Server problems.

Hi there!

 

I am having some problems with my server. 

When some random person connects, it takes a while to connect and after a minute of 2, the person disconnects direct.

i have a log file of this action and it says:

Don't know why it takes so long to connect, because i have a redirect.

Does this happen to all players trying to connect? Could be happening because the redirect is missing the file the client is redirected to download.

OR the redirect is super slow and client times out before downloading the file. I had couple of friends hosting their files on YCN redirect and it always had super slow download.

Well it's 5$/month. Try it out. If that resolves the issue then it's redirect. I once had similar problem with redirect provider in 2008 after that i changed my servers redirect.

That's because it's shared overloaded redirect. They are probably on shared 100Mbps port. i.e. 12.5MB/s. Now if their are 30 players downloading from same redirect at same time.... u can easily do maths... I am sure they might be sharing same redirect within 10-20 servers... or else it would never go to 10Kb/s

I'd recommend checking out dedicated server hosting first. I've used gameservers.com in the past as both a redirect and a game host.They are decent for the most part but generally overpriced for what you get. I also had a period of time where the server I was on got constantly flooded and crapped out. Its one of the reasons why I switched over to dedicated hosting. They use better hardware and I've had very few issues.

Iam also having same issue like disconnecting Direct from hp server but troubleshoot problems that you experience when connecting to a report server, information about "Unexpected error" messages.

If it helps, I run map hosting and DNS for a subdomain redirect to the server using https://www.interserver.net/webhosting/.  $5 plan and I googled a code to get the 1st month for $0.01.  So far speeds are amazing, no complaints.

It s always better to choose the right service provider.

Sounds like you’ve been through the server trenches! Totally agree—dedicated hosting is a game-changer. I’d say skip the overpriced drama and go straight for the best dedicated server hosting. I’ve heard HostNoc does a solid job with top-notch hardware and fewer headaches.
