tracks have been downloaded via streaming. This is also where music ripped from CDs will live, incorporated into the same libraries. Apple TV will feature the app's channels and more than 100,000 iTunes movies and TV shows to browse, buy or rent. All of this content will be available in 4K HDR video and Dolby Atmos audio wherever it's offered. Finally, Apple TV+ will be available through this app once the service launches later this year. Apple Podcasts brings the service's more than 700,00 podcasts as well as new episode updates to the Mac in a new interface. (Image Credit: Apple) Sidecar turns your iPad into another displayThis is probably the most exciting update to macOS with Catalina 10.15: the ability to extend your Mac's display to a nearby iPad wired or wirelessly. Perhaps even more importantly, this connected iPad can also be used as a drawing tablet with various specifically supported apps. Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Illustrator and iWork are the first apps mentioned to support this feature. It's currently unknown which iPad models will work with Macs using the Sidecar feature, but it's likely that those models will have to run the new iPadOS releasing later this year. This functionality will come to macOS with Catalina with a new “One more minute” feature, which gives you more time to save your work or finish up a game. This information will be synced across your iPhone and and iPad, giving you a complete profile of how often you stare at your collective screens and guidance on what to do with that information. The feature will also include parental controls on time spent using a Mac as well as with whom children are able to communicate with. http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/vqKDMUCGLjx6GgvyzmVHHP.jpg Twitter's return to macOS was made possible by Project Catalyst. (Image Credit: Apple) Project Catalyst – is this Marzipan? It appears that what was formerly referred to in rumors and leaks as "Project Marzipan," Apple's master plan for bringing more apps from the iPhone and iPad to the Mac, is now known as Project Catalyst. For developers, it all seems to start with simply checking off a box within the Xcode app in macOS Catalina. Once that is done, a series of new features and protocols become available to the app in the development phase, from which the developer can choose to add to their apps – presumably with additional coding. However, it appears to be rather seamless and speedy, with even Twitter using the tool to quickly bring its native app back to macOS from iOS. Other fun improvementsSafari browser will have a new startup page that uses Siri Suggestions to surface commonly visited websites, bookmarks, iCloud tabs and more. Mail will soon allow users to block messages from senders, mute message threads from issuing push notifications and send unsubscribe requests from within the app to mailing list providers. 25. The latest Steam hardware survey is out, and it looks like Nvidia Turing graphics cards are ever so slowly gaining market share. The gains are led by the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060, which saw a 0.14% boost in May, but don't let that mislead you, it's still only installed in 0.65% of Steam users' gaming PCs. The most popular Nvidia RTX graphics card is the RTX 2070, which saw a 0.10% boost, up to 0.91% of the total Steam user base. Check out our PC components guideWe'll show you how to build a PCPair a new RTX card with the best Intel processorsTaking up the tail end of the RTX gains is the ultra-powerful Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, which only saw a measly 0.04% increase in users - and, to date, only 0.33% of Steam users have forked over the $1,199 (£1,099, AU$1,899) necessary to pick up this flagship. Nvidia Pascal graphics cards are still the most popular, and while they didn't see any growth, the ever-popular GTX 1060 remained flat at its 15.69% market share. Nvidia has claimed that its Turing graphics cards are making more revenue than Pascal did, but that's likely due to the inflated prices. What does it mean?In April, we reported on a Steam hardware survey that saw much more significant gains for Nvidia's graphics cards, wherein the RTX 2060 saw a 0.27% boost. Are less people buying graphics cards? It could be that people are waiting for AMD Navi, which not only promises similar performance to something like the RTX 2070, but should be able to be more power efficient, thanks to its 7nm architecture. Team Red's new GPUs launch next month, so maybe we'll see a shift in the graphics card market. Nvidia Turing graphics cards may just be too expensive for most users, too: the entire lineup is infamous at this point for its inflated prices. That might help explain why the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti is already at 0.28% of the market just a couple months after its release. Either way, things are about to heat up in the graphics card space when AMD shows Navi off at E3 2019. Who knows?
