#20102 Customizing of Loading Screen between Maps

Posted by Purple on 26 October 2015 - 08:31 PM

I'm with Dutchman on this.  I don't understand what that statement about reading the logs means.  I suppose it means if you have already overwritten the main loading screen, you'll get something in the logs about how to change it.  What about for people that have never done this?  Thanks.

"IF" the silent mod dev team would be kind enough to give me a copy of it w/o subscription I could make a few quick videos on how-to's in English.

or just wait till official release and I may do them then.

( have a tutorial series for silent mod i just havent finished it all yet. e.g remake of them )

dont have newest version my self, but what i'm assuming is your original image files should have _silent added to the end of them

IIRC:  original names are camp_map.tga camp_side.tga progressbar.tga progressbar_back.tga which are located in gfx/loading/files.tga

AFAIK: rename camp_map to camp_map_silent.tga

Applications: Photoshop, or a more user friendly one is GIMP. but if you already have these files modified this shouldn't be needed. just need to rename them.

but don't quote me on this because I don't have test access to 0.9.0.

#20072 Nametags for Spectators

Posted by Purple on 23 October 2015 - 09:04 PM

Yeah you do not need the commands, but it does not hurt to have them.

And at the time thing, I looked at my posts and only found 1 other one, so I don't think so. :P :rolleyes:

off topic: as much as i smoke all my posts should be 4:20 :c

Thanks.  This just auto fixes the shoutcaster to limbo-team switching?  I still keep the [command] syntax in shrub?

btw do you always post at 4:20 EST?

This is based off level so admins with minimum of  level of " local ADMIN_LEVEL = 10 " will automatically be shoutcaster on the server but once you join a team limbo or not should allow you to join without having to log your self out.

IIRC limbo just sends commands like you would do with binds e.g team r 4 3

ps to adapt to your admin levels just change the number in the lua script.

#18207 ETAC looking to recruit

Posted by Purple on 11 May 2015 - 04:05 PM

He got busted for cheating again on many servers. Oxy guy is old player known as impulsive or whatever.... who flooded servers with fake player DDoS on many servers. I wouldn't trust any busted cheaters multiple times claiming "AC" work in progress and the person who is known to cause issues on other clan servers for fun.

Every admin runs server so players can enjoy but those who try to cause trouble by hacking and DDoS'ing are never trust worthy. Chaplja was cheat coder but never server hacker or DDoS'r.

yeah after his last bust he disappeared and i was warned before hand. Oh well back to me and zelly <3

Unfortunately this is not possible. The full command must be written.

Yous you can write commands to any chat and use hidden commands. You need to set the correct permission flags per level to enable those:

http://mygamingtalk....ermission_Flags. Flags '9' and '3' are needed for these.

i beg to differ pretty sure you could do this with lua :> did it in etpub anyways.

There are countless times I'd like to be able to just edit a level remove/add permissions ingame.

#17835 Question on XPSave on silent

Posted by Purple on 01 April 2015 - 02:25 PM

I used to have a php script for it (ask schnoog? (dont remember his name)) that was given to me. anyways if you look inside the etlegacy source you can see how its done.

Go here https://github.com/e...lient/cl_main.c

and you'll see this

 * @brief Update cl_guid using #ETKEY_FILE
static void CL_UpdateGUID(void)
	fileHandle_t f;
	int          len;

	len = FS_SV_FOpenFileRead(BASEGAME "/" ETKEY_FILE, &f);

	if (len < ETKEY_SIZE)
		Com_Printf(S_COLOR_RED "ERROR: Could not set etkey (size mismatch).\n");
		Cvar_Set("cl_guid", "");
		char *guid = Com_MD5FileETCompat(ETKEY_FILE);

		if (guid)
			Cvar_Set("cl_guid", guid);

Here you can see how they check for a guid in the dir and if its not there generate one.

also information in the header where the size and name is defined

#define ETKEY_FILE "etkey"
#define ETKEY_SIZE 28

but where most of the real magic happens for the acutal generating part is in md5.c

and if i'm correct this is the main peice where the actual generating happens ofc there is more to it then just this but you should get the point.

char *Com_MD5FileETCompat(const char *filename)
	char key[19] = { 0 };
	char *buffer;
	int  len;

	len = FS_ReadFile(filename, ( void ** ) &buffer);
	if (buffer)
		if (len >= 28)
			int i;

			for (i = 0; i < 18; i++)
				key[i] = buffer[i + 10];

			return CalculateGUID(key);
	return NULL;

and if you don't understand the language just backtrack it afaik next stop > CalcluateGUID() and so on :)

I know this isn't the exact answer you wanted (sorry) but it should give you a understanding of something :D

#17829 Question on XPSave on silent

Posted by Purple on 01 April 2015 - 08:10 AM

Did you also have an etkey? even though PB doesn't support ET anymore most mods are still compatible with ETkeys, as the post by hellreturn is just stating silent mod has its own method of generating "etkeys" and yes the data is stored in silent.dat (hence when you reinstall et backup silent.dat for your admin/xp).
