  1. hey, didnt wanna be opening a new thread, is it possible to set somewhere in server cfg that cg_gun_fovscale 0 is already forced when someone join server? same as timenudge is forced to 0 and such? cuz many people got problem with that fov thing cuz in other mods its just cg_fov [number] but in here they gotta disable fovscale 1st and such, and most people dunno about it, so it would be great if that is somehow disabled for everyone when they join server, so setting fov is simple as set cg_fov 120 or so..thx
  2. What I can think of is that the 5 is in use in someones name. Did you try the setlevel using part of the player name? You can also go around such issues using useredit command whic takes the 8 character ids. If that was the case.

    Ok, it seems that the failed issue is related to not being able to fetch from the database. Did you do !userinfo on him. It would display if the issue is that he joined through the 0.5.0 and therefore the unfortunate GUID issue would have effected. In such cases the thing what players need to do is to restart the game and join the server directly.

     

    well he left server till now, so guess we are never gonna found out :D¸, when i try to usersearch for him, shows like he never even was on server :D

  3. Hello, today my friend and I runned out on a wierd problem on server, as usually we give every our visitor level 1, and today we ran out on a guy and we were unable to give him any level, i will post screenshot here:

    Only thing it says about it also is: silent id has invalid length it say''s

     

     

    But as you can see he got normal silent ID and all other players got levels so its not problem about level, also sum of my guys told me that they ran out on that problem before...so any ideas what might be causing it? or its a bug? As you can see player name is "punkt warde"

OK, here's the last nail on N!tmod's coffin: if you change any setting via the menus, it REWRITES your whole autoexec.cfg file with a dump of all your settings (like the etconfig.cfg file all mods create in the player's profile directory). So, if you have an organized autoexec.cfg file (like most people have or should have), with settings grouped by type, with comments, etc., it's all GONE if you change anything via the menus. I don't want to ever touch that #*@*# again and if we switch mods, silEnT will be the new mod. Sorry if I've gone off topic here, but this info might help other admins who, like me, might be trying to decide what mod to choose.

  5. 100% agreed. The ones I find essential are levlist and levinfo, the other two I've never used in Jaymod - I always edit the levels via the config files. As to the abbreviated commands, they're useful but if the way the admin system was written makes them too hard to implement, by all means concentrate on whatever your priorities are now, I don't mind typing the whole commands. :)

  6. Optional (maybe bitflagged) please, I hate both the 1st blood and the 1st headshot announcements, silly and useless. Now the other suggestion about the admin system commands for the levels is very good, actually I think the absence of those commands should be considered a flaw. Didn't get what it has to do with using RCON like Chuckun answered. The whole point of the admin system is err, to be able to admin stuff after being identified by the server according to what's defined in the levels and user databases, independently of RCON authentication.

     

    The [>NF<] Server is running Jaymod+Enhanced mod right now, but I'm considering switching to another mod (silEnT or N!tmod). silEnT is looking like the best option because I really hated what the N!tmod devs did to the flamethrower's flames model and animation, and their implementation of trip mines use... laser beams!?!?! Did that even exist in WW2? On the other hand, they claim to have eliminated the MAX_GAMESTATE_CHARS problem, which for servers with huge rotations like mine is a godsend (if it does work). Also, poison canisters and poison mines are a great addition to the game which even an ET purist like me can appreciate. Oh, and add another vote in favor of the molotovs.

     

    well you can have in silent also laster mines by default, which Ive unliked a lot also, so I just turned em off, there is a easy command to turn em off, I had jaymod too, and switched to silent mod cuz, jaymod is a dead mod, silent mod got so many fixes and improvments its just wonderfull to have it, admins got so much less work to do and so on, recommending u silent mod, u wont make a wrong decission with it.

  7. Indeed were not added in 0.5.1 eventhough I promised then. Maybe went to another test branch or I forgot. At least one other feature disappeared that was in the changelog also. Sorry about this.

     

    Now added to the 0.5.2 version:

    "sound/announces/deaths10.wav"

    "sound/announces/deaths20.wav"

    "sound/announces/send.wav"

    "sound/announces/sendtk.wav"

    "sound/announces/sendsk.wav"

    "sound/announces/sendenv.wav"

     

    Where "send.wav" is spree end by enemy, tk is teamkill, sk is selfkill and env is just spree ended.

     

    these spree's would aready be in a mod folder or we would need to make additional pk3 to use them?

  8. Ok sorry guys for all this circus, it wasnt been working cuz in this whole mess i forgot to set campaign file on that other server, now is all working great, thank you all for your help and sorry for my double/triple posts! :)
  9. ok this is a bit crazy now, ive got it working on my test server,download's it works all perfectly, but when I put it on my public server same file, same all, it doesnt download it all, but my public server and test server are totally the same...
  10. its because menu.tx in axe menu v6 is considering when you join server, but axe menu txt in file ive posted here is considered before you joined a server...still dont kno what 2 do :/
  11. again me, got it partly working, so since my campaign's didnt work out, i took skye.cmapaign hope they wont be angry, nd placed it there instead northafrica bla bla, ok, i renamed pk3 file to cool, first got in my ind, and ok...ive uploaded it on ftp, and when im connecting it does download file, but there is no menu when you quit game or anything, ive deleted all other menu's so now there is just normal ET, but this menu is not wokring, also tried renaming file, but if i rename the excact same file that cool.pk3 to smthing like phone.pk3, and delete the old file from ftp and upload that new1, then again its not getting downloaded,

     

    set g_campaignFile "scripts/skye.campaign"

    my current line in seerver.cfg, anyway, goin 2 sleep now, this thing really tired me off, hope someone would try to look at it, maybe also to test it, since the file is uploaded in 1st post, sign of it working is #AxE|Server icon, above play online icon when u open ET. thanks all, good night.
