working hard for our pleasure.. tnx of for that !
Is there any update on the anticheat detection? Been noticing a few undetected cheats on server where its obvious that they cheat.
Please send us undetected cheat using this:
http://mygamingtalk.com/forums/contactus/
AC always get updated but we have never given any public statement before on what gets updated and will never do so further down the road. We do have some nice features planed down the road.

Please report it on our bug tracker

sorry for opening this old thread Again
just wondering if this still is a nogo?
I have lots of etpub members complaining about it atm, for them its a complete turnoff that they cant have it off.
if it was implemented in silent I would just use a forcecvar to make sure all had it.
Why not implement and thereby make sure etpub is left in the dust to die out?
pretty sure that setting alone is 1 of the mainthing we still see etpub servers.
sorry Again for reopening an old post
Any change on server would result in few players complaining. It's up to the admins what to tell them.
Upon each ETPub version update on my server from 0.7 to 0.9 players use to whine about hitbox change when ETPUB dev team use to tell there is no change in hitbox.
My question made years back still stands. Which modes beside ETPUB uses to disable damagekick?
There was a reason why we removed it on the first hand and we still haven't found reason to add it back.
If you have any specific reason to add it back please feel free to share and we will look into it.

Can give you a lua version of it untill silent mod does it (if they do) let me know if you want it.
You can release all LUA here: http://mygamingtalk.com/forums/files/category/8-lua/
This way all admins/clans can get benefit.
-
Just grab the server config and full silent mod folder. Upload on new host + maps. Restart server.
-
which files you need?
Either only your DB files and server.dat file inside your silent mod folder or your full server files so that I can just start the server (Remove u rcon)
This way i can recreate replica of your server on my machine and see if it lags or not. If it lags on my machine also then we can investigate more and if it doesn't then it's your machine/server issue.

Thanks a lot for helping me, but for sure the problem is here:
wolf@lasmartbox:~$ df -hFilesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on/dev/simfs 64G 3.9G 42G 9% /tmpfs 256M 0 256M 0% /lib/init/rwtmpfs 256M 0 256M 0% /dev/shm(42G+3.9G = 64G ..... as you can see, space-disk is eaten by an alienware lol)So I made a new ticket at http://www.pulseheberg.comThat one is showing more usage because probably it's a node issue where your VPS is hosted. Probably overselling OpenVZ. I could be also wrong.

OK for ioping, gonna try it.
I've made the bench from the link of my previous post, and get this result:
To be honest benchmark will not help you much unless you have your own dedicated server. If you have your own server I would suggest using munin or any other lower level monitoring tools to monitor your HD, CPU and RAM usage. Munin has good plugins too.

Thanks hellreturn, here is output:
wolf@lasmartbox:~$ dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync
16384+0 records in16384+0 records out1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 15.7585 s, 68.1 MB/sDoes-it seem normal ?Concerning the CPU, I want to try the tool in this forum http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=2be42efe8e3f79996fe00fd7cfbbc469&t=924581 , which can be a database-reference if I use the link in the 1st post.i'll join topic since i have similar problem. Unfortunately in my case removing users database is not an option.
hd test output
dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync 16384+0 records in 16384+0 records out 1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 17.2295 s, 62.3 MB/s
Those values seems fine for SATA 3Gbs devices or VPS/VDS.
I had same issue on one of my windows server and it got auto resolved when I added new hard drives to my server.
Since you guys have linux try ioping also. It would tell you latency of hard drives at the time of map start. Let's try this:
1. Install ioping.
2. Run ioping and monitor it during map start.
3. See if you see any increase in latency causing CPU halts.
4. Remove the DB and then start the server again.
5. If no red spikes and no increase in latency spikes of hard drive after removing DB files then it could be HD I/O issue.
For debian just do apt-get install ioping
Example:
4096 bytes from / (simfs /vz/private/3581): request=1 time=0.1 ms 4096 bytes from / (simfs /vz/private/3581): request=2 time=0.1 ms 4096 bytes from / (simfs /vz/private/3581): request=3 time=0.4 ms 4096 bytes from / (simfs /vz/private/3581): request=4 time=0.4 ms 4096 bytes from / (simfs /vz/private/3581): request=5 time=0.3 ms 4096 bytes from / (simfs /vz/private/3581): request=6 time=0.1 ms 4096 bytes from / (simfs /vz/private/3581): request=7 time=10.8 ms 4096 bytes from / (simfs /vz/private/3581): request=8 time=6.0 ms 4096 bytes from / (simfs /vz/private/3581): request=9 time=0.3 ms 4096 bytes from / (simfs /vz/private/3581): request=10 time=1.6 ms 4096 bytes from / (simfs /vz/private/3581): request=11 time=0.2 ms --- / (simfs /vz/private/3581) ioping statistics --- 11 requests completed in 10530.4 ms, 547 iops, 2.1 mb/s min/avg/max/mdev = 0.1/1.8/10.8/3.3 ms
During any map start game read all pk3's.. so if that time HD I/O increases then server can handle, then it could give red spikes to players.. Once map is loaded it would be all fine... That was the case with me cos my server hard drive got old.
Diabolic / mp_no can I host your server files for testing purpose and see if you are getting same red spikes or not? Just to make sure it's not environment issue?
PS I also use munin for monitoring server usage... if any of you are interested here is the link: http://munin-monitoring.org/

Problem solved, by deleting these files in silent/database folder :
- userdb.db
- userxdb.db
- serverstat.cfg
- mapvoteinfo.cfg
@JohnDory, thx for your help.
V55
If that fixed the issue then it seems like HD I/O issue on your server. Try this command on u Linux shell and
dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync
And post the output here. It might give an idea if something is wrong with hard drives.

I am wondering when MS will abandon its Metro UI.
I believe somewhere I had read that they are going to change it... Not sure where I read it.. but it was in news couple of weeks back.
-
nexuz or nexus is cheat but pk3 in itself wouldn't cause violation. pk3 name or pk3 itself has no relation with violations.
-
OR You can run cron on your server to get new geoip.dat every month That would be much easier ... I try to set up my basic things as cron so I don't have to worry to update it and it always get updated.
-
Size keeps changing has maxmind changes it. Geoip.dat gets updated every month or two or sometimes every quarter. I just update it on our server every 6 months or so.
-
Right now 0.8.x series of omni bot would work but I would suggest to use latest because it has all bug fixes and enhancements.

8 Enable MP40 and Thompson to be available to both teams in limbo menu
-
OR Just use map voting feature but that also limited to 32 maps.
-
Well I moved 3 months back. And I sent few msgs to you on server.... Guess you did not see em.
PM is disabled so.. waiting to 10k xp..
Great to play on F|A with this ping (I used to play with 300+ when I was in F|A). Now I am enjoying it. Ha ha.
Glad to see you again! Poke me up when you play will join It was fun!
Sorry might have missed it! The gameplay of hardcore server makes me focus on doing obj all the time and I miss the PM's. My bad!
-
I do play on F|A servers and I had no lag issue.
But I got few complaints from players, so wanted to check whether there are other incidents.
Thanks for the reply
Since when u moved to USA? I thought u where from other country.. Good to see u again though! It's been a while.
-
I put this to WolfSL server. Got many complaints about lag. Still investigating.
Is anyone else facing the same... ?
I really want to upgrade to 8.1
Thanks Silent Team ! The best mod IMO
No lag on our servers at all.
-
Yes for now
Bad Never do that
Since you have no homepath or basepath set it would create logs under hidden folder. Just add path and restart server.
-
Running as root user?
-
What is your command line to start server? And under what user u run the server? Based on that I can tell u the path. Mostly it going under hidden folder if u path is messed up.
-
Will check what's wrong over the weekend.. or tonight cos it's not 5 mins work. At least not for me cos it been ages i made sound pack even for my clan. So I will get u going over the weekend. (No Promises cos real life comes first)
PS: Dedicated server for Perl is over kill. SSD KVM VPS works instead of that Just a suggestion.

It's just someone trying to do fake player DoS on your server. Unless 5 legit players playing from same house on your server.
