    Even if you can hack the level.db in Jaymod, it is undocumented and I didn't know this or bothered looking when I had the Jaymod server. This resulted that I had to use lot of cursing for the Jaymod system while expanding the levels in the middle. As I said, we can add some commands that help making quick fixes or checks while playing on the server, but we will not move to the system Jaymod uses because of it's harder usability. Do note that expanding the levels in silEnT only takes one copy paste block with edits, changing the level numbers of the higher levels, looking up few privilege flags and doing !readconfig or waiting for the map to change. All this while the server is running. This takes only fraction of the time it takes to use Jaymod style level editing commands. Also, the initial setup is faster to do this way. I personally don't believe anyone configures their first install of any mod within 30 minutes to the fully usable state and debates of whether it takes or should take 1 or 2 hours are pointless.
     
    There are many advantages we get from the database system we have now.

If you could have taken a little moment to think, we could have instructed you to do your own changes against ETPub. We could have then reviewed them and seen if they are any worth. Even give the possibility to join our team if you had shown us that you can do good additions without messing up the code. However, even if you would have the skills, which I doubt based on the crap you talk so much, you have no such chance anymore because of your personality.

    I'm writing this post to bring attention since the documentation is not well written around the subject.
     
    Since GUIDs are not trustable at all. Not PB GUIDs or silEnT GUIDs. We included admin level protection system into the 0.5.0 version of the mod. This system effectively limits all benefits from GUID spoofing into gaining XP of the spoofed players. Even private messages are not possible without proper authentication with the server.
     
    The system uses 2 cvars:
     
    g_adminProtection : bitmask
    1 Log succesfull authentications to the cheat log
    2 Log admin spoofing attempts to the cheat log
    4 Report admins waiting for confirmation on their level to the admin chat
     
    g_protectMinLevel : integer
    The minimum level of the protected admins.
     
    To use the system, set the g_adminProtection to 7. This will enable all logging so you can see who authenticates to what level and if the authentication is succesfull or not. Set the g_protectMinLevel to the lowest level you want to protect. Don't set this to too low because it causes little overhead and also the credentials need to be given using online commands on the server.
     
    When the silEnT notices there is an admin connecting to the server who has protected admin level but no credentials, it will report this admin to the admin chat. When this happens, the admin needs to be confirmed with !confirm command by someone who is able to identify the player identity. This only needs to done once for each admin. In the following connections, the silEnT is able to handle the authentications silently itself.
     
    From now on, if someone spoofs the GUID of an admin, he will face the authentication procedure. The silEnT will inform into the admin chat that the player has lost his authentication and !setlevel is required. Do not do the !setlevel unless you know this one is genuinly the correct admin. Also, the !confirm command cannot be used anymore for the reason that the !confirm command can be given to less high admins without risks. If the player spoofing the GUID attempts to spoof the credentials, again the admin chat and cheat log is reported with the spoof attempt.
     
    Important thing to know is that the !confirm command and !setlevel commands do not give credentials during the warmup period. Also, authentication does not operate during warmup but player needs to wait until the end of warmup before he gains access to his admin level. If you do !confrim or !setlevel during the warmup and the player is later on reported to not have yet been confirmed, just do the !confirm again.
     
    I hope this information helps and brings some light to the subject. Feel free to ask questions in this thread and I we will answer those.

    It is a bug the last commands are not always printed. You can notice the !time command is also missing from the !help output with '*' set to the level. Fixed in next version.

    The practical difference is that forcecvars are printed to clients while sv_cvars are not. Also, sv_cvars are checked for each client frame. The forcecvar only once. I would suggest using forcecvar whenever possible and sv_cvar when you feel it is needed. I don't know has there been any reason to select one over the other when creating the default file.

    You are free to use any mod you like. The decision to remove it was collective and it is not coming back without arguments why it should exist in the first place. Yes, I do not understand the need for it and I have never felt it made the game more enjoyable for me. Also, I don't understand why the serverside aimbot in the ETPub was made, which was also removed by collective decision. You might say it is a feature that helps to fight against aimbots. But then again, "I don't see the light".
     
    With that said, ETPub is a fine repository of different techniques, but that does not mean every mod should utilise them all just because they are there. At least silEnT mod is not about these nonconvential features.

    Thank you for the compliments and I especially appreciate them when they come from a very old clan which has given lot of weight in ETPub and to ET overall.
     
    To your argument about cg_damageKick, I don't agree, but I take your argument seriously. The reason why it was removed was indeed that only few players knew about it and not necessarily many admins either. It was giving advantage to players in an exploit kind of way and I personally know ETPub players weren't very willingly telling this secret to other players. We can still see how players find some exploit and they won't tell it to us so they don't lose the advantage. Also, the feature was restricted to only the ETPub which was limiting the knownledge even further as majority of the players come from other backgrounds. Sure it indeed does level the ground against some low tuned aimbots, but it also makes someone look more like an aimbot when he plays against someone playing the mod first times.
     
    So to summarize, it was removed because it was not part of the original game and no other mod supported this either. It was exploit like and limited to only those knowing about it. The argument that it levels the ground against aimbots is not that strong, because it will only level against bots that are tuned very weak and not actually against botters as a whole. There is nothing stopping them tuning the bots little better and then again do the killings.

    We are very sorry about this. We noticed the bug before release but for some reason we forgot it and it passed through. The bug concerns only the menus. With limbo and HUD editor the cursor is visible. You can select the cursor manually with the ui_themedCursor [0|1].
