    This is not very modifiable in silEnT. I don't think there are any options currently for controlling popup types. All announcements (sprees, mulkikills etc.) can be disabled through silent menu, but I doubt there are options for more.
     
    The font handling is inherited from ETPub and as far as I remember, we haven't made changes to it. So most likely methods that work with ETPub will work with silEnT. I'm not sure what kind of modifications you want for fonts, but there is also a fonts menu for modifying those couple fonts that are in the pk3.
     
    True. I don't know if we will ever improve on this area much. Free camera mode is especially something that is missing from the mod.

    I believe I have found the issue in code. The bug concerns most likely every version of Omni-bot and silEnT mod together. The issue is caused by a faulty map script. Maps with this problem can be identified from "ERROR: No 'script_multiplayer' found in map" entry in the server log. In future versions the crash is fixed.

    Sorry I didn't read your walls very carefully until now.
     
    FA has nothing to do with the PPSh. It was added by me and silencer. I can assure you we have no disdain against medics. We also understand the game mechanics very well. Also, don't forget that only one person in the team has affiliation with the FA clan (hellreturn) so it is not possible that opinions of the FA clan admins can be overly presented in the development.
     
    The spread and spread accumulation is exactly equal to other SMG weapons. So the same players would make "lucky" shots on you with any SMG weapon.

    Bottom line is the one who has better aim or awareness (starts shooting first) in the situation wins when PPSh is against other SMG weapons. This is based on the gun characteristics i.e. numbers. The weapon is practically irrelevant and I personally don't even notice it anymore if other players use it or not. The situations where it can make a difference is when one player is against many or if both have just terrible aim. This advantage comes from the larger clip size.

    The headshot damage is obviously exactly the same in PPSh and other SMG weapons. In default settings.

    Just for the record, all this PPSh is overpowered is just an emotional thing coming from the players not being able to handle the thought of someone being better in a situation. The gun sound plays a role in that too. I had the same issue myself in the beginning. However, when players I considered good aimers started using it, I got rid of that problem. I noticed it didn't change the gun fights at all. Another fact is that we couldn't make it overpowered. In the beginning I was for making it strong because at the time, playing medic was too easy for me. I've always been quite dedicated medic. I just got hooked into the adrenaline for fast decision making between revives and shooting enemies. That is also the reason why it was not made available for the medics. silEnT mod is a public server mod so all the balance talk of scrims never applies to this mod. On a pub server at least half of the team is not playing exactly for the same objective on the same level. Even on objective style servers. You can be sure that it was carefully looked so that an engineer with a PPSh is not an overpowered rambo engineer.

    I think the cofusion is in terms. I think he wants to ban players who have not yet visited the server. The userban would work players who are not connected but have visited the server before.     Either way you can't do it just with the command.
     
    You could do bot maxbots 6 though and there would be six bots 3 bots per team. They would leave when a player joins.

    If I say something is not reproducible it means I have tested it. I have said it several posts ago already so you can't claim you didn't notice it. I see this is the end of this thread as no truthful information was provided.

    It seems this needs to be spelled out even more clearly to avoid new bullshit threads from popping up.
    1. Spectator click spamming mouse does not crash/stall server with default configuration. It has been tested.
    2. Only other information that was given was a crash report that clearly has nothing todo with mouse clicking whatsoever.

    The silent GUID is used for identification if there exists one. If there doesn't exist one, it is generated and stored to silent.dat. When the player gets a new silent GUID it is not yet recognized by the server. Then the server uses the PB GUID(etkey) if, there exists one, to search it's database for a match. If a match is found, the database record is linked with the new silent GUID. If there already was a silent GUID for that record, the change of silent GUID is written to the server log. This was made so that the transition from PB GUIDs would work the easiest way. It doesn't work the same if your PB GUID changes. The server database is made to keep both PB and silent GUIDs as individually unique. But players are identified by their silent GUIDs if there exists a record for it and the PB GUID is ignored in such case.
     
    I don't remember the algorithm for generating the real etkeys, but it might have something related to time. So for that reason it is good to get the keys from etkey.org so that they don't clash. Silent keys are made of hashed UUIDs provided by the platform, which are supposed to be unique. These are hashed also before sending to the server so that they don't match the stored value in silent.dat.
     
    For more information of the PB GUIDs, you might find some from the Luigi Auriemmas website. I don't really know where to find the real algorithm if it's not there anywhere. It might be somewhere embedded in some thread about the matter for example at splashdamage or splatterladder.

    Maybe you could print the config strings with Lua http://mygamingtalk.com/wiki/Silent_Lua#trap_GetConfigstring?The first two strings are set by the engine and those can have larger size than the rest. The rest can have maximum length of 1024 bytes each. The total MAX is something like half of the total space (all strings combined), for some weird and unknown reason, if I remember correctly.

    I don't like the color spam idea. I would rather see the texts that don't relate to the game character have the gender option. Though I don't think there are a lot of such texts. Probably just few obituaries.

    Also, you can get the 8 character id from the sess.guid with substring 
    string.sub(s, i [, j]) http://lua-users.org/wiki/StringLibraryTutorial. The last 8 characters of the sess.guid is the silent id for the command.

    In ETPub based Lua modules, the scripts are read in the
    qboolean G_LuaInit() function at g_lua.c. I think that is the place to make the modifications. I would suggest adding a cvar for the directory, similar to g_mapConfigs and g_mapScriptDirectory cvars.

    The actions you have described can be made only with rcon commands. Also, you can never trust a word someone who does that kind of things to you are saying. If he says one thing it is most likely something completely different in reality.
     
    Please pm me the userinfo strings he uses. The name check has a known issue which allows too wide range of characters as valid. If I remeber correctly, someone else reported empty name too.
