you need to install ET v2.60d which can be found on the splash damage web site or our download page (257meg), and then once installed, run it and just join the required server, the game will download everything it needs to run. As to installing on a mac, it just installs like anything does, I believe. Once ET v2.60d is installed you join the server you require, as long as the mod the server is using supports the mac it should run ok.

We don't have the game server and web server on the same machine, we delete the log files once they start getting to big and the stats are reset at the end of the year usually. we've not noticed any slow down anywhere.
-
I do not know enough about it, but, I'm sure we used to have on our shared hosting before we got the VPS, its a long time ago though.
-
we don't use LUA either. our stats are done with VSP it may be old but it works so far.
-
just run the server.cfg and that will reload the server with the config you usally use, works like a server restart or run the objectivecycle.cfg and that will start your normal map cycle again, last but not least restart your server.

hello, The first place to look is here and come back if you have any problems. But your question ? both.
-
ours is set to "g_dmgGLauncherRadius" is:"250" default:"250"we have some mean engineers who are rather good with it and some of our users ask for less damage. I guess it is just practice.

good to see you've sorted it.

that is because they are running ET as the normal ET, then join your server and load / download silent mod, set your settings, then quit then run ET the normal mod again which does not contain your silent settings. To keep the settings you can either :- 1. set the same settings in each mod and then it doesn't matter what mod you use you should have the same basic settings set, you do this by loading each mod you have one by one and set the settings you require. 2. if they have a mod already on your machine just run that mod when you run ET by adding +set fs_game silent after the ET.exe in the icon properties you use to start ET, you can swap the game type to the one of choice, i.e. if you need NoQuarter +set fs_game nq To do this you must have the mod inside its own directory inside your Enemy Territory directory.

you could try deleting that as well, if that doesn't cure it ? stop the server and delete silent 0.8.2 from the server, your silent directory and the redirect, then copy the same version of the file to the server and the redirect, restart the server and then join, you should then download the silent 0.8.2 file again in game and all should be well with the world.
-
did you delete the old one from your server and your computer ?
-
you have not got the download redirect set set correctly. If the new silent downloads direct from the server between 5 and 20kbs and it just keeps restarting, you do not have the same file on the server and the redirect. If some players do not then that just means that they already have the new silent downloaded and they do not have to from you.

OPTIONS-SYSTEM- new screen resolutions
JohnDory replied to clan DIABOLIK's topic in Added / Completed Features
I have the same resolution in all mods, I try to have it the same for all games too. It makes it easier switching screens back to desktop while in game if I need to. -

That is the point of this, it is not a command to use in game, once they have been on a server with silent running on it they have the silent directory on their computer, only then can you make any alterations to the run line in the game icon used for starting the game. If you use this and normally play nq or etpro this start up is not for you. Cheating ? it is to do with which mod you play, on our main server it is silent with this startup when the game runs it loads silent mod and in this we have altered the in game main menu to add a servers option that displays all our servers and you just click to join the one you want. If you wanted to do that you would have to alter the in game menu to suit your servers. What could be easier for someone who doesn't know the game, we have people who do not and wont learn how to do stuff with their PC's they just want to shot, the easier we can make to join our servers the better. -

It sounds like your running your ET with nothing added. You need to load the silent mod to get your silent settings running including your screen resolution set via the silent menu. You could always cheat if you do not play any other mods ? in properties of your game icon you use to start the game change ET.exe to ET.exe +set fs_game silent this will start your game with silent already loaded and you'll have your screen size back right away with out changing any thing. Remembering that when ET with silent first starts you have black bars down each side of the screen until you join a server. -
you could try g_constructibleXPSharing = 1
-
use set g_XPSave 31 it will not keep disapearing unless the other settings are set to tell it to. On ours we have // XP Save configuration set g_XPSave 31 //changed from 21 set g_XPSaveMaxAge_xp "5d" //changed from "30d" set g_damageXP "0" //changed from "1" set g_damageXPLevel "50" set g_maxXP -1 //changed from "90000" set g_xpdecay "0" set g_xpdecayrate "0" set g_xpdecayfloor "0" //changed from "1" set g_identOptions 31 with this the xp is save for 5 days but if you reconnect before then the xp is kept, we reset ours using the clearxp command once a month.

yes but it must have the same name on the redirect
-
the file is a .pk3 you should rename it if you downloaded it as something else. put the file in the same directory as the silent0.8.1pk3 all the files are / should be .pk3 not anything else or the game will not be able to read them.
-
the file has to be a .pk3 file when you restart the game server it picks up any changes to the file list in the silent directory and any files that have changed or new are automatically loaded. If there are any changes when you join the server your game detects this and downloads the changes files from the redirect and then you play the game with the changed files. The sounds are already setup in silent but the sound files are missing, the file .pk3 you uploaded contains the missing sound files. If you did not have a redirect the files required by your et on your computer would download the missing files from the game server at a very slow speed for example 10 to 20kbs, however the game already knows to look for the redirect, the redirect is a file store where all the files you need to download are kept, if you have a good redirect the files will be downloaded at your connections full speed so it does not take long for each download and more than one person at a time can download from it. Once you have downloaded the missing files from the redirect you do not need to download anything again until something changes in the silent directory or the maps have changed in the etmain directory, if some thing changes and you already have the changed file you do not need to download it again.
-
yes, you also need to put it on your redirect so it can be downloaded by everyone. anything you put extra in the silent directory of the server will be downloaded by any one joining the server and those need to be on your redirect as well.
